Gombs: List of few tithing churches

RCCG
WINNERS
ECWA
COCIN
BAPTIST
METHODIST
CHURCH OF GOD MISSION
DUNAMIS
KICC
SYNAGOGUE CHURCH OF ALL NATION
CHRIST EMBASSY
ANGLICAN
CATHOLIC
DLBC
Just to mention a few

Why can't anti tithers list TEN...only TEN anti tithing churcheshuh?
Because its not a competition and the fraudsters have engulfed the entire landscape. Is that so difficult to understand?

God is bringing his children out of the bondage just as he used one man to deliver the Christian world from the sale of indulgences.

There are churches that do not preach or collect tithes, but more importantly more and more Christians are discovering the truth and learning to think independently of the charlatans in suit and that is very evident on this forum.

You sound pitiable grin

No hard feelings, accept you are wrong abt tithing...I almost went into epileptic laugher when I read this

"but always remember Narrow is the way that leads to life and few there be that find it......."

I now said "eya" grin

When you called pastors fraudsters and scam artists and dare call God's church a business centre... you didn't remember the above, abi folks who insult others who dnt adhere to their ideology can pass tru you narrow way cheerfully and they are the few who can find the way?...

Abeg shift! grin

Open more thread and do 'God's' work of preaching anti tithing
Pity yourself friend. You that can't even explain what your god of men preaches to another nairalander is trying to pity somebody. nlmediator dropped some useful advice for you on the purchase thread opened by Joagbaje. Hope you read and internalise it. You only parrot what you hear every fellowship day without understanding and it was very glaring on that thread as it is when you talk about tithes.

Tithing as preached today is a perversion of Mosaic laws and a horrible scam. Even if I'm the only one remaining in the world holding this view, you bet my stand won't change.

Your churches that you're so proud of because of the money, crowd etc you have are mostly business centers trying to compete with dangote, adenuga and co and it shows in the greedy covetous people they churn out.

I was expecting to see your tithing testimony on Joagbaje's testimony thread. Pls go and give it so we can know how much 'tithe principle' works in your life grin abi you don't have testimony ne?

Tithing for Christians is a fraud and no amount of bible twisting can change it.

I will see you one day in Jos and we'll laugh and shake hands over drinks but until then, stop the scam and let people give freely and willingly wink

You and your crew should open more threads preaching anti tithe messages. Smart set of folks! grin
The truth is out in the open my friend and that is tithe in whatever form is NOT a Christian doctrine.

More and more people will get it. No matter the number, the truth is out but always remember Narrow is the way that leads to life and few there be that find it.......

Gombs: Which one is Church of Christ? Hope it is not Church of Christ in Nigeria (COCIN)?

If it is COCIN u guys are refering to, then it is a fat lie. Those guys tithe....tithe is Zakka in hausa, and these folks have a box for it.....dont lie here o!

Candour, stop lying angry
Gombs, you always fall your own hand. I was in Jos for over 7 years and I attended services at COCIN headquarters very close to CBN Jos. I even still went to meet a friend there when I came to Jos last year. I know COCIN very well and I'm not referring to them.

The church of Christ we are talking about is different from COCIN and was founded in the US

I will be wondering, just offering? When we are not even close to 50?and u know what? I was told that its both tithe but they dont call it tithe its giving.
Yes you're right. They call it collections and they are very transparent about the whole thing unlike the business centers masquerading as churches today.

Gombs: Repeat after me..."

"Shame on me"

Say it to your self every time u think of tithing
Shame on you indeed grin

If Plenty Churches were honest about tithes, we won't be on this quest in the first place.

Every averagely intelligent human being knows you'll have very few churches in Nigeria that do not collect tithes because the tithe message came with the Christianity that was brought to the country and people only started seeing the light recently.

Church of Christ has been here for a long time (at least a senior colleague of mine has been a member since 1969) and they are spread all over the country. I repeat all over Nigeria.

Also nobody on this thread ever boasted that there were numerous churches not preaching tithes so I wonder what your celebration is for.

A brother wanted to know and we all were honestly trying to help him out.

