mvem: did he give him incentives or money for the organ? You know it is wrong to buy organs from people, I think only donation is permissible. Why do you think people prefer countries like Malaysia for all these ?...because they have loose ends and the laws are not strict
You don't buy organs from people, you only do nate. The issue is not just age but the process and the manner things were done. This is not Nigeria
True. However I refuse to believe an associate professor in law, a ph.d holder, a former deputy senate president has not covered his tracks as regards payment. I believe the payment was to occur on return to Nigeria after the operation but as the boy was not a match, that could have been what triggered his decision to run to the police….the fear that he would go back to his old life inNigeria and no payment.
chigator2: It has become evident that the core objective of holding public office in this country is to steal more than you need and funny enough it has become a competition where one has to steal more than his/her predecessor. They borrow to steal, indebting future generations and enriching themselves.
Makes me wonder where Nigeria will eventually be in the next 20 years. It leaves no room for optimism.
It is becoming? You are worried about 20yrs time? You should have been worried about today 20 years ago!!!
KingofAnambra: I don't know why ICPC is always going after small thieves like Buratai but ignore the big thieves like Pandora Peter Obi. Why?
I cannot stand Peter Obi, I think he is a fraud but you are doing the same things his supporters do by creating false stories. Peter Obi simply had the misfortune of residing in the same block of flats as the NSA man (Oke) who stashed millions of dollars in cash in his flat.
Peter Obi has enough lies and inconsistencies without you needing to manufacture new ones. He self sabotages every day.
Skankamola: Nobody is fighting with you oga. Read carefully and understand.
You read carefully and understand. I am not a PDP supporter, I do not hold brief for Ekweremadu but I know he is a lawyer, he has a proper Ph.D in law, not all this fake honorary degree, he was a university lecturer. I do not believe a lawyer would be so sloppy as to do the right thing with respect to the embassy and visa application, knowing the implications of putting his name on a document specifically stating the purpose of the trip and fail to verify the age of the boy.
Because they boy says he is 15 does not mean he is 15. Because a woman runs to the police and says my husband beat me does not mean she was indeed beaten.
My bet is the boy is trying to take advantage of asylum laws in the same ways many straight Nigerian refugees will tell the Uk they are gay to gain asylum in the UK. It is what I would do if I was in the boys shoes.
Skankamola: How do you mean? By stating he is 21years when he isnt? Or because he is less than 18years and "cant be an organ donor"?
Who told you he isn’t 21? Has it occurred to you the boy is trying to gain asylum in the UK? Do you think a deputy senate president who went to the official channels and put his name on the official supporting documents for a visa application specifically stating the purpose is for organ donation has not verified the age of the boy?
Maybe he is not homeless after all then. We might have been misled. This is not a homeless child. The arrangements must have been sanctioned by his parents since there was no public outcry of a kidnap.
Vote TINUBU 2023. Vote APC.
If you have every been abroad you will realize those pictures were taken in England
I am not a PDP or Ekweremadu supporter but I have reason to believe Ekweremadu went through the proper channels.
You could argue that Ekweremadu tried to take advantage of a poor boy and offered him a better life in exchange for a kidney. You could argue on the morality of it but it isn’t illegal! They had a deal.
This is what I think happened.
Either the boy scammed Ekweremadu by lying about his age from the start knowing when he gets to the Uk all he has to do is claim to be a minor and get asylum. Or realizing he wasnt a match, the boy realized he had no usefulness and pulled a fast one. From the clothes and his posts on his Instagram page, you could tell he was being taken care of, contrary to his claims to the police that he wasn’t treated well.
I have no doubt there are many people who engage in organ harvesting for rituals and other reasons in Nigeria but the fact that Ekweremadu wrote to the embassy and specifically detailed the nature and purpose of the trip suggests to me this was above board. This does not mean he hasn’t knowingly or unknowingly broken some laws.
The problem for Ekweremadu is that in the UK , children and women are a protected species, it’s their word against yours. Rarely will you win a case against a child or a woman.
Quest7777: Same Ekweremadu that was advising Obidient Nigerians not to waste their votes on PO. Now he has not only wasted his vote; he's about to waste his life.
Can’t you guys just shut the fu ck up for once!!! Not everything is about politics!!!

