If this child can speak, why are the perpetrators being hidden? If this child can speak, the others must confess to their crimes. There are certain crimes in which children are judged as adults, and this should be one of the cruelest and aggravated of such crimes.
Can't understand why the parents of murderers tend to feel their wards are angels in need of protection. Being a good parent doesn't mean supporting ones children in evil.
One way or the other the truth will come out. Let's hope this is a real lead. Not a game from culprits or their supporters.
prince4pro2: Met this snake today on our way we let it go . Nairaland snake masters oya gather around is it venomous snake or not?. Don't know how to upload the video
Magnoliaa: Thank you, Darling! I can't even wrap my head around the outrage at all. Make dem go sit down, joor. You meet man for Tinder or Facebook, wahala. You jam man for road, problem. Fornication.
Okay, come and meet other godly people of similar values oh, a dating app by the church, another issue.
People are DATING already. So what's all the pretense for? Why not give people the avenue to do it the right way and openly, instead of pushing illicit acts underground, to places that breed more pre-marital sex and immorality -- which is what they are trying to avoid?
You can say it again.
People become so religious and lose focus. The app is a welcome development. And it's even good that it's a church proposing it. Real solution to real problem.
paulolee: congrats nsofor, I remember his time in eagles wey e de score Tunder bolt shots from long range like d Brazilian andraino.. it seems he has been tied down by this beautiful Victoria but I dnt like dt topless baby bump photoshoot dey both did n it look asif nsofor was forced bcoz dt isnt our culture
Your culture? Lol.
Is he still Nigerian? Clearly he doesn't care for your culture and knows exactly what he's doing.
Terrier99: This Leke lack sense. He is RCCG's Fani Kayode.
If he wants to condemn something done by the church, there are proper channels to do that. He knows that and he's very much aware as he is the Head of Pastors' Seed Fellowship. He's just a blockhead who loves social media attention. He probably sees himself as another Speed Darlington.
AsomArchitectNG: I see nothing wrong in it if it's actually meant for the the purpose it was created.
It's too bad too many people are so religious.
Many people stay single for ages, fall into fornication, when they could be with their own spouses if they were able to communicate with them through an app earlier on. Why go from one prayer ground to the other when you can find your spouse with a click? God mustn't do everything for people. People can help themselves, too.
These are the same old fashioned people who rush for IVF when time is running out.
There's no template on how to marry, have children, work or live.
The app is a good development. The only people against it are those who like mocking women who are single. The app would invalidate their pleasure.
AfriNotesNEWS: I once went to my church.. wanted to see the Pst..
Things are not going so well with me and my family then..so I needed prayer as a believe prayer will do alot in solving most of the issue
So after Sunday service..I walk to see Pst..it was a Big Church.. among top 5 biggest Church in Nigeria
But I was stop by one of the Pastor..who offered to hear from me reasons why I wanted to see senior Pst
So he asked me..why do you want to see the Pst...
I told him..I need prayer
So he ask me what was wrong
I took my time to details to him what am passing through.. I just graduate from University and will leaving to NYSC and more over my family are passing through difficult time.. we just lost our a years plus ago
I was surprised after telling the Pastor all this..
Only for the Pst to ask me.. Am my a tither?
I answered, Yes I'm..I do pay my tithe
So he ask again. Have ever eaten you tither before.. I mean are you a faithful tithers.
And I told him, I was not...am a student..before now.. some time I eat my tithe
So the Pst conclusion was.. my problem and that of my family. Was because am not a faithful tither
That I don't need prayer, but consistent and faithful in tithing...
After hearing this..I failed off. Went into deep depression. Start regretting all the tithe I have eaten..
Including the 100 naira profit I once made..which I eat the 10 naira tithe fee on it
This regret and depression never go a way so soon. It stays with me for years..not until I came to the knowledge of tithe.
May God continue to help us
Tithes have nothing to do with it. You people say that nobody knows the way of God, yet you say it is because of tithes. Isn't that blasphemy?
kingxsamz: Why do religious folks think their problems will disappear when they involve their gods?
