Billyonaire: Dont be silly, learn to stay sane at moments like this. Some people dont know when to stop unfortunately |
The study is too nebulous to be useful though. I would argue a child born to a Nigerian middle class family is luckier than one born to middle class African American family in 2013 on average. You can finish secondary school and university without an ounce of debt. And all the crap we pulled in boarding school in Nigeria would in the US get you a rap sheet so long you couldn't get into a good university, never mind a decent job. Lets not even talk about being born black in Britain or one of those Euro countries. My point is, Nigeria may be corrupt, but the state is not fundamentally designed to put you on the outside. |
All the tribalistic bs aside, africans really need to learn how to cede power. Of what use is governorship if Chime develops a complication and dies. Hand over power to your deputy, be thankful you can go abroad for your treatment, and stay there until you are clear. In a democracy, you can come back and resume office once you are medically cleared. |
First off, it is true that marriage was designed for believers, or Christians if you prefer. What this means practically is that Christians have a responsibility to show the world what true marriage is. That's one.No it wasnt, anymore than raising kids was designed for believers. Its obvious you have come to this conclusion based on your belief, not evidence. Thats cool, and I'd rather not argue you out of a belief, no matter how wrong it is. |
They had to be less happy - we forget how many medical diseases we dont need to fight anymore. Some of these were painful, lingering conditions. Still though, happiness is a state of the mind, and its easier to be happy when you care about fewer things |
ekt_bear: Word on the street is that Seun is boning Tonto Dike. Hence all the threads about her on the front page.ahhh....wouldnt it be funny if this actually makes it into newspapers. |
Ihedinobi: I don't know how slow you mean. I'm as slow as me.My bad if my reply was insulting. But seriously though, you have traded practical every day living for spiritual sounding stuff that has no bearing on anything. What you just posted still has nothing to do with a man and a woman getting together for the purpose of raising a family, and acting as one legal unit to the rest of the world. I often wonder how much poverty has to do with our need to over spiritualize everything |
ibukunoluwa66: My fiancee left me cause of my protruding belly. You need to keep you metabolism up throughout the day so you can keep burning calories. This is how some naturally thin people stay that way even though they eat a lot. You should split your 3 square meals into 6 smaller meals. This will shrink your stomach size over time and keep your metabolism revved up and your body has less food to deal with each time. Also dont wait until you are hungry to eat - this will allow you eat a smaller portion and still feel full all day. If you have a soda habit, make a habit of drinking teas or water regularly as it will help resist the urge for sugary drinks. If you really want quicker results, cardio in the morning is better than in the evening, because your heart rate will be elevated for more of your waking hours and burns more calories. You want to run at a pace that only allows you to jog for about 15 minutes before being completely out of breath. Walking for hours, or jogging that is not strenous enough is useless for you. Hopefully you can attract a less shallow fiance in 3 months |
Ihedinobi: I'm sorry I didn't see your answer to the question. You really arent that slow, are you? Unless you are suggesting christianity began before christ, which I implicitly stated. And just in case you want to extend Christianity before the time of Jesus, it still wouldnt help your case. The Israelites did not introduce marriage either. So you cant come out of the woodwork several centuries later and claim a practice you didnt start is suddenly only for you. It does make you wonder about the reasoning process of many christians |
Ihedinobi: When did Christianity really start, sir?Paul talked about the church being a bride, so obviously marriage was well established by the time christianity came on the scene. Its only a matter of time before one of these pastors "proves" that children are meant for believers only. |
ROSSIKE: That's not Gaza city. And I doubt you would be talking ''natural vegetation'' if you were one of the thousands living in rusty roofed shacks in modern Ekiti.ouch |
you do realize marriage was started long before christianity. Religion without education really is dangerous |
Seun: Source: http://www.stockmarketnigeria.com/forums/157982-post826.htmlNo matter how tempting, banks should never be looked at as growth stocks imho |
Ufeolorun: Thumbs down .Won't trade Ekiti's natural vegetation for Gaza city,no flipping way like. The real future is Green.bros come out of the forest and join civilization. seriously though, you are right. Becoming more urban is not necessarily a good thing |
A history section would degenerate into civil war fights and eventually become useless. Unless someone is willing to actively mod it...something no one has been able to do with the politics section so far |
CROWÉ: A little too literal there mate, the whole point is to say that Nigerian cities will look developed. DO you want him to make CGI of floating towers to fit a more futuristic idea of 2050?Then you should be happy with the way things are now. We look more developed than we were 40 years ago. I dont know why anyone thinks this thread is a good idea. It is a curse to be perpetually behind others by about a century. |
18 days on nairaland in 6 years seems reasonable ![]() |
ROSSIKE: Not at all.Even in 2050, Ekiti still looks "behind the times". might as well be 1984. lol |
