Can someone else confirm that statement?

during American invasion of Iraq, my son called me to pray for him. he was hit by a motar shell, that was. how I lost that boy.

5 years later my daughter wants me to endorse her military ambition, I refused, she threw tantrums. I ignored her.

she refused talking to me and I didn't call her for one year. she went to serve despite my warning, the whole family ignored her.

she ran back in just a year and 3months to apologise, today she is married to an omani prince.
I understand your plight. However someone's children will still have to do it to protect you and me. It is a tough job, but the world is just so an unfair environment. This is one reason why government should be taken very good care of these sets of people. including Teachers......I see no reason why teachers esp. should be poor in any country.

Family › Re: How Guys Use Marriage To Plunge Themselves Into Perpetual Poverty. by CaptainFM1: 5:47pm On Jul 21, 2020
Poseidon000:
Sup guys. I've something that have always earned the acme of my discountenance. And that's how men crudely jump into marriage in other to conform to societal dictate or for some selfish satisfaction.
This have gotten me pensive and I'll make no ado in getting to the nucleus of the issue.

Yesterday, I was headed toward gwarimpa, and on my way I noticed a disheveled young guy around Efab estate trekking by the express.
As a rule, I always give such guys 'lift,' because i was once with a female colleague in a lonely path that seldom have cars coming our way, suddenly one private car stopped and when I tried entering after my female colleague boarded, the SIMPson bounced me out and zoomed off with an empty back seat.

That incident birthed in me a sense of solidarity and understanding of what men go through just for being men, but yesterday, I was so incensed by a botch job my mechanic did that I drove past. After about 4 hours when I had everything sorted and was heading back, I saw the same guy heading toward my direction again(it's a dual carriage way) and he was sweating profusely, so I beckoned on him to enter. We got talking and I inquired why he's trekking such a long distance. He said: he went to look for a job that wasn't successful and he's going back to Arab road.
But this is just a miniscule of the guy's travail. He grew up in abject poverty. In fact, they gave birth to him and his sister in an uncompleted building. His dad died in that building, his sister got pregnant for some riffraff and they started what we call "abuja marriage", his mom subsequently fell sick and died in the same uncompleted building. Then the owner of the building decided to complete it, and drove him away.

Now, this guy was able to get another uncompleted building to stay, and as I'm typing this, he's with wife and kids. This is a person that don't have food at home and can not afford N150 to and fro.

I gave him 10k but I was so mad with him; I mean, I was disconcertingly appalled that this guy will think of marriage in his privation. Why not be a little bit comfortable before considering marriage, instead to face life with the dignity of a breadline.

Sadly, this is the same mistake lot of guy's have been making thinking they'll fall into some stupendous money as soon as they marry, and this is mostly perpetuated by religious charlatans who say; a man's destiny is predicated on his future wife, that as soon as he gets married, the special blessing tied to marriage will start opening way for him.

That's a mendacious twaddle that will leave you in a precarious situation. Please guys, have 'comfort' afoot before you dabble into marriage.

What's your take on this?
Like they say...."The only source of enjoyment a poor man has is his wife ". You will notice that its the poor people that always have multiple children. Again this is because they believe that atleast one of them will grow up to be rich and influential.

Most poor people carry what I called "borrowed-brain". They don't have a brain of their own. They are the ones most of these fake men of God easily target. The need to get rich so quick via unexpected and miraculous means is all they think off. So all these fake men of God started preaching prosperity to them. You see them every weekend hoping on Nairabet and Betnaija jackpots.

You can hardly sell dignity to them.

Abandoned snack machine, late 80s-early 90s judging by the brands on display

WWI trench in France's Red Zone, or "Zone Rouge". Large swathes of the Western Front were declared uninhabitable no go zones after the First World War, and highly toxic environments remain. But for much of the Red Zone, the land has recovered its natural life.

Light rays making their way into an abandoned theater.

An abandoned project by the Nigerian government.
It's called vending machine not snack machine. Any product can be put in it and configured into its computerised system. We've had it in it the past too in Nigeria. Can't think of anywhere you will see it again in Nigeria. Indomie children may not know it.

Did the school owners get school fees from students , no
That's the difference between government schools and private ,
So owners should pay from their pockets ?
That's one of disadvantages of teaching in private schools
Half-thought! What they are clamouring for is Schools to open. Its a no work, no pay business. But if Government really care about the citizenry, they should be serious with the palliatives. If you want to shut every business down, you have to give them some meats to eat too.

Why did he get her arrested?
Why is he increasing the money?

She can be sued and they have their day in court. But you I know she cant afford 1billion naira.

Even pastor krest only asked for a million naira which was a reasonable amount for the Dakolos.

Dbanj and his lawyers are clowns.
It doesn't matter how much compensation is being demanded. If he likes he can sue her for 1trillion dollars, it's the court that would decide how much to be paid. Don't be surprised, court can even downsize it to One hundred thousand Naira.

Having said that, it is a perfect opportunity for her to fight her case too in court. Everyone knows that social media is not an approved nor established court.

Romance › Re: I Tested My Girlfriend And She Failed by CaptainFM1: 2:51am On Jun 27, 2020
Danielfx:
No doubt I had doubt if her love was genuine. I have asked myself just how to get the truth out of her head. She came with tales of love, always making me feel like a king. Yes, she told me she thinks about me every seconds and how scared she becomes thinking of losing me.

This relationship started barely a month ago. We started as friends and eventually she became my girl. She was intrigued with tales of my ex and how hopelessly i drowned in love with my ex, how my ex gave me the shove of my life and how i wanted someone to change my obsession.

Then she came, she acted well but the connection just wasn't there but i had to play along and for the first time in my life, i felt what responsibility is, all her expenses became mine and she barely said no to anything i thrilled her to (do you want ice cream ? Yes... Do you want apple ? Yes..).

I became worried because she was a liability, always taking and never giving. She couldn't advise me in the simplest of assumed situations and making love to her doesn't excite me that much because i barely feel the thrust during sex... She lacked bedmathics and financial management. So, obviously she offered nothing.

So I called my friend and confidante to advise me about her, Afterall i was becoming unhappy each passing day with her. He told me to test her, "simply refrain from giving her a dime for now...."

I went to her place and after our usual boring moments i left without giving her money (I usually give her money). I arrived home and settled down to reminisce about the day, just then i realised she didn't call me. Oh no, she always put the call first so what could have been wrong. I texted her, thanking her for the moment we spent talking that evening and finally she called. We spoke for few minutes and bamn, she told me she wants to get busy with her chores, okay. The minute went bye, an hour, 24 hours, a day and few hours and still no call...

Why should i put the call Afterall, i offered her what most guys wouldn't and the only and one thing she had to do is call me to atleast say "Danielfx i miss you...."

Well, i learnt a funny lesson. She ain't loyal....
May you not be tested!

Lockdown was eased for Market to open Mon-Wed-Fri. They are to close early too.

Lockdown is not the absolute solution to this Covid-19. The solution is for people to have the RIGHT ATTITUDE.

Peoples attitude towards the use of facemask and observing physical distancing is just zero. Attitude towards washing of hands and use of hand sanitisers is very poor. We are not just serious as people and as a nation. The cases and death toll will continue to rise until vaccines are available. People already gave up on Covid-19 issue. The only people concerned is the government. But even the Government are not trying too.
