They only got 2 votes. You are tendering Osun and Ekiti state… unserious people. Ogun that is close to Lagos you didn’t get votes, it is Osun and Ekiti, the hinterland of Yoruba you are contesting. Your people no get sense at all.

Family › Re: Should I Meet Her Biological Father Before Paying Bride-Price To Her Step-father by casualobserver:
MetaBroadband:
Good morning mature men and women in the house. Please I need your help on this topic.

My Fiancee told me about how her biological dad abandoned her and her mum after getting her mum pregnant.

Her mum later married another man who adopted her as his child.

Now she's grown and I've proposed to her, I wanted to go for her official introduction and list collection.

Would it not be nice to hear the biological father's opinion? Should I just ignore the fact that the man is still alive and proceed with the marriage arrangement?

Although she said I should not bother about that, but this is Nigeria and as an Akwa Ibomite I don't think it's proper. Although she's against me trying to find out about the man's opinion. Should I care?

What can you say about this?

Note: she only told me that the man abandoned them, but what if it was her mum that actually took her away?
Avoid women from complicated families…especially those who do not have a relationship with or know their biological fathers. What the mother did to the father, the daughter will do to you. The mother has set a precedent that it is ok to take the children and alienate them from the father and allow another man to raise them. Don’t say you were not warned.

You think it won’t happen to you? Who is going to stop or talk sense into her when she decides to do same with you, is it her mother who took the children and alienated them from their father or the father who is absent from her life? Don’t forget every divorce started with “I love you”

If you want an idea of how your marriage will be look at the marriage of your parents and that of your potential spouse…history always repeats itself. It’s called learned behavior, but Nigerians call it generational curses.

If you want to marry a woman and the father is alive, that is the person that will rightfully grant you blessing to marry his daughter. If you go to another man for blessing, another man will give blessing for your own daughter. If there is a reason why you cannot go to the father for blessing or the father cannot walk her down the aisle then that is a red flag and a warning to run for your life and find another woman to marry.

The only reason why anyone other than the father should give blessing or give a woman out in marriage is that the father is dead. If you want peace and a fruitful marriage, listen to me. If a woman’s father is alive and she cannot bring her father to give you out in marriage, or says he doesn’t matter, she is not from a good home because it shows she has no respect for her father and will not respect you once she is married to you.

As far as the adopted father, only a stupid man will give his step daughter out in marriage when the father is alive. It is not his daughter to give out no matter if he has raised her. All this shows to me the step father, the mother and the daughter are not well brought up.

subsidy was provided for until June 30th. We aren't in June yet.
it was provided for by law but the money doesnt exist. people probably do not understand that it isnt like there is some money somewhere and we decided to spend it on subsidy. All the money we have been spending on subsidy was borrowed. it got to a point where there was no where to borrow and we were paying for the subsidy using an illegal means called ways and means and borrowing from NNPC.

When people talk about Buhari incuring huge debts....now you know where the debts came from...we were borrowing to fund subsidy for 8 years at almost $10b a year. Now there is nowhere to borrow money from. Even the govt owes NNPC money.

if NLC like let them cripple the country, when they are tired and realise there is no money and people start getting tired of being at home they will open the country. I would rather suffer strikes for 6 months than spend I more Naira on subsidy. I just read an article that Buhari has 16trillion Naira worth of uncompleted projects. That is the amount we spent on subsidy for 2 years that has gone up in the smoke of exhaust pipes with nothing to show. money that could have been used to complete road, rail, power projects, we have burnt in smoke and some eediot NLC is talking about subsidy. ko ni da fun NLC!!

You still don't get it, it was not the lady that talked about having about demons or been attacked, it was the prospective husbands who keep having such dreams that told her about the occurrence.

Am not telling you a story, this is 100% true life experience.

You think life is just about what one likes or want?
I laugh, if that is true we all would have had our wishes come true.

