I still cannot understand how bandits are attacking an Army base for 5hours and their is no air support! In fact, we should have drones in the air circling around major conflict areas 24/7, such that if bandits are reported, the drones can be there in say 30minutes. If the drones takes out their vehicles from the air, they cannot run, then we send choppers with heavy machine gun to mop them up and finally the troops an emerge for final death. Byaktar drone is like just $5mln. Na $100mln for like 20 drones Nigeria no get?? In fact I hear there is a Chinese one for like $2mln. |

dyera: Spending $1.2b just to build an infrastructure that generates 700 megawatt shows you how much of a criminal Nigerians actually are.
In other countries where there's low level of corruption, $1.2 is enough to build generation, transmission and distribution infrastructure for 1000 megawatt of electricity. Don't be too smart by half! A considerable cost of construction is logistics. Other countries have well established and efficient port, road, rail transport systems which ensure equipment that is imported can get to a site in the hinterland in matter of days. In Nigeria I can imagine the logistics nightmare of getting those turbines from Apapa port to Zungeru. So to just slap cost of same project in US or Germany on Nigeria isn't very smart. |

We should also have purchased 20 of the of the Turkish Bayrakter drones, and which can stay airborne for like 27 hours and carry 4 smart bombs with surveillance cameras.
I'd deploy 5 to the Niger Delta to tackle bunkering and illegal refining sites, 5 to the Gulf of Guinea to tackle pirate attacks on ships. 5 in the North West and 5 in the North East and the remaining 5 on border patrol to counter smugglers.
Each one costs $5mln, so total cost with munitions and training would be maybe $120mln |

It takes Lagos state more than 12 years to complete a fully functional railway terminal whereas Anambra initiated and completed an airport in 8 months which is already operational.

Business › Re: Konfam Becomes Nigeria's Latest Fintech by COMPAQ(m): 7:28am On Oct 24, 2022 |
freechuks05: Konfam, a fintech startup developed by Novalux ideas ltd, A Lagos based company will join the African fintech market as one of the latest solution providers in the Nigerian financial system.
According to one of the Co-founders, Mr Michael Amakeze, the fintech was set up to provide escrow services and act as a payment intermediary between buyers and sellers who over the years are yearning for payment system that gives them equal control and access to their funds during business transactions while stamping out fraud, especially for online transactions.
In a statement released to the public by the Company's Head of Marketing, Mr Peter Ezenwa , the startup aims to among other things build trust between vendors and their customers, boosting business transactions and eliminating fraud in the process.
Part of the statement reads:
"The prominence and traction of the Nigerian online market place came with it a lot of promises. For online vendors, the world became smaller. The reach is unprecedented, with minimal cost. With the increasing internet penetration, smart phone revolution and the widespread adoption of electronic payments, ecommerce in Nigeria is fast taking a pride of place alongside brick and mortar stores within a very short time. However, the massive opportunities it presents also has a tragic flaw-lack of trust. Incidences of fraud are rife. According to ecommerce complaint (@eccnigeria), Instagram shoppers alone lost over N273 million Naira to scammers between April 2020 and September 2021. This is excluding other social media platforms and other online market places.
It is for this reason that the Lagos-based Fintech startup NOVALUX IDEAS LTD developed and launched a revolutionary app and website called Konfam.ng. It is an escrow platform that helps to eliminate fraud and grants equal control of funds to both vendors and buyers, ensuring seamless and satisfactory business transactions.
Konfam helps vendors to increase their sales by bridging the trust gap between vendors and their customers. The motto of Konfam is apt- TRUST BEYOND WORDS. With Konfam, incidences of “what I ordered v what I got” can now be retired permanently. Dubious vendors and customers alike will no longer have their ways as the product is a democratized platform, equipping each of the partners to a business transaction equal access to the funds. In other words, the funds cannot be moved until both parties sign off on the transaction.
Using Konfam for transactions is not just easy but fun. The steps are very simple. With Konfam, you get to create an instant joint (holding) Wema bank account with your business partner. Money is paid into the account from anywhere at any time Upon fulfilling business terms, any of the partners can initiate the withdrawal protocol. The other partner endorses the transaction by inputting an OTP sent to their phone and email. The money drops in the destination account.
It is important to note that as long as that transaction was done using any of the Konfam version (Playstore or Web), the transaction is safe and secure.
The Founders have envisaged circumstances that may lead to conflicts between two partners in some transactions. And so, they have set up a conflict resolution team and a model for resolving conflicts if and when they arise. Konfam.ng is the safest way to transact business. Start today and KONFAM your transactions"
Sponsored Post How many of these Fintechs do we need in Nigeria sef. Quickteller has been operating well for many years already. I can do most of what I need there or on the banks platform. We need solutions to other problems we have, not just payment processing and funds transfer all the time. Let's not keep trying to fix what isn't broken. |

sameks08: probably relocate to village or to the lagoon since you can not crate available or temporary residents for them. failed government If relocating to their village for 2 weeks will save their lives, why not? Do you think governments in California where you have wildfires every year have emergency homes for people to relocate to? Or states in the hurricane belt like Texas, New Orleans and Florida? A few years ago when I was in houston, and a hurricane was threatening to come our way, the government told residents to be prepared to leave of the warning came. We had packed emergency supplies in the boot of the car and made arrangement with my sisters who lives like 3hours North of Houston. US government didn't provide anywhere for me or other residents to relocate to. And in 2017 or so when Katrina hit Houston, people relocated to friends houses, churches, and stadiums etc. Govt did not give them house to relocate to. Though the govt emergency response in US is far, far better than what we have here. So stop these types of comments as though govt does everything for everyone abroad. |

What exactly is the science that backs it up? If parts of Lagos is under sea level, then where are the dykes that are holding the water back? We just like to make silly, unsubstantiated comments in this part of the world to mask our incompetence in dealing with floods. All we need is to keep existing drainages free from refuse at all times. We don't even need n new ones. In some parts of VI, you won't even know that drainage is in some areas. All totally blocked! |

Also 40,000MW can't be wished into the country no matter how emotional we are about it.. It takes time.
Forget about how Egypt got over 20k MW in 4 years. Underground work happened before that 4 years. Just like how this new Lagos Lekki seaport looks like it's happening in Sanwo Olu tenure (in 4 years). Whereas it's origin started more than 16 years ago during Tinubu's tenure.
Development takes time. Agreed that development games time, but it takes unbearable time in Nigeria. China built a bridge 3 times 3rd mainland bridge in like 4 years. |

Can't we reduce it? Because a thing is the cheapest and we should keep increasing it?
You have this slave mentally and I hope you don't pass it on to your children....so they don't go about preaching this same nonsense to other kids ... Which one is slave mentality!! I'm a realist not a sentimentalist. I am constantly thinking how to make more money and invest wisely for the future. Not wishing for things to become cheaper and for Nigeria to go back to how it was in 1975! Those days are gone and ain't coming back. Even in America there is normal gradual inflation, even if its 1%. What $10,000 will buy you in 1975 America, you'll need like $18,000 today!! My father told me long ago that never pray for the price of things to come down, but rather pray that you will always be able to afford it! And that's my mantra. So between the two of us, its clear I'm the one who has something reasonable to pass on to my kids, while you will likely pass on your same poverty mentality!! |
