Spacopendragin:Dude it doesn't work anywhere. What works is an efficient economy and competition to hold the price steady or reduce it. Having said that, even with the above if the fundamentals of the market shifts I.e much higher energy costs, it may need to be passed on to consumers. Its all very simple economics. |
Since when is cement price regulated that CPC will say that those selling above N2500 will face wrath of the law? Government is full of stark illiterates. If the END sars caused a back log of supply to many states, it is natural that demand will exceed supply and as any one who studied basic economics will know, the price will rise. As things normalise, the price will also normalise. What govt should do is work towards removing barriers that cause bottlenecks in the supply chain. For eg, if rail were working, this might not have happened. That is why there is a clear link between infrastructure and having an efficient economy. |
The government says it has no money, yet its not for COVID, FG and states would likely have sent Muslim and Christian abroad for pilgrimage. We know that the real pilgrimage FG was interested in sponsoring was the Muslim one. The Christian one was only added after complaints of favouritism. Reality is that both should be cancelled. And if you check properly you will find that there is still budget in 2021 for pilgrimage. |
TheFacelessMan:In fact, that fight is a mini classic. After that fight Ike was lining up for a world title fight before this happened. |
omenka:Honestly, like you I had high hopes for Buhari in his first time. I admit I voted for him, but by the first 2 years, it was apparent I had made a huge mistake. The guy has zero intellect to run a country! The guy is heavily ethnic and religious intolerant! The guys is slow and ineffective! The guy is not in charge of his government! The guy has zero emotional intelligence to feel the pulse of his people. Unfortunately PDP did not do itself any favours by bringing Atiku against Buhari, as many had the opinion that he was tainted by corruption, at least according to Obasanjo. |
I am not sure if the idea that individuals can get power from the plant is correct. Edo state government had better check with NERC first. What I remember is that to but power from a producer, it cannot be less than 1MW or so, and no individual can buy that, except you stay in a fairly large estate and the deal is consummated as an estate. |
Nazgul:Valid point and well said. America is a country that values the intellect. Unfortunately most of our northern politicians don't have academic intellect. All they know how to do is cut deals and display their tribal bigotry. |
boman2014:Army no go near these ones!! Na Buhari pikin. But if it's ENDSars protesters now.....! |
CastedAyo:It would never work, because he would never win. Let's stop kidding ourselves. What I would prefer for Falz, sowore, obi, Kingsley moghalu, fela durotoye and Co is that they contest for senate or house of reps. The path to getting those tickets won't be so difficult and then from there we can access what they are contributing to the political discussion and perhaps from there they can grow in 10 years or so to running for presidency. |
Other than the fact that it's pretty to look at, I don't see much to do there from the pictures the OP posted. |
iwaeda:The police only came to work before to set up roadblocks and harass innocent Nigerians to release N500 for them when papers are not complete, reporting an incident in the police station etc. The SARS and mopol take much more than that. Now that they see that the mood of the people have changed and it will be less easy to do that (at least for now), they are not interested in coming to work. Bottom line, the work they were coming before was for their own benefit and not for the benefit of Nigerians. |
REALretep:This country is a joke. We can't even do simple things right such as knowing how many staff we have, what their individual pay is, and therefore what the total pay is. |
ignis:What is at the expense of Nigerians? MTN provides a service which you pay for. And you pay for it because you enjoy the service. So why this mindset of "at Nigerians expense" Toyota sells in USA, Benz sells in Japan and Ford sells in Germany. Glo operates Benin Republic. Dangote operates in more than 6 African countries. Its called Global trade!! |
iamakbar:The guy should go to the panel and share this testimony. Sharingbit on social media is not enough as it does not help with any due process. The guy should do his ten cents for posterity and make his submission at the judicial panel of enquiry. |
envoymedia:Well perhaps that is the governors karma for roads he did not maintain and discipline for road users that he never bothered to enforce. There is a limit for speed limits, road signage, proper drivers training before license etc |
lalasticlala:The fact that mobs were able to burn down 205 police stations nationwide shows the uselessness of our policing situation. This would have been impossible if our police had been properly funded and equipped. No proper riot gear, no rubber bullets, no pepper spray, no tear gas. Nothing, nada. All police men could do was to run away and leave the police stations behind to be destroyed. |
NEWSREPORT:Where did this concept of painting bridges and kerbs black and white come from? Not sure what aesthetic or value it add. Yet we continue to paint in the manner nationwide as though our lives depend on it. Why not leave it in its natural concrete colour or just whitewash it and place reflector signage on it. |
Lanrelagboi:So for all these decades, no university lecturer has researched to find out to what use this water hyacinth could be put?? Small time now, a researcher will come from MIT and tell us water hyacinth has 100 industrial uses. |
Openbusiness:Simple answer, NO WE DONT!! |
TheRareGem1:Lagos was hardest hit. Shouldn't Sanwo Olu be there as well? |
israelmao:I agree with you. A pity covid didn't bless us by visiting Buhari. |
dre11:Maybe a good idea. So that the youth can handle them. |
MickzyDonald:Don't mind the bastards. It's always someone else's fault, yet they are the ones written executive power to solve problems. This Femi Adeshina is just an idiot. |
ngeneukwuewuGOAT:What about the boy in Yaba that was lying on the floor and shot in cold blood? What about the other video of the guy standing that a bullet hit on the head? Or those killed at Lekki toll gate? Surely all these people had families too. The government is to blame for this anarchy. |
We need an 'O to generate movement in Lagos. Similar to what happened in Kwara for Saraki. If that Radheed Gbadamosi comes out for PDP, he just might have a chance. I actually thought he performed best in the debate anyway. Just that he didn't have a good party. I think its about time we had a change in Lagos. We are being taken for granted. |
They should go set MC Oluomo house on fire too. Time we moved against those who give us no peace! How Lagos is controlled by touts is beyond me. |
Mexzy4sho:Unfortunately, Nigeria is not lacking in fantastic speeches and brilliant visions of the future. What is usually lacking is the will, discipline and commitment to the hard work that will get it done. |
TMSMedia:I do agree with Seun Kuti. We need to fight for the following: #EndPoliceBrutality #EndIncompetentLeadership #EndEducationalDeficiency #EndBadRoads #EndCorruptPoliticians #EndHealthDeficiency #EndNASSCorruption #EndHighCostofGovernance #EndNepotism #EndCorruption and many more The worst of us is ruling the best of us. The average LG Chairman is a tout, because it's mostly those with NURTW connections that become LG Chairmen. How can such people be in government when we have intellectuals and professionals all over the place. What is even worse is that slowly, these people make their way up to State Assembly and Commissioners. Fortunately, we haven't had their type as Governor yet, but that could still happen with MC Oluomo. Nigeria needs the best brains to chart a path forward. Buhari and his government are an apology for the kind of brains we need to get Nigeria moving. Those in NASS are even worse!! |
EBMedia:That' the sort of kindness our Federal and State government cannot show to it's citizens!! |
myBraine:What nonsense scratch did he build Lagos from?? Did we not have Marwa before him who is also acknowledged to have done a good job? Or Lateef Jakande? You are a classic example of what is wrong with this country. How is a governor in a poverty stricken country like Nigeria, who was only comfortable before he became governor, not rich, suddenly ablebto afford a mansion of this nature. What I see in the picture plus the land won't be less than N2bln. |
Gondonu:How exactly? |
protests:I doubt SanwoOlu would have been the one to engage the touts. That would have been most likely done by the NURTW big wigs. |

Seperating the chaff from the wheat. After all, Sowore also contributed in no small measure toward enthroning this shit Nigeria is fighting today.
