If all the Federal positions go to Katsina state I don't care as long as they perform

For 14 of the last 16 years we had Southerners in charge how did we benefit? The leaders and their friends and family benefited and that's it. Let the North rule for a while jare.

Politics › Re: U.S., Homosexuality, And The Hypocrisy Of Nigerians! by bjdon: 9:30am On Jun 30, 2015
dearpreye:
Hypocrisy remains the worst form of corruption. If the US is now famously known for its sweeping stand in favour of Homosexuality, Nigerians are known for their despicable hypocrisy. I can stand the gay; but I can barely stand the hypocrites. Nothing disgusts as does hypocrisy.

That being said, how and why a man should be sexually attracted to another man is beyond my comprehension, and it's very disdainful. I still can't wrap my head around its absurdity.

Whenever I see the designs and contours on my woman, the whole idea of Homosexuality all the more becomes an unspeakable crime. Thank God our docile and overfed lawmakers, in a desperate move to salvage some of its battered image before the people, hurriedly passed the Homosexuality Prohibition Act into law years back. It remains a crime in Nigeria.

But this is the point of this article.

Nigerians are amongst the most religious folks on the surface of the Earth. It's only sad our religiosity doesn't run deep enough. Our society hasn't benefited much form our religiosity. The greater portion of those crying and abusing the US are Nigerians.

The US is a sovereign nation, and how it conducts it's business shouldn't be much our concern. We've got our hands filled with our own problems. We need to face them.

The last time I checked, the US embassy and consulates are still open here in Nigeria. We still troop into the US. I'm sure there are more than 100000 Nigerians in the US. And many more are praying, fasting and doing all they can to get to the land of Homosexuality. Till we stop making frantic efforts to go to the US because of its Homosexual law, we're not ready to make our stand known about it. The US couldn't care less about us.

As for me, I still prefer the Homosexual-friendly US to this corrupt, unworkable, backward and divisive nation of ours. We still lack the most basic of amenities. We're not even capable of self government.

Don't forget: we still use Apple products. Hope we know the sexual orientation of its current CEO? He's openly gay. The US is lightyears ahead of Nigeria.

Those who have killed and raped women and children in Benue, Plateau and other parts of the North aren't gays. Those who kidnapped and destroyed pipelines aren't gays. Those who have stolen our billions and have them stashed away in foreign accounts aren't gays. Those who have continued to ensure we live in darkness and poverty aren't gays. The gays aren't the problem of the Earth. They're not responsible for our dilapidated education and road system.

What's Nigeria known for? Terrorism. Corruption. Division. Rancour. Cheating. Everything abnormal. We're not in any position to criticise the US. It's our dream to be half as developed as it is.

Our hypocrisy stinks. The difference again is that we're a people without conviction and courage. We simply hide away in silence when our beliefs are threatened.

To hell with the hypocrites. Mind your business. The USA remains heaven when compared with this cesspit of monumental corruption and fraud. Nonsense.
Please calm down you seem quite agitated.

The issue of weather the US is more advanced than Nigeria or weather loads of Nigerians want US visa's is really quite irrelevant to the issue at hand.

FYI , many people really don't care what the US decides to do, weather it's regarding Gays or any other group. Please understand most people all over the world, not just in Nigeria have way more important things to contend with every day.

The REAL problem here is the US itself. They try to impose their values on everyone else. I'll be the first to admit that some values, like democracy, human rights, the rule of law, are indeed very worth values which should be encouraged and promoted.

However when it comes to social issues that's a very different topic. Societies have their own beliefs and values and we can't all be the same. Take Russia for example. This is an advanced proud culture. Yet the US continues to criticize them on their anti gay stance. Why? Are they not allowed to pass laws that reflect their own peoples values and customs? The same goes for Africa, the US continues to lecture African nations and insist that they promote the gay lifestyle. Why?

If the US adopts a live and let live approach, and respects the fact that not all the practices it endorses will be welcomed in other countries, then trust me, there will be a lot less interest and comment from other countries on whatever the US decides to do.

He wants to fight corruption.....Fine

He wants to expose past misdeeds----Very good

I hope he knows corruption DID NOT start with the GEJ administration. He could start right now, this very day, by simply acting on the Halliburton bribery file. This was a file compiled by the US so we can assume it's very detailed.

So Mr 'I will fight corruption' do the right thing today and act on the Halliburton file. (Or let me guess, nothing will happen there because many of your fellow ex Army generals are implicated)

Democracy 001 for Buhari's people.

1: You don't ban AIT or any other media house from Aso Rock. You have no right to do so.

2:You do not stop any govt agency performing it's STATUTORY functions as laid down by the LAW. This is a nation of laws not a jungle.

I am a strong critic of Buhari and this APC jokers, but I'll refrain from attacking him on this one. He is the president and should be afforded some level of comfort.

However a piece of advice for Mr President. As Dele Momodu pointed out in his article, the goodwill Nigerians have for you is fast eroding, you really need to start taking concrete actions that will impact the life of the man on the street.
Politics › Re: Could This Be The New America(photo) by bjdon: 1:33pm On Jun 28, 2015
I have no problems with Gays. If a person likes the same sex that's their prerogative.

Where I have a BIG problem is when we start to redefine society to fit gays. We now allow gays to have kids, given no thought whatsoever to the effects this is going to have on their psychological well being. How can a child have 2 fathers or 2 mothers?

