FamilyRe: Marriage Challenges And How You Dealt With It by Bokoharam: 9:01am On Nov 18, 2010
@poster,

As many people have talked about the CHALLENGES, let me chip in one or two things about the SOLUTIONS (DEALING WITH CHALLENGES).

I think staying close to God like many have suggested is a wonderful idea. God can do all things. I only wonder if BENNY HINN, PAULA WHYTE, and a host of other men and women of God whose marriages have crumbled did not stay close to Him.

The truth is that this issue goes beyond prayers. Both parties have to also work hard to keep the marriage working.

If u are a born-again wife, and u do not respect your husband, you do not satisfy his libido, u do not give him food (both physical & spiritual), u nag at all times, u hate his mother and don’t want to see his relatives call him (or ask him for help, when other people helped to raise him before u met him), you (AND NOT GOD) are the one ruining your marriage.

If u re a man, u abandon your marital responsibilities, keep late hours & return home drunk, you are not there for the family, u beat your wife, u do not keep the long tail b/w your legs; you create room to distrust, and worse you did not tell her the truth about your source of wealth b/4 u married her (e.g 419, armed robber etc), God will NOT come down to do it for u. U will surely destroy your marriage.

Besides, there is need for wisdom. Many marriages have already collapsed b/c of simple reasons other marriages have handled wisely. In all, there is no handbook for marriage. Only love, communication, common interest/common values can hold it. Prayer will strengthn all these.

Im sensing trouble here. Its like to wife has done something that the house maid knows about and she feels the best way to cover up was to prevent the housemaid for talking to you.

may be you will have to go back home early again and try to talk to that house maid u might just get some vital info. who knows
This above could be the case. However, very remote.

Alternatively, it could be, like some people have insinuated, that she is only trying to prevent putting a piece of yam together with a Goat; or a full-fledged goat before a hungry lion. The funny aspect is that there are similar tacit rules in homes where the oga bangs the h/girl. The dumb-and-blind approach will not and cannot be an alternative to a razor-sharp, habitual housegirl player of a hubby.

Wives/Women should think of a better way to keep their hubbies only to themselves, and not this style. She can as well gagg his manhood.

The man is very right. But, is that really the problem of Nigeria now?

Our problem is also not necessarily where the leader comes from. For those saying Hausa-Muslim, was UM Yaradua (one of the best presidents Nigeria ever had) not a Hausa-Muslim?
Christianity EtcRe: Christian Student Disrupts Jumuat Service At UI by Bokoharam: 8:34am On Aug 21, 2010
I condemn the girl’s act entirely. She went too far. There is freedom of religion and association even in Nigeria.

But, what bothers me is that why do our Muslim brothers start killing over such provocation? I tell you, if the reverse had been the case, nobody would hear about it, as it would be taken as nothing happened. Every day, I hear preachings from the Mosque taunting Christianity and even Christ that I believe. Christians only laugh at such, but an ordinary cartoon can smack of violence if it is against Islam. We need to be tolerant and civil.

1. N15million (monthly pay)
2. 1 million US DOLLARS (Sign-off Fees)
3. An Official house
4. Official car

Given the need to overhaul, revamp or grow a totally new S/Eagles, do you think this is too much for the job?

BusinessOhakim Blames Kidnapping In S’east On Failed Banks - What Nonsense! by Bokoharam(op): 7:06am On Jul 23, 2010
This sounds ridiculous, coming from a governor. Did other people NOT lose money to bank shares all over the country?

Ohakim blames kidnapping in S’East on failed banks
By OLUWOLE FAROTIMI
Friday, July 23, 2010

Imo State Governor, Mr. Ikedi Ohakim, on Thursday laid the blame of frequent incidents of kidnapping in the South Eastern part of the country at the door steps of the nation’s failed banks Ohakim, who disclosed this when he paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, said some commercial banks with head offices in Lagos had come to the east to woo business men, mostly youths, to buy shares, promising them huge return on investment only for the investment to tumble and their money lost.

The governor lamented that reports of kidnapping in the east was being over-exaggerated, and reasoned that the individuals affected by the whirlwind that swept the banks out of business some years back left most of them, mostly youths devastated and with no other option but to look for other means of survival.

His words,“You may have noticed the spate of kidnapping in the east which has been blown out of proportion. One of the things I needed to tell you is that people came from Lagos to tell us through a medium called road show and they told our people to buy shares and quoted all the profits our people would make from it.

“Our people sold their wares and warehouses and were assured by the volcanic marketing of these banks and they put all their money. Unfortunately these banks collapsed and most of them, who were young boys, were also affected.” He said he was in Lagos on a three-day working visit to meet with his kinsmen from the east who had chosen the state as theirabode.

He said he also planned to seek the help of Governor Fashola to get the banks to pay their depositors money owed them as a quicker means of eradicating kidnapping in the country. According to him, “We are trying to see how we can meet these banks and see how we can get them to contribute in mitigating the problem of kidnapping and I know you would support me. These banks that caused the problems are here and that is why I want you to help me, it’s better it tell the truth because heaven helps those who help themselves.”

