eaglechild: Pls give me the time and venue! Its 8PM bro. About time Though its STRICTLY on Invitation |
I've breezed in LIVE! in coal city! The Carnval really ain't like the Calabar stuff where the whole streets is agog with festivities, apart from the NBL/Star joint at one end of the Okpara square as captured by Spyder, i can't see anything much. Even my company that is supposed to have a pavillion at the square are yet to set up. It also looks like the real deal will be comng up next week when the street storms are scheduled to hold. Meanwhile, there is something of a silent achiever trait in Sullivan's regime. My Chime Avenue home has workers from the water board seriously laying up new water pipes and connecting all the residents without much media hype. Infact, you'll just love the serenity that this city exudes! Let me just chill till night time for the UMOJA troupe @d Royale. That's my major expectation from the carnival, anyway |
alienvirus: Back viewChoi! LWFMH. It seems you also used Nigerian made camera to shoot as all your pictures could get is half of the Limo at each time ![]() Or is it that the length of the car is in Kilometers |
Wow! Spyder, this little seed you sowed has hit over 80 pages! Good job bro. We are coming into coal city for the cultural Carnival. I am looking forward to the coal-city feel again. The South African UMOJA dance troupe will be jigging @d Golden Royale over the weekend. Can't wait! |
tanimola22: Please allow me comment on the above. I wanted to comment so that other people would become aware of the state of things in IB space. My input was based on the title thread which i believe is hinged on entry level demands/pay. There is no doubt that experienced IBs still cut large chunk of cheese but just look back to around '05-'08 when the market was so vibrant. There was so much demand for new hires, even experienced bankers were jumping fence to join the IB train. Then, pay was constantly being reviewed upwards to attract the best hands. |
lucom: Talking about little known, steady above half a million six figure monthly pay job with extensive international travels and unimaginable pecks and benefits? Ans:International NGO, Usually they don't keep more than 5 staffs nationwide and you can hardly hear about them. You are absolutely right. I didn't want to include them because they are not available to an average person to pursue. |
Jarus: Investment banking used to highly rewarding, financially. Don't know whether it still is.Lol Dude. Who talks about IB these days? Since the NSE has gone to the bears that path is on the serious decline. By the way, how many IPOs came to the market this year? I'll still give it to the Telcos, Commercial banking, Multinational FMCGs in that order. |
Until we have ubiquitous standard Garages run by tech-educated hands in major cities, Car purchases will continue to be run by advise from the average uneducated mechs around town, and you know what they will keep advising people on? yeah...the Japanese. It's still the only ones they can fiddle by trial and error and still come up with some crude temporary solutions, only to create a much more bigger problem in the near future. Those are the ones they can easily 'remove the thermostat', 'change the radiator from single to double cell', 'remove the catalytic converter','add a pink color coolant into a reservoir containing a green one' and tell you that it is better that way!!! If you want to buy today's car, your best bet is to seek an educated tech's advise, and not from your road-side mechanic, unless off course you want to buy the 1980's model with carburetor engines. |
Erm...RIM Where is the damn hard QWERTY ![]() Just make sure there is a full qwerty model sha. That's the only BB attraction to me. If i need touch screen, i know where to get iphone. |
doctorjohn: Please permit me to use this medium to let nigerians know how unreliable our banks are. I have a domicilliary account wit first bank nigeria at owerri douglas road branch. I transfer some money for some business transactions on friday 16th on this month . Since then the money has not gotten to the recipient. It beats me how digital-age people still get stuck in analogue systems, only to keep complaining when it goes at snail speed. The same First bank has an excellent onlinebanking platform that you can use at the comfort of your home to wire money to any foreign bank. All you need is your token to ensure security of your account. Analogue foreign transfers has a max of 3weeks timeline nation wide. Go figure! |
pinky21: I don't ve a carMind if i buy you one? ![]() |
Lexusgs430: But one is specially formulated to care for clothing fabric, while the other is also formulated to care for cookery products and the other is also specially formulated to care for car paint works, metal etc etc etc LWFMH!!! There is actually a popular Car Wash liquid can in most shops, i think it's produced by one Badmus company or so. You just can't miss it if you ask, and it's cheap too, less than 500bucks. This keeps your car shinning year on year. Badly enough, most 'car wash' centres in Lagos use detergent! |
captalex: Is it located before i get to the Opebi-link bridge?Nah. If you get into Kudirat from Awolowo end, Morrison is the first street on the right, after Mobil |
