Christianity EtcRe: We Live in a 3D World. The Spirit World is 4D Plus. by birdman(m): 3:25am On Jan 01, 2013
ROSSIKE: Many accounts by near-death experiencers and out of body experiencers describe their experience as being in what scientists acknowledge to be a 4 dimensional environment, which qualifies therefore as the 'spirit world'. What is a spirit? A spirit is a being that we cannot ordinarily perceive in our 3D world.

If you were to enter a 4D world, that 'spirit' or blurry ghost (from your 3D perspective) would appear as a full, solid being or entity. Being 4D (or higher), that world would appear to you even more solid, and the experience of it more 'real' than this one.

Typically, in NDE accounts, the experiencer says there are ''no human words available to describe'' the nature of the environment they found themselves in. But that the experience felt 'more real' than our current reality.
A three dimensional being like man can only see in 2D at any point in time. The only way we know a sphere isnt a circle is because of lighting, shades and other visual cues. A 3D object could also walk around the 2D object, stitching several mental 2D pictures into a 3D one.

Similarly, a 4th dimensional being can only see in 3D. So all those who have NDE should have told us of being able to see other people in 3D while in the spirit, that is see the front back and sides all at the same time. No such account exists, in fact they see just like normal humans see - 2D with perspective. This means spatial dimensions can not really be linked to spiritual stuff.

This is why calling the fourth dimension spiritual would be a mistake, just like calling time the fourth dimension. Time is measured in seconds, space in meters, spiritual who knows what is also a different quantity. So it is probably an error to equate all these loosely. Besides, na who wan watch 10 dimensional object for eternity grin
PoliticsRe: Why Do African/Black People Ridicule Those Who Care About Them And The Continent by birdman(m): 8:42pm On Dec 31, 2012
igbo2011: Even in Africa they have a colonial education. They teach you thatvAfricans are the most inferior people in the world. While giving religious courses worshipping white people. We need to change this and put black images of dieties. These missionary schools are bad IMO. I know Africans who think their history started with the white man. They we need to change our mindset. I try posting positive history or documentaries here like Motherland 500 years later and hidden colors 1 and 2
Good luck with the bolded. The mental headlock is so strong that I dont think many Nigerians can even imagine a black Jesus, even though they will quickly tell you Jesus' color does not matter.

Logicboy03: There could be a 4th dimension that we as humans can not perceive. However, it doesnt follow that the dimension would be spiritual.

It could be like how dogs are colour blind. Does that make colour a spiritual dimension to dogs?
exactly

Im not too convinced with the 4th dimension being the the spirit world. This conclusion looks too loose and convenient.

shymexx: I noticed that the most ridiculed posters on nl are Igbo2011 and cap28, and these are the most passionate black brothers on this forum... These brothers don't even care about their ethnic group nor engage in the ethnic chauvinism and bigotry that's the bane of this forum and Nigeria/African continent in general... All they care about is the upliftment of black people and the African continent - yet they still get ridiculed everyday by pseudo-intellectuals, coons, uncle Toms, aunt Tomasinas, spooks, political jobbers etc..

Why can't we cut them slack and listen to the message they have got for us??
cap28 brings some of the ridicule on himself. Having a message is not enough, you also have to deliver it in the right spirit. Getting abusive and aggressive when people disagree with you out of ignorance does not help your message. If you really have pure intentions, then you should be more concerned about people gaining knowledge than trying to show you know more than others.

Ileke-IdI:
KoboJunkie asked a question a while ago, this question has been bugging me since then:
To me, anytime a bunch of Nigerians gather together to do anything, that act itself is their culture. There is nothing magical or sacred about culture - you cannot separate culture from the people practising it. This means Africans, Americans, Asians all have culture. They dont even have to call it that...just by existing and doing what they do, that itself is culture. Maybe this is the reason we remain backward in almost every area of influence. Instead of thinking about Atilogwu dancers anytime someone brings up culture, we should be actively defining what our culture, and therefore identity is. This by itself is ultimate power. If we do, we wont be backwards for long, guaranteed.