There are many ladies who are victims of circumstances beyond their ability if you have not seen I have.
You have just proven what i said from the start...if a woman of 40 is not married, the problem is her. All you have written is the story of a woman who doesnt take responsibility for herself and blames others for her failures. Clearly we both agree that the problem is with the woman, i think we can agree that she is not single because of a lack of suitors. so we can agree that a woman getting to 40 and single is not due to a lack of suitors. Where we disagree is that I say the problem is of her own making and you are trying to blame everyone else except the woman. Whatever the case you have just proven that the woman get k-leg which is why she isnt married proving what i said at the beginning, if a woman gets to 40 and is single the problem is her. Like all 40 yr old single women, they have a problem that stops them from getting married, its never a lack of suitors. if you are a "good" woman one of those suitors will have snapped her up, nobody lets a good thing go.....if they all run then she is not "good"...simple.

Look, i used to have one long term reliable back in the day that told all her friends that the reason we didnt marry was because my mother did not like her but she has never met my mother, my mother does not even know her. The truth is she was never even my girlfriend, we were "helping ourselves" and she always knew. Whenever she found a suitor she would tell me and she would go and when it doesnt work out she will come back. her mindset was that it was better for her to be knacking me when she doesnt have a boyfriend than to be knacking around, it suited me so wetin concern agbero. The irony is everytime she went into a relationship she would always leave and her excuse was always the sex wasnt good. I would never tell her but in my mind I was always thinking this girl is not a serious person...she spent her youth looking for the wrong things in a relationship. this is an example of women having the wrong mindset. if she had the right mindset all those years ago, she would have been my girlfriend not my reliable side babe, there is a reason i never commited to her in a relationship outside sex despite the fact that she comes froma decent home. She never had the qualities i sought in a wife, she is also still unmarried, so it is not just me that didnt see her as wife material. Women always make up stories to hide their shame.

Were you there when all these men said they are having dreams? has it occurred to you that it is something in her personality, character or mindset that made all these men run away and to hide her shame she says these men have dreams? Is this not another example of too much brainwashing by pastors such that we blame everything on spiritual forces instead of taking responsibility? The problem with Church singles, is that when people like me tell you the truth, you dont listen, you prefer to be brainwashed by pastors who have a dubious interest to keep women in bondage. if you are doing something for 40 years and you dont get results, what you are doing is clearly not working. unfortunately for women by the time you get to 40, there is very little hope and the pastors will just continue to feed on your desperation. I am a christian, the people that brought the christianity to Africa do not do christianity like we do.

keep deluding yourselves. like I said delusion is the primary reason women get to 40 and are single.

That's a lie.

I know a sister who is still a virgin till now, works in the church highly devoted in her early 40's the challenge she has is that each time a man proposes to her, the wicked powers in her fathers house would appear in the man's dream to threathen that man, am not telling you stories but real life experience of someone I know personally.

So there are many factors that can lead to a lady been unmarried at 40, which might not be her character flaws.
Jesus wept. Let me share a secret for all you church people, church is a reason many women will never marry. You can do this church matter to a point where you are not attractive to a man. I remember a girl I met when I was still single, on the first date she was talking about pastor this pastor that, giving me conditions and telling me how she seeks advice and permission from her pastor on everything….that was the last time I saw her. Nobody wants a marriage where you are competing with pastor, if it is God one can understand not pastor. To the best of my knowledge she is still single, still churching and I am married with 3 kids.

I repeat for the umpteenth time virginity is not an asset, certainly not a guarantee of marriage , it can even be a liability. As for your story, these are the kind of stories women tell themselves to run away from the real reason they are unattractive to men. There is no wicked powers appearing in any dream, the reason why men run away from her is that she clearly always talks about demonic forces and that turns men away. Nobody wants to marry someone or live in a household where you turn to your wife and everything is explained demonic forces. Again I hope you are seeing the real reason she has not found a man. She does not take responsibility for her actions and blames others…this time the devil. You have just proved my theory about single mature women. They are single because they have problems.

