PoliticsRe: Appeal Court uphold the election of Abia state Gov by chidichris(m): 3:44pm On Feb 11, 2009
we ddnt expect anything less from the incumbent
this is a bias statement. what happened in edo state? how many incumbents were removed.

if you followed the judgement today, the main petitions were the govs secret cult membership and the gov and his deputy's failure to resign their former positions before contexting elections.

the court said the video clip was inadmissible based on the availability of the producer of the video clip showing a person slaimed to be gov t orji in okija shrine. again, it was confirmed that okija shrine is not a secret cult and oat taking is a legal way of deciding issues in the ibo society.

on the other hand, the gov of a state, his deputy, speaker of the house and his chief of staff are not members of civil services of a state hence they are allowed by law to context elections while in office.

the truth of the matter is that nigeria is a jungle and one man have decided to decide who sleeps where and when but the unfortunate thing is that some men are men enough to stand on the ways of obj and orji uzor kalu from the unset have proved himself worthy of denying obj control of abia state and major parts of the ibo land imo state inclussive.

onyema ugochukwu is the agent of a failed people called pdp and a devil in the name of obj. the unfortunate thing here is that he is in the wrong place.
PoliticsRe: What Is Happening In Abia State? (pics) by chidichris(m): 3:22pm On Feb 11, 2009
bcs of kalu's anti obj stands, abia state's oil wells were given to akwa ibom state untill yar adua decided to bring them back on assumption.
abia state's inherited debts from imo state(my state) were forcefully deducted from their allocation all these under obj to frustrate the state gov. kalu's personal airline was banned from nigeria and till date that airline has been serving as gambia's presidential jets.
the game of the fat devil was using the ppl against their own ppl like he did in anambra when he used chris uba against anambra ppl. he failed in imo state where araraume match him and in abia uzor kalu was too strong for him.
the good news here is that he failed in the ibo states. if uzor kalu was serving his as his boy, who will hear that kalu is a criminal? odili was loyal to him that he even gave up his presidential ambition at the point of convention and till date efcc or no one is calling odili a criminal.
the so called bad pictures are far much better that many parts of lagos. it was when hurricane attacked usa that we found out that new orlands is less than ajegunle.
the cnn presentation of niger delta with pictures forced obj to stop the nigerian adverts with cnn.
no matter what poision obj and ribadu have fed us with, orji in many ways have proved his strongness. to me, he represents an ibo man to a good standard.
appeal court's judgement of today has further messed up with obj's group.
most of us here were pedalling the rummour of how kalu will run away as soon as he left office, yet he was the first gov to hand over to a new gov and has remained in nigeria till date.
what orji uzor kalu represents is the ability of the ibos to resist fat fools even when they are made in ota.
at least in our life, we saw an ibo man who refused to be bought over.
if worshipping human beings is ideal, i will worship uzor kalu.
i could not see any gov who could stand obj scale thru in his second tenure, elected his own person and party member, faced the efcc, handed over his post and remained in nigeria, talking to press at will, defending his course and the ibo man's course.
shame to obj, shame to pdp, shame to all tools.

@poster,
the next thing u will do now is to get a new id since it is free of charge.
ibos shld live this life of refusing evil no matter where it is coming from.
obj used chris uba against his own people. lives and property were lost. the governance was at a standstill. orji uzor kalu from the unset stood up against the evils of the so called obj and was made a thief before us.
efcc arrested the present gov of abia state on the eve of his election. his campeign went on until he won against all odds. onyema ugochukwu was agent of that darkness called obj. kalu stood his ground till the appeal court confirmed him winner today.
obj shld go and leave the ibos to live their lives. he was and is and will remain a bad news but the only good news is that he lost in the ibo land.
idiot poster without a mind, why don't u ask obj why he gave oil wells belonging to abia state to akwa ibom people. it was yar adua who brought them back.
former abia state gov - chief kalu is that leaders the ibos need.
better go and close ur face in shame.
kalu was a thief because he refused to shine obj shoes. shame to obj and his supporters.
kalu is the man.

orji uzor kalu is a man.
if ibos must really on any man, kalu will be the man.
in him, i have seen a real and realistic ibo man.
at least, obj will know that somebody somewhere can really match him when he is in aso rock and otah farm.
once again, i say shame to obj.