Anyway I won't begrudge you a good time in the sun. Lap it up as much as you can. Welcome to your eldorado grin
What do you think spoils of war means ? Just to help you a little,it is not compulsorily or most definitely farm produce or live stocks but Any profits extracted as the result of winning a war i.e houses, ships, gold, silver, bronze, petrleum products,CASH ETC. See Scripture below to show you clearly from the bible what spoils could mean:
Joshua 6:18-19 “Do not take any of the things set apart for destruction, or you yourselves will be completely destroyed, and you will bring trouble on the camp of Israel. 19 Everything made from silver, gold, bronze, or iron is sacred to the Lord and must be brought into his treasury.” So dnt think Abraham gave Melchizedek only toro-toro/kpe-kpe-ye or pig and grass cutter huh It is possible he did but not limited to that since the bible stated clearly that he gave a tenth of ALL THE SPOILS !
If you know who Melchizedek is,you will not say HE will go and stand at the city gate during harvest period to collect tithe ! This brings us to another point and questions to you; 'Were was Melchizedek before he was tithed to ? and was it during the harvest of farm produce that HE was tithed to ? and was it Abraham's FARM produce or farm produce generally that was tithed to Abraham ? Guy study your bible with understanding so you can help urself and help others who depend on you for positive knowledge !

Can you show me any where in the bible that categorically tells us not to tithe ? Dnt tell me the Law this the Law that becos tithing never started with The LAW

God bless us and goo nite
Spoils of war means spoils of war. It could have been anything so you're free to squeeze anything into it. Abraham gave him from spoils of war NOT FROM HIS OWN FARM OR HERD OF FLOCK. Abraham met him when returning from war so don't lie that he gave of his farm or animals except you can prove that Abraham took animals and farm produce to the war front.

For Mosaic law of turning, it was strictly animals and edibles from the farm. Lev 27:30-33 was very unambiguous about that. If you don't know that, then you need to start your learning afresh.

In fact, I'm willing to indulge you. Assume i accept your theory that I should tithe the Abraham way and give Jesus my tithe, how do I go about it?
Christianity EtcRe: Anti-tithe Churches by Candour(m): 4:32pm On Oct 09, 2013
Gombs: But see eh God2man this is actually simple

Why can't they (anti tithers) list their churches?

1. Candour-
2. Kunle-
3. Goshen-
4. Christembassy-
5. Enigma-
6. Drummerboy-
.
.
.
10.

We wud already have 6 if they would be honest and name their churches. But they can't! WHY? Because either their churches tithe and they feel they are smarter or the don't have a Church they attend!

But in all, if one can't be proud to name their church for the whole world to read/see, that in itself shows they aint proud of their Church or that the Church doesn't exist.

Simple question
NAME 10 CHURCHES IN NIGERIA THAT DOES NOT TITHE, and Kunle and his band of anti tithers are beating around the bush.

grin
Go back up there and see where i mentioned the church i attend that doesn't tithe.

Are you Processor01 who asked for addresses?

i know your church is a thing of pride. Keep it up bro. The cross of Christ is what i'm proud of. we have different ranking and value systems. i believe you should know that by now
Christianity EtcRe: Testimonies On Why We Stopped Tithing Here by Candour(m): 4:27pm On Oct 09, 2013
You can say the scripture lies if you like ! But i ask you,how many times did you see Melchizedek after the first tithe he collected tithe from Abraham ? Show me another time he appeared in the bible then i will show you another time he collected tithe ! You have not even bothered to ask urself how come Melchizedek appeared just once and one of the first things HE did was to collect tithe and you are here saying tithe should be thrown away ! The only three things Melchizedek did was to bring out bread and wine, blessed Abraham and collected tithe !
Jacob has already been blessed by God but bein man that he was,he decided to enter a covenant with God becos HE knows God does not break covenants ! See below scripture to show you clearly that Jacob has already been blessed by God before he vowed just to seal it with God :
Genesis 28:12-15''He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. There above it stood the Lord, and he said: “I am the Lord, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying. Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south. All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring. I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.”
See also below scripture to show you that it was after the above blessings that he vowed to tithe :
Genesis 28:20-22 ''Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If God will be with me and will watch over me on this journey I am taking and will give me food to eat and clothes to wear so that I return safely to my father’s household, then the Lord[d] will be my God 22 and this stone that I have set up as a pillar will be God’s house, and of all that you give me I will give you a tenth.” He was already blessed before the vow but as human that he is,who knows God don't break covenant,he decided to enter the covenant ! Trust God to be faithful with HIS words not to talk of covenant ! I can on my own count it as an error on the part of Jacob for not believing on the words of blessings of BABA,but trust he is human and what do you expect !
When Hebrews said Jesus is the priest according to the order of Melchizedek and if you want to understand what that means just go check out what Melchizedek did in Genesis 14 and you will under stand what Jesus did and is still doing in the body of Christ today !

