Graduate route (link you shared earlier) is completely different from Student Visa

Please make sure you don't mix them up. Please refer to Page 1 to get the correct calculations.

teeboi77:
wow....pardon my ignorance does it mean that ONLY the primary applicant need to have POF for maintenance fee and balance of school fee?

We are family of 4 and we were planning to have the below:

School fees balance £2,500
wifey(Student) maintenance fee £9207
3 dependent (£6120 * 3) 18,360 total of £30,067 and 18,040,200 naira using 600 to multiply instead of 559 on oanda because of fluntuation.

Based on your assertion are you saying (3 dependent (£6120 * 3) 18,360) is no longer requiredhuh Kindly confirm boss.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 6 by Bourne007(m): 3:53pm On Oct 14, 2021
Even with this, where you get take am from?

You don't need to meet any financial requirements/maintenance funds/POF whatever you wanna call it. Just gather money for IHS and Application fees wink. Make we then spend the balance for ASUU joint cool

teeboi77:
sorry £6120
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 6 by Bourne007(m): 1:06pm On Oct 14, 2021
Where did you get £6500 from?

teeboi77:
Does mean the 6500 pounds for dependant is not needed if you are applying together and only primary applicant needs to have the maintenance amount and balance of school fees in the account...….sorry if the question looks stupid, just trying to have a good understanding of it.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 6 by Bourne007(m): 12:20pm On Oct 14, 2021
LOL .. I means exactly what it means

You don't need POF to meet any financial requirements if applying together or separately.

teeboi77:
Dependent partners and children, like Graduate applicants, are not required to meet any financial requirement. This is the case whether they apply at the same time or
separately from the Graduate.

this part bro
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 6 by Bourne007(m): 10:22am On Oct 14, 2021
Any specific part? I suspect @bolded and simply means your dependants must be on your student visa (as dependants) else they can't apply with you on the Graduate route

teeboi77:
Good morning greatminds, please can someone interprete the last paragraph below i copied it from https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/997587/graduate-route-v1.0ext.pdf

Assessing applications for dependent partners and dependent children

If a dependent partner or dependent child is applying at the same time as the
Graduate, the applications should be considered together.
Dependent partners and dependent children are not required to apply at the same
time as the Graduate.

A dependent partner or child must have, or have last been granted, permission as a
dependant partner or child of the main applicant
or have been a child born in the UK
during the last grant of Student permission.

Dependent partners and children, like Graduate applicants, are not required to meet
any financial requirement. This is the case whether they apply at the same time or
separately from the Graduate.

Isn't this what you guys are looking for

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/points-based-system-student-route

FYI There is always a caseworker guide for any application you make. Just google and it comes up

Jihbolar:
There is a document you can read to give you guidance about refusal and ban. This doc is for UKVI caseworker, though I got it on the internet. Share your email

Care job isn't on the list of professions.

ndidibabe:
I'm glad to inform you that, as a Tier 4 student in the UK. You're no longer restricted under 20hrs work limit anymore, provided you pick up care job.

Our commitment is far beyond securing a Visa but to make you comfortable once you're in the UK by getting and linking you up with a reliable CARE job once you get to the UK.

So the news is as long as you are doing the CARE job, you can now work indefinitely.

Please find the attached for more information.

Private accommodation like the one mentioned are usually on a high side. Maybe look for shared house accommodation. It's slightly cheaper than these ones.

ocpaschal:
I'm wondering about d same thing... my brother wants to book accommodation b4 arriving at Chester, UK. But the private accommodation cost on sites like AmberStudent isn't funny at all.. what is the cheapest site for booking private accommodation in UK?

TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 6 by Bourne007(m): 6:54pm On Oct 11, 2021
Main applicant only gets CAS. You then have to separately meet the requirements of dependants during your ukvi application.

Hope it makes sense

stelor:
Good evening everyone, please for my POF for the purpose of CAS, is it mandatory for me and my 3 dependent funds to be in my account statement for 28days before I submit it to the school to get CAS?

Or Just my POF only for the meantime to get CAS ?

Please, I want all your contributions as I am confused about this.

Care role doesn't appear on the list of professions. It also says till September 30.

hustla:
Yeah, it's true and on their website

The care job has to be via NHS though
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 6 by Bourne007(m): 12:28pm On Oct 10, 2021
Yes state the refusal.