The irony of someone saying I have a narrow view of life and then coming here to blame the devil appearing to suitors for a woman’s failure to marry. Which man wants to marry that kind of woman, virgin or no virgin?

I am a Christian myself but these Pentecostal pastors do more harm to single woman by messing up with their minds.
Romance › Re: "Single Mom" Epidemic: Who Is To Blame- Men Or Ladies..? by casualobserver:
blueAgent:
It's obvious you have a narrow world view.

There a thousands of ladies who are good, chaste but yet unmarried at 40.

Bad Character is not the only reason for many unmarried ladies.
If you are reasonably attractive and you get to 40 single as a woman, there is something wrong with you. There is a reason men have not locked you down. By 40 you have had many opportunities to find a man, why do men not want to marry you? It is not only about chasity or promiscuity. You can be a virgin and yet no man wants to marry you. It could be an attitude problem, an expectation problem, it could be you think you are better than you really are, it could be she doesn’t know her level and she is looking for a husband at a level that is unobtainable for her level……there are so many reasons. In the same way, if a man has not gotten his act together by 40 he has a problem.

There is nothing like a "good" single woman at 40. If she were truly good, she would have been snapped up. Trust me when you get to know her intimately, you begin to understand why she is single. Do not confuse chastity with “good”. If you are a virgin, but you talk anyhow or you are too fussy, you are the type that say I cannot cook for your husband, we share everything 50/50, you are a feminist, you dress any how, her career is more important than her marriage, you don’t like to be corrected etc. I can go on and on, there are many unattractive traits women unknowingly display that rules them out no matter how good looking or successful they may be. The world of single matured women is filled with women who think more highly of themselves than the pool of available men. The more men you rule yourself out from, the less the pool of men that will even consider you. This is how so called “good” girls end up single at 40. These bad or unattractive traits we often do not see or experience until we get to know then upclose. There is nothing like a good single girl at 40. Good girls are married latest 35. If you are not married by that age it is because there is something men see and run away from.

A divorcee of 40 is a more viable partner than a single woman of 40. A divorcee is someone that some man has deemed worthy of marrying which means she has the traits men look for even though things did not work out..A divorcee of 40 will find a husband before a single woman of 40……fact! Like I said people don’t like to hear it but it is true. It’s like a man saying he is poor because this and that, no you are poor because you don’t have it takes to be successful.

Everybody has an excuse, there is no shortage of excuses but your reality is your truth. Your mates are married, the ugly ones are married, the short ones are married, the fat ones are married even the promiscuous ones are married, the career ones managed to marry but you are 40 and single and it’s the worlds fault? Carry on with the delusions,. Delusion is the reason most women get to 40 and are single, they tell themselves anything to stop them from addressing their flaws and weaknesses. Again I repeat. Virginity is not an automatic passport to marriage. That you are a virgin does not make you "good". most of her mates who are married were not virgins.

Please everyone, what's your opinion on this?
Is it wise to date a young lady from a divorced home?
If She is very nice, quiet, respectful, the most understanding person in the world, doesn't even quarrel. Has a good job and many other good qualities.
But if her parents are divorced, and live in the same area, and she lives with both of them.
What is the likelihood of her divorcing in future? Anyone with similar experiences please?
The simple answer is yes. If your parents are divorced, you are more likely to divorce because there is less sense of shame, you are not doing what others have not done in your family. If your parents are together you are more likely to work harder and not see divorce as an option. If divorce is not an option, you are more likely to work harder to salvage your marriage.

Imagine a husband or wife from a home where the parents were divorced going to the parent to say I am divorcing my husband or wife. The father or mother has no mouth to say try and salvage your marriage …..so it is easier to children of divorced homes to divorce when things get hard because there is precedence.

To paraphrase from a sunny ade song……..you don’t get annoyed with a child that resembles his parent.

If you want to know the future of your wife or husband…look at the mother or father. If you want to know what kind of marriage is in store for you, look at the marriage of the parents of your potential spouse. Divorced parents is a red flag, single mother (parents never married) is a no no.