@kobojunkie,
i v seen ur explaination and definition of democracy which is in line with the dictionary's definition.
i have also seen ur solutions to nigeria's problems.

permit me to tell u that u are living in a different planet.
i knew why i asked u how long u v been in the us. i v friends living there and i know how they reason.
what u have outlined here are more idealistic in nature.
who and how will the masses organise themselves to demand for accountability from the elected or ruling class? what do u do when u will be charged with felony and treason?
how many of ur family members are here in nigeria and how many of them are u going to give ur support to rise against the govt?
do u think if nigeria becomes good tomorrow, many nigerians will not com back to work here like u are working there in the us?
do u think u cannot be a hero if u can forget whatever u are doing there to come back and join force in making nigeria good?

i called ur suggestions idealistic because u and ur families will never be part of any form of revolution. i call it idealstic because our leaders have their own definition of democracy which is different from american democracy.

are u sending us to go and die on ur behalf for u to come back when everything is ok. it will not work for u. come back home so that we will do the work together.

Kobojunkie,
i am happy we have finally agreed that the problem of the country is from a failed system called govt otherwise known as leaders.
i still have problems with u here as it relates to solution(s).
i am sorry if the issue here is my ability to interprete the grammer or my inabilities to understand.
i want us to be more practical here.
every society is made up of the leaders and the led. assuming u and i are part of the led, how do we get involved in solving the problems of the scoiety called nigeria.
in offering ur solutions, i would want u to be more realistic than idealistic here knowing too well that some factors or situations are not obtainable here in nigeria.
again, the answer nigeria expects to move forward can never be get up because we are all standing from time immemorial and cannot be asked to stand up when we are already standing.
please point directly and mention ur points.

Am actually very ashamed of some of the replies on this thread except some few, I intentionally withheld some of the technical information's on this project with hope to come up with it as the thread progresses, but I lost interest as the standard of the replies could not meet my expectation, not that my expectation is high, I came here to discuss with regular Nigerians {which I am also} on this little project of mine almost hoping that people would demand for information's on the project in a civilized manner, but apparently it never happened. There are some levels of reasoning I would not stoop to, is not about ego, is just basic human standard. is only an Idiot that would think at this day and age, a sane person would download materials that belong to other people and claim ownership, forgive my being naive in posting this here in the first place, is just not the right place.

PoliticsRe: I Don't Believe The Problem With Nigeria Is Their Leaders by chidichris(m): 9:11pm On Feb 07, 2009
I do have a question. Why are you and so many others against the idea of calling Nigerians to realize that to see change, they have to as citizens change?

Quote from: chidichris on Today at 02:58:22 PM
i think the simpliest way to solve this arguement will be to outline the problems we have as nigerians. upon doing so, we will be able to link the govt or the people to any of these problems.
to me, the following are some of the major problems nigeria are facing till date;
1. power supply : i can't see how individuals can get this for nigeria and we know that the development of every country depends heavily on power supply. so govt is responsible for this.
Calling people to action does not mean same thing as having individuals go out to build their own power plants. That is not what it is about. We pay taxes; it is our duty to see that the money is used by those we hire to do exactly what we need the money used for. Any other plans contrary needs to be rejected and these individuals fired.
Last I checked Democracy is government for the people by the people. Notice that the definition emphasizes that the people have a big role to play in government when it comes to democracy. Can we continue to act the way we did under military rule in a democracy when we know that the new system REQUIRES and DEMANDS we be involved to hold those we put in government accountable?

Quote from: chidichris on Today at 02:58:22 PM
2. election : the latest development in nigeria today has shifted the decission of who to lead nigeria and nigerians from the masses to the govt. from the position of things since 2003, there have been more of selection in nigeria hence the govt have failed the people by selecting the wrong ppl.
So what are the people to do? Sit back, knowing the government has failed them and continue to allow these EMPLOYEES of the people continue to fail us while we continue to work hard to pay their salaries?

Quote from: chidichris on Today at 02:58:22 PM
3. embezzlement of public funds : the masses are far from having access to public funds. this has been an outstanding problem as public leaders have seen their position as juicy hence the opportunity to embezzle our public funds.
And do you advocate we continue to sit, doing nothing about it, while they continue their acts? I mean it is one way or the other. Which do we choose?

