Jimbadly: Okotie is doing more damage to his already tarnished image as a pastor. One controversy after another. From divorce to having a child out of wedlock to fleecing his congregation just to fuel his ostentatious lifestyle, etc. The matter would never have deteriorated to this extent had Okotie been humble enough to pacify Okiotor at the initial stages. It clearly shows the arrogance of some ''men of God'' who should be role models to their followers. They do the exact opposite of what Jesus stood for. Perhaps he thought he can call the bluff of Okioto, a lowly church rat who can't do nothing. Well he's been dragged to court, lets see how he gets out of this without parting with a huge sum of money and soiling his image the more. Why wont he be arrogant? Did you see what the mugu called TechWriter posted? Can you blame Okotie for taking advantage of people who refuse to think? A fool and his money are easily parted. |
PrevailPeace :I like how countries that rubbish us start to sing our praises when they need our help. If the Kenyan army right next to you plus drones cant help, I doubt Nigeria would be able to do better - we do have to overcome the logistics of ferrying supplies and men all the way to east africa, at our own cost. I also think BH is homegrown, and can be dealt with, if we have better leadership. Btw, knowing how proud Somalis are, you can be sure they will kick us out as soon as they feel they dont need us. |
Just to clarify btw, Christianity is NOT the white man's religion. They came upon it, just like other peoples did, and some hijacked it for political purposes. But the core of the message is essentially African. The trinity, Jesus birth and resurrection, etc have been in several African "pagan" religions, long before the historical Christ of the Bible. It doesn't make all of the Bible untrue, it just means you need to apply wisdom when meditating on it. Similarly, folks, please use the same wisdom with every other African religion you come across. Just because your ancestors thought it was a good idea to worship an animal does not mean you must do the same. Our ancestors were not omniscient (neither are you), and some of the practices they engaged in, in ignorance, are deadly. |
PAGAN 9JA:Please explain further. If the posts here are to be believed, some people can be linked (married) spiritually to animals like a python. Furthermore, the said python may decide to pay a "friendly" visit every now and then. If I know full well that someone subscribes to this, why in God's name would I want to ever be yoked with such a person. Or you want the "original" husband to vex for me? What am I missing here? |
Ofonagoro :Sure why not. We all know real progress appears by faith, almost like magic. |
Sounds like the makings of a Nollywood movie where your wife turns into a snake at night. Thanks guys, I will be avoiding any chick claiming to be from Idemili like the plague. Matter of fact, I really need to start asking where people come from ![]() |
bjcole: very funny my brother, there could be some really bad situations, that one cannot help, but dis issue can stil be managed if one s willing. One area Debrief really didnt tell us is hw she may ve contributed to d problem. D man & d woman in an abusive marriage both ve faults. If it is really a biz venture, & u had failed @ one, & may be havin problem in d other, will u want 2 leave too? There is no good reason to beat up on your wife ever, talk less of repeatedly. |
ekt_bear: I had a conversation about this with my mom and some other family members.this is a mature way of looking at things. Congrats...btw, I wouldnt publish salary details online. You never know how it can come back to bite you. |
Sagewood: Nigeria is NOT ready for the State Police system. Corruption, poverty and illiteracy are stillI like how the end-all-be-all answer is always "Nigeria is not ready". If this is the case, isnt it a good idea to revisit the terms of the country and see if we should restructure it fundamentally? It seems like the whole thing was built as an impediment to progressive ideas. I suspect those against state police know this is where the issue is really going. |
bolayei: the books in the bible are accurate accounts of events but some other books where omitted for certain reasons. books like the gospel of Judas and paul, the gospel of Mary magdalene. some omisions from the books we know today, some omissions about sorcery, women and even the story of the virgin mary was omitted and the fact that Eve was not the first woman and who cain married and how men and women are equal since woman was created sametime as adam from dust and not from his ribs. The truth is if you dig into christainity you will find out alot of things but at the sametime you will understand why constantine ordered for the book to be compiled by the bishop at that timeYou are mixing up issues. Some of those omissions are legit. For example, the story of eve not being the first woman was cooked up by jewish mystics very late in the game. It obviously smacks of quackery. I agree that the bible as we have it today is very political, but it is up to a reader to figure out how to interpret what he reads. There is some good stuff in there still. |
Sammy107_d: My point is that you're unlikely to last more than a year on your first job. Consequently, your primary thinking should be how you'll be positioned for your next job. Think long-term. Entry-level pay cannot diverge that radically. You're young, and location should be a non-issue. Long-term bro. A 6month stint as 'debugger' (whatever that is) at Facebook Inc. on your cv will position you better than a year as an 'Interface developer' at freakin' Myspace inc. What's your business with financial position. Leave that for wall street analysts.Lasting less than 1 year at your first job is a red flag to employers. You should generally plan to be in one spot for about 3 years. Anyhow, I think ekt is pretty young, so he can afford one or two early career hits ![]() |
They are already preparing for 2016. Its looking like the republican party is going to get even more isolated and racist |