True, parenting helps but it does mean children cannot learn wrong things from outside the home.

I hope you know their are children from single mothers not becos their mom was wayward but they are product of circumstances.

I have an aunt that was a virgin till her early 40tees ,she got married legally had a kid, a son, then things went south, the men abuses her, does not take care of his child, beats her and so on, she left the marriage.

This lady is devoted to God right from her teenage years till now, she met her husband in the church and it was agreed even by the church that they were destined for each other.

Do you blame the innocent child for such situations?

I hope you know there are many great successful ppl from single mothers.

Although don't support single motherhood, but we must be carefully not to judge all single mothers or children as product of bad decisions.

Life can be really unpredictable sometimes.
There are exception that prove the rule. If you work hard you will be successful but not everyone who works hard is successful. A well balanced child raised by a single mother with an absent father is an exception, that they exist doesn’t change the rule. By the way there are a lot of successful deviants, success does not mean one isn’t a deviant. RKelly was successful but is ultimately a deviant so I am ultimately talking about well balanced members of society as opposed to success for success sake.

I am not referring to widows here, a child of a widow is a child of love, your parent died is different from you were not wanted. When you are a child of a widow, you still have a connection to your paternal and maternal side. A child of a single mother is usually only recognized by the mothers family. A child of a single mother is a child who knows one parent did not want him/her. Do you know how damaging that is for a child? I know of a single mother whose daughter changed her surname to her mother’s as soon as she was legally able to. Do you know the pain that child must have grown up with, can that child ever have a balanced relationship with a man? She has Uncles around her but it’s never the same. I don’t care whose fault it was that the parents had the child but that child is bleeped up. That’s the fate of many children of single mothers. That’s why the black community in America have a lot of bisexual/ gay emasculated men and their women continue the cycle of single motherhood. That is he epidemic we are bringing to Nigeria with all this single mother nonsense.

Like I said there will be exceptions but they are the exception rather than the rule. It’s like saying it is ok to be lazy because 1 or 2 lazy students in a class passed their exams. That kind of narrative ignores the other 20 lazy students in the class who failed….as expected.

The only people I give a pass are children of widows. It is difficult to raise children with 2 parents, talk less of being the bread winner and raising a child all by yourself with the psychological damage of knowing you weren’t wanted. Something will give and 90% of the time something does give.

It may not be politically correct to say this but most single mothers are single mothers because they are damaged. Again not politically correct but if you get to 40 and have not found a man to marry you, you have a fundamental problem. If you wait to get to 40 to marry by definition you are not getting the best men because the best men for her age are either long married to women her age or will marry younger women. What kind of man marries a 40yr olld? Not the best…that’s the truth. By the time you are getting married at 40 as a woman you are fishing in the bottom of the barrel…….plus the fact that there is something wrong with you that you are unmarried at 40. People don’t like to hear this but it is true.

The way Ganduje dethroned Sanusi and chased him out of town showed that politicians have totally destroyed everything we hold dear, including our once revered traditional institutions.

IMO, Sanusi would have made a better political leader than traditional leader. Nigeria's north needs enlightened and intelligent leaders - like Sanusi who unapologetically loves education - to drive its growth and development.
Don’t get it twisted, ALL traditional rulers in Nigeria were defeated and lost their Kingdoms to the British. Why are out traditional artifacts in museums abroad?…….because they were looted after these kingdoms fell. Traditional rulers were retained as EMPLOYEES of the colonial government to help administer the natives and allowed to keep their titles and were subsequently inherited by Governors when the colonialists left. ALL traditional rulers are employees of the state governments. They are not even recognized by the Nigerian constitution. You will not find a single mention of traditional rulers in the constitution. The laws that recognizes the OOni, ALaafin, emir of Kano, oba of Benin etc can only be found in their respective state laws.

