Education › Re: FG Breaks-Off ASUU Negotiation, To Introduce Student Loans by Boss13: 4:42pm On Aug 27, 2013
I think it's really unfair is insult the government. The govt is willingly to discuss but ASUU do not want to bulge. I feel ASUU is selfish. Why because the 2009 agreement has not stopped them from producing graduates (which is their main objective).

They should consider the student at home and compromise a little so that the govt can grant their needs.
Education › Re: FG Breaks-Off ASUU Negotiation, To Introduce Student Loans by Boss13: 4:24pm On Aug 27, 2013
deor03: what i want the Federal government to do in logical order is this

1. Task NUC to carry out detailed study of the present universities, with a view to determining their worth in Naira and Kobo

2. Privatize all the universities and mandate all the private buyers to have affilition , including staff & student rotation , with Top 50 universities in the world. The buyers should immediatetly upgrade the universities to world standard in terms of facilities, labs , building etc

3. Grant student loans to all the students, upon admission into the institutions, and continues to maintain this award based on student's satisfactory performance ( measured based on Attendance, behaviuor and grade)

4. Consession reputble property companies to build world class accomodation with 24/7 power supply / high speed internet ( blocking all video sharing, Ph0nography , etc). Accomodation will be included in the loan

With government awarding 1Million Naira per student for each academic year, these can be taken care off. For 4 year courses, it will cost the government 4M , for Engineering 5M and Medicine 7M

Once students proceed on NYSC, the capital to be repaid should drop by N500,000.

Student should pay back the loan to the government over 20 years at an interest rate of 3% Max
For how long will this plan continue? Do you want the country to be so broke? How would corporate Nigeria absorb the graduates.

wy2000: Because Nigeria is credit worthy!

Also if perfectly normal (and even advised) to borrow for capital projects.

Also they loans are NOT always money, many times its the cost of the equipments.
No you are wrong. World bank does not do finance leasing to countries (what you refer to as cost of equipments).
What makes u think the country is not already broke.
How can u be borrowing money that u already have, and is being stolen by thieves that u know, but dont have the pancreas to open ur mouth and have them all arrested.
Sometimes i dont even blame the govt, i blame stupid people who see this happening, but instead are enjoying standing near enugu airport watching ethiopian fly.
In other countries, all this would have stopped long ago.
But here, no hope.
A country that is so bloody rich, but yet extremely poor only for bribery, looted and extorted money flying around and they call it economic progress.
May thunder fire the man who discovered democracy cos he only brought misery to this world.
There is no country that doesn't borrow. Our problem is transparency and accountability.

Our govt do not know how to communicate properly. Many will think that these funds were recently borrowed. I know Nigeria issued Euro bonds not quite long. The bonds were over-subscribed. Bonds are long debt terms (for those who don't know. It just a piece of paper to acknowledge debt).

I don't really want to talk about the other borrowed funds from world bank and the rest. However, I would suggest that the finance ministry or the DMO publish a monthly digest to carry citizenry along on its budgetary needs (which maybe deficit or surplus), funding needs, internal revenue generation, debt management (which would include monthly interest paid locally and internationally) and more importantly, which projects these funds are being channeled to. They should not also forget to include recurrent expenditures (so Nigerians can see how much govt officials are spending on the monthly basis).

I believe this will help before people start screaming another debt again.

Sometimes I wonder what they do with the funds in Foreign Reserve account and the Sovereignty wealth fund. Are these funds yielding interest where they are? Well it's a good thing JP Morgan has been contacted to manage our sovereignty fund.

A man who follows another fellow man for his spiritual upliftment is extremely dumb. @coogar go do a mental checkup on yourself so you can personally evaluate the wrongdoings of your pastor. I only feel for you and the rest of your fellow congregation. The next victim may be your sister or girl friend.

I judge people by their position in life. Your occupation can reveal if you are exposed or not. You should be the one sending me your resume.

MsSantaClaus: Spicy v, this is not about attention, after all we are all anonymous on these forums, because we don't want any. Someone said that does the Pastor have to bear the brunt of every woman who has faced such immoral proposals?

That is not the point either, it's not about him per se, it's about taking back our right to Not being coerced to give in by people in a position of authority or respect!
It is wrong for a person who has been put in that capacity to infringe on the trust bestowed on him, he is ,in all respects a Teacher to our young ones, a moral custodian, to even the adults in the congregation. Granted Ese made some errors in judgement, but I saw nowhere in her story where she refered to herself as a Victim on the contrary she said she was riddled with guilt, and shame, but you know what ,she was abused, because the definition of abuse is not as you think force or rape as some people have defined it here. Even calling your child Stupid once a day, constitutes some form of abuse. Why ? because coming from you, it means a whole lot more than coming from a total stranger . what annoys me most about these religious issue's is the fact that the congregation are so ready to forgive the pastor but turn on the victims to cry foul, look at the case of Pstor Oduleye, if that had been in Nigeria, he would still be on the pulpit preaching and his victims branded as the Devils messengers, that needed deliverance! If not that it happened in London where such things are taken seriously!

