Politics › Re: Presidency Warns Against Another Civil War by Boss13: 11:23am On Jul 16, 2013
If you want to know wat a revolution looks like go to egypt or syria. Families are losing love ones. Movt r restricted, food in poor circulation. The west and russia are profiting by selling arms. The leaders of the revolution are outside the country with their family instigating things.
We have neva truly survived the first civil war. When u lose a loved one due to war or insurgent u will neva really appreciate the peace u have now. Then corruption or unemployment will not b ur concern. Survival n safety is all u think. Go and ask kano, maidugiri and yobe residents

Chinese people are rude to blacks. I bet we will start to experience this very shortly. It is a shame we cannot make effort to manage our assets rather than always handing things over to foreigners. Well I guess we are good at managing corruption.
Family › Re: Should I Get Married Or Buy A Range Rover by Boss13: 4:13pm On Jul 09, 2013
Well my first initial thought was that the poster was lying because a tokunbo Range rover goes for 5 - 6 million. Well many people post fictitious stories too.

Poster please note that nairaland has audit trail and someone can dig into your past thread or comments. Be careful and live an honest life.

IMO - The poster is still young and opens thread he sees in his dreams or imagines.

taryour: If you go on in life with this kind of mentality, young man I really pity you. Who told you getting married and settling down is throwing money away or you have to spend millions to marryhuh You still leaving in a free house which guess belongs to your parents and not a rented apartment. <b>You don't have a property of your own and you talking of RRM/b>. You are opportuned to have such amount if its true, make use of your brain n spend it wisely. God help you
Kia you finish the guy. Guy honestly, go get an apartment first then get a smaller car, then flex around women and you probably might meet your wife. If you flex big boys with range and you live with your parents - guy you be borrow pose. Your reputation will go down the drain.

Sports › Re: Keshi To Oliseh: You Were Nobody When You Started by Boss13: 10:03am On Jul 09, 2013
I really don't understand the argument. Have we not been using foreign based players? Were they successful? They players Keshi used were not predominantly home-based. Foreign based players were part of the squad, it was a good mix just that the players were not successful in qualifying. Based on this, we should go recruit an entire foreign based players just because we did poorly in Conferedation Cup (please).
We have to be honest with ourselves. Our quality of football is not yet up to international standard, and it really showed in the Conferedation Cup. I believe Keshi is doing right for our football, get the best talent locally, train and keep them, give them international exposure and with time they will improve.

I am getting tired of hearing Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). What is she doing to ensure that we develop internally. Banks give loans at outrageous interest rate. They don't even lend to start-ups.
It takes a great deal of humility and sincerity to tender an apology such as this. I'm really impressed with this couple. To me they did nothing wrong afterall their wedding was modest in all fairness. If they had dressed so poorly they would have been condemned as well. People should learn not to judge and be critical of others rather tolorate and accomodate others.
The apology was for damage control. For the bride to dress that way speaks a lot about her personality. Many deeper life members do not have TV at home because their pastor told them not to but I guess John and Love are watching MTV Base live on big screen plasma
The problem is that China that we are now depending on to buy our oil is milking us dry. Taking our natural resources, illegal immigrants in the name of expatriates and very little indigenous technical workers and silly manuals written in chinese.

God help us rescue ourselves from ourselves
America intends to do the same. They realise that China made $200billion last year from Africa and they want a piece of the action. Africa must look inwards to develop itself. It must invest heavily on education and create the next revolutionary product.

Foreign investment is good, it employs people. However, capital flight will occur regularly.

D'banj this show off is unnecessary, un-called for and immature. We know you are doing well but don't rub it on our faces. It is insulting. Without the fans, there would have been no d'banj. I believe the fame is getting into your head. I once thought your separation from Mo' Hits would challenge you to produce quality music. However, I am yet to listen to a top quality act from you. Now what I get to hear is how much you have. I am not interested to know how much is in your bank account but to make me happy with your music.

As a big fan of yours I am disappointed. D'banj retrace your footsteps

I think many of us are reading this emotionally. The Uk has every right to protect their economy, likewise the same right we have to build our own economy. The Uk is only responding to the demands of its people, our govt is really not doing the same.

I saw a tweet about don jazzy and ruggedman giving quietly. So its better we keep quiet about this. Some people enjoy living a private life.
Politics › Re: 10,000 Jobless Amnesty Beneficiaries Return To Creeks by Boss13: 10:17am On Jun 21, 2013
It was only a matter of time...

From day 1, I never supported this amnesty move. It was never the solution but more like putting fresh paint on a damaged house. Many people from the creeks made something of themselves. Many Ijaw men work for big IOC's and other big companies. The creeks and Niger Delta villages are in dire need of attention, but these boys were never fighting for the people but for money.

Everyday, companies recruit subsea welders, fitters, e.t.c to work. These militants were trained in many of these skills that the industry needs, but the truth is that Working is hard. Genuine work is hard. The money does not even match the stress of the job. Some of these boys will never be able to work except by force.

I would have thought that during the amnesty period, the government would have used that period of calm to properly train the Nigerian security forces. Put in place measures to tackle any new uprising. Basically take advantage. BUT NOOOO!! They just relaxed. Paying criminals not to be criminals. Now they cant pay again, what do you think would happen?! The Nigerian Navy still cant properly police the waters of the Niger Delta. The Nigerian Police are still as incompetent as they ever were if not worse, the Army have their hands full with Boko Haram and Mali at the moment... So really, we are all heading back to square one.

You can take the militant out of the creeks, but you cant take the creek out of the militant.

Chaos part 2 is aboutto begin..
SPOT ON - BULL'S EYES
Politics › Re: 10,000 Jobless Amnesty Beneficiaries Return To Creeks by Boss13: 10:15am On Jun 21, 2013
A good reason why amnesty should not be encourage for Boko haram members. On a serious note, I thought these ex-militants were training on self reliance programmes. Why are they waiting for the government to give them a job. They should implement these trainings in their lives rather than going back to the creeks. These boys deserve the same boko haram treatment.
