My name bears Patrick on my international passport, but in the degree certificate, it bears pattrick |

First you do extension of stay of your current B1/B2 status be sure to do it at the appropriate time 120 or 90 days before current stay expires ( this is so that you will not be out of status while waiting for F1) after which you apply for adjustment of status to F1.while you are waiting for your F1 status because it might take time, get ready to file another extension that is if first one was granted. Remember make sure you have enough money and proof of funds to sustain you while there without having to work illegally. Good luck FYI This process might take upto a year but it is doable. JaySterling: Hey guys
Quick question!
I’m currently in the states. I entered 2 months ago with a B1/B2 visa for a conference.
I was stamped in 6 months at the POE.
Now I wanna study, but the school I went to here in Illinois told me that I cannot attend the graduate program (MBA) I intend to study with a B1/B2 visa, that I need an F1.
So guys, can I apply for an F1 visa here in the states, or I will have to return to Nigeria and apply for it.
Basically, starting all over
Or can anyone recommend me any school in the states that would allow me do my masters in business administration with my B1/B2 visa. I’m currently in Chicago, but I don’t mind relocating to another state, so far a school there will accept me. |

For pepper go to walmart and other stores and look for habanero pepper it is the pepper called ata rodo, Cameron pepper or scent pepper. naijaeclectic: You're right oh! I was so sorry for myself when I arrived with an Infinix phone and three-mouth charger. I finally had to get a new phone and a new SIM + two-mouth adapter thingy.
Thanks for the great advice. I have one last addition: if you like pepper, please just buy loads of pepper, and save it in a Ziplock bag. If not, you will have to look for "effective" pepper.
I wish everyone arriving soon a safe trip! |

Go with your baby and also apply for her F2 too be sure to update your 1-20 to include her. University of Houston should have a day care center for students and other staff, ask them. There are a lot of day care around the city though expensive. Mumzeeo: Hello everyone, some of you asked for my transcript, I'll do my best to type out what I remember.
Date of interview: 18th December Venue: Abuja School: University of Houston (PHD) Funding: Covers tuition only Visa Denied
My interview went like this
VO: where are you going
Me: University of Houston for a PhD in Petroleum Engineering
VO: would you be going with your baby? (My baby was with me for the interview, the guy verifying the documents asked me to go back home and bring her).
Me. Yes
VO: have you ever travelled with her before?
Me: not out of the country, this would be my first time.
VO: where is your husband
Me: he's is here in Nigeria and would not be coming with us, he is in the military and presently working at the Navy headquarters
VO: have you ever worked before
Me: yes, I worked for two years but I resigned from my job about four months ago to start my PhD, I am currently done with my first semester
VO: who would care for your daughter when you go to school
Me: I have looked up the cost pre schools around university of Houston and I hope to enroll her in one on the days I have to go to school (my baby is 20months old)
VO: who is paying for your fees and expenses (something like that, cant remember the exact words)
Me: first I have a scholarship that covers my tuition, the remaining expenses will be paid by my father in law. He is a retired Admiral of the Nigerian Navy and presently the MD of a Global Spectrum Energy PLC, a shipping company that offers hipping services to offshore oil and gas companies.
VO: types endlessly and says visa will be denied for reasons stated in this paper (he passes me the green sheet) Now I have to state that a mistake was made on my I-20 and I only noticed it a night to my interview. For funding it was stated spouse as my sponsor but all my financial documents I sent to my school showed father in law so I wonder why the mistake was made. It has been corrected now and I have a new I-20 document.
Also for my funding, only in state tuition was highlighted as the funding from my school which is about $8.7k. And the deficit $6.5k was added to my own costs to be paid by me. When I reached out to the I-20 officer in my school she said out of state tuition is not included in the I-20, please is this true especially when the school paid all my fees which amounts to 18k annually, why reflect only 8k?
Also do I take my baby for the next interview, people kept on asking why I took her, but the man verifying the documents said I should go back home and get her if now I will have to schedule another interview for het. I'm confused. |