I reiterate according to the word of God. TITHING IS ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY NEW TESTAMENT !

GOD HELP US
No amount of colour will make Tithe a new testament doctrine.

Abraham gave Melchizedek tithe from war spoils. No single record that he tithed of his own farms or animals. why do you overlook that fact?

So in your thinking Melchizedek should have been waiting by the city gate every harvest period to collect tithes? He's not hungry. Abraham gave him tithes from war spoils as a mark of honour.

Show me where Abraham tithed from his farms, animals, gold or slaves and i'll agree with you
You talked about paying of tithe once ! -How many times did you see Melchizedek in the bible before he was later re-introduced and explained to us in Hebrew ? He is a priest FOREVER (Jesus) ! If he appeared again in the OT,Abraham would have re-tithed again and again and again and again ! But They never stopped tithing becos we saw Jacob gave same tithe, meaning he was probably taught to do so by grand pa !
You said ''you tithe because you're blessed, what about your other church members? do they have the same understanding? Why do you think i'm here trying to help you see reasons that you are not suppose to tithe becos you are looking for blessing though some do it may be out of ignorance or it could as well be that they want to do 'what Jacob did' who said to God,''if you bless me then i will bring my tithe before you !'' Not knowing that he has already been blessed and expected to just appreciate God! It's not under compulsion neither is it a way to curry God's blessings !
You said''Tithing is not of freewill, its of the law. Our giving today can never be CALLED tithe. God knows his tithe. he defined it in Lev 27:30-33.

From the highlighted of urs above,it still shows you do NOT UNDERSTAND what tithing is and that is why you keep quoting all these ur leveticus of levetical order ! I have said it times without number that tithing is NOT LAW though it was commanded by the Law and that churches even YOU(candour) still thinks that it is of Law when it never even began with the Law ! It started with Jesus CHRIST and Jesus COMMENDED IT in the new testament and even Hebrews re-explained it severally in the book of Hebrews yet you are here fighting me as if i wrote the bible cheesy
I repeat, tithing did not begin with the Law and never ended with the Law but the erroneous levetical order of tithing was indirectly abolished as a result of what grace has done for us ! Have you seen me quoting the Law in defense for my tithing believe ? I quoted Mal 3:10-11 just once here to show people that even in the days of Law God still blesses people who tithe and the verse 9 of same book was mentioned by God to show the people of the Law that God owns the tithe originally !
You will always get it wrong if you think the Law brought about tithing ! It's pre Law becos Abraham did it,Jacob did it to show their love and appreciation to God and not minding what was presented as tithe as some of you think it's only of 'agricultural produce' when we have seen before the Law that men even tithed 'spoils of war' ! May be when you go war na yam and corn you dey carry come back grin I bet you say some gold and silver go join huh Even Jacob vowed to tithe of 'ALL HE POSSESS ' Wonderful !
You said ''The tithe you preach is a perverted version of the one instituted in the laws of Moses.'' I don't preach same tithe as preached by Moses but as preached by Jesus HIMSELF ! Melxchizedek(Jesus) accepted it, Jesus commanded it and Hebrews explained it for the spiritually dull to get it clearer !
Tithing is absolutely positively new testament !