This attitude we have of not exposing things , or would i saying accepting wrong doing from, wealthy people, has permeated all aspects of life in Nigeria, the other day we heard of Ogara people hosting a Birthday week for a convicted serving criminal! Even to the extent of the pastor telling the congregation to emulate the man! to do what, loot and steal the common wealth?? what is wrong with these pastors? Bode George, another case in point, from prison straight to church!
Who then should we look to for our Moral Guidance? Anyone who decides to take up that mantle should know he should live an exemplary life , beyond reproach, and not indulge himself in seamy love affairs with his church workers!
God bless you madam and she is a woman for that matter.

spicy v: Well, I don't expect anything sensible from the boss of dumbstars!!! So, the only kind of jobs your depraved mind can conjure are pimping n the likes? Obviously, that's the ONLY kinda life you've been exposed to, so you are pardoned.
I am not one of the nairalanders who come here to create a false impression, a figment of an imaginary life. If you give jobs, you are either in the recruitment agency or an entrepreneur. However, if I ask you for the name of your company, you would not provide it because it is not true.

If you claim not to know about these immoral practise either in the workplace or in churches then you are in denial. I know and I have seen and I want you to experience the same so you will feel the same pain Ese is feeling right now.

@coogar when a man sees other people as illiterate and only him is the literate person, there is only one word for the situation - MADNESS

Let me tell you, a literate man, what your pastor should have done in this case. If Ese was lying, he should be suing her a$$ in a civil court in Abuja for defamation of character, he should have also released a public statement to refute the story and distance himself from it.

Your pastor, from your own literate point of view, chose to call her the devil and to leave the matter for God to come down from heaven and fight the battle.

Well I am in a village called Lagos and I won't mind you re-paying my parents back the money spent on my B.Sc my M.Sc and my organisation for my professional qualification, if you truly have the money (rather than making noise).

Do you want me to send their bank accounts so that you can put your money where your mouth is. Nonsense

coogar: so pastor biodun should answer for all the immorality against women regardless of his innocence or guilt? this is the most pathetic comment i have read on this forum.

nigerians, i hail thee - the only country where people are guilty before their innocence is proven. yet you hypocrites were blaming the ALUU mob. surely, if you were on ground on that day, you would have all taken part in battering innocent boys to death!
Your pastor is one of the immoral men we have in our society and to make matter worse, he preaches about morals. He should man up, admit his wrong doings and change from his stupid ways. He is yet to prove his innocence since the release of the news, why is he taking so much time. I guess working on some damage control public release.

There are some stories you just know are just so real. Like the CBN governor issue with a married woman. Maybe you too must be an immoral man not to see anything wrong yet. There is no fire without smoke.

This is not about attention. This is about saying the truth and saving other ladies. I can swear you have never been a victim and I pray you are. Maybe from an unrelenting boss and you know if you say no, you are back to the street with no work.

spicy v: Lol, see hallucinations! A careful observation and comparison of my posts and yours will clearly reveal who the "ranting lost mad woman is"! I repeat, what are you so bitter about?
She has to be bitter. I'm shocked you are a woman and cannot relate with this. I know what Nigerian women go through and yet have to keep quiet because of stigma. Our women continue to suffer silently and have no forum to express themselves and to save other women from these beasts. From Bosses, to male clients, unrepented pastors and wicked husbands etc

Shut up which God? People go around lying with this God, killing and molesting with this God. When he was doing it, he never considered the repercussions.

pDude:

So far, I view her as a devil.

Heck I am not even a religious person but these days, people shouldn't be allowed to fvck with others. She has been blowing hot for a few days but with no evidence in sight. She is definitely a devil, absent evidence.
That's why I'm not happy with her. She should come out smoking with evidences. She needs to redefine has objectives because she has become infamous with her story but maybe discredited and haunted for a long time. If she intends to fight the man do so by bringing him to his knees. Start a campaign against pastors who abuse women because they are upheld with high esteem. There are some many bioduns out there in churches.
Christianity Etc › Re: Pastor Biodun/Coza Replies Ese Walter's Sex Scandal Accusation by Boss13: 2:31pm On Aug 25, 2013
People should understand that churches are business centers and are set up to make money for the owners. So it is highly annoying that someone will come and tell me that he was called by God. Where and how? Crap

Of course the church will be solidly behind him. If he admits, business will close up. Members will run away. He think he is even trying to sort out the issues internally.

What I am not happy about with Ese is that when you intend to do stuff like this you must be prepared with loads of ammunition. You must come smoking with a cannon guns filled with evidences and your priority must be clear and not vague. Either you intend to take the pastor down or send him to hiding or if it is money or fame you want.

At this point people may discredit Ese's story and label her a blackmailer. Already the church is calling her the devil, the enemy.

I don't need to think twice to believe. I over believe the story. I will have to tell my future wife, the day u begin to tell me your pastor says this or that is the end of the marriage.

Pastors have a way to play with the psyche of women and exploit them emotionally.

APC needs to release a full detailed manifesto. All these segments we are reading from the press is not okay. They should organize them and publish a blueprint on how they would implement their manifesto if elected into power.

We truly need a political party that will make PDP lose sleep and I think the APC may be that party.

Actually Private Universities are better than Public universities. They teach better. They don't go on strike. However, they have no social life. Businessday just concluded their writers awards and 2 students from covenant university were selected. The overall winner is from covenant university. I attended a public university and calling private university a glorified secondary school is a way of making ourselves feel better. But the truth is, many of us at that time could not afford the high school fees or maybe the stringent laws attached to private universities.

But to note, the lecturers are almost the same (many public lecturers facilitate their services in private universities).

@t-something I have been to Uyo and I can confirm that the roads are world-class.

Akpabio is doing a good job. However, he needs to re-distribute the wealth and improve the quality of lives of akwa-ibomites.

Lagos is the most dirtiest city and the most disorganized city in the country. It has been ranked as one of the unsecured city to live in by an international journal. So there is little sense for people to say Fashola is the best governor with the chaos in the state.

Fashola deserves more criticism than praises so that he can work harder.
