Greatidonis: Lovely idea but all of this seem too extreme please. Tubal ligation is extreme for her. Vasectomy is minor for you. Takes 20-30 mins. And is 100% safe. You can reverse if you change your mind within 5 years to try for another kid. Stop making excuses, get off the internet and go get birth control !!! |

Get a vasectomy. 100% safe Greatidonis: My dear Nairaland family, i will make this as simple as possible. My wife is very fertile and we had 3 kids in the first 3 years of our marriage. We do not need any child again but the problem now is no matter what we do she keeps missing her period almost every month and this has been going on for almost 3 years plus now, We had implanon (which is a hormone-releasing birth control implant for use by women to prevent pregnancy for up to 3 years). this stuff costs over 400k for the implant oh, it gave us relieve for about a year but after then she started having the serious side effects and we had to remove it. We have tried different herbs and medicine they all fail just after awhile and she keeps taking in. She is a very beautiful lady even after 3 kids with a nice physique (when body touch body for night things go happen) and we enjoy sex on a regular. What can we do to stop this frequent Month to month pregnancy? we are tired of terminating pregnancies and stuffs like that. |

Tell yourself whatever you need to BigBashiru: Ladies do not choose men FOR MARRIAGE, men choose women for marriage simply because most women are liabilities and expect the man to "be a man" and take care of family expenses. Also the woman is invited by the man to live in his house and not in the woman's house.
A woman can only choose a man for marriage if household expenses are shared on a 50%-50% basis.
And after a woman chooses a man for marriage, the man is still free to have his flings if he wants.... he has more staying power on the dating market. |

@ bold, Yes, if that’s what you want, it’s perfectly valid. We are on the same page actually. To want marriage for the purpose of building a family with someone you like (at the very least) or love is a good want. But marriage strictly for procreation only (in my opinion) is not ideal. Because that means anyone who can sexually reproduce would qualify as a partner and that’s not the case. That’s where I’m coming from. . brightfuture24: I AGREE with everything you've said, though I have some reservations with the angle of number 1.
Kids may not be the sole purpose of marriage, but you have to agree they are a major one. I want to get married to anybody I find as the love of my life because I want to be with him, but then I also want to be a mother and build a family, as much as I want that companionship. Many people have their brains wired to see marriage as 70% kids and 30% hubby-wife-love. The more romantic ones try to make the numbers 50-50. And there are those who don't want kids at all and just want to live and love their partners, and that is so perfectly okay.
So I think kids it's a solid enough reason to want to get hitched quite early. Not that it's the only thing you're going there to do, but it's part of it and it's best to start early. |

brightfuture24: FACTS ON FACTS.
But Aunty Coco, based on this biological clock thing, menopause is posited to start at 45 upwards, but gynaecologists usually say that the best childbearing range is 22-35. As in, from 35, all your pregnancies are regarded as geriatric and high-risk. And then female bodies are so dynamic that fertility and vitality periods differ greatly for everyone.
The odds are so unfairly stacked against women because if it wasn't for these numbers, I wouldn't even be considering getting hitched anything below 30. Women need to grow and mature too, not rushing into marriage at 24/25 to avoid "time passing"...
Nature no try at all abeg.
Aunty Ishilove na you share this post wey make me see am. Come and weigh in here o. 1) In my opinion, not everyone has to have kids. If people get married to whoever they want to be with, then kids are a bonus. Not the sole purpose of marriage. 2) while 25 and below is young to get married, maturity varies by the individual. I did get married at a younger age than that and I don’t think I rushed it. It just happened at what I considered appropriate for me at the time. I would consider a woman who gets married at 30+ as also very appropriately timed for marriage. It just depends on how it fits into their life at that time. 3) if you think about it, a lot of women do give birth to the majority of their kids in their 30s. Maybe the first or second might be in their 20s but if they have more, it usually tends to be in their 30s. So I’d advice ladies to not despair and choose the wrong man because of what it considered late or early or on time. You can certainly grow and mature and pick a partner from the multiple choices you have whenever you feel ready. My angst is with these guys who often speak out of both sides of their mouth. One minute they are calling unmarried ladies unprintable names, the next minute they are acting surprised that young ladies are desperate to get married. My dear, I can’t with them. |

Prettychild: Women rush to get married because of their biological clock. That’s why you see ladies marry who is ready and not who they love cos sometimes, who they truly love is not ready to settle down They rush to marry mainly because it’s men like OP who still mock them for not being married before 30. While Biological clock may be an issue, a 30+ lady can have any amount of children she wants. It’s men who shame them for not being married And then turn around to wonder why they are in rush to marry. |