God help us
You're wrong. Jesus is the priest forever after the order of Melchizedek and the record shows a one time tithe to him. Jacob's tithe is even less supportive of your position because he gave God a condition for paying the tithe. If it was a normal thing for him, why would he attach a condition? wouldn't he have said 'God, if you do this, i'll give 1000 rams in addition to my regular tithe?' but instead he used his vow to bargain with God. Is that how you do your own tithing? do you give a condition before dropping your tithe?

You Lie big time brother. Tithing is not new testamental. If it was, it would have been mentioned and asked even once like holy communion.

You obviously DO NOT know what tithing is all about. Its more than the 10% you bandy about every month
Christianity EtcRe: Testimonies On Why We Stopped Tithing Here by Candour(m): 2:53pm On Oct 09, 2013
olivertwist: This is a faceless forum hence the reason why I mentioned my Tithe. In reality, only God knows. Moreover, I only said that, to let you know that as Abraham's children, we can give God our Tithe like Abraham did when He was blessed by God.

About giving to needy, check my past comments. You cannot say because you want to give to the needy, you'll now ignore your pastor and the needy in the church by not paying your Tithe. Even, the Macedonian christians' contributions was for the teachers, widows, gospel and the needy in the body of Christ.

So my friend, give your Tithe to your church where you worship.

Something tells me most of you guys don't even go to church. Hence these attacks against the church.
Good for you. Luckily for me i don't worship where greedy and insatiable pastors preside. in my church, Needs are met and everybody is happy. There is no where a Christian is asked to work with a percentage. That was for Jews who were practicing with the shadow before the substance came to us Christians. today i can give up 90% to any worthy cause that the Spirit leads me to give. Its not limited to a building called a church.

Christ said give to the naked, sick and destitute and when you do, he said you give to him. what greater commandment on giving do you need?

give your 10% to your pastor or church, you are not paying TITHE. Read Lev 27:30-33 to know God's tithe if you're interested.
Funny enough am not a pastor and no intention to be one tomorrow ! The church i worship don't have these knowledge i share with you guys today! But i will open their eyes when ever i'm opportuned. See you talking about lotery and God, When God blessed Abraham and he tithed was there any form exchange by coercion there ? When Jacob offered to tithe if God will bless him was he not blessed before and after all ? Even if we want to consider the Law,was it not God who offered to Bless tithers ? I don't tithe becos i want to be blessed but i tithe becos i love God and appreciate HIS awesomeness in my Life. I tithe becos i put God first in my Life. I tithe becos i want God's work to continue. I tithe becos i care to see the kingdom message to be taken to all over the world !
Will tithing stop me from doing more within and outside the vine yard of God ? NO- I still give to destitute, less privilege, the needy, widows, orphans, pay people's school fees who are not privilege to have a parental sponsor, not to sound my trumpet,as i put up this here there is some one (a muslim)who just called to asking me to sponsor his trip to the village to see his sick mum and i will still do for him. I still give my offering, render other forms of humanitarian services but will all these including tithing take me to heaven ? NO ! Salvation is found solely in our Lord Jesus Christ . You can not have Jesus and not do good works both in church and out of Church. But good works can't take you to heaven ! You can not claim that you have Christ in you, love God and hit hard on tithing this way ! Well,i can understand that ignorance sometimes can harm people ! What you should be talking concerning tithing should hav been pastors who are dubious with God's tithe and you present them to God if you know any and God will take charge becos it's actually his tithe even before we present it !

You said i lied concerning A FACT that Abraham tithed to MELCHIZEDEK ? If you say it was a lie then you have not opened ur bible before ! Concerning who Melchizedek was and is,i have explained and explained and re-explained to you folks yet you form ignorance.I don't have any thing to say to you again other than the below words from the book of Hebrews :
Hebrews 5:11-15''There is much more we would like to say about this, but it is difficult to explain, especially since you are spiritually dull and don’t seem to listen. You have been believers so long now that you ought to be teaching others. Instead, you need someone to teach you again the basic things about God’s word. You are like babies who need milk and cannot eat solid food. For someone who lives on milk is still an infant and doesn’t know how to do what is right.Solid food is for those who are mature, who through training have the skill to recognize the difference between right and wrong.''