These Golden generation of Life Coaches are gradually phasing out. But their works will continue to enrich lives for all times. First it was Norman Vincent Pearl- Power of positive thinking, then Robert Schuller - Tough times never last, tough people do, followed by Stephen R Covey- 7 Habits of Highly effective people, and now ZIG himself- See you at the Top! No matter how hopeless you think your life/situation is, if you feed on these books and work the principles these men espouse, you will be amazed at what you will become thereafter. |
cecegorz: Sorry i missed this.@Siena I guess you missed this. Meanwhile, how do I order for the Pink so you can deliver to me in Lagos? I will need the quantity that will be enough to fill the radiator and the reservoir in the 50:50 water mix, and probably some extra for future top up. |
category: My boy is just 3.You are doing well already. In language learning, you start off understanding, then you start forming your own sentences. Just keep on communicating, before long, he will start speaking. it's a gradual thing. |
arabey20: Does the automedics guy have a shop in Abuja?Nah. Lagos only |
Siena: I can't recall your car make, model or engine type.Sorry i missed this. It's Camry '99 LE . 2.2L DOHC |
captalex: Could you describe where this workshop is located and what brands of cars they specialize on?It's the guy that runs Automedics Radio program every morning on Radio 102.3FM The WorkShop is Automaze, Morrison Ave,off Kudirat/Oregun road. Ikeja I can't say their specialty. I use Toyota though. I 've also seen most brands there; Honda, Benz, VW, BMW etc |
Siena: If you can't get the red / pink stuff, then it would make sense to import a 5 or 25 litre can. You should NOT be running plain water, and definitely NOT mix the green / blue coolant. Also, you should not drain the diluted stuff, and refill with the green / blue coolant. The aluminium material of your cylinder head will react to it.This is so timely! I was actually about to take that route of draining and putting in the green stuff. Thanks a lot for this info. Now, on the 50/50 mix ratio, when I get the pink coolant, seeing that what I have inside both the radiator and the reservoir now is more of water, do I need to drain everything, mix the ratio and poor in afresh OR Just to drain the reservoir tank only and pour in the mixed ratio. |
obadiah777: IF YOU WANT TO BE A BILLIONAIRE AND YOU ARE NOT ALREADY ? THEN YOU ARE NOT CONTENT. BEING CONTENT IS BEING HAPPY WITH WHERE YOU ARE. AND WHO TOLD YOU YOUHAD TO BE A BILLIONAIRE TO HELP THE LESS PRIVILEGED ? YOU CAN START NOW IF YOU FEEL SO MUCH FOR THE LESS PRIVILEGED. START A CHARITY AND THEN COLLECT DONATIONS. HOWEVER I GET THE FEELING YOU ARE HIDING YOUR COVETOUSNESS AND GREED UNDER 'HELPING THE LESS PRIVILEGED'Are you serious bro? Looks like your only reason for reading the Bible is just to look for who to condemn. You were actually judging the young man's Motives. How dare you? So because he is not a Billionare yet he shouldn't plan, shouldn't dream?, shouldn't have his expectations anymore? Did all the Billionaires woke up one day and became what they are without building it? Who has bewitched you? Which gospel are you preaching? Even if you had taken an oath of poverty, must you wish it on everybody? Your type is those that attribute everything good and luxurious to the devil. Agreed that the prosperity of fools shall destroy them, but more importantly is the truth in Job36vs11 'If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in Prosperity, and their years in Pleasures'. |
@OP I was thinking your topic was just the usual work-life balance situations we all have to deal with until I got to the part where you mentioned your wife's death. I am deeply sorry for that. Hope you get enough strength and courage to bear the loss. The truth about life is that challenges comes to both literates and illiterates, rich and poor, males and females alike. I think the most important prayer is that we be strong on the day of adversity. Some people's wives have died right in their arms, some people have also had all their kids delivered safely while they are never around. A friend of mine had to bury his wife who died of same complications after delivery of twins. He was very much around with the wife. Believe me, if you were a poor taxi driver and had this same issue, you may tend to blame it on the fact that you couldn't afford a better quality health care. Thank God for what you've got and look forward to the future. |
Ardenb: Wow...tanx. So its adviceable I drain out a bit of water in the reservoir container then? Also one last question....The color of the coolant in my radiator is pinkish but the one I bought is greenish, does it matter?I guess we are in the same fix here. My car came in with pinkish coolant but because I've not seen it anywhere to buy (all over Lagos, all I see in the shops is the green one, even asked someone in trade fair complex to check for me, same story ). Since then, I've been topping up with just water and it's almost fully diluted now. Anybody knows where I can get Pink in Lagos please Holla @your boy. |
