7 years is more than enough for any reasonable govt to initiate and complete projects.
South Africa once did a 200km road from start to finish in 2 weeks. Lagos-ibadan has spent 9 years now, less than 150km, still incomplete.
Don't bring Lagos into this matter, Ambode completed a number of Fashola's road projects in Alimosho LGA, he also initiated his own projects and would probably have started 4th mainland bridge too, you people hated him for refusing to be a pawn. Exactly what projects did Ambode abandon? Have Sanwo Olu completed them now? I challenge you to state them precisely if you can! In 2 weeks! Guy we ain't daft here. That is impossible!! |

Corruption is the foundational cell on which Nigerians transact business.
Many are currently employed because of a pseudo economy created by corruption.[/quote/]
True that! A lot of the estate construction in Lagos and Abuja is funded with corrupt money. It's why property prices in VI, Oniru, Ikoyi, Lekki make no sense. |

Music/Radio › Streaming Apps No Longer Collecting Naira Cards? by COMPAQ(op): 1:59pm On Aug 17, 2022 |
My YouTube music and Apple music subscriptions ended a few days ago and I noticed that the autopay did not renew the subscription. Both were linked to my Standard Chartered NGN card.
I tried to add my GTB and NGN card but neither of them worked or could even be added to my GooglePay
I know most banks have stopped allowing NGN cards for USD transactions, but since these are priced in Naira I didn't expect them to be impacted.
Has anybody else experienced this and if so any way around? |

onuman: N268m mockery. It's not enough to clean the environment from pollution.
More of the dividends from Anambra oil goes to the north of Nigeria via the excess number of states proliferated in the far north by Arewa soldiers. Pollution from oil processing does not affect the northern region. That's because Anambra produces an inconsequential amount of oil. Like 10k barrels or something like that. In a country that ordinarily does 2mln barrels |

Throwback: More like commissioned by Fashola, but Tinubu's project.
Tinubu did all the concept, road markings, procured the buses.
Tinubu even sponsored the late Saula and his executives of NURTW to go understudy the benefits of the BRT system in Brazil.
Again, Tinubu implemented the BRT but left it for Fashola to commission. What concerns agbero organisation with understudy g anything? Are the the ones implementing brt? Tinubu is the one who foisted the madness of nurtw on lagosians. |

Name one sector of Nigerian society being run by the government that is alive.
Private Universties no dey go strike as you can see. Privatize all universities in this country, it will make University education costly, but you no fit hear of ASUU strike again I wouldn't use the word privatize as that suggests that they should be profit making. But I agree that universities in Nigeria should be self determining. They should set the fees that will require them to attract the best faculty and maintain services and facilities to a high standard. Funny enough though if you give this option to ASUU don't be surprised that they reject it. Seems to me Assu just want to be paid more while remaining under government because it means they are not accountable for increased performance and productivity. |

SmartPolician: Apparently reacting to social media reports that the state received over N300bn from the federal government as its share of 13% oil derivation, the Commissioner insisted that what the state received was N268,232,939.16.
There are lots of shameless and senseless people in this country.
How can someone just type a figure and claim it was Anambra's share in the derivative largesse?
Why do Nigerians love FAKE NEWS? What is more disappointing is that Nigerians don't think. You would think that anyone would know that a single state can never receive 300 billion Naira in 1 month |

Nicepoker: certainly. The only solution is to put all the refineries into full capacity else....... That still does very little for the price of petrol. People assume if our refineries are working petrol will be cheap. In St there a cost to crude oil? Or are you expecting crude oil to be delivered to refineries for free? Don't you know there is an opportunity cost of doing that. The only thing that will be saved is cost of shipping. Depending on how efficient the refinery is, refining cost may even be more here. |

The various reasons given on this post as to why kerosene is more expensive than petrol just shows you how enlightened Nigerians really are!! And these are all people who have gone to Sec school and likely uni as well and will tell you they are very educated!!
The simple answer is that there is no subsidy on kerosene!! |
Politics › Re: Why Is Kerosene More Expensive Than Petrol ? by COMPAQ(m): 1:02pm On Aug 05, 2022 |
SlayerofSatan: There's greater demand for kerosene. There are fewer users of petrol because there are fewer car owners and generator owners, so the demand for it, especially when compared with the demand for kerosene, is relatively low.
Only about 10% of Nigerians use petrol, whereas over 60% use kerosene, mostly for cooking. Really!! Do you know how many cars are moving about daily in Nigeria!! No way kerosene is used more than petrol. For cooking, you can use gas, electricity, firewood, coal etc. |

Youngwiz71: To those who watch the show....
1. After watching the show how do you feel??
2. what are the thoughts that runs through your mind when/after watching it??
if you can answer this questions honestly to yourself then you'll know if the show is good for you or bad for you...
to me it's very bad, I have never watched the show on tv before, I just decided to follow a very little of it(for last season) on Twitter on some pics I was seeing on Twitter on nairaland as well and that has been enough to convince me I need to stay highly and far away from it.... Well said. I only followed season 1 of Big Brother Africa and never again have I followed any big brother. I received sense and asked myself exactly what am I watching? And of what benefit is this to me? And to my use of time? My level of respect will drop dramatically for anyone who follows it. |