Said gods promise so much. Would you create/birth a child be theoretically successful and happy, but if it is to suffer, and when it cannot cope you would reject it to just watch it suffer after that birthing?
That is the claim religious folks have. That they were promised help from their creators.
HabaHaba: Yes teachers were uninvolved in the lives of the students, but have u considered the school policy of not allowing teachers to discipline their students? Because of the huge school fees paid in these private schools, the children are usually ALLOWED TO GET SPOILED!
Rich children's schools are usually faces with this kinda of problems.
We wey attend public schools those years of yore, who u be to bully your classmates like this?!!!
Teaches go flog shit outta your ass on Assembly!
Well, i see it as Time has Changed, so are the challenges bedeviling our children, bur any body wey try to test me with my kids go Jam Madt Trailer!
Make we die togeda!
It's not really about teachers disciplining constellation, but about their presence. I had teachers who watched over us during break time, and encouraged indirect communication. If anything was noticed, it was reported to parents immediately. Without "discipline" except informing the parents of the bully and a suspension/detention.
I can't tell if it is a thing in rich or poor schools, but children are unspeakably evil without adult intervention.
user294: The bolded part made me remember the novel we read in senior secondary school, Lord Of The Flies by William Golding. Humans, and mainly children unsupervised can become very base and animalistic. Glad to see someone in the know. Without adult control, children are monsters.
Humans, including adults have the same tendency, but maturity and refinement helps us subdue such primordial tendencies. I was once a boarder too, in short, all of my secondary school life was spent in a boarding school. It is still the best period of my life, even now that am in my mid twenties. I can count the number of times I was bullied, maybe twice or thrice at the most. The secret is, I was quite intelligent and smart. I knew my rights, right from early age, and despite being an introvert, I was always ready to fight even my seniors if they crossed boundaries. Like this a lot. Most children don't know that can fight back via adult authority when they find themselves in this situation. Teachers need to be on hand and observant, too.
Parents should treat their kids with love and honest friendship, no politics. Let them know they have your support at all times. Be their true friend, that when things go south, they can turn to you. Bullies are scared of those that know their right and will stand their ground. Therefore train your kids to be the biblical "wise like a serpent, harmless like a dove". When they grow, you will be grateful you did this, because even a lot of adults today are peer-pressured into so much vices, like the drugs and rituals epidermic ravaging Nigeria today. You've just about said it all.
It helps to note that teachers were uninvolved in the lives of the students, and that helped the bullying. Where there is no adult presence, children will do their worst. At least you had the strength to tell your parents. It helped.
We have all been touched by bullying. Some of us here are the bullies and others are the bullied. Remember that.
If you are eating it because you're hungry and it's available meat, no problem. But if you're killing it just because you can, to eat "sacred" meat, then that is evil.
Maxymilliano: Why do people forget autopsy in cases like this? Since the school said he fell, hurt his leg and complain of hips pain, an autopsy will reveal what happened to him.
The family should expect just two things, a broken bone and a dislocated hip if that is possible. But if there is any other blunt trauma to his body, they already won the case. Simple.
Nigerians are allergic to autopsies. The same way they are allergic to making a will.
That was a terrible video. He deserves justice, even in death. The students who did this to him need to be dealt with.
Deborah98: Wow this is good news. Boarding school that used to be fun is now a den of mischievousness and indiscipline. I'll be a liar if I didn't have one or two of my school mates then narrate their ordeals to me. 60% of school children aged btw 9-15 are sexually harassed, abused and even face worst sexual perversions than we know. Parents and guardians here it's time to take the bull by the horn, don't neglect early signs of discomfort exhibited by your child and ward. I've told people times without number not to shun their children's plea of not wanting to go to school or see this particular teacher. Know why he or she dislikes the teacher, interrogate them in love and by so doing you'll be winning their tender hearts to expose more evils to you. Peace.
It's always been a den of mischievousness. All schools are.