From the dawn of time, in every culture and creed marriage has been between a Man and a woman. Yes their have been gay people historically, and in some societies like ancient Greece it was even condoned and celebrated, but never in the recorded history of man have to people of the same gender been allowed to marry and bring up kids.

Now let's take a look at a quote from the recent US supreme court rulling...

"The nature of marriage is that, through its enduring bond, two persons can together find other freedoms, such as expression, intimacy, and spirituality," Kennedy wrote. "This is true for all persons, whatever their sexual orientation."

Do you know the deep significance of this ruling? What it has in effect said, is that ANY 2 people can get married . On what basis now can a Parent be prevented from marrying one of their kids? Or 2 siblings from marrying one another? On what basis now does the law of bigamy stand? It is only a while (and I think not a long while) before we see incest and polygamy all upheld by the Supreme court.

As far as I am concerned the US has lost the right to be any kind of moral compass to the world. They have gone to far with this supreme court ruling, and it's now time for the rest of the world(Africa, Asis, Russia the Muslim world) to say 'Ok US, fair enough if that's what you want, but please don't lecture us in our countries, we don't support this move of yours and have NO intention of ever following suit.
Politics › Re: How Can You Entrust The Life Of The President To The Military — Ex-dss Director by bjdon: 9:22am On Jun 28, 2015
Once again so many of you are showing complete lack of understanding, about how a govt is supposed to work. This is why we have so many problems in this country.

As the former SSS director has said, the DSS has the STATUTORY responsibility to protect the President. That is the LAW. If Buhari does not want them then the law needs to be changed. When one man can decide not to follow due process and the law on one issue, he can in future decide to do the same on ANY issue.

Buhari's government have started on a very wrong note. They are getting it wrong on all sides.... maybe we should have insisted in sighting that WAEC certificate.

So many disjointed policies..... You lift the ban on furniture and textile thereby discouraging the local industry and two days after the ban rice, margarine cement importers from obtaining FX from banks under the guise of encouraging local industry.

Why take such step at a time your naira is struggling knowing fully well that these guys would dive into the parallel market causing some scarcity and driving up parallel prices?.... why not increase the import duties on these products instead to discourage import and encourage local production? why stifle an already struggling FX environment.

Absolutely silly decisions by Buhari and his co-travellers
My question is, who is making all these policies? As there is no cabinet in place is Buhari just rulling as sole administrator?
I think it's time to re-visit Babangida's coup speech, where he said one of the reasons they acted was that Buhari and Idiagbon were taking all the decisions to the exclusion of anyone else. Seems the man is yet to learn anything.

I love the Nigerian version of HYPOCRISY.
I beg tell them jare. When the ACP went around recruiting all theses PDP people what did they expect. Did Tinubu really think, that the likes of Saraki and Atiku would come into ACP to bow to him the way he SW governors do?

Tinubu needs to understand that ACP is now a NATIONAL party. No one person can dominate a national party. As fearsome and dominant as OBJ was, he did not always get his way with the PDP. That's just the way it is. The National Assembly is not the Lagos Market women association where Tinubu can just nominate whoever he wants as leader. If he can't accept this fact, then I am sure he knows the location of the nearest Lagoon.

Rather than boiling or roasting or frying, Buhari should wake up and get the list ready and stop blaming others for his woes.

Breaking News:
President Buhari's agent says he will not get a new team next season.

The agent to Nigerian superstar President Buhari, has confirmed to Kalahari reporters, that the player will not be playing in Europe next season. The agent said this is because the players insists on only playing in teams in West Germany or the Soviet Union.

' I have tried to convince President Buhari that there is no more West Germany, just Germany and no more Soviet union, but he is adamant that he will only play in those countries. We even got him a club in Russia, but he says Russia and Soviet union are not the same thing. For now I can confirm he'll still be playing with Daura United next season'

Calls and Text messages to President Buhari's phone were not answered. Kalahari reporters will continue to monitor this developing story.
Politics › Re: 221 People Killed Since Buhari Became President - The Cable by bjdon: 8:20pm On Jun 24, 2015
it's quite simple why this is happening.

GEJ after 5 years of empty promises by the Nigerian Armed forces to crush BH, and always failing, President Johnathan took the extremely courageous step to bring in hardened South African mercenaries-. it is these warriors who took the war to BH and in a few months did what the Nigerian Army could not do in years.

Now the "genius" of Daura did not like this. He made comments like 'It is a shame that Nigeria has to use South African mercenaries' so of course they are no longer used. And what is the result of this wonderful intellectual decision? BH are back on the rampage and over 200 have been killed in a month.

I've said it in a previous post and I am repeating it here, Buhari is an unintelligent, arrogant, out of touch president. The sooner some wise minsters and officials are appointed the better.

The man who said security would be his top priority has not even appointed a National Security adviser.

He has not seen fit to change the service chiefs even when it's clear they have failed woefully.

No sense of urgency, these human lives being lost, almost daily. How come in the run up to the election the armed forces under GEJ were able to subdue BH to the point where elections could hold, but now they are back with a vengeance. What has changed?

Please this ACP fiasco is just too funny for words. it's best we all keep quiet for a few weeks and watch as they tear themselves to shreds. How can this senate approve any ministers, when they are busy doing WWE with each other?

Boko Haram on the rampage, Niara in free fall, and all the ACP can give us is fighting Senators and a President who says he does not understand why ministers need to be appointed speedily.
