He moved it from where to where? |
Tareq1105:I only ask a question! So far, I've seen him assist whenever people request for such. |
Corn247:Why? Because he's paying attention to the problems of the masses? |
Lovilla:Don't you understand the food the maid is giving him? Abi it's when belle enter you will understand? |
MrBrownJay1:How do you know she has not reported? Are you the appropriate authority to report to? Or is TVC or Nairaland the appropriate authority? I've raised all the issues regarding objectivism. The appropriate authorities are the civil authorities. Gawd! I can't believe I'm writing this all over again. This you not read that in my previous post? |
MrBrownJay1:You still don't get my drift! In all my posting on this thread, there are two words I stressed on all the time. Go back and read all of my 5 or 6 postings. Well fine, coming out to say that she was raped means absolutely nothing to many.....What will you and I do about the half message? It means nothing to me neither. But had the interviewer asked her if she is willing to share more information then it's a different thing entirely. Don't ever underestimate the relief such small let out can do psychologically to people's spirit. Sometimes, people knowingly or unknowingly give out snippet of what trauma they are going through because it makes them feel good. If I'm close to her or know her in person, what I would do is to encourage and/or empowers her because I know for a fact that the girls-child are not adequately protected in this our part of the world and they bottled up a lot that affects them. My point is the women folks generally needs encouragement and empowerment to voice out a lot of things. That's why they are called weaker sxx. Would you forget about her for a minute! How many of her type in similar situations even have the courage to say she was been raped? Let alone telling the full gist you want to hear? You and I are not the appropriate authority to request for further "gossips". What we can do instead is admonished her to report to the police if she hadn't done that already! It's not about how we feel! If we want to get the culprit, is it you and I that is authorized to do that?? Look, I know someone that had similar issue, got depressed and died because the society esp. men that she wouldn't give in to started ridiculing her. It's a tough position to be in. |
fernandez1:Don't mind them, they focus on Arsenal losing and believe ChildCity will win all their own. Last last they will go to court! |
My problem with this country is that we will all shout and shout and shout, yet they will pass the bill that medical practitioners must stay for 5years and they will not do anything about the "bill" raised by Eedris Adulkareem! Politics na scam as far as Nigeria is concerned. Our polithiefians will never pass a law that favours the masses and doesn't favour them. It's all about them! |
MrBrownJay1:No, that's not what I'm saying. Let me say it clearly again........ "The society should encourage and empowers the girls child". Story like that should come out naturally from her and/or usually from the appropriate authorities. Ideally, unless she tells her story herself or the authorities broke it to sensitize the society (normally after justice has been delivered) neither me nor you should probe into her private matters. The interviewers should have asked if she's willing to talk about it (encourage and empowers). We can only speak generically and continue to speculate. Only the victim can get into specifics if she wants. The civil authorities can request for specifics but wouldn't publish until thorough investigation and justice has been served. That's how it's done. We don't stampede people to saying things if we can't encourage or empower them. Sometimes skimming only the summary out could just be very relieving as she had done on TVC. You don't know how she feels by just issuing the snippet. We don't know how she's been processing the whole thing. That's the summary of all I'm saying. We keep demanding rather than encourage and empowers. |
MrBrownJay1:The processing is still hers! Rape is just like jokes/pranks. You don't weigh the impact from the point of the person that cracked/made it. She's the one that is going through the process(es) and only her can weigh the impact of telling her stories to the world. In this wicked life, where bloggers will jump on people's story and be making money from it whilst still subjecting the person to secondary trauma even if the person cries herself to sleep every night and later self end herself. Let her process the impact and work with her time inasmuch as the society isn't doing well to encourage and empowers women generally. |
MrBrownJay1:That's why you don't see them saying it. Out of every 10 that's raped, only 1 manage to say it and it's usually after they have come out of both primary and secondary traumas. The few that opened up usually does when they don't longer give a sh!t about it. If she's hasn't fully come out of it, she may not want to tell you the full gist. Knowing fully well the society is just interested in her sxx story and not to support her. Different people process the situation differently. There's a reason why they say women are weaker sxx. We must encourage them to speak out! To expect large number of them to speak out without helping and encouraging them in a society that silences women voices in virtually every sphere of life is just not going to happen. This thing we are talking so flippantly is actually very rife and we need to do more to empower women and the girls-child. |
MrBrownJay1:I'm saying the reason why many don't come out to say it. Once they say it, the society start casting them in most cases. Then they become double victim. Some get into depressed state also because of the way society treat them. And some decide to end it all. The trauma might have been caused by the rapist, but the consequential trauma she faces when she walks down the street is deeper. Nobody encourages her. Everybody just want to hear her rape story....she goes to bed crying herself to sleep every night, wake up the following day and still face the same society looking at her dejectedly and the trauma increases. We still have a lot to do as a society in giving them support and encouragement to speak out. When you see those that come out to speak about it, they must have summoned tremendous strength to overcome the shame that's not really their fault. |
MrBrownJay1:The societal trauma is still a factor. Have we ever celebrated any lady that comes out to tell her story? |
writetopoker:He may be right on his position. Not everyone likes Abroad. I've been to several countries of the world myself and to some extent I don't prefer oversees to Nigeria. Also the only genuine people I've seen in all the countries I've been to are the indigenes themselves. Every other nationals esp, Nigerians appear "fake and superficial" in their lifestyles abroad. Need I say, a fellow Nigerian brother just stole my phone last week here. Their hussling is tripple real here and that's why many wouldn't even attempt coming back home because their expectation of better off than people back home isn't actually true. Having said that, I would not discourage anyone that wants to leave the shores of Nigeria. Abroad favours some and also doesn't favour some. If it doesn't favour you, you are always welcomed back to your country. The only thing I hate in many of the countries I've been to is the feeling and treatment like fourth class citizens. In all, they are great cities and great countries. Nigeria no just near them at all! |
They just dey teach rubbish in our schools! I still maintain, "The Nigerian Constitution" should be included as a subject for the senior secondary classes. An average Policeman don't know the right of the citizens. The citizens themselves don't know their rights. That's why a policeman can just slap anyone on the road because both are poorly trained! |
Real or fake it doesn't matter. The media and government are not talking of the offence of wire-tapping/eavesdropping. What kind of country is this? |
When you kill the fowl on Friday, just give your neighbour the laps with jollof rice to shame the devil. |
Every country just allow their ambassadors to deal with APC while their President/PM stay out of the scene. They saw the whole thing in Feb/March! What a country! |
This S'wore should be in market square doing flip and chop challenge. He claims to be nationalist but he's anti-people since after the elections. |
German juice wants Villa juice. |
Pierohandsome:Are all of them not the same? Make God just dey save us. |
Funny how we start asking questions that we should have asked before elections. The ones that were asked were not answered. Only bala blu, blu-blu and now you're trying to provide answer to questions that everyone already know what to expect! Sometimes, I reason am say we are all guilty of the problems we face in this country. Dey play! We will harvest what we planted. GIGO. |
World bank should have just paid $4 dollars to every Nigerian instead. They keep giving money to Fraudulent people. |
Special adviser on gutter? I never heard that kind of ministry before. |
youneedjesus:The only Nationalist Nigeria ever had as President! |
Una don use social media to harass the couple tire. They did the right thing but we don't know how to respect privacy in this country. |
Tomiwasamuel:Poverty is to blame Bro. |
We are just not serious for anything in Nigeria! |
It's because dem never tell this Amaka say the fact that your surname is Ogunjobi, you're still not from the region! When they hit you, and tears commot for your eyes, you will understand what some people went through during the election. |
Racoon:That part hit me deep too. |
Dsalvo:SMH |
