ogatboy:I am not disputing that he left 75b in cash and investments. The point of contention is that he conveniently and deliberately failed to mention that there were outstanding contract liabilities worth 185 billion. That is not how you prepare a handover note which is effectively a balance sheet. Please ask any accountant. You don’t state the cash you have without stating the your liabilities even if they are not due today. You don’t prepare a balance sheet and say as at today June 22, I have no payments due, so I won’t include the money I owe ogatboy on my balance sheet because I am not due to pay him until he asks, thats false accounting. Or else every outgoing administration can just borrow huge sums from a bank, list it as cash and not reveal the repayments due on that loan because no repayment is due on that particular date. The argument that the payments on the contracts we’re not due is a mischevious argument. Many of the bonds and cash investments have a maturity date in the future and cannot be accessed on the handover date….so why state those? Why state money you will get in 3,4,5 years but don’t state liabilities that may be due anytime a contractor presents a bill of payment? Handover notes are like a balance sheet. A snapshot of affairs at a point in time. Failing to include liabilities from contracts entered into is either a display of incompetence or manipulation aka accounting fraud. I was just presented facts on Peter Obi’s claims on $100m. I verified and found it to be true and I had no problem in admiting I was wrong. I deal in facts. The problem with many Obi supporters is they deny facts. If you present facts I will readily shift my position as I have already displayed but as someone who works in finance, I know I am right on this. |
PHIPEX:I am a man who stands for truth and I just checked the share price in 2018. I deal in verifiable facts. I have no problem in admitting that on this I was wrong and Peter Obi was indeed right. Whether or not the interview was done in 2018, the stake was worth more than $100m in 2018. My other issues against Obi still stand until proven otherwise. As for Buhari I have never been a fan or apostle of Buhari, never voted for him, even though I will vote Tinubu in 2023. I was around to see what he did when he 1st came in in 1983 and I warned he would be a disaster.
|
ogatboy:Nobody said he stole. I will argue against anyone who says Obi is a thief. The problem with Obi is that he lies effortlessly. EFCc is not going to investigate anyone for dubious handover notes. Atiku and Tinubu are shifty we know this. The problem is Peter Obi and his supporters are touting him as a man who is clean when in fact the whole Peter Obi phenomenon is based on lies, half truth and the manipulation of gullible desperate supporters clinging for anyone who is different but not discerning enough to navigate the BS. I was a Peter OBi disciple myself when he came to prominence on the platform, then I started to examine him closely he started to unravel. His biggest problem is he enjoys the limelight and he talks too much. So the more he talks the more he unravels because there is nothing underneath the rhetoric. The more he talks the more he lies for no reason because he has no track record to back the persona and hype he has created for himself. Atiku and Tinubu are crooks true. but they will accomplish more than Peter Obi. Peter Obi has no meaningful record in government. Again it is because he has nothing to show for his time in office that he resorts to lies. |
Realdon1:Repackaged IPOB/Biafra movement |
ogatboy:He seems to be in a habit of getting his facts wrong. While you are verifying please also verify that 1. Anambra state government wa a the largest shareholder in the company as you heard him say….a lie 2. Contrary to the position being touted that he left 75b when he left Anambra, the real state of affairs was that he left a net liability of 105B. As he does by always being economical with the truth, he conveniently failed to mention that the state govt had contingent liabilities of 185B. A man of Peter Obi’s stature and business experience knows how to prepare accounts. I refuse to believe he was incompetent or inept. This was either deliberate attempt at being fraudulent or he is incompetent. But no accountant will give you a balance sheet and not state liabilities because they are not due today. The man is very clever with his choice of words. You have to decipher and investigate when Obi talks about his affairs. Because they are mostly lies and half truths. |
SmartyPants:. You really are retarded. Let me explain this to you in a language even a retard can understand. Under this law, Social media companies are not obligated to remove any offensive post that hasn’t been reported. If a post has been reported they must take it down within 24 hrs….but the post must first be reported. |
SmartyPants:You really a displaying the traits of someone with a very low IQ. The law says it must be removed…..WHEN REPORTED!!! Don’t you understand the basic difference? Jesus!!!!! How daft are you ![]() |
ogatboy: First he did not make the claim that $20 million was now $100 million, the statement was attributed to Soludo which he debunked. It could have been one of his supporters or even an opposition. When campaign starts, we will scrutinize everyone. I hope Atiku and Tinubu would be able to defend their wealth and time in government.Watch the video, it is there in the link:
“I invested in it over twenty something million dollars, it is worth over one hundred today, that’s what government should do”. From the horses mouth. Watch the video and Argue with yourself |
SmartyPants:Of what relevance is all this nonsense you just posted? The article was about failing to delete proscribed media when reported. And I said they can only remove what has been reported. You really have a problem with English! Seriously!!!!’ |