ekt_bear: NY Times isn't ultra liberal. And being ultra-liberal doesn't mean supporting/promoting baby mamma culture and broken homes.
I am not referring to the baby mama culture at all. And when I say liberal, I dont consider voting democratic to be liberal eg. most minorities that vote democratic are also social conservatives - I mean true ideological liberals. Wether nytimes is ultra liberal or not, like other liberal establishments, they tend to de-emphasize the need for a traditional home with a mother and father. Liberals overwhelmingly believe a home with two women or two men as parents is just as good. Obviously, from the article, it really isnt.

esere826: We run to India they run to Singapore

Watching the CNN world news, my interest was piqued by the unfortunate story of gang r.ape of a young lady in India
The lady is now in a Singapore hospital for treatment.
The report also says that Indian officials usually go to Singapore for treatment of their ailments

Interesting that our top officials run to Germany for medical treatment
Those that have giving up on purely orthodox treatment run to Saudi Arabia hoping that perhaps their God might hear their cries better there
And yet our middle cadre officials run to India for treatment while they (Indians) run to Singapore

umhhh.............. just musing
Apparently I wasnt the only one thinking about that. I wonder what the success rate for medical tourism to india is. From celebrity news, it doesnt look that good.

In addition, upper-income parents, especially fathers, have increased their child-rearing time, while the presence of fathers in low-income homes has declined. Miss G. said there is a reason the triplets relied so heavily on boyfriends: “Their fathers weren’t there.”
Interesting quote coming from ultra liberal nytimes.

thoth: And Susan Rice is white ?
I am always dumbfounded when i listen to Africans of your kind, they always exhibit extreme naivity coupled with arrogance especially in events they knew nothing of and lacks the intellectual determination to research on. All you simple mind can grasp is that blacks killing blacks and we should blame the Congo, Did you read the article at all or just the headlines ? Who is funding those insurgents ? Since by composition its majority are Rwandans and Ugandans can you call it congolese by any means ?
A situation that most of your kind fail to understand is that the Rwandan and Ugandan masses are against their goverment involvement and anti-african aggression against their neighbours. The western media did not tell you that the Ugandan government jailed many educated elites after they tried to organize a demonstration against the goverment concerning this issue. You never heard that in April a few Rwandan army officers resigned in protest for their goverment involvement in what they call "regional destabilizing policies" against the congolese goverment.
It is folks like you that still believe that Idi Amin was a cannibal and a tyrant.
The objective of your thread was to bring to this issue to light. You do yourself and your message a disservice when you get abusive. Btw I agree with Glen Ford here - we really need to look beyond skin color.
PoliticsRe: Alaafin Tackles Ooni On Yoruba History by birdman(m): 4:59am On Dec 19, 2012
Katsumoto: Honestly,

The one problem I have with African chiefs is that they didn't consolidate power. If Oyo or Ibadan had continued with their expansion, the brits wouldn't have had it so easy. Oyo leaving so many vassal states resulted in those states becoming more powerful with time as Oyo's power waned. Instead of Oyo becoming a bigger state, its chiefs started fighting amongst themselves. Ibadan messed up by trying to fight everyone at the same time.
Its not that Oyo didnt try. And whenever they succeeded, the story was the same - they get arrogant and start treating other states like sh*t, so those states have to revolt. This happened over and over again. The British saw this, and used it as a wedge to divide states even further by playing favorites. Hell if the British came back today, the same strategy would work with the Ooni and Alaafin fight.

Happiness is all that matters, you only live once....... My experience with an African-American might be different from yours. Also bear in mind that we are all different, and should be treated individually, not as a group....

Love and happiness should be number 1, where they come from should be relegated to dustbin.
what makes you happy at 25 is not the same as at 45. Little wonder divorce rate is 50% and rising. I personally have no issues marrying an AA, as long as we are both open minded enough to embrace each other's cultures willingly.

whiteeyes: To make matters worst, Iam dying to feel the kind of passion that a man gives his woman, the type that gives a woman goose bumps at the sound of her man's voice, keeps her smiling at the mere thought of him, his touch enveloping her every desire.
No man can do this for a sustained period of time, especially with a kid, job pressure and bills. I suggest you work on your internal happiness. Its amazing how easy it is to be satisfied with others when you are satisfied with yourself.

saxywale: [b]I found the Interview I referred to about the controversial June 12 and The Ooni connection.
People who talk a lot tend to lie a lot. On that basis, most of the above interview is very likely BS. It smells like it too, especially the supposed Alaafin plot. I could care less if the Ooni was a monkey. Ife is the common connection among all Yorubas, be it Oyo, Benin or Brazil. Ooni, Alaafin are titles that will become increasingly irrelevant, as globalization overtakes two old men fighting to be custodians of history that is bigger than both of them. Ife will remain long after both are dust.

