Not at all, that's were you are making the mistake. Judaism believes in one universal God and creator of all.. It is clearly stated that God is not a man or human being and is responsible for both good and evil... There is none beside him... But in the Christian scriptures, God is now a man and you have two separate gods, one for good an one for evil and the evil one is an equal opposite of the good one... And forgiveness of sins is through believing in the death of Jesus.. While in Judaism one has to confess and forsake and God will forgive...

Clearly two distinct, different beliefs...
So? Are both books not the product of humans who wrote what they understood, or do you 'believe' one of them dropped down from the hand of God in heaven?

Exercise your mind and square circles, or is that beyond you?

Yes,I agree with you..but why add the Christian scriptures at the end of the Jewish holy book? Clearly any intelligent person can see that Christianity and Judaism are two different religions..and the two scriptures are hostile to one another....I still believe his intention is to deceive and control..
There have alway been additions to the Jewish holy book, so I don't see why it should become a problem if Christians add to it, especially as it follows in the same tradition and is what it evolved from.

I wonder if you believed stories about the hare and the tortoise or learnt lessons from the stories?

This thread is about a story where a person named Jesus said "take up his cross, and follow me". Is this all it means to you?

sonmvayina:
FYI. The Jesus story come from ancient tales about Marduk... Marduk is the son of Enki, the lugal dimmer Ankia which literally translate to the divine king Of heaven and earth..

Life opportunites are not the same.
In honour of this wonderful thread, I'll plant you a story.

It was last term, Ketu-Obanikoro-Ketu walking 3-4 times to school had been the week, so buda was always late and tired and the only fifth former in skirts which Ma, nurse, had sown by a carpenter so one end was longer than the other and May-June WAEC was about to start and buda's fake Cortinas, Bambis by bata, had the front cut off because buda's toes were too long.

The way buda saw it was, English A1. It was buda's born with manna from heaven that Mrs Adeyemi kicked buda out of class for because she couldn't believe buda who for years had drilled "go and write an essay on...."; "Its unreadable, rewrite it"; "Where's the plan you followed to write it? Go plan and write it again!", could write with such meaning. Maths, A1. "Maths page 211-220" with like 50 equations to solve, after essay drill. Physics, perhaps C, buda hoped, and maybe Economics, but everything else would be F9, and without school, buda was nothing unless buda grafted big time.

The plan was, get 4-5 at May-June, the rest Nov-Dec GCE, then see where go from there or die. Except buda kinda had no textbooks for May-June by fact was to study the 'better' books of 10 years before buda born Manchester Uni Nigerian Army Signals Engineer who part cared for buda and you might get the absurdity of 'better' as if Nelkon wasn't bad enough for buda who would rather study History. And there was the little case of ₦15 to get the Nov-Dec form then ₦10 Naira per subject, I think it was.

So buda walked from school to an uncle at Oshodi to beg but uncle wasn't in, 'they said': should have gotten the message, buda walked home to Ketu and back the next day and uncle told buda to get lost and buda walked to Ketu and ended up in - 'ended up', so you understand buda did not cause clash with primary carers - still, buda spent the night learning "Don mess with soja" in jail" for the night.

True. "Life opportunities are not the same". Life being the sort that is handed to most of us as lemons, we must in fact go and grab opportunities for ourselves, at least, sometimes, is what I have found. One's opportunities haven't after all fallen down on one from heaven so one must create one's opportunities oneself, is at least how I have decided it should be for me. Just see here as I've taken immense advantage of the opportunity given me to step so far back into my past for which, thank you.

Sorry derailing your thread op.

Been following this thread, and from the comments of some figures here.....am trying to understand what benefit is there to support a terrible leader...it's one thing to give people your bullshit, it's a problem when you start feeding off your bullshit........except you belong to the political class, it doesn't matter if you're moslem or Christian... You're still the masses, your children are still the masses....and the masses always get f#@kd. So you can keep bullshitting yourself
I think you don't believe enough that "the masses always get f#@kd". If you did, you'd stop expecting the f#@kers, my bubu included, to benefit you.