Quote from: chidichris on Today at 02:58:22 PM
4. security : foriegn investor considers security as one of their criterias for going to any country and in a normal society, provision of security for lives and property remains a role for the govt.

Again, do we choose to continue with the status quo or do we choose to take over the game by acting to ensure we put in leaders who can understand they work for us?

Quote from: chidichris on Today at 02:58:22 PM
5. leadership by example : our leaders have thought us the need of using any slight opportunity to make ourselves rich hence the followers.
please no need to be wasting time arguing unnecessarily. Highlight ur points and let us know how the people instead of the govt is the problem of nigeria

It is all simple. Do we as a people continue to sit back, arguing or debating how bad things are in Nigeria? Or do we act? Which one? Whichever choice you make decides your understanding of the problem and to be honest, it is all good.
kobojunkie,
in all the five points so far mentioned above, your reply is just one answer, which; Do we as a people continue to sit back, arguing or debating how bad things are in Nigeria?

now i would want us to agree on one thing first. who is the problem? if we accept that the govt is a failed system, then we can think solution or how the people will act.

assuming from your response, that the crime of the people is sitting down and watching the govt spoil the country, then what do u think is a way out?
be informed that most of the things u were thought in political science about govt and governance are not obtainable here in nigeria. do not be decieved.
many of us here are aware of the urgly situation but we can do little or nothing to change the system. men like chinue achebe, gani, soyinka have made all the necessary moves yet nothing has changed and the worst they have been able to do was rejecting awards from the federal govt.

have u asked urself why intellectuals like okonjo iweala could not last in our own system?

there is a huge difference between what ought to be and what is. people live more these days on theories than practicals.

i seriously will be happy for once u mention what nigerians are surposed to do apart from prayers.

Kobojunkie,
i like ur explainations here though u failed to mention what you think as the solution.
with your knowledge, i know u will provide some solutions here but please when doing that, do not include protest as no one here will get involved because life bullets awaits anyone who tries to do so.
like i did mention earlier, from your write ups, u seem to be away from nigeria for a very long time. may i bring to your notice that obj during his eight years tenure was able to delete two villages and till now no one asked why so do have that at the back of your mind.
remember we lost our justice minister/attorney general of the federation in the hands of assasins in his own house and till now no one was able to trace his killers to remind u about the scurity system here.
since you know much about yar adua, i guess u were aware of the money laundry case against andy uba the then psersonal assistant to obj via presidential jet in the usa of which he was found guilty and fined by a us court but back home our corruption fighting lord(ribadu) called that a civil case.

i do not want us to digress on the matter at hand. nigeria has power supply problems, security problems, educational system is bad, hospitals are not functioning, bad roads, unemployment, our electorial system is very bad, crimes and poor standard of living has become the order of the day. if the above mentioned situations are confirmed to be a problem and are in existance by ur own judgement, how do u think the citizens are responsible against my own belief which preffer to blame our so-called leaders.
nigerians are handicapped as human right is only active on the pages of our news papers hence most of us who have chance can only hide under funny names and say what we want to say despite the fact that no one is interested.
PoliticsRe: I Don't Believe The Problem With Nigeria Is Their Leaders by chidichris(m): 6:17pm On Feb 06, 2009
Actually, if the elections don’t work, it is up to the people to demand a recount/do –over of the election and they demand that they ( the people) be present as the votes are being tallied. So in the end, it is the people. There is really no set way of doing things, if you think about it. The people who happen to be the BOSSES are responsible for ensuring it is done right by those they hire to do the job or they boot them out and find others. That is one of the gains of having a democracy.
Kobojunkie,
from your opinion here, i can say you are and have been very far away from nigeria for a very long time.
do u know the history of yar adua and nigerian presidency? do you know that the inec chairman after the us presidential election had the guts to tell the press that usa has a lot to learn from our electorial system.
if you are in the usa and saying nigerians shld take the blames for the problems here, why is it that americans and not taking the blames for afghan and iraqi war rather than putting the whole blames on bush?

why do u say a particular president is better than the other? in every regime, the president will either take blames or praises.

did anyone praise the americans when clinton was the president? no. everybody was praising clinton.