Say you were denied as a minor 18 years ago and father doesn't have the refusal letter any longer. They will look it up but doesn't affect your application in any way

cutelekush01:
Hello Everyone,

I was denied UK visiting Visa when I was just 15, it was during the era of old passport before the Ecowas passport . The reason for denial was catchment area(I lived in Ibadan but applied in Abuja with my father). I was told by my dad but he can’t find the refusal letter anymore because it was 18 years ago.
I will be applying for student visa by December.

1) Do I need to state that I was denied despite that I was just 15? I wasn’t even aware then
2) Can they still have the info on the old passport since we now use e passport?
Please I will be glad if the gurus in the house can help with my question. Thank you.

6pm - 1am = 7 hours ::: 20 hrs / 7 = 2.86 (Approximately 3 days) a week

It's simply math. There's nothing to enlighten tongue

Enraf:
Please @justwise and @sniperaz we mnes more enlightenment about this 20hrs work limits and the implications.
You guys should help us to get it clearly,
For example if one gets a job 6pm to 1am permanent night shift and it Pays around 12£ PEr hour.
What are the risks?
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 6 by Bourne007(m): 10:46am On Oct 05, 2021
You keep saying declare and pay tax.

This process is usually done when you are self-employed and engage in business activity. Students are not allowed to do either

sniperaz:
Then declare and pay the tax of our earnings that HMRC does not know about. My point is, there is no restriction as to your earnings inasmuch as there's restriction to the number of hours you can work. So get creative and pay your tax.

And like I said, 90% will still do care and security job, but for the 10% who can see beyond, the possibilities are endless.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 6 by Bourne007(m): 10:19am On Oct 05, 2021
Any student can do any job at any level be it a teacher/care/Dr/Security/ IT as long as it's within the rules of the book. You can't you come here and say "as long as its not reported to HMRC."

sniperaz:
By all means, you can do care work and security work, no harm in that. smiley
But for those who are ready to push themselves, there's no harm in that and its not a crime either.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 6 by Bourne007(m): 10:08am On Oct 05, 2021
Imagine being haunted by both HMRC and UKVI grin grin

justwise:
“ Essentially” you get caught and book thrown at up.

“ Essentially” that online business you think it’s hidden from the authority get you in hot water in no time.

Sometimes I read posts from people here trying to act smart I laughed .
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 6 by Bourne007(m): 9:08am On Oct 05, 2021
This is simply tax evasion. Foreign income will usually be taxable if receiving "salary by direct credit to your account" in UK. Going by your example, even the business in Korea will do their necessary KYC

sniperaz:
Essentially, you can carry out any 'offline' business as long as its not reported to HMRC.

For example, you can be consulting for a business in Korea and they pay you your salary by direct credit to your account as services rendered, then you're fine.

The second illustration: 20 hours does not mean you cannot earn far more than someone who is engaged full time.
For example: You can be engaged 20 hrs but earning £40 per hour(depends on your skill set and the service you can produce). That brings your monthly salary to about £3200 per month.

And please don't ask me what kind of jobs are those. People need to be very creative.

Essentially, be creative but don't break the law.

NB: I know 90% will do care jobs and security but atleast the remaining 10% need to hear that there's something else out there.

They have all your information with your GWF number. Uploading stamp isn't necessary

vickyuche:
Yes, I filled in my GWF number in their application, but what about the documents for upload. Can I upload the Stamped Entry Clearance?
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 6 by Bourne007(m): 11:28pm On Oct 02, 2021
Use reference number attached to your letter or the GW id

vickyuche:
Pls, Can I used my stamped entry clearance to apply for visa for my dependants? I don't hv my BRP yet, cos I just got into UK and on quarantine.

Will it be alright if I use my stamped entry clearance (visa vignette) since my BRP isn't yet available to me?

Again

UKVI will accept money that is frozen in a certificate of deposit. However the certificate of deposit must prove that the money has already been held for 28 days.

sniperaz:
No, you cannot and you should not.

FD's are not funds available to you. As the name suggests, its a FIXED deposit.

@Justwise and guru in the house,

I would like to confirm if it is advisable to use fixed deposit investment as Proof of Funds (POF).

If yes, how do i go about it.

Thank you

Dependants usually wouldn't get an exemption

Preshyi:
Hello,
I know this council tax exemption has been discussed before now but I just called the city council to ask if my husband is exempted from paying council tax and they said No. Is this correct and what's the best way to go about it please?