Responding , Governor Fashola described Ohakim as man of proven integrity, adding that his first encounter with him was when they both served in the committee at the National Council of States in 2007 and had been enjoying cordial eletionship since then.

He added that Ohakim’s visit would rekindle the relationship between the West and East which two former leaders, Chief Nnamdi Azikwe and Chief Adeniran Ogunsanya fully represented in the first republic and before then.
Fashola remarked that Igbos living in Lagos had contributed to the revival of the state to a large extent.

But, it is NOT banks that collapsed Nollywood. It is simply the greed of producers & marketers who sold every copy to DSTV for a plate of porridge.

Joke is one actress I respect very well. However, she does not seem to understand money market & macroeconomic issues issues. When Nollywood boomed from early 2000's up to 2006, was the interest rate not much higher than it is today? So, what does she mean?

@0hsisi (Posts: 982)

Papa Ejima was right in most of the issues u challenged. Most women can do anything to get married (pretenses inclusive). They can condone everything, but the moment they get married, the case changes. I think this is the very reason divorces are rife. Women should realise this. A friend once told me what his colleague (a lady) told him: That she would rather prefer a short-lived marriage to REMAINING SINGLE. She claimed that society riddicles the latter. This was her reason to jump into one marriage as a third wife of a Hausa Alhaji.

Ladies should be bold to refuse to get married rather than deceive a man, only to get in2 d marriage and turn to devils.

No intension to insult, please.

Re: What Will Become Of Soludo?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some times i wonder the angle some of these our Nairalanders are coming from.

Some say he was responsible for job loss, and you and I know that Soludo as CBN governor was responsible FOR MASSIVE JOB CREATION/EMPLOYMENT for our graduates right from the time he entered as CBN governor till he left. Nigerian banks were almost 100 when he assumed position as CBN governor in 2004, and that was when every tom manliness and harry can just come set up a bank in his locality and collect people's money after some time, it will fold and Nigerian banks were so weak then and I believe we had CBN governors and nobody crucified them.

Soludo came in as a renowned economist, saw that all these banks can be merged to create a BIGGER bank and equally create more jobs for Nigerians, because as at then, Unemployment rate in Nigeria was some what a thing of concern. Thus Soludo brought the idea of consolidation, mergers, Acquisition, Take-overs etc, which everybody accepted but if you dont believe it, ASK ANYBODY THAT GRADUATED BETWEEN 2004 TILL 2008, the only employer of people were Nigerian banks, thanks to SOLUDO.

Consolidation made Nigerian banks to be able to compete with other foregn banks, it equally gave room for expansion into other countries. Take your mind bank those days, it was only First Bank that has branch across Nigeria although weak, but with the emergence of Soludo's policy, banks like GTB, Zenith, UBA, Access, Oceanic, Diamond etc could boast of having offsore branches doing good business.

Soludo was being professional with the banks as CBN governor as the r/ship between CBN and commercial banks should be like banker/customer relationship ie fiduciary and secret. He dosent need to come and stout shouting that this bank is doing this or that to the public in order to do his job. See some of the things he did as CBN governor:

(a) Do you know that when Unity Bank abi Bank of the North was going down, do you know that the bank was bailed? Do you know that the MD, Alhaji Bulama was removed and charged to court? All these, he need not come out on television to start telling you that this bank is weak and that their MDs have squandered their money, thus he was more professional and today the bank is coming back gradually.

(b) Do you know that Spring Bank had problem, did he come out to start shouting that this bank is dying and that their MDs have done this or that, rather after seeing, the best bet was for them to be acquired or merged in order to secure depositors money, thus the PHB and Spring deal.
(c) What about WEMA bank?

(d) Do you equally remembered that Soludo gave Commercial banks ultimatum to have common financial year by December 31, 2009, in order to really determine the strength of the banks and to equally stop some pranks being played by banks which has been age-long.

(e) Was Soludo the cause of global Financial Meltdown?

(f) Was he responsible for fall of shares across the world and in Nigerian? Because u knw majority of those non-performing loans were MARGINAL FACILITY. And plz can you tell me the collateral required for transaction of this nature :margin facility?

(g) Was he responsible for the fall of crude oil across the world and in Nigeria? Note that some of those non-performing loans were equally as a result of investment into oil and crude oil price fell thus some these non-performing loans.

(h) If I may ask, do you think Cecilia Ibru and Erastus are worse than Jim Ovia of Zenith and Elumelu of UBA, if u dont know, politics equally plays a major role in all these drama.

(i) Why do you think Sanusi signed the 2nd Quarter result of Oceanic bank in July and in the next month, you removed the MD that she cooked her books, that is to say he is equally an accomplice.

I want to tell you guys that all these bank issue and sanitization are more political than you people.

