Keep in mind this is just the Russian dead. It doesn't take into account their proxy fighters (Chechens, seperatists, Wagner). Throw those in and the number is higher.

Throw in the Russian wounded/captured/deserted and the number goes higher.

Its been calculated that wounded is generally 3-4x killed. So that means they have 40k-50k troops out of commission. From an initial staging army size of 180k. No wonder things have basically ground to a halt.

I think that this problem, as repeated by Prof. Barth Nnaji, is well-known to both the public and private the stakeholders of the sector. But what curious minds like myself would like to know is how we can solve this problems, and also if it's the FG, state government, or the private sector that should be relied upon to solve it once and for all. We keep making this stable electricity issue seem like it's rocket science.

Perhaps it's a lack of will to solve the problems that is the issue because these problems have always been there. Why can't a solution be devised for the sector the way it was with the Telecommunications sector for example?

The only solution to the power problem is the total privatisation of the sector. We have seen this in the telecom sector, and soon in the oil and gas sector, when Dangote Refinery comes online. Govt should have role on the productive sector of the economy, other than regulation.

The problem here is Wike is trying to control the structures of Edo PDP, for his presidential ambition. That undermines Obaseki. If governor does not control the party machine in his state, he's effectively an "Ambode". I stand with Obaseki on this one

This is where you guys keep getting politics wrong. You need to forget sentiments and deal with cold hard reality. The North will not vote for a SE candidate currently. That's just a fact. If PDP field Peter Obi, the average northerner would rather vote A Yoruba. This is just a fact.
Now, your best bet is to support Atiku, and get the VP slot. The VP should work diligently to build trust with the North, so that at the end of Atiku's term, the SE VP would be the frontrunner.

Have we ever considered that violence begets violence? There are boarding schools here in the UK, but you never of the kind of extreme punishment being done to students the way it is in Nigeria. I've also never heared of any university student being killed by fellow students due to 'cult' or other issues.
I am not saying that everything we do in bringing up kids in Nigeria is wrong, far from it, for example installing good mannars, politness these are all worthy attributes that should be drilled into a child, but as for the beating, I honestly don't think it does anything postivive in the long term, and may actually contribute to create violent minded kids.

Its actually very possible. Is APC field Tinubu and PDP field Atiku, the SE and SS will vote for Atiku. I can't see Tinubu beating Atiku in the North. Its only Amaechi that might get SE and SS votes.

Russia admited about 500 dead,so you can be sure at that point the real number was closer to 3000. I would estimate that right now Russia has lost about 5000 men and Ukraine eassily double that.

Putin is nothing but an over hyped bully. He's only effective at pounding smaller nations like Georgia. Now he's meet his Slavic cousins in Ukraine. They are as mad and tough as the Russians and also are getting a steady flow of weapons from NATO. After 14 days of fighting his army has not been able to caputre a single major city and his airforce still don't have full control of the Ukraine air space. The guy don chop market for Ukraine!

So this one wants to be President, and yet he does think he should obey court judgments. Rubbish. He should obey the court and vacate at once!
