Hermaphrodites and transgenders are two different things.

Hermaphrodites are the ones born with both sexual characteristics.

Transgenders are simply people who identify themselves as the opposite gender. For example a man born as fully male identifies himself as female or claims he is female hence he TRANSitions his GENDER into female.

The transgenders in this story are men born as biological males that claimed they are actually females because they feel like females. The are not the same as Hermaphrodites.