This is good progress. All the doubters will soon face the law, too, because it's astonishing how people on this forum were telling the mother to shut up and believed the evil boys were innocent just because males were under fire for rape once more. Some even justified it by telling us how they were raped so the mother should keep quiet, because she was making a "big deal" out of nothing. Some said she was greedy to sue for money.
Divoc19: That is where we as parents should get closer to our children
Not necessarily.
On school grounds it is teachers who need to do that.
Schools should have counseling units, and teachers should take take reports seriously. There are some encounters in school that a child fears to tell their parents, but can confide in teachers with ease. Not because there's distance in the parent-child relationship, but because.
Of course as parents we can't neglect our roles and need to be vocal. I think the problem is that many times we expect our children to just know that they can meet us for anything, but we never tell them so.
CandyOps: Bullying in secondary schools is as old as time. Back in the days in FGC the senior boys then will kpokpo you to the extent that we had to leave the dormitory and sleep in classes at night or in the bushes. It was so horrible that even our house masters and supervisors couldn't do anything about it.
They beat us like criminals used planks 2by2, iron buckets, chains, edge of cutlasses, and their fists. It was so bad that whenever you see a student with a broken arm at the sickbay the first question he'll be asked would be, "who beat you up?"
It was so disheartening that the thought of going back to school after the mid-term break will literally make our hearts race and you will feel sick to your stomach.
The only solution to that would be to look into the authoritarian parenting style we have in Nigeria. The act of flogging or physically abusing kids when they err should be made illegal or proscribed. Because I believe the family is the cell of a society and the way our parents tidy our fxck ups is the same way a military man or police will tidy your fck up.. when you do something as simple as piss him off
That same system of rule is what is replicated in the senior boys that bully kids. It won't stop as long as we have a culture of physically publishing our kids. It's a trend we instilled in them. Spare the rod and spare the child.
I'm not sure I can put my kids through a boarding school after what I experienced. And this was more than 15 years ago. If something wey dey happen since 15 years ago no fit stop wetin make you feel say e go stop in another 15 years in the future??
I don't think it's right for parents to physically assault their kids in the name of punishment because there is no gauge to how much beating the kid deserves. Besides, there is a thin line between abuse and reprimand by flogging.
It's a major sign of bad parenting.. and as you know some trauma especially those experienced as kids or adolescents may lead to psychosis later in life.
And the underlying psychotic disorders will come to light as soon as the victim engages in drugs like weed, alcohol intoxication or some takes some prescribed psychotropic medications. Which is why it is bad to give or share weed with your friends wey never take am before.
You don't know who has a low-key psychosis
If you talk now, them go begin quote backward moral proverbs for you. Just watch
Your post was going reasonably until you mentioned parenting.
You are wrong about that.
That you were brutalized doesn't give credence to your claim.
Even in countries where children aren't "authoritatively parented", all children will revert to the exact violence/evil you refer to without the presence of adult control. What you see that happened here is exactly what happens anywhere else in the world, too. It happens in frats and sororities, too, and has nothing to do with Nigerian parenting styles and if they are "physically assaulted" at home or not.
Let's not get into the bullying part of it. Or if Western parents cane their children or not.
Just know that worldwide children are growing and testing the limits of their strength to do whatever they wish to (bullying, murder, abuse, rape, terror, hacking). It is only the law and adult presence/control that will deter or control them.
It is simple: without adult/lawful control humans will always revert to their basest instincts in which the strongest has the most power. Everyone craves power. Especially children.
grandstar: The problem is that many men dont want to marry foreigners. They want to remain "local" in and out
The problem is that many foreigners aren't as interested in marrying Nigerian men as Nigerian men are interested in marrying them, as we would like to think.
spiceadole: Nigerians abuse antibiotics a lot and it's sad. Herpes is a viral infection.. Even though, antivirals may help but not curative. The disease is self limiting.
Surprising mutant bacteria haven't overwhelmed Nigeria, what with the way they consume antibiotics:
Need an abortion? Guy, give her beesham amcloz. Can't breathe? What you need is IM shots of Rozphyne. Having persistent headaches? Don't waste your money going to the hospital, just go to a pharmacy and ask for meteordinazolll, make sure you take 1g twice every night.