evangmx: I just lost my job like 2 months ago. I use my car to do can work. My wife works as well. And we have 2 children.
I want you to tell me the truth am I doing bad or good?
I pay all the bills at home, I still give out 15k every week for food.
But my wife still complain. I don't know what she use her salary to do. All I know is that she use to wear new cloth every Sunday and new shoes. And buys cloth for the children once in a while.
Pls tell me if am doing bad.
A man who is doing well knows he is doing well and doesnt have to ask
angelfallz: I know 3 people whose younger sister married the man they were to marry.
1st one - 4 months to the wedding - Help me drop my sister in school. Sister got pregnant. Family insisted he marry her.
2nd one - Few weeks to wedding, came to announce he preferred the sister. Everyone prayed sister would decline. She didn't. She went ahead to marry him.
3rd one - Man lived abroad and someone connected them. They had talked and planned for months. Man visits Nigeria, came to the house, met sister and she hosted him until the main babe came home. Man says he now wants sister.
By some very rare coincidence, all 3 ladies are over 47 today and haven't gotten married yet.
Gisting about it today with a friend, she is asking if the sisters should be forgiven or if we should hide our sisters.
What can I say?
I don't know biko.
My own sister would never marry or even get an inch close to a man connected to me in any way, but I guess we are all different.
It can only happen to people so badly trained it is not a taboo to sleep or have a relationship of any sort with your siblings boyfriends and ex boyfriends. It is a sign of bad upbringing because anyone who is well brought up the thought cannot even enter your mind.
kponkedenge: Lagos was the capital of Nigeria for 77 years.... going as far back as before Nigeria even gained her independence, with a lot of federal allocation within that time frame. A lot of companies also situated their headquarters there and refused to relocate after the capital was moved to Abuja, so it is only logical other states comes to learn about it.
Below are old photos from lagos in the 60s/70s.
It is true that Lagos benefited from being the federal capital but Lagos island was the capital of Nigeria not the rest of Lagos state. The rest of Lagos, i.e Apapa, ilupeju, Ikeja, Surulere, Badagry, epe, were under the western region and were developed by Awolowo. All those industrial estates in Apapa, ilupeju, isolo, Ikorodu, Oregun etc were developed by Awo. Ikeja for example was bush land as recently as the 1960s, that’s why the army barracks is located there, it was at that time on the outskirts of what was the the federal capital. In fact the name Ikeja does not exist in history. It is an acronym for Ikorodu and Epe joint administration. IK E JA
Biodun556: iykeburuo: For the fact that state like Borno could complete registration on line and physical in a state where we understood the state of insecurity and telecommunication, something is not really adding up. NIGERIA
delemomoduovation: @iykeburuo Pls stop judging from afar. Borno State is very much into technology. When I requested for applications for the Ovation Palliatives of N5,000 per lucky winner, Borno returned the largest applications of nearly 8,000 applicants closely followed by Bauchi State...
Dele Momodu must always find a way to sing his own praises in anything he does or says, even when the issue is not about him. See me i am a wonderful guy I shared palliatives
agabaI23: He has said in several media appearances that he did not owe any contractor when he left office. You can actually watch his interview with 90.3 fm on YouTube
you are clearly ignorant. I borrow 1m from the bank, I am due payment every month today is 22nd and my payment is not due till 30th. it is fraudulent for me not to include my loan (liability or debt) of 1m simply because it is not due till 30th. i have been through this adnauseum. it is fraud!!! it presents a picture of me being more financially buoyant than I am. Plus it breaches all rules of accounting.
agabaI23: You are not a regular BMC crew sir respect. I had someone like you here supporting Buhari in 2015. But he ran away after everything I told him will happen about Buhari began to happen. You are like him in that he is reasonable and can do what you just did. His mind about Buhari was made up. We were friends here but he couldn't bear the shame of Buhari's performance within 18 months.
Sir, join me now to campaign for Obi. Obi will help all of us. I am not from Anambra but I have lived here since his days in the Government house and I am talking from a point of experience.
