Prettiepearlz: Nothing infuriates me more than seeing guys type that shit. Like she is a kid that should be bundled home. If they don't want her in their house anymore, simply tell her and she would leave their miserable house and go wherever she wants to go to. It's her life and I feel she should decide where she wants to head to. Actually they don't get to not want her in 'their' house anymore. It's the family house. Belongs to both the man and the woman. The man doesn't get to decide if she leaves or not. |

Lol. Building a house is not a bad idea. banmee: Do you know what scares me most about Nigerians in Nigeria? The confident way they do and say insane things. See the way he said what he said so confidently like it is what normal people should be saying. And they have the nerve to say they want a great country. Is that how people behave in great countries? You can see the mindset in their every day lives. A policeman will stand confidently in public in the middle of traffic in full view of the whole world and demand that you give him bribe like it his/her right. He wouldn't even care if the public was recording his act. A crowd of people will gather together confidently to execute/murder supposed suspects all in the name of "justice". A man/woman would confidently dump refuse in a gutter like it is the normal thing to do without batting an eye. The things they see as normal is just mind boggling. I shudder to think how that place would be in another 10 years. And one id.iot is trying to convince me to build a house and invest in that rotten country. God forbid.

Afam4eva: Stop being emotional about this issue. why not? Nobody is saying that it's right for a man to beat his wife and the actor is not saying that either. not in so many words but y'all are. The point is that it's the woman who gets the physical injury at the end of the day and as such for her to prevent it, she should respect her husband even when there's no need for it. Oh really? Makes a lot of sense . Even if he's a no good loser who disrespects her at every turn or disrespects their vows, she should still respect him to avoid being beaten. In any case the definition of respect here probably means subservience even when detrimental to the woman's wellbeing. Yea now I'm totally convinced that's the right thing to do. Some men are crazy. Some would even beat a woman for no just reason. oh so you know that? Tell me again how your 'respect' BS is going to help a woman married to such a man. If you have a solution, bring it on. I don't know. Maybe start by not blaming the victim? Put the blame where it belongs? Preach reciprocal respect? Raise your sons to be better men? Treat both genders with equality and fairness? Don't propagate notions that support men doing things they won't accept if their wives do it. That way they won't feel 'disrespected' over non-issues. You know, a few common sense approaches that are ridiculously simple only if male ego boosting and selfishness weren't ultimate goal of most 'Nigerian' marriages. |

This is such a belittling statement and I'm disappointed in him and those who support him. Who tells men to respect their wives in order not to get beaten. I swear the rampant sexism most Nigerian men are raised with, has all but robbed them of their common sense. Do you know how many victims of domestic violence walk on egg shells in order not to set the man off yet they still get beaten and sometimes murdered? Do you how many victims dare not even look in the eyes of the men they married so that they don't appear disrespectful yet their abusers find reason in the way they walk, sit or eat to beat them up?
All of you dummies should fvck out of here with your victim blaming retardedd bullshyt posts.
If you haven't been a victim of oppression don't try to mansplain to those who are going through it what to do to avoid it. You guys often think you know best. It's a very disgusting attitude. |

Preach EfemenaXY: The bolded bits of your statement caught my attention.
The missionaries DIDN'T come down to west Africa out of the goodness of their heart. That was a coverup. The real intention was to promote colonialism which was used to practice merchantilism.
See, we all know how the Europeans and Americans benefited massively from the slave trade. Most of the wealth of the financial institutions for example (banking and insurance) were gleaned from the proceeds of slavery. Most of their scientific breakthroughs were funded off the proceeds from slavery.
With industrialisation, there was no need for slavery. Then and only then did they advocate the "abolishment" of the slave trade. But they still needed wealth. Where else could they get it if not from Africa again?
So they came back under the guise of civilisation and turning us "savages" to civil people by attempting to eliminate and destroy our culture. Culture which defines the very essence of who we are as a people, our identity. Don't even get me started on that.
Anyway with colonialism forcefully impacted on us while the British, French, and Dutch tore up Africa with their divide-and-conquer tactics, carting away our natural resources - gold, diamonds (Ghana, Congo, South Africa), cocoa, palm oil, rubber, etc - nothing was given back in return. A few shoddy school and hospitals here and there don't cut it.
Massive exports from common wealth countries, little or no imports in. A one sided trade geared at increasing their wealth whilst imposing policies and rules on us from engaging in beneficial trades (Merchantilism).
Post colonialism after gaining "independence" the next trick up their sleeves was to pretend they'll help us build our infrastructure whilst pushing huge loans with exhorbitant interest rates via the IMF and world bank on us, thereby keeping us forever indebted to them.
Latest trick from them is to promote political instability in wealthy African countries e.g Congo as it benefits them immensely.
These address the bolded part of your post. Now regarding the mass exodus of Nigerian professionals / brain power - that should be a very real concern. Knowledge is power and without knowledge, what are we aside being a nation of jokers?
Couple that with the very stupid African leaders who steak, loot and stash away the county's money in foreign bank accounts. Money that could be used to ensure the country has basic infrastructure in place (good roads, schools, hospitals, constant power supply, etc).
And that's the reason why people who can't deal with it emigrate to greener pastures where basic human needs aren't seen as a luxury. |