God help us all
Read my post again, i said you LIED THAT CHRIST COLLECTED TITHE.

If you do give to those less privileged as you wrote, pls accept an e-hug from me and i urge you to continue. God doesn't need your money but your poor neighbors do. If you decide to give in your church, stop looking at a tithe threshold of 10%. Freely you have received, freely give. Tithing is not of freewill, its of the law. Our giving today can never be CALLED tithe. God knows his tithe. he defined it in Lev 27:30-33.

Abraham didn't give to Melchizedek to curry blessings. God had already pronounced him blessed so that use of his example plus twisting of Mal 3:8-12 to get the version practiced in churches today is a perversion. Abraham's tithe was a one off, just like Jacob's was a vow. If God did this, he'll do that. Is that the way you do it in your church?

You tithe because you're blessed, what about your other church members? do they have the same understanding? does your pastor not mention devourer and windows of heaven to get them to comply?

The tithe you preach is a perverted version of the one instituted in the laws of Moses. You lie when you say its Abraham's example you follow because if it were, you'll pay tithe only once in your lifetime and that is if you went to war. You're supposed to be a Christian and Christians are not justified by following Mosaic law.

hear my last words to you from Paul

Gal 3:1-3
'O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?2.This only would i learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?3.Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

olivertwist: Who is greedy between us. Just 3days ago, by God's grace, I gave N25,000 as my Tithe and offering. Just few years back, my Tithe was just in hundreds and you say I should not Give 10% back to God who bless me with the money. Is it your money? grin. Who are you?

My friend, God said put me to test with your Tithe? The reason why Tithe is not working for you is because you either gave it grudgingly with complaint not with thanksgiving like our father Abraham did. Or perharps, you didn't believe in it?

No wonder you guys keep hiding under free-will. I'm I surprised? Do you even know why Paul asked the people of Corinthians to give willingly? He didn't have to say anything to the people of Macedonians b4 they gave happily?
You gave 25,000 and you're screaming for a pat on the back? Is that all God is worth to you? How much of the rest did you spend on yourself and how much did you give to those less privileged than you?

how about i boast a little too? i'm footing the bills incurred on all liquids(soft drinks, water, wines) consumed at the wedding of someone who can't afford to pay it. Guess what, its multiples of the 'big' tithe you've been mouthing since yesterday so does that qualify me to go stand before God and demand a profit? Can you place a value on the air you breathe, the limbs you walk with and the brain to think things up? God doesn't need your money. He's God for crying out loud. Rather Christ asked you to give to that needy person by your side because when you do, you give to him

Learn to give without expecting back in return. I saw all your posts and they all have something in common: a sign of a very selfish individual who would not give out a dime until he's sure of what he's going to get from it. My brother, that is a very unchristian trait and unlike the spirit of the Macedonians you referenced in your post. Read that portion of the bible, they gave to HELP THE POOR CHRISTIANS at Jerusalem, not to give an already overfed pastor.

My friend, i dont tithe. stopped over 2 years ago and i am far from somebody for whom things are not working.

Learn some selflessness and prudent use of resources entrusted to you by God.

God2man: @Enigma,candour, pastor kun,

You have all shifted ground to another thing.

Simple question begging for answers.

Give us 10 Anti-tithe churches from all over the world.

All the churches you have mentioned are all in the U.K, and these churches have the same doctine as the one in Nigeria, or are you saying that catholics, anglicans, baptist and methodis in Nigeria have different doctrine from the one in U.K?

Yes! For the fact everyone is doing it doest not make it right. You have forgotten to add that what everyone is doing has Biblical backing. Yes, everyone is doing it, why? They stood on the promise of God, they are not just following crowd, they are following the scripture, the WORD, and that WORD is JESUS. So, One with God is the Majority.
It does not mattter whether you are many or not, the truth is, you are following the promise of God concerning tithe.