nigeria has been hijacked by a group and they keep on stepping aside and stepping in. we are blaming these group of rulers who have taking over everything by force
PoliticsRe: I Don't Believe The Problem With Nigeria Is Their Leaders by chidichris(m): 2:13pm On Feb 06, 2009
we started by voting people in with free minds and they failed us. when we resorted to asking for money before we vote, people started saying the leaders are misbahing bcs they paid for our votes. now that obj decided to select them all without our consent, are they doing better.
the balck man's mentality is that the end justifies the means hence every leader wants to get rich not minding what history will offer.
the masses are only responding to treatment.
i think the masses only react to the actions of our leaders.
in the case of bribing lecturers, do u just walk straight to a lecturer and give him bribe? the answer is no. the lecturers who take bribe have their agents through whom you pay in your fees. there are still lecturers who do not take bribe so student will react to that by reading. there lecturers who like sleeping with the female students so the female students will react in the same manners as everybody is trying to survive because the leaders have created a society of survival of the fittest.
if contracts are awarded on merits, do u think a contractor will collect money and dump the contract yet the govt will keep quiet? no way. those in lagos knows the story of oshodi market and most of the roads in lagos.
fashola has sent caterpillars backed by armed mobile policemen on destruction of illegal structures so the masses have no choice than to co-operate.
in those days of idiagbon, men on suites will always be shown on televission holding their hummers urinating at wrong places so when u know that N50 bribe will not set u free, what do u do?
go to abuja where there is law and order, do people behave anyhow like they do in lagos and other cities in nigeria. it is the same masses in abuja yet all they do is to behave like romans when they are in rome.
the leaders are responsible for our problems
PoliticsRe: I Don't Believe The Problem With Nigeria Is Their Leaders by chidichris(m): 10:21am On Feb 06, 2009
power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
if you want to be less bias about the topic, consult your dictionary on the word - LEADER.
if u don't believe that the problem of nigeria is our leaders then reffer me to any country of the world where the leaders are good and their fellowers are bad or reffer me to any country where their leaders and bad and the fellowers are good.
the level of corruption of any country is determined by its officials and not necessarily the citizens.
what the world thinks about any country of this world is based on the leaders.
i would want to take u back to the usa under clinton - good leader good country.
look at zimbabwe under mugabe - bad leader bad country.
what do u do on a clean up day when idiagbon and top govt officials were busy working on a clean up day? what do u do when drivers were forced to eat naira they gave as bribe to officers at check point. tell me what a student will do if N1000 will save him from been in the university for additional 2 years. what will u do if giving N200 will make u go about ur normal business instead of wasting the whole day at the police station while the police claim they re on investigation.
how will a normal person respond to a confirmed fact that every politician is rich in nigeria?
will it be a normal thing for aman to seat down and watch his kids die of hunger while the ill gotten wealth of our politicians provides rich foods for their dogs?
how do u feel staying awake with the sound of listers belonging the a politician arround ur house when the politician can fix electricity for the benefit of all?
well, my arguement here is not to change your belief rather to know the white truth which if tackled proparely will bring the deserved change.
do u know how many people that got employment with that singular move of bringing telecommunictaion to nigeria and nigerians and do u know how many will be employed if the same govt decides to fix power supply?
be rest assured that govt itself knows that the problems of nigeria and nigerians lie in their hands. for all the promises that they never fulfilled, for all the missing funds that they never accounted for, for all the illegal and political killings, for all the electorial malpracticises, for all the illegal importations of firearms, for all money laundries, for every other societal wrongdoings, please let me know where the citizens get involved without the consent of the leaders.
heaven and earth jointly accept the fact that leaders must lead by examples and that is what we have here in nigeria.

obj and ribadu told us that abacha stole all our money and we were only rejoicing about the recovery no minding what to do with the money. el rufai recovered a lot of lands in fct even that of the them senate preasident - pius ayim and we celebrated them so why are not celebrating recovery this time.
it is important that nigerians have the knowledge of the real obj, el rufai and ribadu.
the only obstruction here will be obj because he has refused to back out of politics. all cases link up to him and because of his position, nobody makes a headway where obj is involved.
the particular man through his pdp influence has decided to bring the whole country to a stand still for his personal benefits.

THE Senate on Tuesday adopted a recommendation which asked the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Adamu Aliero, to revoke land allocations made by former Minister of the FCT, Mallam Nasiru el-Rufai, to the farm of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Obasanjo Farms Limited, on the eve of the former president’s departure from office.

