AyeeIdris: The funny thing is, as near as 2012, when i left practice, our court system is overwhelmed by plenty divorce matters. People are no longer staying in abusive marriages. who wan die young? But there is a lot of nonsense cases. I remember one case where the husband and wife got into a heated argument because the husband wanted to give their two year old daughter viju milk at 9 p.m. It turned into a physical fight and then the next day, the wife's brother went to the man's church to embarrass him. So they were filing for divorce.
I can never forget that day. As she was narrating, i was just looking at her. In my mind, i wanted to slap her with my pen. I was like 'Choi. Aisha!!!! see your life! Five year of School. One year in Law school. Two Years for Masters. And you are here discussing viju milk". The un serious couple settled during the family conference |

babygirlfl: You have done a great job. In this section, women have been scared by people telling them that women in Nigeria don't get anything after divorce. I am glad it's not the case and I think more women should be made aware of this.
Most of us don't support anybody who wants to reap where they did not sow. What we want is that women who have worked and built with their husband be well settled. @bold blasphemy. How dare you? Even if she's been employed from the day one of the marriage and they've been married for 15 yrs, built houses together and acquired property together. She should be thrown out. Asking for anything else is unfair. That's how the west favors women against men. Giving them 50 percent of 'the man's' wealth. |

It's not a single moms thing. Even a step mom can get direspected by her husband's kids and any attempt to discipline them will be termed wickedness. One mistake and all their good deeds will be forgotten. I feel being a step parent is most times a thankless job because those kids miss their real parent and don't appreciate what other people do for them as much as they would if their own parents did it. That's why everyone considers their mothers and fathers to be saints but don't see others that way. Nitefury: One of the reasons I don't fancy single moms.. It's either the child(ren) have no regard for you no matter the effort(s) you put into their lives or you constantly have to deal with the biological dad or his people.
After spending over 40grand (about N8m) seeing her through college, getting her a car and about to spend another $40k for her wedding, he couldn't invite 20 of his own friends. Who on this earth really have or know 250 persons there'll want to attend their wedding?
To say mother and daughter still didn't see anything wrong. SMH. Make the real papa foot the wedding bills na.. |

For once I'm behind you. coogar: he should continue with the marriage & he must make sure the relationship is symbiotic instead of the parasitic relationship your friend seems to be having. your friend should go back to the tactics board......
he's a man & he should be proud that he can provide for his wife & family. since the woman isn't bringing any bacon home at all, she must contribute in the form of domestic service.
washing, cooking, ironing, etc must be the exclusive preserve of the wife. illness or tiredness isn't an excuse. she must be available at all times to contribute her quota to the family. |

Poor kid. And the worst part is that this child won't get justice. After discussing it on NL, that one will end only for another one to happen tomorrow. No structures in place to cater for kids like this. How heartbreaking. |

If you haven't confronted him about what you found out, how will you spring up the issue of divorce? They no dey do surprise divorce o. Each person has to know the marriage has come to a point of no return before it gets to divorce.
First things first. Bring the matter to the table.
Goodluck and protect yourself against STDs meanwhile. Just in case you guys do some rounds while you're pretending to be calm and plotting a divorce while he thinks you guys are good. |

Family › Re: Beef The Other Woman? - What Not To Do! by cococandy(f): 12:23am On Nov 01, 2015 |
Before we agree to disagree ( as we will) Let me clear that I'm not literally comparing a husband to an object. I do know that only one willing to be snatched can be snatched. So the blame is one him. As far as that marriage goes, he's to blame. That example was to show you the wrongness of the belief that oneself always come first even when it comes to thing that belong to others. And that is for the consumption of the sidegirl. She should be able think about what she's doing. If she can't find anything wrong with that on her own end, then she's morally bankrupt. Mindfulness: Your husband belongs to you for as long as he decides to and can't be compared to an object that does not enjoy the human rights that are called free will and liberty.
If I choose to - and anyone who puts him or herself first has my support. We should do it much more often.
My well-being is more important to me than anyone else's. Am I selfish? YES! |
