The unions are the convenient scapegoat for not having enough money to spend. If the unions go down, you can kiss the American way of life goodbye. Union wages act as a floor for white-collar jobs. Like the ppl of winsconsin, TayoD will realize he has been taken for a ride, but it will be too late.

Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve.
Christianity EtcRe: Why Do Married Women Respect Their Pastors More Than Their Husbands by birdman(m): 8:50am On Feb 28, 2011
Joagbaje:
It's an issue of leadership. What kind of husband are you?. If your wife is problematic , the pastor that she revers would be the best person to straighten her up. So the pastor should be your friend and not rival. If he is not aware of your wifes attitude,it's your place to report her . Every pastor to my knowledge cousells women to be more submissive and prayerful even when the husbands is a drunk and wicked wife beater.

But if the man begins to give rules in the house to stop the woman from serving God. She will rather listen to the man of God. Because a husband who takes a stand againstvthe word of God has lost his leadership.
Zeal without knowledge. This is how wolves in sheep clothing become pastors and destroy lives.

Its just plain old insecurity. Plus the fact that they don't usually know what they want, until late 20s. Nothing really complicated about it.
PoliticsRe: Sanusi Rejects IMF Advice To Devalue Naira by birdman(m): 8:57am On Feb 22, 2011
^It would not surprise me if GEJ tried to challenge this. Perhaps in his cowardly way, use Segun "GS" Aganga.

PoliticsRe: What We Did Not Know About Buhari by birdman(m): 2:08am On Feb 22, 2011
The same Wole Soyinka that was a sworn enemy of Buhari is a key SNG founder, the group that has endorsed Bakare for VP. Why? because a Buhari with limited powers under a democracy is far better than a PDP with almost absolute power. Look how Jonathan has morphed, after only one year in power (not even full power at that). PDP must die. Simple.

GEJ foot soldiers running amok. one more reason to kick the slowpoke out of power.

vanunu:
One thing, that one cannot take away from Buhari, is the fact that he is a stunch Igbo hater and a religious fundamentalist, Nigeria don't need such a leader.
when he was the chairman of PTF under the late General Abacha, it is on record that Buhari refused to work on any road in the south east, this angered many easterners.
Please provide some proof. TIA
PoliticsRe: Bakare: What I Won’t Take As Buhari’s VP by birdman(m): 11:42pm On Feb 05, 2011
When GEJ first decided to run for office, I was jubilant. It seemed like he was a born administrator, and a different kind of PDP leader. I have been proven wrong over and over again. Two things marked my turning point from GEJ:
1. Allowing the importation o f petty goods which is sure to kill budding local industries. This move makes SAP (for those of you old enough) look like child's play. Having a goldman sachs exec as finance minister probably doesnt help. Ppl like Aganga have allegiance only to GDP and profit, the local people be damned.

2. When the independence day bombing happened, GEJ was the first to say he is "SURE" it wasnt MEND. How did he know that? What links does he have with this group? One thing is for sure, there are a couple of skeletons in GEJs closet with regards to Niger delta militants.

If someone thinks voting with common sense, is betrayal spirit, I feel sorry for them. Your ignorance will be your undoing.

I for one detest Buhari, but in a democratic dispensation, his excesses will be curbed. I wouldn't be surprised if he had tried behind the scenes to get an SE heavyweight like Utomi. Thing is SE politicians are not really sure what the want right now. If you want to gain power, you must be willing to compromise within reason a la Ribadu, or Bakare or Buhari. At this point, EVERYONE knows Jonathan's hands are not clean regarding Niger delta. It is obvious as day he has connections with a faction of those militants.

Do you actually believe that I actually believe what I type?  grin

I am here for shock value. Most of the time I do not subscribe to any of these beliefs.

And yes, this thread was in bad taste. But the fact remains, I don't care. Only a fool would actually think that I believe in such nonsense.
Don't back-pedal now foolish one. You have finally out-wised yourself and scored an own goal. At least you realize how dumb your post was. Take some time off from Nairaland to remove your foot from your mouth for your own sake, one day you go post the thing wey pass you.

At the very least, get permanent residency/citizenship first before you leave so that if things don't work out in naija you have an escape plan/some flexibility.

Doesn't make sense to leave the US in haste. Act in haste and you'll regret in leisure  wink
Agreed 100%. At least your suffering in the US has hope of good times if you can push through it. 2mill wont get you very far at home, and unless you have a plush job lined up, suck it up (like the rest of us). Who knows what another 3 years will bring? Probably better circumstances.

harakiri:
At age 15, i was bold enough to ask some thought provoking questions during bible class and i got rebuked in the "name of Jesus" right before the whole congregation is being under the influence of the "devil".
This had me laughing hard. Having grown up pentecostal, I can readily imagine the scenario.

trekkie:
how would you feel if you are maligned because of the behaviour of your children even after you have made every effort to teach them the right way to behave?
You miss the point. Its not about feeling. Some people are just unable to lie to themselves. If something doesn't make sense, why believe in it?
