Hello my people. I have an issue at hand. There's this guy I barely know, we met in my new hood, and we became friends. He is from a place I spent almost my childhood years in, that's what made me to fancy him, based on childhood memories of that great town, and they are generally good people. But I don't know his parents, brothers, family members etc.
So we see each other almost everyday. We go out and watch football matches and catch fun together, he is a nice guy, though with some flaws(everyone get their own flaws) , but his own is that he is a chronic gambler. Card gambling, virtual soccer etc. He gambles almost everyday.

Now he was issued quit notice from his house and he wants to move into my space temporarily, until he gets money to rent a new apartment. He's been to my house and slept over several times. I live in a two bedroom and parlour apartment, all alone, one of the rooms is even empty, I just use it as washroom.

So after discussing with him yesterday, I told him I will get back to him, he needs to move out of his old house latest this weekend.

So guys, I need your advice, I never lived together with another person before all through my life. Should I go ahead or should I just close my doors on him. My mind is telling me to look him straight face in the eye and tell him"am sorry guy, I wish I could help you out" But another thought is telling me to help a brother

I and this girl have been dating over a year. I took her serious, I've sacrifice a lot for her and it made me so heart broken when I noticed she cheated on me reason I almost took her life.

My girlfriend and I live in the same city (Mowe) but I traveled out of the city 2 months ago for work things (ibadan), so around last month she called me that her phone screen (Samsung) is broken, that she's just managing her phone and to fix it is 35k but she already have 15k so she's in need of 20k to complete it. So I sent her 21k.

Fast forward to Friday when I came back to mowe, I went to see her, I saw her holding iphone Xmax. I was like who gave you iPhone? She was just telling me lies upon lies. At first she said she swapped it, then I was like why didn't you tell me you bought iPhone and who gave you money to swap it becus you'll need over 190k to swap. To cut the long story short..

I later found out that a guy bought the phone for her. The 21k I sent to repair her phone, she repaired it and gave it to her younger sis.

I was so heartbroken. For a guy to buy her iphone that means she have been dating and having sex with the guy secretly without me knowing. She has been begging me, calling & texting since Friday but i didn't reply.

She texted me she was coming to my house yesterday. The only word I said to her since on Friday was to meet me in a uncompleted building close to my house yesterday, I have this machanic slege hammer, it's one of my tools I use for working, so I held it while waiting for her.

My plan was the moment she enter the building, just a powerful whiplash on her head and she's dead, I felt so cold inside of me, I was also shaking while holding the hammer and feeling so heartbroken. Then I heard a deep voice inside of me saying "YOU WILL REGRET YOUR ACTIONS" (twice)

Then she called me that she's there, I already sighted her through the window, I came out and I told her to run away and never come back anywhere around me again. She was still begging that she's sorry. And I said if only you know what I'm about to do, you will run.

She left, I just sat on the floor feeling so heartbroken.

My daughter sat for this year Nigeria Airforce secondary school examination and when the first list came out, her name was not there so she was so sad about it but I told her to forget about it.

Just two weeks ago, I enrolled her in a school where I spent 250k for tuition fee,books and uniform.

Just this morning, someone called me that her name just came out in the supplementary list. Honestly I really want her to attend the school but at the same time I am considering how much I have spent in his new school and definitely I will still spend more even if her go to the airforce

Please is it worth all the money and stress. I can overlook everything I have spent in the new school if I am assured airforce will give my child quality education

Instead of forfeiting the tuition,you can make arrangement with the school to pay for another student in the form of scholarship for that term.

Good evening Nairalanders. I decided to Create this new account to stay anonymous.
Long story short, my wife delivered our daughter a few days ago and she was diagnosed for “moderate birth asphyxia” because she couldn’t cry out loud after birth and didn’t breath well. according to the gynecologist, she came out very weak and a bit blue.

This was quite devastating and shocking to me and still is, and I wonder why this happened because she registered her ante-natal in same hospital and came for all the doctor’s appointments and took all the prescribed drugs she was given. Every thing was Normal until birth. Baby is full term (40 weeks). Did all the series of text and doctor certified her ok and fetus was fine.

Two weeks before the birth my wife was getting inpatient because lots of people had told her first babies usually come early and the doctor has been recommending cs in a subtle manner if she was inpatient. Being the husband and also scared of Nigeria health care, I was skeptical of the cs because there was no indication for cs. The pregnancy wasn’t at risk. Doctor said baby was ok and it’s either she do the cs if she can’t wait or we wait till when labor is due. Those where his words. I was just in a dilemma and had to make a decision ASAP.

So last week monday, we went to the doctor after much pressure for her normal monday appointment and the cs talk still came up. I said ok let’s book for cs and also asked him if I can go home and think about the cs. He said ok no problem, that baby was fine but I should listen to my wife if she wants the cs. I was still thinking, this is our first child and all. No complications, baby wasn’t overweight. She was 3.5 kg that monday. So Wednesday passed we didn’t go for the cs. On Thursday my wife complained of abnormal baby kick in the womb. She said baby hasn’t kicked that way through out the pregnancy. She called the doctor and doctor said it was normal kick.