They have started insult, "i am ignorant about church history"

Goggle it. All the info about church history are there for you.

God bless you.
God2man.
We all started out believing that tithing was a Christian doctrine until we learnt otherwise, the same way the entire Christian world believed INDULGENCES was God ordained until Martin Luther started a one man army to abolish it enabling you to be free from that particular lie.

The OP asked for churches that do not preach tithes and brethren who know told him. I believe there are others for instance christemmbassey is a pastor in one in Calabar called LIVING WATERS(not so sure of the name now) so there you have another one.

You are the one who wants to know how many Churches DO NOT collect tithes. No single person on this thread has exaggerated the number of Churches who don't preach tithing. Do you want to start attending one?

If you wish to, let us know so we can help you locate one close to your house.

Is your Christianity based on the number of people practicing a particular doctrine? or is this your new strong argument for tithing? grin cheesy

Dont argue this line o......It's not an intelligent one. Even your more knowledgeable comrades in tithes will not be quick to jump to your support.

It is a VERY WEAK PREMISE to stand on
Christianity EtcRe: Anti-tithe Churches by Candour(m): 12:22pm On Oct 09, 2013
God2man: To all Anti-tithers on nairaland,

Since you cannot mention 10 Anti-tithe churches all over the world,
can we conclude that Anti-tithe doctrine is alien to christianity, especially in Nigeria?

If this is not true, then Jehovah witness and church of christ stand out as the only Anti-tithe churches, while Catholics(not sure), Anglicans(not sure), and Baptist(not sure) in the U.K are somehow divided on the doctrine of Anti- tithing.

My conclusion is that, Anti-tithe doctrine is NOT familiar with all the doctrine believed by all Churches all over the world, it is a demonic doctrine from the pit of hell to deceive christian and eventually send them to hell.

However, i am waiting for 10 churches from all over the world that adhered strictly with Anti-tithe doctrine.

God bless you.
God2man.
Same way Martin Luther started as a lone voice against the Catholic church that made it possible for you to attend a pentecostal church today and not be forced into the Catholic church.

So also everybody thought Martin Luther was strange when he campaigned against sale of indulgences even though everybody believed then that it was a practice sanctioned by God.

So also everybody thought Martin Luther was wrong when he translated the bible into German because the general belief then was that there were specific languages to read the bible in.

My bro, this is not a popularity contest. A brother wants to find a church that he can attend without hearing lies about tithes. Tithes have been with us since 585AD and monetary tithes since 1873AD doesn't make them right. What happened to the 550 years between the birth of the church in Jerusalem and the council at Macon that brought tithing back into Christianity and even then, Strictly Agric produce?

Tithing is foreign to Christianity. Catholic Church brought it back to cater for the clergy and the POOR(even though the poor do not feature in the pentecostal churches of today) only for Charlatans and greedy people to convert it to monetary tithes to line their pockets less than 200 years ago.

More and more Churches and Christians who are not controlled by their bellies and covetousness will come up and more and more Christians will come to know the truth. You can see those who are getting it for the first time even on NL.

The fact that a crowd is doing something doesn't make it right. hope you know that?

christemmbassey: its unfortunate, PDP, APC APGA etc have taken over d church in nigeria, very very bad. The question is, are we going to sit back and watch them destroy the church of Jesus as they'v destroyed Nigeria?
my bro, you can only do so much.

God owns the Church and he'll do his cleansing himself. All we need do is sound the truth to all we can find and those who'll listen will. When Martin Luther started his one man crusade, nobody expected it to break the monopoly of the Catholic Church but it did bringing in the reformation.

God alone who knows the beginning from the end, knows how it will pan out. We all should just do our bit and leave the rest.

Na God get power

Christianity EtcRe: Success Stories Of Tithers You Can Add Yours by Candour(m): 10:09am On Oct 09, 2013
God2man: Is it only money? What about divine security? Good health, open heavens, a blessing that money cannot buy.

One woman gave a testimony how robbers attacked and stole her bag, she fought with them on the street and started shouting, i pay my tithe, No! you can't steal it. They struggled together openly, the robbers fled, immediately God sent somebody to waylay the robbers and recover the stolen bag, everything inside the bag was intact.