The Senate accepted the recommendation of its Joint Committee on Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Housing which recommended that plots of land allocated to former President Obasanjo, which originally belonged to the Universal Basic Education (UBE), be revoked and returned to Inter-projects, which was initially allocated the land.

Also recommended for revocation were 3, 645 plots of lands allocated by el-Rufai, between May 17, 2007 and May 29, 2007. The recommendation was also accepted at the Senate hearing on Tuesday.

While accepting other recommendations, the Senate also stated that all land revocations and allocations made by the former minister in the last 30 days of his tenure as the minister of the FCT should be revisited and reviewed by the present minister.

According to the Chairman of the Committee, Senator Abubakar Sodangi, who presented the report, Mallam el-Rufai, within that time, acted without authority to do so, as “he had become functus officio” because the Federal Executive Council (FEC) had been dissolved by that time.

The Senate also directed the FCT administration to restore all the plots belonging to the Federal Government’s ministries and parastatals agencies which were revoked by the el-Rufai administration.

Also, the Senate directed the FCT administration to restore all the lands revoked by the previous administration on which there were subsisting court orders and all the revocations that contravened the Land Use Decree.

On the findings of the committee, Senator Sodangi said: “That the immediate past minister of the FCT, Mallam el-Rufai, allocated 4, 352 plots in less than 30 days to his exit as minister. That the breakdown of allocation made in the last two weeks of his leaving office shows that he signed out 3,645 plots and on the last day of Obasanjo administration, on 29 May, 2007, the minister signed out 655 plots, even when the cabinet had been dissolved on 16 May, 2007 by the former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

“The committee finds this action to be reckless and without due authority of office. The former Minister of FCTA, Mallam el-Rufai, revoked land allocation without due process as the memorandum which he approved for the revocations was written by persons not authorised by the law, namely, Ezeamaka Cyril and Babatunde Olajide, his personal Assistants.”

PoliticsRe: An Open Letter To Nuhu Ribadu by chidichris(m): 12:56pm On Feb 04, 2009
there will be no end to this arguement if we continue this way. the simplest and unanswered question is, did the so called war against corrution increase or decrease corruption in the 8 years of obj?
please explain your position with refferences.
to me the war succeessfully promoted corruption with the following points.
1. the major criminals during the obj's regime were his close friends and i will mention such names as adedibu, chris uba, andy uba, bode george, borrishade, tony annenih, atiku and odili to mention but a few. among the above mentioned persons, none was seen as corrupt by ribadu and as such they all walked tall till the end of obj's tenure.
2. looking at the states of our roads given the amount mentioned by obj as spent on contracts on these roads couple with the fact that no one till date answering questions on them, am afraid the war on corruption did not get to that sector.
3. power supply which was major part of the campeign promises of obj and the billions of dollars claimed by the best president of our time, ribadu shld have done more on that sector.
4. election - bush the much criticised american president was able to conduct an outstanding election/transition at the end of his tenure but what did we get from obj even with the ribadu screening of candidates? the worst and unimaginable movie in the name of selection.
5. oil sector - nigeria was lucky under obj with oil boom and high price of oil which was capable of changing the ecenomy but the end product was a renewed ottah farm and a bell university.
6. out of office - clinton, bush, mandela and other great politicians will give chance to their various countries after a long day at presidential villa but that was not our case. obj skillfully changed the constitution of pdp to make him the only being living or dead to be the chairman pdp board of trustees and thereby occupy a position through which he decides who does what and when. with the feable man in aso rock, obj indirectly pilots the affairs of the nation after failing in his third term bid.
7. ex-governors - the then gov of imo state in the person of achike udenwa was the first to endorse the third term agenda and today he is a minister of the federal republic of nigeria while the likes of orji uzo kalu who oposed the third term agenda paid the price of experiencing the wrath of ribadu who made us to understand that kalu is the most prominent criminal nigeria has ever seen. among the two outstanding states viz lagos and rivers, ribadu did not find them guilty of anything. odili was told by obj to drop his president ambition or face efcc.

i hope with these few points of mine, i have been able to convince and not to confuse u nairalanders that ribadu's war increased corruption under obj who himself represents corruption.