After waiting for you to see how ideal y’all are , you’ll fix your mouth to call her old and inadequate. And act like you’re doing her a favor. Na women wey mumu dey listen to guys like you. I’d advice any lady to go with what benefits them and ignore guys like y’all. Moreign001: Exactly bro, that's what she said this night, parental pressure and he must be from our state. But I'm fine, relaxed and calm. I feel bad for my self because I lost a wonderful woman, but I'm sincerely happy for her. I won't cut her off communications, I will stand by her, support her whenever. One thing I understand about love is this. If you genuinely love someone, their happiness should be your first priority. Allow them to do what makes them happy, and still love them regardless. She the one who's leaving, she's the one who's crying, she's the one pleading that I shouldn't leave her. She even pleaded that I shouldn't delete her pictures because I told her I'm about doing that so that the memories won't be there always. She was crying all through, she loves me so much and she's decided not to do anything with the guy until everything is done.
Yes, I had intention of marrying her, she knew. She is not a cheat, she's a very good girl and I respect her. The main reason why I brought up this post was because lots of girls are after marriage without having nothing to offer. I personally asked what's her plans after school, and she said she will open a shop (Food items) until after her master programs. I was ready and willing to support her.
I told her to hold on until we're done with our Nysc which should be next year by God's grace.
And those asking why I didn't marry or engage her... Even if I had billions in my account, I still wouldn't have married until I'm done with my Nysc. You don't rush it, we were students for 4years and that's our love duration, we needed at least some time outside school to see how ideal we were.
And to some persons saying she doesn't have time... I pleaded for just one more year, for our Nysc.. Don't encourage people to rush into marriage because of age, she just met this guy, they don't know and haven't tolerate themselves. This is one of the major reasons why marriage keep failing because it can lead to trust issues, violence and others. I understood her very well, she's a very jealous individual, and I can tell you that the new guy doesn't know this and probably doesn't want a woman who is loaded with jealousy. But it's fine, many read to criticize, not to understand and learn. I thank you. |

pocohantas: I don’t believe in any joint whatsoever. His money is his money and my money is mine. A joint account can be created for family expenses, in which both parties would remit a fraction of their individual income. Whoever earns more would do more. If I need help like the man in this story, he can come through. Acts of goodwill can also be done by both parties. Besides that, he should hold his money so I get peace of mind. That’s fine. not a bad arrangement based on how our society views marital roles and who’s supposed to do what. It’s actually more than appropriate. Maybe even generous on the woman’s part. Until these guys are really ready for 50/50 they speak of. My post is based on an ideal situation |

CHoccolaTE: Honestly, very selfish and entitled people.
Then the idiot will become a millionaire with the money his wife supported him with and still start sleeping around and cheating on her in the name of natural polygamousness.
Imagine what Cubana chief priest said the other day, that it is normal for men to cheat on their wives as long as he keeps the side chick away from his wife. This is how almost all men in Nigeria reason. Imagine financially supporting an entitled turd that thinks cheating in you is normal. Rubbish Yup I thought of that point too. They believe they are religiously or culturally entitled to more than one woman. What woman wants to fund a man who will use her money to give to other women? May even be bold enough to marry another wife and bring to the house the first wife is contributing financially to? When they understand that their behavior and approach to marriage roles is the reason why their wives won’t partner with them, things might start to change for them. |

truthsayer009: You are wrong, even if a man does the whole house chores and doesn't bring in that income there would still be friction. I suggest you start being honest with yourself once in a while.
Leveling up means higher income, doing house chores will only appease your wife for a short period, the initial Joy would fade away in 3 months. If their financial needs are met in that arrangement and the responsibilities are fairly allocated, Why should there be friction? All this telling someone to be honest with themselves Just to avoid admitting that y’all want women who contribute financially while being 100% the home keepers. Women can see through y’all’s bullshiet. That’s the reason for the friction. You want to eat your cakes and have it. Consider telling yourself that truth |

truthsayer009: I use to be pro 50/50 before. I have given up that idea this year. Wahala too much. Why have you given up the idea? And while you’re at it, what kind of 50/50 are you in support of? Because to most guys (not you specifically) 50/50 to them means that the wife plays provider too. Otherwise they consider her to be a burden or a leech. But at the same time, they feel emasculated when expected to do traditional female tasks. That’s where the so called wahala usually creeps in. What woman wants to financially provide for a man who she also has to serve domestically? What’s in that relationship for the woman? And how does one expect it to be free of fracas? When things are fair, expectations are fair. Roles are fairly allocated, it usually causes no problems if both parties are reasonable. The problems arise because people want to hold onto antiquated ideas of gender roles when it suits them but quickly ditch them when it benefits them |

You have money and you can’t use it to help your husband, you will now be disturbing his ears with love.
How do you claim to love someone and not help them in difficult times?
Useless love! First of all, their income should be joint income not a case his money or her money. It should be their money regardless of who earns it. But we are not ready for this conversation because people are stuck on their ways and what gender plays is supposed to play what roles . |

Pierocash: A woman can earn more than man in the Western world and there will still be peace in the marriage.
In Nigeria here, a woman doesn't even need to earn more than the man before their ego begins to play out. Nigeria women believe that once they can be financially independent ,they don't need a man so they start acting rebellious and arrogant.
I tell myself, even if she earns more than me,I won't ask her a dime of her money,I will play my role without looking at her purse. By so doing, I will know if she is a supportive wife,or parasitic one “In the so called west” men are also more hands on with family upkeep. It’s easier to be a wife who contributes financially if the man doesn’t leave all the domestic work for you. EOD!!! Take it to the bank. Nigerian men want women who play the roles of providers with them but will catch fire when they asked to help around in the home. Whack mentality! |