Not in their world. If it doesn't fit the templates they've created online in which only men do these things, they will shout their assumptions over everything else. Half of them are in some Forest killing snakes beneath the canopy.
ziondaughter247: Very toxic forum. But I have stopped being upset about the toxicity here because 99% of the small boys that spill trash here about women have no life. Forget oooh, most of the people here forming red-piller bulshit are actually in their village looking for snake to kill and mention lalasticlala. They don't even have hope of visiting this so-called abroad in this life. This is the only place they get to feel like men probably because it's a faceless forum. I just pity the SIMPs (probably part of the 1% who have a life) who listen to this bullshit advice for lowlifers and try to apply it in the real world.
Lol. You can always tell the economic class of a man by the way he thinks about women and treats them.
Most of them post from a place of bitterness. Women will always bring facts out, but the gender that claims to be logical tends to go by the lines they were taught.
It's too bad teenage boys will grow up reading some of the most disgusting, toxic and bigoted things about women, and think it is normal and the truth. That is actually the point of whoever began these threads (think we all know the two people behind the wave of misogyny on the forum) and the mod that pushes them to the front page. Without knowing it, over 80% of the men post the exact same misogynistic posts, with very few capable of thinking for themselves. The few who can are cyberbullied into the psychological games they play here
There's a gay/inncel/embittered/misogynist (AKA red pill) mod behind this, and a crew of his content creators in the same club.
abbey621: You're reading meaning into nothing and putting words in my mouth, the response was to a MAN having doubts about marriage and bringing his spouse abroad. Whatever issues you've got with the male gender is entirely your own and has nothing to do with the discussion so miss me with the BS!
Read your initial post loudly and tell us what words were really coming out of your mouth, sir.
abobote: Me I will be taking my wife and kids by January, I just have to do it for the kids
Why bother having a wife if everything you do is for your kids? If you don't want her, why don't you just walk out of her life and stop hiding behind children? You think she has not noticed it?
The way you men sound as if you are with the devil, why don't you just damn relationships with women and have them with your children? Are you a saint?
Internalized misogyny has made this place toxic. There's nothing new to see. Same regurgitated anti-female posts and threads.
abbey621: In life always ask yourself what is the worst case scenario? Once you can answer this confidently, just prepare for it. Whether you marry Amaka from the village and bring her abroad or you marry Vivian that is already abroad, women have one thing in common, they can do and undo blah blah blah. Forget years of love, forget all the lao lao you've done for her, once a trigger is set in a woman, my guy forget about it!
The question is simple, will you be one of those guys that falls apart just because something went wrong or will you be a real nigga and rise above it? Don't let fear cause you to miss out on your soulmate, don't let fear engulf you with so much negativity that you automatically make every woman you meet an investigative case. It is okay to trust but only after you've made yourself comfortable with the reality of asking WHAT'S THE WORST THAT CAN HAPPEN?
If you're not comfortable with the answer then you're not ready for marriage, for marriage itself is making yourself vulnerable and trusting that the vulnerability would not be used against you. If it is eventually used against you, trusting that you've prepared for it and you are able to accept this is just a reality of life, for all is fair in love and war my nigga!
@bolded:
That's because men are innocent tender little lambs who do no wrong, right? Or because it's another one of the numerous baseless male assumptions perpetuated as if it is the law of life itself on a forum noted for misogyny?
Some of us get married and spend all our time demonizing and tarring our spouse's gender, keeping members of our own gender away from enjoying the goodness of our spouse's gender.
Same topic, same baseless abuse everyday just to give men different ways to say the same thing many times in one day. It's obvious that men are always thinking about women--obsessed with them. The so called red pill has killed off too many male braincells that threads like this are the norm. This is the new manhood. And it's gotten so stale so fast.
We already know you think all women are a trap set to destroy you. And it's what you expect you will get.