She has no issues at all as long as she has death certificate of her husband Good for her she stil uses her maiden name so it makes life easier for her. She can get a new birth certificate that puts has her maiden name as fathers name. N/B She needs the husband's death certificate( must come from a recognized health facility eg government hospitals) and burial flyer with a few pictures in order for her to get babies passport and also travel , just to prove she is not stealing the child from its father favouredtk: Hi everyone.
A friend of mine asked some questions which I'm not able to answer. She's not on NL but approved of me posting it here. Please, I need advice from experienced people here.
I will be sharing her story and her questions below. I'll be using imaginary names, so we can follow.
She (maiden name: Ada Okeke) recently lost her husband (Obi Eze) of 3yrs and they had a son (Junior Eze) together before his death. She is a first class graduate, currently on her Master's program here in Nigeria and is considering PhD in the US (Fall 2021).
She has not done her change of name but on the child's birth certificate, her name is written as Ada Eze.
She's still young, so there's every possibility of remarriage. The child is 18 months old.
Now, she has the following concerns: How will this affect her going with the child after getting the admission? Should she still do the change of name so that it matches what is on her child's certificate? Should she get another birth certificate for the child where her name is written as her maiden name Ada Okeke? Also, she wants to get her intl passport soon and is not sure if she should do change of name before then or use her maiden name.
It's really complicated but I hope I was able to explain well. Thanks in advance for your responses. |

It is only the admin who is the consular in charge of evacuation that can add numbers to the group. You give your number to someone in the group to drop it for the officer to add. Mine was given to the admin by sister Chiowerri. A lot of people are still expressing their intent to go home on the 4th flight. The 3rd flight sold out in less than 3days temyb: Hi. Sorry to bother you. Please this evacuation flight,am asking on behalf of someone that lost her hubby here in nigeria to covid and she's in the u.s and wants to come back home asap. Please any link to the whatapp group for the evacuation. She's alright in the process of registering on the Nigeria house portal. Many thanks in advance |

i understand the ETC applies for the nigerian end, what of the american end, since the babys US passport isnt out yet, would the baby be allowed to board the flight with birth certificate only?.
No U.S. citizen can use a birth certificate as identification to travel internationally by air, although the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) may accept a birth certificate as a secondary identification document for domestic air travel. It is important to note that a valid passport book is the only document accepted as proof of identity for international air travel, no matter where one is flying to or from.
pls, dont read and pass |

I am in Houston same situation, I will be going with ETC once the next flight is confirmed. See my message above isysleek: Good morning house. Been awhile. Please mums who are currently in Houston, have you been able to get US passport for baby? I have a friend who gave birth in March in Houston. She has gotten birth certificate, submitted application for US passport through post office but the passport is not ready till now. When she calls, they say they are only processing passport for emergency cases (travel for family member death or injury) and as such her minor's passport does not qualify for emergency so she should be patient.
She really wants to come back home.
Any advice on what she can do? Is there anything like emergency travel document to use in place of a US passport?
Please help. |

start planning to extend your visa based on the current situation. you have 45 days before your current 6months expires to do so. MamaOO: Just curious. Does anybody know if the US is gonna enforce the 6month overstay rules in light of this COVID-19 pandemic as a lot of people are stuck in the US at the moment and can’t get back to Nigeria as airspace has been shut for all flights. I keep wondering if they made any provisions for this. |

Correct. aye88: Like someone said, those who will still pay back the discount will , after all said and done. Everyone has their reasons for wanting the visa. The only reason i have to want to go to the us for now is vacation. My kids are citizens already, they cannot collect that one from them. If i need to shop, london is there. You wjll shop in all the malls till you drop. Most US stores are in canada, thats another option. Plenty schengen countries to visit. When US calm down, we will try again. |

How come if another person with a similar situation applies from another country they do no talk about it. Or the same person happen to be legally residing in another country and applies again from there they will not bring it up. Dare834: Unfortunately those discounts are not legal. That’s what a lot of people don’t know or are not aware of they charge it back to the government. It’s tax payers money and that’s crux of the problem. It’s aid coined as self pay discount . |

make plenty sense Abuleoshi: You guys requesting to pay up the discount you were given are the real MVPs. Someone got 10k discount under Jonathan when dollar was N160 to 1 Dollar. Now, same person will pay the 10k discount under Buhari when Dollar is N360 Nobi small thing ooh. For us, we got discount at Houston North West, because of the high rate of denials based on discount received, we didn't bother going to renew our USA visa when my wife got pregnant again. We Jejely went to apply for Canadian visa, gave birth to out baby in Canada in ending of last year, paid ALL our bills and we are back to Nigeria. Our accounting books where Houston North West discount appeared have long been closed and we have moved on. How do you give me discount cos I am a cash paying patient, then because Trump does not like my skin colour, I will go and pay a discount I LEGALLY received because of US Visa? Never ooh. There are too many countries to travel to that I can't be bothered with US Visa. Una well done sha |
