Jakumo: That is a juvenile example of the Nile Crocodile, which, over a lifespan reaching 70 years, can attain physical bulk and bone-breaking jaw-strength that is measured in metric tonnes.
The Nile Crocodile, easily identified by the tiger stripes that ring the torso and tail, is a cunning ambush hunter whose devastating exploits during the annual Wildebeest migration across Kenya's Mara River, are regular spectacles shown in Youtube video clips, and on Discovery Channel.
An adult Nile Crocodile, or "Swamp Dog", can subdue and drown a fully grown African Cape Buffalo in a heartbeat, before stashing the dead animal so as to allow for partial decay, before the modern day dragon later returns to feast on his nicely aged prize of BIG bush meat.
In the more remote backwaters of the Niger and Benue rivers in Nigeria, Nile Crocodiles do on occasion make off with, and devour the occupants of canoes, after simply crushing and scuttling the fragile wooden boats with a leisurely opening bite, so as so select the day's meal from among the floundering swimmers. Macabre but nicely written. Love the wit. |

Family › Re: My Wife Says She Is Not Sexually Attracted To Me by chival(f): 4:00pm On Sep 29, 2019 |
NwaAmaikpe:

Which lady born of a woman who has tasted preek and even sexchatted will not want to gobble up preek after not eating it for 1year?
Are you just naive or did your mom accidentally drop you on your head as a baby?
Someone that used to tell you she's horrny no more feels horrny, a lady that used to initiate sexchats isn't keen anymore.
Someone that would yearn for you is warning you forehand that she may not want your VitaminD if you come?
She's full all of a sudden and you think she's full of the holy spirit.
That woman has been getting the best sex in the world...either from a man or even from a woman and that is even easier. But I blame you for keeping her for so long without sex forgetting that water must find it's level.
If she doesn't want sex from you anymore it could be out of love. I think she's contracted a killer disease and doesn't want you to catch it or the rather obvious fact that she's found love elsewhere.
Thank me later. Bros for all your touted popularity, this post is quite unenlightened but hey you are a guy and even though guys claim to know a lot about women, they actually know next to nada. There's a possibility the woman in question is cheating but there's also the chance that she is just going through emotional and/or other problems that have affected her libido adversely. This I know from experience. Sex for women is not just a physical activity. Emotional and mental health are very important for a woman's sex life. Women sometimes also go through a phase in their mid-life when their libido takes a plunge. OP, I'll advise that you talk to your wife to find out what is really going on. If you are sure you have a good woman, then be patient, be supportive and you'll both come through this fine. As an addendum, nairaland is slowly becoming a dangerous place especially for people who are married. Every issue is met with accusations of infidelity. I shudder when I think of how many marriages may have been wrecked by some careless comments thrown out here. |

I can understand the fears associated with people from that region. Most Igbo people avoid having dealings with people from Mbaise, especially in the area of marriage.
That said, I understand that an entire clan/people cannot be all bad. Generalizations are dangerous. The girl's parents should give the man in question the benefit of doubt, provided he and his people really love and accept the girl. It's important the guy's family love a and accepts the girl because these kinds of issues are usually hinged on extended family drama. |

Ladylite: Why not LIE that you got a job, and come to where your sisters are at, why not lie with proof of employment and escape. Inbox me, I can help Don't ever lie. It is deplorable. If you need to stand up to your parents, do so in a polite but firm way. However, I don't think serious minded young men will be put off by the fact that you still live with your parents. I met my husband while living in my parents home and got married from there. Persevere, the right man will come and when he does, he won't let flimsy reasons stand in his way. |