SmartyPants:You are the one who is misguided, possibly suffering the malaise of many Nigerians, the ability to read in English but not fully understand what they just read. Again I repeat, the law says they must remove indecent content within 24 hrs of reporting. You don’t need to have anything more than an average reasoning faculty to know the law does not require them to remove any porn or images that haven’t been reported. |
agabaI23:The point is that Peter Obi claimed the investment was now worth $100m. That’s a bare face lie like all things Peter Obi. He also lies that Anambra was the largest shareholder when it only owned 10% of Interfact breweries and consequently 4.7% of international breweries post consolidation. Peter Obi is a man who lies effortlessly at will. You can watch the video here
|
SmartyPants:I don’t see the relevance of what you posted. The law says they must remove any indecent image that is reported. It has to be reported first. |
etokhana:The law says must be removed within 24 hrs of reporting. If it isn’t reported there is no action to take. Sahara reporters should show evidence than porn was reported and by who but wasn’t removed. |
The house of Obi built on a pack of lies will unravel by election time. |
he is best suited to ministry of propaganda or statistics, i wouldnt trust the economy to him. |
adedayoa2:You wont see pressure because you are a woman and all that is on your mind is marraige. 3 months is too early to be asking a guy to wear aso-ebi with you. How old are you that 3 months is enough time, if you are that old then what were you doing with your life? Like I said invite him to family functions yes but if a man has not given you any indication he plans to marry you, never ask him to wear aso-ebi with you. A woman does not find a husband, a man finds a wife, things like that should come from the man without pressure. If you pressure a man, when he is not ready, you will most likely lose him, even if he had good intentions for you. and you will encounter the same problem with the next man. Again I repeat, a woman does not find a husband, a man finds a wife....many women need to understand that. Your job as a woman is to put yourself in a position where the man you want to marry cannot think of a life without you. This is why many women get it wrong and repeat the same mistakes till they are on the shelf. the more pressure you give a man the more a life without you is not such a bad idea to him!!! |
QueenOfTheCoast:I’m not going to discourage anyone who wants to vote Obi because a vote for Obi is a vote removed from the Atiku Column and an indirect vote for Tinubu. Majority of the people who are going to vote for Obi would have voted for Atiku. Tinubu supporters are not changing their votes. You all saw what happened in Ekiti with SDP….a whole Fayose’s PDP came third in Ekiti!!! I am just saying even though I know it is a waste of time, that Obi is very questionable….he lies effortlessly. His record doesn’t stand up to the hype. But like I said please vote for Obi, I encourage you, In the end you are taking votes away from Atiku! The more Obi supporters the merrier!!! It doesn’t mean you aren’t all ignorant undiscerning sheep who cannot see through the lies and fraud. As for tribalism, 80% of Obi’s supporters are Ibos, the same people that would otherwise be here talking about Kanu and IPOB are the ones carrying Peter Obi on their heads. It’s no coincidence, the IPOB, Kanu threads and rhetoric has almost died down since the emergence of OBI. You that are talking are Ibo and have never supported a non Ibo agenda so cut the crap!!! There is nothing but hatred spewed in your post history. The only fools here are the gullible non Ibos who think the Peter Obi agenda is about them when in fact it is nothing but a repackaged Biafra agenda!!! to others who are reading this, watch peter Obi whenever he is asked an uncomfortable question, he is a master at diverting attention away from the question asked and never giving a categorical answer yes or no. Unfortunately Our Nigerian reporters are mediocre. A good example is the video trending where that nitwit rufai asked him about diverting state money into his family business, he employed the same tactic he did when Khadira asked him the same question...made a lot of noise without answering the question. Thats Peter Obi for you!!! ...but we welcome his votes because he exists to clear the path for Tinubu to Aso rock!!! |
QueenOfTheCoast:Obi himself is of questionable loyalty and character. |
adedayoa2:You women sef are your own problems. This is how you put pressure on men and drive men away. How can you ask a man to wear aso ebi with you after 3 months…..kilode!!!!! Invite him to the wedding, if he doesn’t want to come, you know he has no plans for you because he doesn’t want to meet your family. But when you ask him to wear aso ebi, you are the one creating issues by trying to force the issue which will often backfire on you. It is one thing to meet your family, it’s another to participate in a family event as a family member in waiting after just 3 months!!!! |