Zaynee63: I have been using my Toyota 1997 Toyota Camry for some months now until I met someone who informed me that I better change my radiator from single to double cell if I want to enjoy the engine of the car and not end up with overheating issues. Is this true? The car's engine never show any sign of trouble o and I learnt that overheating issues will come sooner or later if you frequently spend a time in slow/static traffic (which happens to me more often because I work on the island and live in Ikeja). You may live to regret if you follow this quack advise by most 'unschooled' mechanics and Ladipo traders. Sometime early this year, I noticed a thin line crack on my radiator, and it was leaking water, so I went to a mechanic who said we should go to Ladipo and buy a replacement. Strangely they keep saying that I will have to buy a double-cell since the OEM single-cell is not good for Nigeria, and is not in the market. (the car already did 3years in Nigeria without a single engine problem) With serious doubt in my mind, but with no option I told them to fix the double-cell. But I was observant to notice that they removed the thermostat and once I start the engine, both radiator and AC fans comes up instantly which is abnormal. I just told them immediately to dismount it and put my old one back. Since the leak is just manageable I will be topping water in the mornings till I get OEM replacement. The next day, I went to a Professional auto mech shop and bought brand new OEM @30k and replaced the stuff with peace of mind. So, what these quacks just do is to condemn whatever component they don't understand in a car and put in their make-shift solution, which will perpetually make your car to misbehave. |
@Op, I just love the fact that you translated all these calories/carbs into Naija food equivalent, instead of copying figures from American or Italian staples and pasting for us. For my cousins that clear half loaf of sliced bread in one breakfast sitting, hope they will heed to this. Meanwhile, Lagos traffic had married me to Gala and Lacasera long time ooo. We need to divorce and then i think i should be carrying cucumber and Kunu, or is it Zobo in the car instead? ![]() And then, what's your issue with Fan Yogo? I thought yoghurts are first class probiotics? Please explain your reservations clearly. Good job |
Billyonaire: You are all over the map Mr; Let's confine our discourse to facts and not sentiments cos am using a phone to chat so I won't be able to respond to misfired emotions. Our discourse is Hait's homecoming. Its a welcomed development and will make indigent Africans put their houses in order. Africa has not been as great as it is since the beging of time. With Internet comes awareness and its the reason I am opportuned to actually know people like you and Shymmex exist, both of you are so negative about Nigeria and Africa that I am afraid you might bleach your skin white. To be frank with you, anyone who buys your ideologies is committing suicide of intelligence as regards patriotism. I am not proud of you both, I am sorry for that. But your application of intelligence is very very negative and that explains why you likely prefer to die and let your corpse be used to fertilize white man's pumpkin than come back home to our country Nigeria. Its a fat shame. I am not proud of you.No need to be sorry about the bolded. You sure spoke with candour. Those dudes are too emotional about the lack of Africa/Nigeria's progress that they have become a pitiable case that needs urgent help themselves. May be i should call it chronic frustration over issues that are beyond their immediate sphere of influence. In as much as i feel the need for accelerated development, i am equally sure that we are not where we used to be. |
Banixautos: At Banix Autos You can buy a car and spread the payment for one year, Find below the pictures of the cars and FIND .You must be kidding right? So you can just wake up one morning and tell a customer that has paid down equity, and may be another 2mths that your int rate is now 40% ?? So what happens if he decides to terminate the deal and call back for his funds? |
emeshot: STILL AVAILABLEEmeshot, I dey feel this your machine. Can you do 1.8? Where is it located? |
gboss4sure: Those of una wey de abuse GEJ as una no get Job, what punishment will be given to you? ![]() Spot on dude, i guess they should be stamped 'Do NOT employ -' on their fore heads! |
I will spare you guys the details, but mine was disastrous. Let me just say that i had to abandon the babe at Palms Mall, gave her taxi fare and feigned that i just had an emergency call to attend to, deleted her number from my cell and never heard from her ever. #pictures are deceptive |
usmsam: Eyaah!!! I feel for u bro. I had a similar problem to u. But mine was serious "H factor". It was too embarassing. I could not get a girlfriend, no friends and my family were too ashamed to take me out in public. I could not say my name right because it starts with a vowel or even write essay well because of my problem. Then one day i decided to see a doctor to get surgery on my throat. I did it and now i speak well. Thank God.Wow! Now, I really have a real pity on H-factor folks. You mean it's actually a medical condition? I thought it's just about having a wrong English teacher in primary school. This is unbelievable! |
Billyonaire: each of those drivers will be millionaires within months cos there are so many deals in the sector. Not really bro. Let's just say, they will be comfortable paying their bills and taking care of their families. Earning millions in salary and being a millionaire are miles apart. |