Christianity Etc › Re: The Secret Truth About Witchcraft That Everyone Should Know by chival(f): 10:11am On Sep 22, 2019 |
paxonel: There is nothing like witchcraft or juju. No one is responsible for anyones failures Exactly. People don't realise how powerful thought and belief are. Believe a thing and it actually manifests. Say no fearlessly and you win. I'll cite an example. Many years ago, there was this idol in the middle of the road in my mum's village. The law then was that every woman must show her naakedness to that idol while passing that road. Any woman who did not do this would lose her sanity and go raving mad. So whenever women got to the idol, they would lift their skirts or wrappers. Now, my grandma was a staunch Christian. She was also stubborn and a renegade of sorts. She moved from a town to the village at some point and created quite a spectacle by refusing to lift her wrapper in front of the idol. Villagers would gather whenever they knew she was going down this road just to watch her defy their idol. Weeks passed and grandma remained sane. One of the village women decided to follow in her footsteps and defy the idol. She lost her sanity the very next day. What's the lesson in this? She still had an innate belief in the so called power of the idol. Belief brings to one only the results of one's belief - Mary Baker Eddy. |

Family › Re: Is My Child An Ogbanje Or Witch?? by chival(f): 10:58pm On Sep 21, 2019 |
NGRsenate: Busy body neighbors that will not mind their business.
Did you tell the neighbor to carry you to the same restaurant so you can confirm from people there, you just swallowed what your neighbors tell you hook, line and sinker.
What if the neighborhood kids have been bullying your daughter? I’m sure you did not find out, you just swallow what they tell you hook, line and sinker.
What if the real mischievous child is not even the girl? Have you observed your other kids?
See as you run dey call your pikin ogbanje. The goal of the so called ogbanje is to kill you. If she was one, you would have died at childbirth or the child would have died by now.
Nigerian parents and their gullibility. Everything neighbor tell you, you chop.
If you gave birth to a child as smart as that then you have the capability of being smart yourself, I suggest you employ smart tactics to observe and monitor your child. I’ll suggest you start with discreet baby cams around the house.
If you find something disturbing, I trust you’ll know how to proceed from there. She should not have called her daughter an ogbanje. That was totally wrong and counterproductive. That said, the child's actions are very bothersome and quite frankly abnormal. You cannot excuse her actions by blaming the neighbours. They point to a very deep seated problem that needs to be unmasked very fast. I think the girl needs a child psychologist, and the mother needs to pray hard as well. I sympathise with the mum as I also have a daughter in that age bracket. Again OP please mind the kind of beliefs you entertain. The mind is powerful. Your beliefs conscious or unconscious shape your person and your experience. Toss out this ogbanje/evil/prophet/diabolical brouhaha. Don't label your daughter and don't allow others label her. Thoughts are actually powerful. Again, I speak from experience. Stay positive and trust God. |

OgogoroFreak: You don't get the point probably cos you don't think deep. Let me break it down for you..
The onus is on the company to employ a qualified staff if they can't do it properly, then they outsource the employment to a more qualified body.
Your interview should be able to select the best person for the job if not, your interview is not good enough. But you must pay who ever you employ. My point exactly. |
Career › Re: My Boss Asked Security To Throw Me Out Because I Asked For My Money by chival(f): 2:53pm On Sep 21, 2019 |
The OP's written English is apparently bad. However, I think most people here are getting things mixed up. The poster may be incompetent and may have been fired for reasons that are her fault. That does not change the fact that she deserves to get paid. Whatever terms were stipulated in her employment letter should be honoured.
Again, those asking her to forfeit the owed wages are in error as well. It is that sort of thinking that makes some employers treat employees badly and with impunity, because they know the average Nigerian is too cowardly and lazy to seek redress. |

generationz: For every succesful wizkid there are hundreds who will never smell the limelight.
Music business is like being a contractor.
If one song is a hit it changes your life. If not, you put so much in and get nothing out. I think Oritsefemi had his first hit when he was in his 30's.
That's why it is good for an entertainer to be multi talented.
Imagine if Bright Opkocha aka Basketmouth had remained a rapper?
Or Robert Downey Jr. had kept on trying to push his singing career?
Or Mark Whalberg had continued with his crappy rap music?
Or is it Dwayne Johnson I'll mention?
Diversification is key people. Dwayne Johnson was terrible! His music will give you a headache. |

No pay, no chores mummy. Soon children will form their own labour union complete with strikes and sit at homes. I was not paid to do chores and my kids aren't getting paid to do chores now. It is their responsibility to pitch in with the chores since they live in the house rent free The old way is still fine by me, thank you. |