They exist and hold their symbolic positions and titles at the PEROGATIVE of the governor. By law, (state law) A governor can install and remove any traditional ruler at will. They are employees of the state government. This is the reason why OOni is regarded as a paramount King when traditionally the OOni was never in history recognized as a senior king but the ifa priest. It is the ALaafin that is the paramount Yoruba King. It was Awo that demoted the ALaafin and elevated the OOni for political reasons in the 1950s. It is also why the current OOni is one kind.

They should all be grateful that they are still allowed to be called KING, oba, emir etc. they were all conquered by the British and lost their Kingdoms. Under normal circumstances they all wouldn’t exist today, I don’t know where a king is defeated and loses his kingdom and is allowed to still parade himself as King.

I've read that.

I've also been on a wet-leased plane before. Arik flight (ABV-LOS). The plane wasn't branded Arik, the crew were French guys.

Anyway, what of the other IBOM AIR planes?

If the state actually owns most of just 2 planes, I'm sure Nigeria can, as well.
Regarding your earlier post. There is no plane in the presidential fleet that can be used for commercial service. They are all private jets. Even the presidential 737 only seats about 20

As for ibom air’s other planes I don’t know the status, I doubt they can afford to own them outright. If they are then it is very stupid of Akwa ibom to purchase new planes outright.

A new plane (Boeing or Airbus) can cost anywhere between $100m and $400m. Let’s say we are talking about a new 737 @ $100m or a used one @ 50m. In a country like Nigeria you have that sort of money and all you get is one plane, what about the other costs associated with setting up an airline, How long will you have to operate to break even? How long will it take for you to become a big airline, can it become a national carrier with only 1 plane, where will they get the 300-400m to buy a new 777, A350 or 787 for international routes? Plus when you order a new plane, whether cash or lease, there is a backlog of orders running into years, so if you want to start operations now, you lease.

On the other hand you can lease 5 737s at approx $1-1.5m a month each. Does that not make more sense while you are still starting up. You have 5 planes, you can service more routes, your financial outlay is less and your commitment is less because you can lease a plane for a year and renew or have the flexibility to lease other types of planes if things don’t pan out as planned after a year. But if you have already spent $100m to BUY your plane and business is anot as good as you thought or you find the planes are not adequate for your route, you are stuck with the plane.

You can tell when someone who, doesn’t know about aviation sets up an airline…they go about buying new planes like Arik…..and what happens to the airline and the planes? Arilk May have owned its planes but they are currently rotten away after the airline failed.. It’s more about ego than business acumen and they usually fail. A smart person leases, hopefully ticket sales will cover your lease costs, so you are cash flow positive quicker. The aviation industry is a low return volatile industry especially in a country like Nigeria where currency is volatile.

I don’t know but that was not the point in Hundeyin’s tweet. Airlines lease planes, especially startup airlines. Do you know how much a plane costs?

For the record I don’t like the deal with Ethiopian airways but the issue of renting shows ignorance from Hundeyin. The A320s currently used by ibos air for instance are wet leased. That’s why the pilots and. Flight attendants are foreigners. You can wet lease (with crew) or dry lease (without). But it is ignorant and quite frankly shameful of him to think Nigeria Air was ever goi g to own its planes. Again he should have taken time to check how much a 737 costs even an 11 yr old one and ask himself where he expected Nigeria to get the money in the current climate.

MrBrownJay1:
EDUCATE YOURSELF ON THE AIRLINE INDUSTRY!!!!
unless you are a top company like Air France, Emirates etc, most new/small airlines company's aircraft are rented and/or bought (on credit) from failing airlines or from airlines that want to upgrade their fleet.

you think AIR PEACE own their planes....? they mostly got their planes from a Latvian CHARTER company called Smartlynx. Smartlynx own their planes not Air Peace.
Honestly Hundeyin has been tweeting like an uneducated person since he joined the Obidient movement. I do not like this Nigeria air concept especially the deal with Ethiopian airlines but everybody leases planes.

Leasing planes is normal in the aviation industry. Below are examples broom BA, Virgin and Lufthansa. This Hundeyin needs to take a break, he has been scoring some spectacular own goals of recent.
