totalbaby: I don"t know what is wrong with me lately. I don"t even have words to describe how I feel.Join a prayer meeting group, at least 2x weekly. Trust me. You will be amazed at the impact on your mind. |
Well. The dude may be right in some aspects but saying that the South Africans killed NW to promote TV series doesn't sound intelligent enough. Hollywood has an ever increasing series but they never took the shine off movies. Besides, it is only recently that I see Nollywood movies advertised at the cinemas, though I'm yet to see one but I'm sure other folks do. Back in the days of Emeka Ike, the production quality were never good enough for the big screen. P.S. He means that those big time producers of the 90s are now outta jobs? Remy jes? Ossy Affasson? Kas vid? Who would have thought? #strangelife |
This deliberate neglect of RIM by App Developers is surely getting out of hand. Sorry BB gang, I just searched Appworld, Ruzzle is not available. The BB 10 OS will either be the redemption or RIM bites the dust for good. |
I was using a GTB atm to withdraw from my GTB account on a weekend, the atm ceased the card. I went to the bank on a working day to ask for my card but was surprised when they told me they are going to issue a new card and it willl be deducted from my account .2k was deducted from my account. After that day I transfered all my fund to another bank. GTB=corporate thieves.
2k for a Debit Card? Hope you are being factual here. Unless it's a credit card, no debit card is more than 1k in Naija today. What everybody should always carry along is a photo ID card to help the bank officer confirm you are the rightful owner of the trapped card. Hence you get your card retrieved immediately. Otherwise, they will send it to your bank and it takes longer time to get back to you. |
Guys, this is good news coming from our much maligned ivory tower. But then again we must understand that this is still an on-going research with positive outcomes. Prof and his team needs all the support they can get. It will still take up to five years, all things being equal, for full pharmacological tests and proofs to be concluded. The Prof will surely need tons of cash in this process, when you consider that it costs big pharma coys hundreds of millions of dollars to develop a single drug. On another development, seeing that HIV business is a big drug business (pun intended), will the international bodies give up so easily? Time will tell. |
Koolking: Interesting! I watched similar stuffs in 'Dance Revolution', I was like 'how did these guys come to this? It was an amazing sight to behold. I literally watched that movie over and over again because of the inherent creativity of those dancers. You just reminded me to go and see that stuff again. It was damn too magical. The choreographer must be from Venus! These are things you see and you get awed at the power of the human ingenuity. No wonder, We are gods! Forget about the lousy Ogun and Amadiohas |
It's the boy Messi again! Pele can now go on a terminal hunger strike. Lol |
coogar: he probably belongs to a gang.......A plausible case-scenario. For the young guys that are fascinated with gang activities, you need to know that there ain't nothing there. You live hard and die hard, the world Moves on |
Well, coming from Forbes, that's Ok stat for the Yankees. If you do a Naija list, you better swap that Nurse position from bottom to top list. Some of them do their works as if their conscience were dead and buried, no single iota of empathy on the Patients they are meant to care for. They can watch a pregnant woman bleed to death with the baby, and not lift a finger to help. |
engineerd: From the responses ON here it is apparent why simple things are very difficult to achieve in Nigeria. Basic simple conversational etiquette issue and you see a lot of dim-witted responses! When one lacks the basic understanding of the issue or subject of discussion, you get a lot of charlatans giving nonsensical opinions and views! @ SIENA, you have made your point, any further attempt to convince ignoramuses on here otherwise will prove futile. What exactly makes you think that British imposed etiquette on conversation should be binding on Nigerians? It's enough that we speak English at work. We are crying that most of our Languages are going extinct because of this official policy at work, now you are also expecting someone not to speak their mother tongue at home because you are the 'official' husband? It's absolutely ridiculous. The joy of inter-tribal marriage that some too legalistic folks miss out on is the ability for the couples and the kids to learn both languages fluently and everybody becomes multi-lingual. |
Siena: It's rude to speak in a language your spouse can't understand, more so when the wife and her family have a common language with her husband - English and Yoruba. It's just as rude as whispering in the company of others.Surprises! Personally, I don't give a hoot if my wife is having a convo with someone. She can as well speak in catalunya if she wishes, especially when I'm not involved, Knowing fully well that she'll fill me in if it's something I need to know. That is why trust and understanding is crucial in marriage, when I know that even in my absence, my wife can never do things that will bring me pains, how much more when I'm within ear-shot. It would be different if all of us are having the convo and they go off on a language I can't follow. Sometimes communication needs connecting with people at a personal level, saying some things that brought/endeared you together in the first place, moreso when it's one's parents. I think some people are too legalistic in this marriage thing, comparing casual communications at home with official language policy at work is really a bit high- handed in my opinion. |
pro01: It's not difficult to see why "HR Personals" insist on certain grades.Lol. Most folks still don't understand that it's the little stuff that makes the Big difference. |
As funny as this thread is, Responses here shows it's really a big issue in some homes, like the lady that said that once the hubby returns, she leaves the sitting room. I wish the cable operators can take these feedback as business intelligence so they can device better programing that allows a home with multiple screens to watch different channels without having to buy multiple top boxes. In my home, I think I act the emperor once I'm around, funny enough I always feel their frustrations but I can't help it. Lol Wifey only watches those telenovelas from 10PM while her younger sis. is the music channels freak (she takes over in my absence). The little kids are Cartoon and Ben 10 wannabes. The elder one who can talk will just tell me with her mouth pouting 'Daddy, you are not my friend again' and I'll respond, 'oh dear, but I'm your Daddy'. Lol Sometimes, I just move from channel to channel looking for whatever interests me, and when I can't find, I dump them and move into the room with my phone and lappy. Chai! Our parents no get this wahala in the 80s with Premium NTA o. Lol |