He should have told the truth. His story may be true because I've seen elderly people get combative in long term care facilities especially if they have some sort of dementia. My class mate got kicked the other day by a bitter old woman and she still nursing her injuries. Patients really do get nasty sometimes.
If he told the truth initially, he may have only lost his job. Now he's going to jail. Over a woman who was already halfway in the grave anyway. Too bad. |

Makes no sense to me rogovo20: I need to let every1 on here know that the last time we actually had issues with her speaking with her ex was like 5 years ago, she only stated the actual reason of recent as to why she removed her ring, alongside other things she said that the guy talked down on me and made himself look good, though she also stated that he is the kind of guy that does not look at peoples ass. Just finding out more made me feel i should eff the guy up, I detest and despise people like that, I changed her number when she came back from the USA, but she was the one that called him. The issue of her saying she just finished effing a big d.cik caused alot of trouble, I just didnt want a broken home that early with my daughter being just some few months, trust me people, I mad pass how some people seem to take me here. Its just that some Unilag girls ehn, to tame them na war. Another thing I blv is, shes a cheat that normally MIGHT want to stay faithful, but feels if this guy dey cheat, abeg make I go do my own. Another reason why I feel her ex ust have taken advantage is because, when we just met, she talked about how big her ex manhood is, how it took her 3months b4 she could adjust to the size, not that am small sized, but comparing to her description, I would say am far behind, in which no amount of stamina, skills will to her be matched to what she has experienced with him per her own explanation though. So I can imagine, if she thinks am cheating, she might definitely want to go have a taste back. I even bought se.x toys to fill up the differences, not easy for a man to do that, but I just had to do what I have to do. I am 5 years older than her for u people asking. Also I remember during that time we werent having much sex at a time, there was even a time I noticed a minor tear on her anal area, asked her whats the cut about, she said she does not know, and even said herself thereafter that we havent had sex in 2weeks, because I sometimes go through her backdoor. I tire. So what am saying is, her ex issue was wayback, just that she spilled more beans of what happened in the past of recent, why I wanted to Bleep the dude up, something I would have thought about wayback if she had all this spilled b4. |

Smh rogovo20: Anyway, I'll continue. Went to the backyard from our room window, the blind is onesidedly moved so I could see whats going on, to my surprise, my wife was dressing up. First she was wearing her buttlift, something she has not worn in over a year, infact never thought she had it again. The enthusiasm in her dressing gave me chills, like wow, this woman dnt dress up like this when am at home. Next thing, wore her dress and put on her best wig. Started taking photos with her phone and typing bla bla bla. She then stepped out with the kids. Following her with my car at the back , I called and asked what the kids had for dinner, and then asked if she was driving, she said yes, said she wanted to go pick Cway water. Said ok no P. Saw that she parked somewhere and bought the water, then advanced to her friends place very close. I parked to observe, she was at her friends for close to an hour, she drove out and started heading towards home. I followed, 5 mins after she got it, I bursted into the room with surprise, she was about putting off the buttlift, I then asked her, wow, why are u wearing buttlift, she said shes just testing it now, I asked if she wore it out, she swore she didnt, said its weird for u to wear buttlift u said ur not interested in again, she still denided. So I opened up to her that I saw her while she was dressing up to go out, that I didnt like that she lied again, it was part of the deal breaker for the reconcilation I made after she cheated on me, she said if she told me, I might feel she wanted to go and see a guy. So I asked why she wore it since she wanted to go buy water and see her friend not too far away from home, she said she just wanted to test how it is when she remembered she was going to buy water and kukuma wore it out. So I asked if her best wig was also part of the test, she said no, that she didnt want her friends husband to look at her as a old woman with her natural hair. Nlanders, what are your thoughts on this? Because those excuses sounds lame to me. |

Your two comments so far made no dint of sense but just abuses and to make mattes worse you are a big hypocrite advising a lady to allow her man commit adultery for relative peace to reign while coming here to rant and curse an objective reasoning without any intelligent contribution. . may GOD have mercy on your brain and I pity that unfortunate man that will make you a wife...I cant stand dumb ladies |

And your problem is that you don't want him to bring another woman in. that's why you need advice?
Look at it this way. Another woman will share the beatings and rape with you. And sometimes he will hit her with the car instead of you thus sparing you the injury. Both of you can cry together when he's left the house. Another woman might just be what you need.
Since you can take care of yourself financially, what exactly is keeping you there? Someone says those horrible things to you, hits you with his car, beats and rapes you when you're pregnant and your problem is how to keep him to yourself.
I don't know what to say. |