Born2winnx:Many years ago, I was introduced to a girl that i wasnt really into, It turns out I know her sister but we had lost touch. Anyway we went out on a few dates (more like she pushed for a few dates and I was being nice because of her sister and I thought no harm) but I did not take it any further, I deliberately did not sleep with her even though I knew I could. Fast forward a few weeks she invited me to her cousin's wedding. I am distant friends with her sister and we moved around in the same circles way back in the day, so I thougth no harm in going for the wedding....no aso ebi story involved. I got to the wedding and all her friends, her sister, her in laws even her brother in law who I know were treating me like their in-law to be.....somebody i was not even dating...it was like they were all waiting for me, the fuss was on another level, are you ok, what do you want to eat, drinks nko?,is everything ok kinda fuss, you could feel everybody gazing in my direction..... it was like they were all waiting for me to arrive. Her brother in law who is a friend of mine was even asking me what happening...bi ti bawo? as how? happening to what? who told you your sister in law and I are a thing? lesson is dont be forced into a situation, small things mean a lot to women, even when they are the ones that "forced" the situation. A woman will try and force a situation, it has meaning, it is your job to resists the forcing. You dont know what the girl has told her family and friends, because the same people will turn around and make you the bad guy and ask "if you had no plans to marry her why did you wear aso-ebi". If it doesnt feel right it doesnt feel right. imagine if we were actually dating her or I wore aso ebi with her? |
bonnyhope:ideology of lying, distorting facts and manipulating the gullible? |
TheRareGem1:Like they say, "change starts with me". it's a bit rich for Osinbajo to be talking about leadership culture change when your example of leadership is to show betrayal, greed and lust for power. A pastor who wanted to ascend to power by betrayal and disloyalty! The irony is he has already set a bad example of leadership to his followers when he had a chance to show good example of leadership. If he had any shame, he would quietly see out his last year in office and quietly dissapear from public life. its not like he has anything to show for his 7 years as vice president. |
Show me what your state governor invest in major conglomerate ![]() Anambra remain major shareholder of international brewery Nigeria
anambra's share is 4.7% same as Peter Obi's personal share. https://saharareporters.com/2012/08/30/governor-peter-obi-anambra-sabmiller-brewery-ownership-scandal-premium-times A brewery ownership scandal in Anambra state has stirred a conflict of interest concerns following allegations linking the governor, Peter Obi, to a stake in the new firm. Mr. Obi is accused of fraudulently financing the purported government-owned company with state funds when indeed, his company has an interest in the group. The company at the centre of the controversy, Intafact Beverages Limited, is one of the projects earmarked for commissioning by President Goodluck Jonathan who is visiting the south eastern state on Thursday. Alongside the project, the president will commission Orient Petroleum, Orange Drugs company and Onitsha Inland Port. Allegations have built up for weeks that Mr. Obi was promoting Intafact, jointly owned by SABMiller, a South African joint brewery venture, as a state business interest and funding the firm with more than N2 billion of Anambra government funds while also allocating shares in the company to himself. The governor is allegedly represented on the company by his company-NEXT International Limited. Critics say in addition to using state resources to promote private interest, Mr. Obi also received through his company the shares of SABMiller in Intafact. Some of the allegations could not be independently verified by PREMIUM TIMES. When contacted via telephone, the governor’s media assistant, Valentine Obienyem, said he would send an emailed response to the allegations, but never did. The allegations have triggered a firestorm of condemnation for a state executive reasonably seen as relatively transparent and more committed to state service. A former member of the House of Representatives from the state, Chudi Offodile, called on the governor to resign on account of the alleged scandal. “What does Governor Peter Obi understand by the oath he swore to on assumption of office:”that I will not allow my personal interest to influence my official conduct or any official decisions,” Mr. Offodile said. While the company is seen to be state-owned, documents from the Corporate Affairs Commission, available to PREMIUM TIMES, list as shareholders of the company, SABMiller, Next International Limited, and the state government. Mr. Obi is said to have resigned his leading role at Next ahead of his election while maintaining subtle ownership of the company. |
plaindealer:it really is. |
Johntitus:whenever you buy land, you have to check that the land hasnt been earmarked by the govt. I forget what the technical term is but there are lands that the govt has acquired or earmarked for different projects even if they havent started work on it and it appears fallow. if you buy such land, govt will not compensate you. |
plaindealer:Everything about peter Obi is lies or economy of facts. Just like he will tell you he left N75B but conviniently forget to include 185B worth of liabilities simply because they were not due on the day he left office. Irepeat, I have never seen a man lie so effortlessly. |
And you are only fair to IPOB |
Fahdiga:They can’t do anything. The author summed it up aptly, they are local champions. Neither have national appeal. All they will succeed in doing is dent the votes of the 2 contenders in certain zones. The one thing that is sure is that Kwankwanso/Obi will not win 25% in 24 states, impossible!!!!! Ekiti election is a pointer to the real effect of a 3rd force…..in the end PDP came 3rd in Fayose’s state……digest that for a minute. |
Elections are holding in Ekiti, you have a candidate, instead of showing support with your presence, you run away to Egypt. |

Peter Obi is running for president and all of a sudden IPOB is releasing info about UGM. Is Peter Obi not an IPOB proxy? |
