Ethnically there is nothing called 'South South' it is just a politcal construct to fit in all the minority ethinic groups in the south. As you say Edo and Delta are close becasue we were once togeter as Midwest Region and then Bendel state. We also have many cultrial and histroical links. As a Bini man, I feel totally at home in Warri for example. I can't say the same for the other SS states, and I don't feel any sense of affinity towards them. That's just the honest truth

For example can you name a single SE governor,serving or former that has come out to endorse Peter Obi? The core nature of the Igob man is indvidualistic, they are amazing achivers as individuals, but their lack of political unity(which tends to mean compromise and some stepping down for others) is what allows other groups in the country to constanlty scheme them out of things.

Certain elements in the North want GEJ back, not becasue they like him, but becasue they know he can only do a single term, so they think the North will return after 4 years.

It's a clever ploy, which may just work dependng on who PDP present. If ACP present GEJ, PDP may decicde to go with Atiku. He's the only one who can divide the norhtern vote. If PDP field Peter Obi, GEJ will defeat him with massive NW votes, unless the SW decide to support Obi, in which case a coallition of SW, SE, part of NC (Benue, Plateau, maybe Kwara) and part of NE (Taraba, Gombe, Adamawar) might be enough to get Peter Obi over the line.

Why are Atiku, Saraki and Tambuwal contesting? Please face facts there is NO WAY APC will zone its presidential ticket to the SE, and there is no reason for them to. APC can't be bound to choices PDP have made and vice versa. The SE have a strong case in PDP. In APC they have to slug it out with every other southern region

The unwritten agreement is within each party. You cannot say if I and some friends form a party today, we must present a SE candidate. We may favour a candidate from any part of the country. Whatever PDP and ACP have been doing will have no bearing on us. The SE can not be asking for special consideration in ACP, when neither the SS or SW have received similar consideration on ACP. PDP is a different matter, which is why I am saying its only in PDP that the SE can demand the ticket.

PDP and APC are DIFFERENT parties with different history. APC have had a northern president , so bu the unspoken rule, their next president comes from the South. APC are under NO obligation to micro zone to any region in the south, as they have not yet had a southern president. PDP have produced southern candidates from the SW and SS , so its PDP that have a moral obligation to give the ticket to SE. The SE have been loyal to PDP, and definitely deserve the ticket there. They have no claim to demand the ticket over any other group in ACP.