The next morning Friday I took her to a lab to do a scan to check the health of the baby and know if it’s engaged yet. My plan was if baby doesn’t come out before Saturday, then by monday we would book for the cs. We went for the scan and everything according to the scan was normal apart from the baby’s weight being 3.88 which is almost 4kg. I said ok this baby is getting big and it might be too difficult for you during labor. I made up my mind that moment and we went to the hospital that Friday night for the cs. We booked for the next morning .

The doctor checked the fetus heart rate and said it was a bit low and said we have no choice than to do the cs which i supported fully. Next morning by 7 am she did the cs and some nurses came outside and told me congratulations. All of a sudden i saw some persons running upstairs. In about a minute they came downstairs with oxygen tank and I knew something was wrong. I became anxious even tho some came out and said everything was fine. It took about 10m before they allowed me inside to see the baby.
I saw my baby from afar being cleaned up with oxygen pipe on her nose and she was crying weakly. I was just happy and thought that was normal.

Later on, the pediatrician called me and told me series of jagons I didn’t understand Bcs I was too excited at that moment. Later she Said the baby has to be put in the icu unit for 24-48 hours for close observation. I said ok that’s fine provided my baby would be fine. So after some hours I went to the icu unit to see her and she was still on oxygen and was in incubator. They later removed her from the incubator that She doesn’t need it and just placed her on oxygen and light for jaundice with other fluids and antibiotics.

I suspected something wasn’t right when the pediatrician wasn’t coming out plain even though she is a consultant from a different teaching hospital. Mine is a good private hospital. She wasn’t just specific. I asked several times if baby would be fine, she just keep beating around the bush with no concrete explanation to what’s wrong with my baby and the cause for it.

After about three days in the icu, atleast she improved a bit. They took the oxygen off intermittently. She could poo, pee. Shake her feet but there’s no general body movement and her cry’s are still weak. I later found out that she has moderate birth asphyxia and I started making research about it and it breaks my heart what I see online. I started asking them questions with so much annoyance and need answer. They were just hiding and trying to dodge some questions. After 4 days the pediatrician callled me and also called the head doctor and said somethings about her health. Told me her condition is fair but in conclusion they would recommend I take her to a teaching hospital upth. I declined I told them why do they want to send her out if she was recovering. There was no explanation to it.

I started making research for a good children hospital and asking questions too and came up with a very good one. Very standard. I cleared the outrageous bills in the hospital and took her there and she was admitted immediately. The doctors also confirmed she has sepsis.

The story is long Guys I’m just trying to save time. Pls doctors in the house. What is ur experience about cases like this and parents that have experience this how was the recovery of the child. Did they develop well with no issue in the future. That is my fears. I know she will live but fear of the unknown is killing me.
I have read terrible stuffs about birth asphyxia.

My 3-year old few years back put his baby sister who was less than a month in his bicycle carrier. I was in the bathroom bathing when I had the baby's incessant cry,I opened the door to peep only to behold the sight. I didn't know when I ran out of the bathroom unclad. Thank goodness the baby didn't fall out. His explanation was that the baby was crying and he needed to make her happy.
Mother's should not leave their young ones unattended to. Even now that they are a bit grown,I make sure I check on them whenever the house is getting unnecessarily quiet.

You can ask for some of those seeds at the market. For water leaf,I planted the stems of the ones I bought from the market.
You can also sun-dry okro. Once it is very dry,you remove the seeds from the pod and plant.
You can check the internet for more resource on how to go about most of them.

Early this year,my family and I decided to use the undeveloped part of our property for a family garden.

Even the children were not left out as they planted some maize. It has been an interesting experience so far as we are all enthusiastic about the whole process. We take turns to tend to the crops.

Some of the crops we planted include:
* Maize
* Potatoes
* Okro
* Water leave
* Bitter leave
* Spinach
* Jute leave (Ewedu)
* Beans
* Yam
* Fluted pumpkin
Other random crops we have in our property are plantains, bananas, pineapples,scent leave, lemon grass,pawpaw and mango.

I get manure from a nearby poultry to boost the crop growth.

I will be sharing pictures to encourage anyone who wants to take same bold step. We are beginning to enjoy some of the harvests.

This initiative has helped limit the purchase of some family needs.

You have already set the precedence...this would have been the right time to correct that since they are still very young. Remember they will not always be with you.They will grow up and move to other locations,mix with other people...

A lot of ladies are going through this torture of heavy flow and are suffering in silence prolly because they feel they are alone in this mess. I was once ashamed to talk about it until it got to an unbearable point where I was spending tons on sanitaries and losing strength from so much loss of blood which recently resulted to the low blood pressure I experienced. Then I decided to go online and there I found out a lot of ladies and girls are also complaining about the same thing. Some have found their ways around it with the use of certain medication recommended (ibuprofen and levofem) and approved by professional gynaecologist. While some are still trying to figure out what they can use.

I settled for two of the recommended remedies and it has worked so far for me.

The gynaecologist went ahead to explain the science behind how Ibuprofen works to reduce or stop menstrual flow (temporarily).
The drug works by blocking the production of prostaglandins a hormone which forms the blood tissue in the uterus during a woman's cycle which is what sheds as menstrual blood when there's no conception.

Please, do your research for clarity as I've only explained this in a layman's language.

So, I think it better to stop the production of prostaglandin to avoid unnecessary blood flow.