What many fail to realise is that most rulers are in position for their own benefit and not for that of the so called masses. Just think of their pay for starts. I'd kill for it myself along with the opportunity to send my kids abroad to study instead of fixing Nigerian schools for all. And to get there, I'd promise heaven and earth too, knowing the gullible masses will believe me without thinking not one single Nigerian politician has fulfilled all their promises. Or pray tell how the constant electricity Obj promised lightens up your homes today?

Pity is that those who might even be thinking of the welfare of the masses are not appreciated as I pointed out here, but which some lazy fuq took as all Nigerians are lazy as if I myself were from Mars!

I support the current leadership. Many forget his first term was between him and the excesses of the previous government of ghanamustgo bags of foreign currency leaving the country and the dire straits we were in at the time. And no, I don't expect him to be perfect, or good, in fact, considering all the leaders we ever had have not been any good either, but at least he stemmed the excesses of the past and would hopefully provide us time to learn to govern ourselves which is what a democracy is, the election of representatives who do our will and not the election of rulers to rule over us as many think.

Its our Nigeria and we need to understand how powerful we are in making our nation what we want it to be instead of the election of a messiah that we seem to think this is. No one will fix our nation while we lazily pray for manna from heaven! However hard we currently work to make our nation what we hope and want it to be is obviously not sufficient so we better realise we need to work harder or starve. And to be honest, blaming bubu is shirking responsibility. I, and you, are responsible for the f#@kd up state of Nigeria, just that we haven't realised yet that change starts with us! We will, someday. I promise.

As for the stock market, which this thread is about, I think we have a great deal to learn. Those studying more mature markets elsewhere would know one persons loss is the gain of someone else and that ₦12b loss was a ₦12b gain for some.

I graduated some 7 years ago. I studied English education. Got done with the clarion call, and with as much fierceness and vigor I could muster, faced the labor market.

I started with Abuja. People had told me knocking on company gates could be more favorable than submitting applications on line. The rational was that sometimes there was just a single opening and the company would not bother to announce online. And so with my credentials and CV, I began my door to door job search.

It was that time of the year when the sun in Abuja was as extreme as the ice in Alaska, but I didn't relent embarassed When I remember those times, I keep asking myself if some few nuts were unscrewed in my head. I was living with my sis and her family at the time. She kept asking me to slow down but I no gree o cheesy. Maybe i thought if I suffered more, the blessing would come faster. And just like that it continued for the next 3 years - every year I would relocate to a different city in search of greener pastures. None of such moves yielded any tangible result. at some point of course I stopped the door to door.

My family could see the misery I was in and reached out. There were two options- go to the UK for a masters, or train to become a nurse. Care job is my 'hatest' job. So deep down I knew it was going to be a masters degree but after the degree then what? Return to Nigeria to face the same labor market?? Though this prospect seemed like a step up, it still wasn't a solution.

The powers that be, the ones footing the bills insisted I went for a nursing course since it was more lucrative. At a point i wanted to say I no do again but my Sis in d UK suggested I come see first and then I'll understand why nursing was it. And so I packed my kaya, headed for the UK.

One day, I had just finished from a campus tour at middle sex university and was just chilling in a cafe. I overhead some people talking about working in the middle east. There was this agency who was locally interviewing for the position of teachers in Dubai and how a CACHE certificate provided an edge. I was able to grab the name of the agency and looked them up online. By the next day, I had registered for a cache course
I have friends in Dubai who are doing very well indeed. One in construction as an architect and not a labourer, a few are teachers and a couple are accountants. No one took their passports off them and they travel regularly. I also know a maid though who is slaving and can't travel so it does seem to depend on one's skills set.

I'll call you a product of hard work. Some expect to reap what they don't sow.

People should stop breeding like rats in Nigeria to reduce all these unnecessary pressure of ‘taking care of my family abi village’
Funny thing is most Nigerians would not clean Nigerian roads for any amount but won't mind cleaning streets in Dubai. Same as we wouldn't clean ass in Nigeria but don't mind cleaning ass in US and UK.

I guess the pay for cleaning ass and roads in US, UK and UAE might be more than cleaning ass and roads in Nigeria, and the supposed indignity of it too might be a barrier. But between clean ass and starvation, a rock and survival.

I hawked eggs and canned coke at the toll-gate in Lagos to fund going UK and scrubbed toilets to go uni when I got there and now semi-retirement is bliss.