AS SOME OF YOU ARE CRITICIZING SOLUDO, JUST BE A BIT COURTEOUS BECAUSE SANUSI LAMIDO IS NOT A SAINT either. If not, the First Bank where he was coming from, had the HIGHEST NON-PERFORMING LOAN yet his argument was that they have enof deposit to shoulder it. If he is a saint, why did he leave JIM & ELUMELU, why did he grant debt forgiveness to the tune of billions to SARAKI & DANGOTE, why did he sign Oceanic Bank 2nd quarter result and later come out to nullify, why is he now saying that Nigerian banks should be CATEGORIZED along REGION, MARKET & SECTORS. just because his main aim is to come and create ISLAMIC BANKING, thus the impression he has created in the atmosphere that banks under other peoples regime are sham.

MAKE we shine our eyes and stop castigating SOLUDO who I believe kept food in some of our tables by his policy as CBN governor, even if not directly to you but to your friend, class mate, husband, wife, boy friend, girl friend, brother or cousin.

I rest my case
@Mkpotu
Where is Yar'Adua today? Are u not one of those who are angry b/c people are NOt told the truth about goings on in the system? R u nt one of those criticising the NA & FEC for playing hide n seek with Nigerians? People want to know what is going on. People need info, whether good or bad. The more u shroud things with secrecy & darkness, the more people assume & peddle rumours that will eventually be more harmful. Let us NOT play double standard.

I wont be surprised if someone comes out here one day to tell us his/her pastor said b4 they bear children, they should inform the him (pastor). Honestly, we unwittingly equate these pastors to God, and I hope we know the consequences of playing God. It's just laziness. Our people are lazy. They cannot read the Bible and unravel things for themselves. Yes, most pple go to pastors to inteprete every Bible portion; the pastor of cos, does that in such a way that favours him (the pastor). I have always this question, the Bible says a menstruating woman should not enter the church. Y is it that pastors refuse to obey this? Simple: the offering collections will reduce by over 65%. So, they tend to allow women to come to church while in their monthly period. Was that not a law of the old testament? Why abandon some and take some?

Pls, pls, pls, let's talk about something else.

Take note please, I'm not soiling anyone's name as I have no personal vendetta against Soludo or the CBN. And since you are an expert in banking, could you please educate me a little on why Sanusi, in his first few months as CBN governor, uncovered a decay in the banking system that Soludo (with all his foreign training and Pound Sterling salaries) failed to see? This is Nairaland, a public forum where people can discuss their opinions as it concerns various issues, according to their perception of the said issue, and that's why I've expressed my candid view of the issue. I am open to correction but I thought the Code of Conduct Bureau deals with public office holders, not 'FORMER' officers like Soludo. Moreover, the scam was discovered shortly after his tenure, so it's a case for EFCC and I'm pretty sure that they are not relaxing.
And please be informed that all commercial banks in Nigeria are public companies listed on the NSE, not private companies as you have affirmed. Finally, Soludo cannot be said to be a saint because he has not yet been turned in for questioning. You and I know that he failed in 4 years in the area where Sanusi excelled in a few months, and its only logical to hold my opinion that Soludo was probably privy to the recklessness of the Bank CEOs. He had the powers to make that change just as he had powers to replace them but he didn't. The big question is WHYhuhhuh??
@comoros
U dont need to say much. it is on record that the banking sector under SOLUDO never was audited for 4 GOOD years. While Soludo ws busy dining with Devils & taking 'egunje,' d banking was busy burning unmanned. U dont need to say much. U re very right. The guy was looking for two things, immunity from prosecution(EFCC) from the banking saga. The second is that he was looking forward to use the governorship election to launch Presidential ambition in 2015, since he propably now has more mone than Anambra state.

All of it has come crashing because he is not a politican niether is he a good regulator because he wine and wine with the people he supposed to be regulating that they got away with Murder between IBRU and Akingbola, there existed assets woth over $12 Billion, and staffs and public are going to suffer it.

I ask Nigerians to vote all incumbent especially PDP out in 2011 elections so that we can show the politicians that power belong to the people, because as it is now, th power is in the hands of the godfathers, and that way they will continue to dish us with poverty and contempt like YAR A'FAILURE has been doing for over 76days now.

PDP = FAILURE
Tnx for all these comments.

I told NL & Anambrarians to vote either Ngige or Obi (tested and more reliable pple), and I'm so happy it turned out that way.

- I personally wrote to Soludo to pull out of that contest, but he wouldnt listen.
- I reminded him of where his colleagues & friends (Okonjo-Iweala & Oby Ezekwesili) are hw they left with their integrity intact.
- I told him that the banking sector is still crying for help after it was dragged to hell
- I made him understand that the manner PDP fraudulently adopted him spells a second doom for him.
- I told him to leave out this thing for now until next election, but, power, we know, intoxicates.

Anyway, I salute his courage for congratulating Obi. I pray he doesnt actually head for the tribunal, b/c dt will further mess him up.

@Topic

1. Let him what things for a while and allow the dusts raised by his inability to police the banking industry to subside first, b4 thinking about dabbling into further politically activities. After all, he has made enough money including the ones PDP helped squander during his electioneering campaign.

2. I believe the classroom canNOT enter him again; he's now bigger than many Universities in 9ja combined; so, he cant lecture again. I doubt also with the mess he put our banks into, any international appointment will come his way again,
