[quote author=Gift52 post=96165307]Come and see Inside The N1Billion House In Ikoyi Lagos!! Research shows that this one of the most costliest mansions in Nigeria it has almost everything. watch video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7UZnnPkYqvY Well its not bad, but certainly not worth N1bln in my view. Maybe because its ikoyi. I have seen houses with far better exterior and interior in Pinnock Beach, Victory Park and Ikota Villa. Issues I have with it: Interior layout and design is poor. Lighting fixtures are not modern Dark light switches against light painted wall does not exhude class Kitchen could be better Are those really blue and green LED light fixtures all over the place? Wardrobes are just wood work placed on the floor. Not properly integrated into the wall. Inverter system looks out of place where it is as though its an afterthought. Not sure why someone with a N1bln house is afraid to blow his gen. Doors look poorly done. For N1bln house i might as well have central air con with vents all over the house. Split units all over the place are ugly. Windows are also ugly old school sliding, as opposed to quality, modern casement windows. |
cassidy1996:Absolutely. Its been augmented, upgraded, enhanced. ![]() |
Not surebhow a useless, corrupt and incompetent NASS can effectively ammend the Constitution for the improvement of Nigerian lives. |
kachdviruz:Just to point out that the 'movement' is about ending police brutality, improving quality of governance in Nigeria, demanding accountability of leadership etc. It does not include LOOTING!! |
It seems the NLC has accepted the harsh reality that the Nigerian government is close to broke and can no longer afford subsidy. How can any sane government and people allow N1trn to be spent on subsidy, yet education, health, police, road budget combined is not up to N1trn. Does this make any sense!! ![]() I am yet to see anyone on Nairaland who buys a phone for N50k and is selling it for N40k. Or in the auto section, i am yet to see any Nigerian who is selling 2015 Toyota Camry for N4mln after buying it from US for N5mln! |
Nemere2020:What about the hundreds of thousands of Nigerians that the police have treated like animals in the past ![]() If they do not want to work, they should abandon their posts if their resignations are not accepted. Afterall should a man be forced to do a job he no longer wants to do? |
He shouldn't worry too much. if he makes it in the NBA, women being scared of his height will be the least of his problems. it will now become an issue of 'too many women are chasing me because of my height' |
I hope this refinery will eventually start work. Too often we hear of projects that are '98%' completed, yet they never actually commence operation. Ajaokuta comes to mind. |
also in Abuja
|
Nbotee:This is incorrect! The rail lines executed are dual carriage way.
|
mecussey:It seems you are not aware that solar power is now cheaper than gas powered or coal powered plants. Australia got a 100MW battery system in 100days from Tesla and it has really helped to stabilise their grid. https://interestingengineering.com/tesla-to-construct-humongous-300-megawatt-battery-in-australia?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=article&utm_content=05112020 |
labi1977:Only legacy Ambode has is in Epe, which is his home town. And maybe that airport road. There is not much he did elsewhere. The Oshodi interchange is not working. Onion stadium was not completed. That cultural center in onikan was also not completed. |
CoderX:I think Ambode was the problem of that road. He obviously didn't prioritze it as almost nothing was done on it during his tenure. I don't know why we like to leave half completed projects all over the place. |
[quote author=Lanrelagboi post=96007067] they all say. Why did work have to stop on that road in the first place. That is the bone of contention. Common 50km stretch of road we are struggling to build in 10years. China will do 5000km of road in the same time. It boils down to the simple fact that we are not serious. |
Electricity is not rocket science. If Nigerian government is serious and wants to solve the issues, it will solve them. We can get a Tesla grid size battery system that will act as a back up to stabilise the grid. This battery system will respond to power plant outages within seconds to keep the grid from collapsing. A 1000MW solar plant ,say 2 plants of 500MW each can be operational in 2years if the contract is signed today in serious countries. |
Decryptor:Guy don't tell you don't know that Stallion group has been assembling Kia, Hyundai and Honda in Nigeria for some time now? That why a new Accord from Stallion is about N16mln last I checked in 2019, while Camry which is imported was N26mln as at then. Meanehile in America accord and carry are priced almost the same. |
bamvik:Nah! He has a point. In common residents association there are many cases where the ExCO fail to account for monies contributed. If at small levels as that it is so difficult for znigrrians to manage themselves, what will change at State level. Trust me if Lagos has a budget of N10trln magically tomorrow, we will still see potholes, still see dirty streets and other basic things you would expect we should be able to resolve with 10fold money. We are just poor thinkers and poor managers. |
missimelda01:But not to come and tell the whole world like its an achievement. If I stole meat from the pot when I was young, whats the value of coming to interview to talk about our i. |
uruba23:Many countries abroad don't have dedicated planes for head of state and you are talking about state governor. Doesnt the Queen of England fly British Airways. |
ivolt:Haba! Thousands killed at lekki toll gate? Where are pictures of their bodies on the floor. |
It is not ridiculously out of place. If police nationwide has 50k vehicles and you fuel 8k per week for patrol etc, multiplied by 52weeks, you get about N20bln. In Lagos me that I just drive to work, park and come back in the evening can still use N8k. Police vehicles may move around more during the day. But then again I doubt if police has 50k vehicles nationwide. With more efficiency N10bln should suffice. |
Its a hustle no doubt, but that is nothing for a young boy to be doing? Its not safe for him and other road users. We shouldn't normalise an aberration in Nigeria in the name of hustle or poverty. |
TecM0:Nope! Kwara did same earlier this year and I think Kaduna did same when el rufai became governor. One of the northern states also did so I think. |
Smellymouth:I thought she was a born again Christian? Wetting concern am with Big Brother? |
Story! By next week they will all be back. That's if they ever leave at all. Davido, Pretty Mike, that 5Star shipping guy(come to think of it, not seen that guy on social media since Hushpuppy was arrested), Ned Nwoko and pretty much every 'big man has police at his house. |
Donjuan77:Please provide where it is N1k. |
Based on research 50kg bag is about 6.5 euro which is over N3k. So all those saying cement is N800 where they are should please provide evidence.
|
On Kenya and Tanzania both also equate to about N2k and its actuly Dangote that brought it down from over N3k there.
|
All these are abit cheaper than Nigeria, but reality is we are paying for an inefficient government and infrsateucturally deficient economy. No electricity, no rail to make it easier to transport, area boys demanding money per truck in their community, corruption everywhere in the value chain. |
Cement in Philippines at 192PHP equating to about N1.6k. Note that this is 40kg not 50kg. So equivalent 50kg would be about N2k.
|
Cement is SA, equating to almost N2k
|
https://www.cemnet.com/News/story/166181/ghanaian-cement-prices-rise-for-the-second-time-in-two-months.html Price of cement in Ghana equating to around N2.7k |
