A party in power still have them and their supporters playing opposition while the country is in turmoil. Whom are they opposing? A nobody? Even if they successfully jail the opposition leaders, they will still take the blame for doing nothing while the country runs aground. The common man understands the difference between comfort and suffering, all these charades impresses no one. The likes of Tinubu, Amaechi and others didn't clear their names before parading about in one political appointment or the other. Even Buhari didn't clear his certificate saga, the basic requirement for contesting, before assuming the Presidential role, and you think you have a point? Abegi

I love Italy, my family took childhood vacations there to Rome. Sheybebaby, your pictures are lovely. I cannot wait for my kids to be a bit older and we start travelling the world . I have Mozambique, Italy, Thailand (Himself is scared though because of the drug issue) and some islands on my radar.

EnlightenedSoul, it's easier as a student to travel. More discounts are offered to students.
Same here. This little ma'am better start walking soon. That's all I need her to do. If she understands the trips or not Na her concern be that. cheesy

I don't knw abt d 1st time cos I wasn't there, I wasn't alive den, all I heard was people's view of how he governed for as short as it was, I'm talkin abt now
Those who do not pay attention to history make the same mistakes over and over again.

History is important. That you weren't born then means nothing. We can't vote hitler in again (if he were alive) because we weren't born the first time he ruled. Would that mean his past misrule means nothing? No it doesn't.

Buhari caused the initial and on-going brain drain happening in Nigeria now. People ran away from the country in droves because of untold hardship. That was when western visa became like gold. These were countries that were beneath Nigeria economically at that time. He went in and things changed. We haven't recovered from that because it has been a downward spiral since then.

The effects of his first misrule are still being felt yet Nigerians voted him in again because they were blinded with hatred for minority tribes.

If I didn't have loved ones in Nigeria, I would say serves them right. But I do. So I won't.

CountDracula:
Unlucky
Buhari isn't incapable, anybody who says he is is just displaying their hatred and anger for how thngs turned out, no government wnts to be known as d worst government of all time, but things are not helpin him, look at d many issues on ground, none of dis issues can be labeled as d fault of d administration 100%, wat can a man do?

Family › Re: Why Do Women Love Living In Denial? by cococandy(f): 5:29pm On Jun 11, 2016
Tell me about it.

It's like for women, you're damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Not long ago, the debate about being a stay at home mom was on. And of course many people agreed that it's not a bad idea if that what works for one's family.

Let's say a single girl decides that's what she wants for herself.-To stay home for a while, raise the kids and take care of the family before venturing into a career. Wouldn't the man's earning power be a factor to consider when choosing a mate? Since he will obviously be doing the providing. Wouldn't it be xtupid to want to be at home and take care of your kids yet marry a man who can't provide for them?

But wait. Oh she's a gold digger for wanting a man who can do that.

Or maybe if she decides otherwise, she's not a good wife for not wanting to sacrifice her career and invest in the kids' young age.
Either way it doesn't matter. we just have to find something she is guilty of.

Will women ever stop being judged? I wonder.

jadelyn007:
We should please stop judging women for making choices and reminding them how they will be single at 41.
Men say they want a light skinned chic, big boobs, big ass, slim, cook, clean, classy and all that shit requirements and we hail them and applaud them. When they find a girl who can't cook or clean we advice them to dump her, what use is she. We do not remind them how they are going to turn 45 single and lonely.

But when a lady says she wants to be Married to someone with a fat bank account, with 6 packs, tall dark and handsome. We become very religious, reminding them of why they shouldn't aim so high and why the average Joe is good enough.

Why is that, I just don't get it huh huh
Someone please explain this to me huh

SMH.

I hope they all went for HIV testing before agreeing to share body fluids like that.

Family › Re: Why Do Women Love Living In Denial? by cococandy(f):
It's only online that men are sole providers and women don't marry struggling guys.

But in real life, poor people are married. And more are getting married every single day. Even if it means coming online to beg for money to help feed their new triplets that the wife just dropped.

In real life wives hustle and husbands hustle and even then the money is still not enough. I wonder where these sole providers are.

In real life men don't want to marry financial leeches. They almost always go after someone who can contribute .

Are we talking about Nigeria or another country?

People should try to be honest for once and stop parroting things they have no proof of.

Just as there are those who will marry for money, there are also those who will marry poor as long as the other person has the potential of being a good spouse.

Such a thinly veiled woman-hating thread. Nairaland would have shut down by now if a lady created this thread to say unnice things about men. They would be evil feminists going on man-hating spree.

Family › Re: How Safe Is Dry Gin(alcohol) To A Nursing/breasting Mother Of A Week's Old Baby? by cococandy(f): 5:13am On Jun 11, 2016
It's not good.
In fact it can harm the baby as alcohol interferes with neuron formation in the brain.
Very unsafe for the rapidly growing brain of an infant. You don't want to deny that baby the chance of being as mentally active as s/he should be.
Avoid. Avoid.

You can pull up scholarly articles about this online to show her if she insists on listening to the 'nurse'.

Thank you smiley. Because of the nature of the plants not being rooted in plenty soil, they get misted with water. You can easily find plastic misting bottles everywhere (N500) as it is used by a lot of people in Nigeria (especially those in the Natural Hair industry).
I think one can also use old body spray bottles that are well cleaned out for that.

Our peppers survived so probably keep it in out of direct sunlight as nurslings. I'm going to try the Spring Onions and Garlic if Himself will not complain. My sis has waterleaf, ugwu and shoko growing nicely. So many people are now growing vegetables, we will soon start doing trade-by-barter instead of going to the market: "i went to the village and got some yams, I will trade you 2 for peppers and dried fish and waterleaf" undecided

That Nigeria has gotten to this point and things may still slide down further...