bookface: Make i just carry one of this man Pikin, nack am Akpako com give am belle, na in be say God don butter my bread be that!lol. you are not the first "enterprising" young man to think about this. No try am o, especially in Nigeria where the law can be bought easily. They will abort the child, cut off your d1*k and feed it to you, then lock you up in kirikiri until you are so old you need help wiping your @ss |
If you try eating dinner before 8pm for one month, you will notice an significant drop in visceral (belly) fat, even without exercise. Your body needs time to digest whatever you eat, so the closer to bed you eat, the less time it has, and such food usually ends up as belly fat. Many toxins that cannot be metabolised by the liver often get stored in this belly fat, so the more of it you have, the more likely you are to have health issues as you age, as those toxins get released into your bloodstream. Bottom line is you can eat whenever you want, but there is always a price - your body has limits. Just like when you go without food for long periods, you may think you have cheated your body, but behind the scenes, it has worked out a few "compromises" that you will pay for later. free2ryhme: what abt people that work night shifts or are held up in traffic and get home lateLife is unfortunately unfair, apparently |
salt 1: You risk making a young wife a widow. You pay school fees with pension money.Ok this one sent a shiver down my spine. Nairalanders I'm looking o, pls direct your resumes to me |
wetin una no go see for nairaland. A man guns down his lover and all of her family, and some people want to hear the guy's side of the story. Others are are turning into pastors and preaching to ladies on who they should date. There is NOTHING that warrants wiping out people with an AK47 |
Dudu_Negro: there are somethings worth taking notes on in this courtroom . there is drama and as i watched i wondered if this was a traditional african courtroom whether sitting elders would allow such drama to unfold in their presence. The lawyer was very unprofessional. He really had no point other than humiliation. It was obvious the panel was a joke too - it looked more like tales by moonlight than a reconciliation committee. Diya should have just gotten up and walked away. |
^^I know. It was irritating to see how scared Diya was in the court room when the lawyer threatened that Abacha might show up. How does a chicken like this become a general. |
inufele2: Some people just like to spew rubbish over the internet because they find it convenient to do as they can hide under the anonymity it provides, in real life they are very timid. until you face a real life and death situation you cannot say this is what you'll do. All humans by their instinct will beg for their lives if they feel this could save them from an imminent death. How many the so called strong men have not cowed in the face of death? we have seen gadaffi, we've seen Samuel doe and even Saddam trying desperately to save their lives. We even know of one warlord who wouldn't even wait to face his enemies but bolted away in the middle of the night disguise as a woman just to escape from these enemies who are at least several tens of kilometres awayStill, Diya is a poor excuse for a General. Even years after the ordeal, he cannot muster up the courage to speak like a man |
CrimsonLove: Lianne la Havas - Lost and Foundnice one. one of those artists I selfishly hope never become mainstream |
davidylan: wishful thinking. With the exception of myself and a core set of folks, the truth is that most christians on here largely ignore atheists. Not because they are afraid of them but because the atheists here largely have nothing to contribute outside of ad hominem attacks, illogical speculations, propagating pseudo-scientific jargon that takes far more faith to believe in and vitriolic outburts at a God they claim exists only in the mind.It bothered you enough to start the thread. I wonder why? Obviously, something said in those arguments stuck in your mind. Could it be you went personal on a few atheists to deflect your conscience? That is usually the reason debates degenerate into personal attacks. |
Onlytruth: Ndigbo can stay in PDP and still vote Jonathan. We are fine with him. The burden is on YOU to tell us why we should vote "patriotically" in Nigeria, when doing so would likely mean perpetual slavery in our own country? And how does voting for GEJ keep you out of that slavery. He has been president for a few years now, and by your own admission you are still in slavery. So what is it about GEJ's second term that will free you, that is, what is he going to do in the next 4 years that he has been unable to do in the first 4. You are confused ![]() |
I suspect OP and other "christian" folks get angry with atheists, because atheists force christians to confront issues that they would rather sweep under the rug. Davidylan and co already believe hell is real, and that they may burn there forever depending on what they believe, not just works alone. So they would rather not take any risk and ask the obvious questions. Atheists like logicboy remind them of this hypocrisy, hence the negative reaction. Based on this, you at least have to give atheists props for bravery and honesty. If you are an atheist, you are better off doing what logicboy03 is doing - keep it to yourself. Most of your fellow naija christians are practicing atheists, and they would rather you didnt remind them about it. |
This thread is still alive. Thank God o. On a side note, black_kenichi or whatever you call yourself...stop being a ret@rd, reposting all the pictures again just to add a smiley. |
Obinnau: this thing you have all been saying has been only on your mouth. When do u begin cos am interested?Dont wait for Seun. You have to seize the time yourself |
netesy: Why? I believe in you. ![]() |
