EFCC will as usual not see anything to investigate here.DSS will not see anything wrong here. If it was an ex PDP state we won't hear word. |
So let me get this right. Buhari is prepared to grant ammensty to Boko Haram killers, and at the same time he wants to invesitgate Nigerian Armed forces for crimes of genocide. Wow na wa |
Jorussia:Wow, so you are in effect saying that everybody Buhari appoints will be corrupt, meaning that in effect there will be no 'change'?? |
AWONEYAN:I have been very critical of Buhari, and yes I called him a Northern extremist. I have to eat my words and acknowledge that on one of the most critical appointments in the country, the man has gone for merit. Well done Mr President |
PvtParts:Jega has given them PVC's. All the child beggers have one, there is no way a southerner can EVER win a presidential election in Nigeria again. You may as well all convert to Islam. The Jihad started by Uthman Dan Fadio is now completed, aided and abated by the ignorant, childish, Facebook generation. A generation that know nothing about anything. |
Greetings all. Please fellow Niaralanders, let us try to address issues factually regardless of our feelings for or against the person or persons concerned. On this issue, let me say that in the past I have advised Nigerians abroad not to return the country for a variety of reasons, indeed whenever the topic comes up here on NL and I advise somebody to remain abroad quite a lot of abuse comes my way, but that's fine, the fact is any of us can advice fellow Nigerians anyway we feel. However for Buhari it is very very different. Buhari is the PRESIDENT of this country. The presidency is more than just a job, it is also a symbol. Buhari is the living, breathing manifestation of our country. Anywhere he goes there is Nigeria, when he speaks, that his the voice of Nigeria. For the PRESIDENT of a country to tell fellow citizens not to return to the country is a monumental embarrassment and if we had a more active and neutral press you would be seeing the blow back by this morning. No matter how bad the situation in the country is, a President NEVER talks down this country, more so when abroad. For those of you saying that Buhari only said the truth, well there are many other truths, so what else would like Buhari to start saying? Maybe he should tell us all Nigerian students not to attend Universities as they are sub standard(It's the truth). Maybe he should tell all consumers not to buy made in Nigeria shoes as they are sub standard (It's the truth)...don't you see the point here? Just because something is 'The Truth' does not mean a President should go around shouting it, rather he should be looking for ways to change it. Why could he throw down a challenge to the the Nigerians in Benin? Tell them your country needs you, we need you to come back to Nigeria to help in rebuilding the nation, to help create jobs, to help move the country forward...That's what a LEADER should do. Buhari has once again shown that while he may be a very honest and upstanding man, he servery lacks in the communication skills needed for a modern leader. |
Brazil to play soccer on the beach |
Now that is what you call a leader delivering real change. |
This just just goes to show what happens when a country is run by illiterates. it's totally crazy to give a bail out to the states without conditions. Did the FG do any due diligence on the states finances? How can you release funds to a state, where the bank already has first call on the states monies, of course the bank will first take their share. If proper due diligence had been done, then the where a state is owing banks, the FG should have negotiated a debt restructuring package with the banks, and the FG would take over the responsibility of the debt, ensuring an agreed deduction from the states monthly allocation to service the debts. There would also need to be an agreement in place prohibiting the stare from incurring further debts, as well as forcing the state to undertake cost cutting and revenue generation exercise. But of course this is Nigeria, where people just eat pounded yam, go to sleep, and wake the next day and announce whatever policy they want, with no proper analysis or planning. Bloody zoo of a country. |
Until Buhari probes Obasanjo and IBB he can't claim to be serious in fighting corruption |
He looks gay self! |
PulseWeb:No be Tinubu say the man need 100 days for anything to happen ![]() |
It will not download on Buhari laptop for 100 days. ![]() |
If Buhari is serious he MUST open the Halliburton file. The Americans have indited certain Nigerian leaders for taking bribes, the file is there, this one does not need investigating as all the investigations have been done. If Buhari does not take action on Halliburton then he's nothing more than a vindictive, selective person and his so called 'War on corruption' will be dead before it even begins. |
ISpiksDaTroof:OMG are you one of those ignorant people who really think OBJ had ANYTHING to do with mobile communications coming to Nigeria? A little education for you, the enabling law for mobile communications was passed by the previous military administration. People were already applying for jobs with MTN to start setting up base stations BEFORE OBJ was even sworn in. Please don't come to the internet and expose your ignorance. |
Obasanjo, u dey see GEJ for your sleep? Everyday GEJ this, GEJ that, it's clear the man do you strong thing. Don't worry sha, Nigerians are not fools, they can compare both of you and know which one is the true democrat. GEJ was not perfect, but at least he never tried to rubbish the constitution for his own gain, and he never violated traditions by by sleeping with own relatives. History will be a LOT kinder to GEJ then it will for you baba. |
5% |
They will be paid....in the fullness of time ![]() |
Obama has wasted this visit on the nonsense he's been promoting. He should have focused on economic development and good governance, those are things Africa needs today. I was reading yesterday that George W Bush actually did more for Africa than Obama. The guy should head back to DC fast. We don't need his lectures on social issues |