(future) parents please learn from stories like this to have less children than you can comfortably cater for.
Funny you should say this, because I think the op is going to end up in the same situation. It doesnt look like he has any savings to speak of, which makes me wonder how he plans on sending his kids to good schools, when he eventually has kids. Of course he will be much older by then, and probably cant work as hard or as long, and likely less income. Maybe he will send his kids to live with one of his juniors. Or work himself to death early and not even see his kids grow up. Or maybe he'll cut his coat according to his size, and only help to the extent that is reasonable in his power, while saving for the future. Stay tuned!
PoliticsRe: Beaf Was Right, Ogbunigwe Was An Anti Aircraft Missile (pic). by birdman(m): 6:00am On Dec 13, 2012
Ohaneze1: For yoreoba dolts on this thread who never believed that Igbos are African Jews just like there is American Jews:

"On March 31, 1968: Biafran army won their biggest battle. by ambushing and destroying a 96-vehicle column of Nigerian soldiers with locally hand made bomb called [Ogbunigwe or bucket bomb]. The humiliating Abagana defeat to Nigerian soldiers prompted General Yakubu Gowon to remove Col. Murtala Mohammed as the General Commanding Officer of the Onitsha sector."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abagana
That was Murtala's loss, not an ogbunigwe win. He loved sending hordes of soldiers into the line of fire, hoping a few would reach the other side, by sheer will cheesy. If you have a weapon that can propel pellets about 15 meters in a reasonably wide path, this would make the battle like a computer game. However, you will notice ogbunigwe doesnt have much success anywhere else. Once you know its there, it becomes useless - because if you spread out, each ogbunigwe shot then kills only one or two soldiers. Essentially, it becomes a very expensive, hard to carry, slow to load rifle with a very expensive bullet - not what you ant when you barely have rifles to go around.
PoliticsRe: Beaf Was Right, Ogbunigwe Was An Anti Aircraft Missile (pic). by birdman(m):
texazzpete: Anyone who calls this an 'anti-aircraft missile' has to be shot on sight for stupidity.

So you weld a simple tube, pack in explosives, put in pebbles and other small material for shrapnel, add springs to dampen vibration and to handle recoil and then you say you have an anti-aircraft missile?

It's a pity Nigerians are so poorly educated that this crude implement can be hyped beyond belief as an 'anti-aircraft missile'.

As Jakumo says, this probably drew inspiration from mortars of the day as well as ancient cannons firing grapeshot. What is clear is that this weapon had virtually no chance of ever bringing down any aircraft.
It was designed for low flying aircraft, according to article, flying up to 30m in the air. The only reason to fly aircraft that low is to avoid anti aircraft guns and rdar( which I doubt either side had). Read before criticizing, Einstein.

By the way, I doubt this would have been effective against aircraft. You would need uncanny aim, and would probably die in the process. But eh, no harm in trying cheesy

honeric01: Watch it again, it was a blow thrown by someone who was boxed into a corner.

Like a snake when boxed into a corner, it has no choice but to snap with all its strength, that was what Marquez did and it paid him.
Letting your opponent look like he has the advantage is the general idea of playing possum. Its similar to rope-a-dope, where you let your opponent get you on the ropes and you let him wail on you, with shots that look good, but really arent that strong. Hopefully he gets overconfident, swings wide and leaves his head exposed for a good uppercut.
SportsRe: ‎Marquez Knocks-Out Pacquiao In The Sixth Round by birdman(m): 12:51am On Dec 10, 2012
honeric01: Nope, not marginally, he was leading with 3 points and was owning the 6th rounds until Marquez did the stunner. Marquez was practically blinded with blows, sweats and blood gushing all over.
Maybe his game plan was to play possum until Pac got careless. Pac got caught by a floored punch! Either he got slow in a hurry, or Marquez baited him into overconfidence. Considering Marquez ate a jab just to throw a right hook, I think he was baiting Pac all along.