ekt_bear: But I'm already a huge snob when it comes to brands. And the comments of these friends of mine doesn't make me feel better about it.Have you tried comparing both on glassdoor? That is a good start. You want to check what other people have to say about the company, if possible. The reason is, brand names, along with "best place to work" rankings have more to do with marketing and HR savvy, and usually do not reflect actual working conditions. There are lots of "cool" brand companies that are absolute sh**holes to work in and this could be a killer for your career. In short: Pray about it and go with what gives you the most peace. From your post, it looks like company A. Forget about all that cool stuff - its a mirage and you wont care a decade from now. |
debrief08: 5. Most important, Money is not everything, don't bribe her into loving you or buy her love. Marry someone who you can respect and who respects you back for who you are and not for fianancial consideration.I agree with most of your points. Good luck finding someone whose love is based partly on your financial status though. |
Joagbaje: Tithe Is acceptable From those Who serve God. A sexworker is Not serving God.Stop posting your opinion. - you are not allowed to think for yourself. So, what does your favorite pastor have to say on this issue? |
pres-elect:How do you know this? |
igbo2011: Why do us Africans love our oppressors so much? Obama will bomb Africa if he needs to.And you are going to like it ![]() |
I guess this is a lesson for folks trying to make Nigeria better, especially those that live abroad. Now you know why things never really change, even though you keep hearing Nigerians whine and praying to God all day. Many tribal champions are not embracing their culture out of the goodness of their heart - sometimes it is out of insecurity and selfishness. And when there are no more perceived enemies, they turn on their own. I hope this potentially 30 page episode does not deter other Nigerian Americans from reaching out to be of help. Just be wise about who you associate with. Just because someone speaks your native language does not make them your brother/sister. |
ogugua88: Mark my words, this is the last time you will see a republican nominee really on the white vote. Whites are no longer the minority. They have a short amount of time discuss new strategies for the future. They'll have to open up to the same people Romney avoided. Best of luck to them... not.Everyone said the same last election. It is more likely republican party becomes more desperate, overtly racist and try to play spoiler |
latitidejavu: i said it last week that this guys political life is over.He never had one to start with. Dude is a joke, something of a village id10t. He is constantly full of **** |

LOL. This squares with what I've seen so far. White women are just more savvy about their baggage. The only reason men stick with it is the cost of divorce usually means loss of all you saved up. Oddly, European women seem be more grounded and easier to get along with, even behind closed doors. |
I see someone else posted this already. RIP to the 2 little boys. |
Police searching for two young brothers who were ripped from their mother's arms during Superstorm Sandy have found their bodies. The remains of Brandon, two, and Connor Moore, four, were discovered only yards from where they went missing in Staten Island, New York. The boys' mother Glenda Moore, 39, is said to have spent 12 hours screaming in the street after they were swept away, but residents would not help her look for them. The boys were sucked away by floodwater after Mrs Moore's car stalled and became stuck just before 6pm on Monday near the 400-block of Fr. Capodanno Boulevard in South Beach. Mrs Moore, a nurse, tried to hold on to them but was overpowered by the force of the storm.Lots of pictures in the link, but you get the gist. Anyone want to guess the race of the woman? You see stuff like this, and you wonder... |
rhymz did you just derail your own thread? |
Denise216: Did I blame AA men or just make you uncomfortable with the idea of AA men shaping an image of "Blackness" that works against any form of femininity. Square with the latter and there might hope for you yet.Yes you did. "Shaping" or whatever you want to call it is still the blame game. Accept responsibility for your own actions. And Im not uncomfortable or angry about anything |
People who use these expensive services to find a mate are usually too selective already. |
noblezone: Jump from apology to independence? Honestly I don't understand!Distant outsider? I admire your attempts at propaganda, but fortunately, we all can read here. Distant outsiders dont get almost a million pounds to do a task, without collateral. Keep trying. And Ojukwu refusing aid is not an opinion. Its a fact. |
Denise216: African American women didn't get the "angry" tag until they started identifying with being "Black" only. Around the late 60s or so Black men started becoming abrasive and hostile, basically equating Blackness with a permanent temper tantrum. Black women wanting to prove their solidarity took on that persona and its been downhill since. AA men are still angry but can be easily placated with money or sex, even under obvious racial conditions (selling drugs, making ridiculous music, etc.) Prior to the late 60's AA women maintained a separate identity and platform that allowed them to be seen as virtuous women even in the face of savage behavior from white and AA men. So the skin and feature thing was never an issue, being closely identitifed as "Black" according to black men is what set their femininity back. When you buy into the angry stereotype, black men and women end up blaming each other, conjuring false ideas as you just did, and then turn on each other. Little wonder the concept of a healthy functioning black family itself has taken a hit. Think people, and stop throwing stones at your own house. Btw, just because DL Hughely is black doesnt mean he speaks for the same, or has our best interests in mind. |
dear god, men are slow. Who puts a ring and recites vows to a woman with obvious issues like this? |
Larry Elder...trying to get back in good graces. He had the nerve to offer an unbiased opinion during the debate on Fox news. They immediately went to a commercial break, and after works Sir Larry was gone. I guess he learnt his place as a black man |