@ joagbaje, the problem with this thread is that anti-tithers will claim they are enjoying the same thing, so, what is the difference?

I rest my case.

God bless you.
God2man.
God bless you God2man for the bolded. The spirit must have revealed that truth to you. No matter how anyone paints the story, there's no benefit a so called tither enjoys that is not available to others, even non Christians. If atheists open a thread now to tell you about their successes or that of their comrades, your jaws will drop because all the money and achievements of those listed in the OP pales in comparison

See examples

Bill Gates (Atheist) worth $67B 58years old

Warren Buffet (Agnostic) worth $53.5B 83years old

Aliko Dangote (Muslim) worth $16.1B 56years old

Mark Zuckerberg (Atheist) worth $13.3B 29years old

Money, health, influence etc are not a measure of closeness to God in this dispensation. Christian leaders fall sick and die just like everybody. As long as you're in this body of flesh, as it happens to the animals, so it will happen to you. If you take care of yourself and are careful with your lifestyle, you'll enjoy good health. Warren Buffet is an example @ 83years and still very strong.

What distinguishes a Christian is not this earthly considerations but our eternal destination. The people of the world will always be ahead of Christians when measured on this carnal scales because they own the world and we are strangers here. If you work hard, God will bless your work whether you tithe or not and irrespective of your religious affiliation because he pours rain both on the just and the unjust.

Col 3:1-3
'If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.2.Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.3.For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God'

We are dead to the world and should remain so. God has promised to meet our needs. Let us stop the chasing, covetousness and unending engagement in a futile rat race. It's not worth our souls
Christianity EtcRe: Why Do Pastors Collect Tithes From The Poor, Widows And Orphans by Candour(m): 9:29am On Oct 09, 2013
Gombs: Pls show me where I said there must be others? I said the 120 were like leaders.

U can lie abeg.
U said the 5000 were disciples who later left him because they were 'carnal'.

Abeg I cnt continue.

Cheers
Once again what did you mean by this reply

Gombs: Jesus won much souls dan you can ever imagine. He didn't have just 120..u could call the 120 his leaders. That's why he said they shd teach everyone whatsoever thing he has commanded them. What abt the 5000 he fed? What abt those 3000, what abt those he taught by the see of Galilee? Etc
in response to this statement from me

Now according to your twisted logic above, until a 'Church' is big and visible like the ones you listed above, they are not of God. Jesus Christ our Savior must have been a 'failure' in your world because after a whole 3 years of ministry, he had only 120 disciples waiting in the upper room for the Holy Ghost.
see how the bible described them

John 6:66
'From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him'

see those who remained after the feeding of the 5000 and his subsequent sermon to them

John 6:67
'Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?'

Keep arguing with yourself and the bible

Saw the write up below and believe its worth a glance

Everywhere in Lagos, amidst lack of infrastructural maintenance, posh suburbs are springing up by the day. The real estate market in Nigeria and Lagos in particular, is booming.

Some don’t even allow the erratic nature of PHCN to deter them; these estates boast of independent power generation. Many of these so-called estates are actually just a street off the main road, gated off with very obvious restrictions to commercial motor bikes (Okada) and other means of public transportation. Even taxis are forbidden from entering most of them.

Many of these new estates, particularly in Lekki and its environs, are surrounded by huge slums. The hawkers and sellers that peddle their wares on the sides of the main road or “express” as they are popularly called, live close by or in these slums.

These growing slums and a growing rate of unemployment are a constant reminder of the need for us to open our eyes to the increasing levels of poverty around us and the mounting insecurity we’re all faced with.

Many who live in these ‘’special streets” live in high-walled buildings, often laced with electric or dangerously spiked fences.

The question is:“Do our high walls protect us from the criminal intent of the many who are deprived and desperate? If these high walls have protected us so far, is there any guarantee that they’ll continue to protect us from harm?