I deal in facts, you on the other hand dont seem to want to,. I have already told you that Obi's handover statement that you keep posting is actually evidence of accounting fraud because he failed to include the N185B contract. i have explained this many times and i wont go through it again with every Obi supporter, You can read my posts in this thread. The picture you keep posting to attract my attention is a fraudulent statement of accounts. liabilities. In your ignorance you dont know you are posting evidence of fraud. At least you know if presented with facts i will recant, now you show you are capable of same.
below is a post on the same issue I will not keep repeating myself with every Obi supporter. Obi commited accounting fraud in his handover notes.
casualobserver: Clealry I am wasting my time with you. why did he include FG refund that he hasnt received but failed to include contracts he hasnt paid for. At least be consistent, if you are going to include cash refunds that havebnt materialised, then include contractor liabilities that havent materialised. If you are going to include bond investments that you have no access to because they havent matured, then include liabilities that havent matured. You cannot pick and choose, that is accounting fraud.
There is no doubt He inherited debt and will pas on debt to his successor, he also inherited assets and will pass on assets. Government is a continium. My contention is that he deliberately did not include the 185B debt because saying I left 75B sounds better than the truth which is he left N105 billion in net debt and liabilities as confirmed by Obiano a trained career accountant and professional banker, who knows how to prepare accounts.
There is nothing wrong with admitting your man was wrong, this is why Obi supporters have developed a reputation, it is as if admitting fault means you cant support your man. What you instead do is present yourselves a a bumch of people who dont use their brains and cant be reasoned with. I support Tinubu, he has many flaws, I wont defend it when people accuse him of this or that that I know is true. I will even admit he has plenty K-leg but upon all his K-leg, I still feel he is the better of the poor choices we have. The problem with the vast majority of you people is that you defend the indefensible.
casualobserver: Abeg please stop quoting me. I am not interested in debating someone who does not understand the legal and accounting implications of a contract or someone who doesnt understand the basics of accounting and how many fundamental accounting principles are breached in that handover note.
including
Accrual principle, Conservatism principle, Consistency principle, Full disclosure principle, Reliability principle, Revenue recognition principle Time period principle but i am certain you have no idea what any of these mean or else you will not be spewing out the crap you are typing.
There are a few level headed reasonable Obi supporters, i encountered one earlier in this thread but they are few and far between and you are clearly not one of them. I refuse to engage imbec1les who will continue to argue the world is flat because their leader says it is flat. I dont have time for idiots and the brain dead!
Fahdiga: If Wike is highly OBIdient then why can't you be OBIdient too? Peter Obi is a divine movement that is sent to liberate Nigerians. God in his infinite mercy has heard our cries. Let us all rally behind the chosen one so that we can move forward as a nation
I thought Nnambi Kanu was the divine movement, is he not the one God sent to liberate you again?
ogatboy: Sorry professional, there are conditions for every contract to receive payment. The fact you sign a contract does not guarantee you are paid for it except you fufil the conditions. As at the time the guy left office, all concluded contracts was paid for. YOu have find fault tire, you no see. Let the contractor sue him first. All of una when me nairaland professionals.
Abeg please stop quoting me. I am not interested in debating someone who does not understand the legal and accounting implications of a contract or someone who doesnt understand the basics of accounting and how many fundamental accounting principles are breached in that handover note.

ogatboy: I think you are trying to look for a fault. As at the time he left, the debt was not existing.
Go and tell the contractors handling the jobs.
The debt or liability exists the minute the contract is signed and provision must be made by all in the accounts. That it is not due for payment does not mean it doesn’t exist. Like I said the state was either run by quacks or the handover notes are fraudulent…pick one. This is my profession you are not in a position to argue with me.
You are clearly ignorant. Please go and speak to an accountant who can school you properly.
ogatboy: You're holding claim to this debt. I agree it was there but what was he supposed to do?? Besides if the present governor felt he couldn't pay up, he could have cancelled because the projects were not delivered. You also forget he was left huge amount of debts and he did not complain. He made a true and verifiable statement. He was not owing any debt for any contract that had delivered certificate.
For me he's the most trustworthy POLITICIANS

agabaI23: What if it was a mistake? That was 4 years ago. Has he repeated that since then? You know you can easily verify directly from him because he has been holding interactive sessions and more will come. Have you also verified the investments in bonds? have you seen this hand over note? What do you say?
Why didn’t he include the 185b in contract liabilities if he can include FG refund that hasn’t crystallized