dayokanu: Umaru Sullivan YarAdua Chime where are you?Lol. He is playing tennis with the Williams sisters in the US. If you still doubt it, persuade OBJ to give the guy a publicized call. Our politicians are really from outer space! |
Ptimes: The Jigawa State Government has threatened to prosecute traders who manhandle chickens and other poultry animals in the state.Wow! You mean citizens right is now fully protected in Jigawa to the overflowing measure that it is now chicken's time of enjoyment. Who says democracy is not working in Nigeria? Meanwhile, what exactly does 'manhandling chickens' stand for. Do they engage in humans/chickens fight in Jigawa? |
tarababy: I have spoken to the pastor, friends and family. He promised all of them he would stop but obviously he can't control his temper.Well. Some people are just better off living alone than being an unnecessary burden to someone else. My question will be, does he also spit on coleagues at work?, his friends and other family members when they annoy him? What of on the street? Why will he be dehumanizing the only one he vowed to Love and protect? My elder brother's wife too used to break china, car windshield and whatever she lays her hand on, during quarrels. Ultimately, she was sent parking when the guy couldn't bear it anymore. You need to separate yourself from that maniac before he maims/kill you because he surely has no single value for your precious life. |
obadiah777: BRUV, IF IT IS YOUR TIME TO GO IT IS YOUR TIME. DONT MATTER IF YOU ARE IN IRAQ OR SWITZERLANDThis is pure gabbage, sir. There is a reason why one country has a life expectancy of 80years while another has hers at 45. If you live in a high violent environment, don't blame the gods if you get mowed down in your prime. Truth is we have become so selfish and materialistic that a governor will rather use the state resources to buy a private jet he flies in alone than to fix the roads that will benefit the whole community. The youths on the other hand want to ride flashy cars at the expense of other people's lives. This victim of senseless murder would still have been alive if he did not come home to help his people. It is not that complex to decipher. |
Babzilla: I ENDORSE THIS. ONE CAN NEVER BE A MILLIONAIRE BY DOING 9-5JOBS. ITS ABOUT VISION WHICH SADLY OUR YOUTHS LACK! ALWAYS LOOKING 4 SHORTCUT.The way some of you make assertions are simply laughable. Are you aware that the annual pay of staff from middle mgt upwards, of all the quoted companies on the NSE and most of the ones not quoted like the telecoms, etc are well over #10m? Are you also aware that these level of staff are in their thousands? If you earn #10m and spends #4m in a year, what is your net? Saying that you can NEVER be a millionaire doing 9-5 job is a simple gimmick motivational speakers use to sell their wares. Don't buy that crap ideology. |
Billyonaire: I think you are scared. Likely you are one of those guys who dupe others.Scared of Internet Tigers like you right? Nah. Read my signature again, It's not a Cliche. It's only a vainglorious person that will reason the way you did after reading clearly that the bandits trailed the guy from a BDC where he just finished trxns. |
I'm having difficulties uploading pix...keeps saying pix is too large.
Right click on the pix, open with microsoft office.Click on 'Edit pictures', then 'compress' under the compress options, chose use on a web page. |
Billyonaire: Thats what happens when you live in US and dupe Nigerians who send you money to make purchases for them... I am waiting for the one that has changed his phone line for the past 2 yrs after receiving my millions. I dont expect it to make news anyway.Sorry bro but you are a first class I.diot, completely iredeemable! I remember seeing the announcement of this their medical trip event in the past few weeks, and one thing that came to my mind was to hope that these guys have secured full police protection, knowing how terrible the east has become for perceived wealthy returnees. |
Oga Spyder and the rest of the 042 crew, it was really fun being here. There was never a dull moment. Driving round the fully lit streets @1-3am without any fear of negative incident is really a big plus. Fresh n barbecue fish from villa Toscana is also something to shout about! Not forgeting ofe okwuru Emily and Nsala Dolphin Restaurant! For the guys clamouring for Airport renovation pix. I've got something for you. I'll post them when I touch down. |
Sorry guys. I couldn't get Pix from the Road block. It was Jam packed n star studded. Uche Ogbuagu I go die Chudy K Nigga Raw Flavour - I left after his performance arnd 3am. Others that were still backstage: Tuface, Terry G, Timaya, Duncan Mighty, Davido! I wonder what time they all finished. One thing I must say about the event management: top class! The security was tight, main venue centre was well barricaded from the teeming crowd with a perimeter. |

More pix from the Carnival Road show. I must comment that Enugu has taken the infamous 'African time' to an all time low. All the indoor events started at least 4-5 hours late! The road show was billed for 10am, but it started 4pm.

Okpara Square Live! More pix coming later.

Guys please remove snails from the list. That ain't seafood at all. Serve me some prawns n king lobsters and I'll be good. Then I can also snack on those Calamari squid in batter! yummies! |
Wow. The writer witnessed it all. Also missed it by the whiskers. Life is surely, but a fleeting moment. More reason why I just laugh when I see people swearing and boasting of what their ego can do.*smh* |
Emperoh: Guy,I seriously doubt this. We were still with the wife, up till 12-1am this morning. She wouldn't be socializing with such news on the radar. Meanwhile that UMOJA shindig ain't really nothing spectacular that our national troupe, traditional dancers, Etilogwu and the rest of them can't beat. All I see is that the management of the troupe have suave presentation and marketing skills that they use to push the group to global audience. The Spirit of David group also comes to mind here. |