Change you can believe in!! |
Every time Buhari opens his mouth, he gives his handlers migraine. it's becoming clear now why he avoided the Presidential debates, Nigerians would have seen just how clueless he really is. |
Weather there have been Homosexuals in Africa since the dawn of time, is totally and completely irrelevant. The simple fact is this. In most African countries today, the vast majority of people do not support the Homosexual lifestyle and consider it un-natural. The majority need to be respected. The honest truth is that even in the West there is a lot of Hypocrisy. They claim to be in support of Gay rights, yet I can tell you behind closed doors the vast majority of people in the west are also against the Gay lifestyle. They just can't say it in public because of the power of the liberal media. |
forkadict:My brother that's like me saying I would really like to rape woman, but the laws of the land prevent me from doing that. Would that be an ok statement to you? He should NEVER have such thoughts or beliefs in the first place. How can a PRESIDENT utter such things knowing how delicate Nigeria is? Basically he's saying left to him he would want to favor the North but can't because of the constitution. Once you indicate ANY type of bias in Nigeria you can be sure it will be used against you. Now if any SS/SE person is charged by EFCC , this clip will be rolled out. If any appointment is made to a Northerner(even if that person is eminently qualified for the post) This clip will be rolled out. If any developmental contract for the North is awarded, this clip will be rolled out. Can't you see the immense damage he's done to his own credibility?? |
Most likely they come from the areas that only gave him 5% of their votes ![]() |
BTW these are some of the comments El-Rufai made about Buhari in 2010. it's a shame he later turned around to support him. Those comments were actually the truth. Mallam el-rufai wishes to remind general Buhari that he has remained perpetually unelectable because his record as military head of state, and afterwards, is a warning that many Nigerians have wisely heeded. His insensitivity to Nigeria’s diversity and his parochial focus are already well-known. In 1984, Buhari allowed 53 suitcases belonging to his adc’s father to enter Nigeria unchecked at a time the country was exchanging old currency for new. Against all canons of legal decency, he used retroactive laws to execute three young men for drug-peddling after they were convicted by a military tribunal and not regular courts of law. Buhari was so high handed that he gave himself and his officials immunity even from truthful reporting. That obnoxious decree 4, against which truth was no defence, was used to jail journalists and attempt to cow the media as a whole. That tyrannical legislation shows the essence of his intolerance. These are facts of recent history. The story of counter-trade and import licensing, the cornerstone of BUHARI’S STONE-AGE ECONOMIC STRATEGY AND THOSE WHOSE INTERESTS IT SERVED, is a tale for another day |
otunsman:Actually I will have to disagree with that statement. The true Northern political class, the likes of late Sheu Yar'dua, Atiku, Bangangida...etc are actually very generous and believe in sharing across all the zones. The problem with Buhari is that he is a Northern EXTREMIST. Always has been as was shown during the sharia controversy. People were being killed all over the North, and rather than him to come out and appeal for clam, he declared himself in support of sharia across the WHOLE country. Did you hear such words from Atiku, El-Rufai, Babangida.... or any prominant Northern politician? Why do you think the Northern elites for so long did not support Buhari's ambitions? It's because they know him inside out. A leopard can NEVER change his spots and despite the best efforts of Tinubu and the APC to present Buhari as some kind of transformed gentle democrat, the REAL Buhari, the extremist dictator, who only cares for his OWN people will always come to the surface. |
forkadict:Excuse me, but how dare the president of a country say he will treat those who voted for him more favorably on ANY issues? He has no right to say that. In fact if we are to go by the letter of the law that is actually an impeachable offense. I don't care what the issue is, weather it is infrastructure development, jobs, appointments...EVERY SECTION of the country HAS to be treated fairly on EVERY issue. If Buhari does not get that simple fact then he's not fit to be president. Simple |
What an idiot!! I had to watch the video several times to confirm what my eyes were seeing. Indeed Buhari is living proof of the adage, 'It is better to keep quiet and let people think you are stupid than to open your mouth remove all doubt' I have NEVER heared a president of Nigeria say publicly that he will favor some areas of the country over others. Even if that's what he intends to do, you SIMPLY DO NOT MAKE SUCH STATEMENTS IN PUBLIC. This buffoon has given a golden weapon to his enemies to beat him with. The next few years are going to be sooooo exciting with this dull, brainless , dude in charge. |
IBB is the Don Corleone of Nigeria, NOBODY can touch him. The mention of the name Babangida causes Buhari to break out in a cold sweat. As long as IBB and OBJ are not investigated I'll always know that Buhari is nothing more than a noise making coward with no backbone. |
Is this new? Maybe if Buhari did not spend all his time criticizing everything GEJ and Dasuki did in terms of the war against BH, he would have seen that they had already given up on the US and started buying sophisticated weapons from Russia and China. It is to these countries we should focus for military purchases, while also looking inwards. There is absolutely no excuse why a country of 170 million people , can't produce it's own drones. |
It would be wise for the EFCC to also investigate some of judges who gave very strange judgements in the past. If the Judiciary is not cleaned up, then all these other investigations are simply a waste of time as most of the accused will simply be discharged and acquitted when the case gets to court. |
