Besides this story sounds funny. How is it that this so-called massacre has never come up in all Nigerian discussions of the war? How come it is not recorded in any book? I am from the SS, and I say that if the SE are not given the chance to produce the president from the south, then it should stay in the North. I have been very crtical of the SE, for their people not standing up to the chaallange, but now in both parties we have credible SE candidates. They have done what has been asked of them. Now the rest of us in the south MUST do the needful and support the SE, or else let the North continue to rule

President Muhammadu Buhari has signed into law, the recently passed National Health Insurance Authority Bill 2022, repealing thereby, the National Health Insurance Scheme Act, Cap N42, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.

President Buhari said at the signing of the new law that a Fund will be set up “to ensure coverage of 83 million poor Nigerians who cannot afford to pay premiums as recommended by the Lancet Nigeria Commission.”

He then went on to elaborate on how the Fund will be sourced: “For the large number of vulnerable individuals who are not able to pay health insurance premiums, a Vulnerable Group Fund will be set up to include a component of the Basic Health Care Provision Fund due to the Authority, Health Insurance Levy, Special Intervention Fund, and any investment proceeds, donations and gifts to the Authority.”

The President announced that the Authority will collaborate with state government Health Insurance Schemes to accredit primary and secondary health facilities and enroll Nigerians into the scheme in order to ensure the delivery of quality health care.

The new Act also enables the Authority and state governments to develop information management systems and digital records for better data collection, monitoring and quality assurance.

President Buhari tasked the Health Reform Committee to work with state governments, the Federal Ministry of Health and the National Health Insurance Authority to ensure the implementation of the articles in the new Act.

It will, by Constitution a president should get certain 25% in some states. So if election is boycotted and someone is declared a winner then it means it is an illegitimate government which is null and void and not binding on the people of the east

Is it your village Constitution you are quoting here?
Nigeria's Constitution states a presidential candidate must score both a majority of votes AND at least 1/3 of the votes in 2/3 of the states. That means at least 1/3 of the votes in 24 states. If the 5 SE states boycott, that leaves 31 states from which the winner can get the mandated margin from. A SE boycott will have zero impact on the legitimacy of the election results.

Ethnically there is nothing called 'South South' it is just a politcal construct to fit in all the minority ethinic groups in the south. As you say Edo and Delta are close becasue we were once togeter as Midwest Region and then Bendel state. We also have many cultrial and histroical links. As a Bini man, I feel totally at home in Warri for example. I can't say the same for the other SS states, and I don't feel any sense of affinity towards them. That's just the honest truth