The average Nigerian is poor, surviving on well below a dollar a day. Except he is lifted out of poverty, the chances are that he’ll regenerate poverty down his lineage. The desperate poor who have given up on society’s ability to create economic opportunities take laws into their hands.

They break down our high walls in many ways: They make us reinforce our homes till some of them look like lion cages and they make us pay dearly for armed security guards in our homes and offices;they break into our homes; accost us armed at ATMs or kidnap kith and kin for ransom; they make us unable to allow our children play freely on the streets like we did growing up and they make us buy cars with tinted windows and drive overly self-conscious. They break into our freedom to be and steal our ability to trust and be trusted.

So, why are we more passionate about erecting high walls than tackling the unfortunate factors that are making them our way of life? What are we doing individually and collectively to help reduce the growing levels of poverty we see all around us? Do we see poverty as a collective responsibility to be reduced by little sacrifices and sustainable societal contributions or do we see it as a government problem and continue to rely on our high walls?

For those of us who own or manage businesses, what can we do to keep growing our businesses and their potential to employ more people, even at low or no skill levels?

What can we do at the individual and community levels to help millions to own and manage their own small businesses that can in turn employ two or three more persons? How can our spiritual centres help the poor in their congregation to create wealth? Can our spiritual centres get more involved in large scale farming, bakery, manufacturing, etc, and employ millions of the poor idling in our streets?

We love our children and want the best for them but many of us do not consider Nigeria “the best”. So we send them to school in other countries – the U.K, the U.S, and Canada. However, as their systems become saturated with Nigerian students and professionals (it is said 70 per cent of Blacks in the UK are Nigerian), these countries are beginning to push back with visa bonds and other stringent immigration restrictions. So, many of our children currently studying abroad will have no choice but to return home as some are already doing. They would return to the high walls and the vulnerabilities we have been too delusional to face and tackle.

We have reached that level in the socio-political climate of Nigeria where we need to look around us and really “give back” to the community.

Nigerians are a giving people and there’s no doubt that the extended family system has checked the tendency for the majority of the very poor to take on extreme measures to alleviate their poverty. However, we tend to prefer giving handouts as a quick fix rather than empowering people to find a sustainable means of earning an income.

The latter is where communal effort has a significant role to play. Most companies only practice Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility, CSER, as a public relations stunt or when there is something in it for them.

The ‘sustainability’ component of CSR is often neglected and with the poverty levels in Nigeria, this is to our detriment. CSR is one good way to break down high walls. High walls have shifted from signifying ‘privacy’ as they did decades ago to ‘fear’.

There is no place like home. The more we can make our society less dependent on high walls, the better for us all. The ball is in our court; if we do not develop and make Nigeria better, no one else will.

Nimen: I'm talking of personal forgiveness, the man have decieved you for a long time, what would you do, leave the church or stay and forgive him for using Jazz on you and decieving you
That should be your decision to make and i can only advice you to make it with your eternal destination as the prime consideration.

He is very unimportant to where and how you spend eternity so leave him out of the picture.

We are asked to forgive those who wrong us, so forgiveness you owe him and thank God he came out openly to confess.

God2man: Exactly! The blind leader will always lead his congregation to the pit.

I recommend that the shot man of God should be invited to conduct a kind of revival or deliverance service for the whole congregation.

After this exercise, @ op, should determine to have a divine encounter with Jesus.

It is important.

God bless you.
God2man.
And what happens if the 'big shot' pastor is only using a bigger jazz to belittle the small jazz of the OP's pastor? in that case we'll have to call for angel Gabriel to come organize a bigger deliverance right?

Why not let us stop the veneration of mere mortals like you and me and develop your own relationship with God to the point where when you speak to him, he listens and answers?

Is the blood of Christ that saved you any less potent than the one that saved the big shot pastor?

When you leave your spiritual destiny or any destiny for that matter in the hands of a man, you're only setting yourself up for a big fall. God will always be God and a man will always remain only a man.

Pastors should guide, not have dominion over your faith. You're standing by faith, not by pastor's anointing or power.

If the apostle Paul could say the below, i think we need to listen to him

2Cor 1:24
'Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand'
