My understanding is that the person will marry a Canadian within the next 2 years
So they are looking for a job to gain experience. Hoping to seek a work permit while they await spousal PR.
ednut1: none of these jobs will typical qualify for a work permit. Any tom dick and harry in Canada can do them. So they wont pass the LMIA hurdle. Tech skills, meat cutter, fabrication, forklift etc are the kind of skills that would get it
The person in question has 4 options to choose from as work.
The aim is to build experience before moving with a. Work permit.
ednut1: what does this even mean Is work permit not for jobs you currently do and the one you get job offer for Or you are saying this person has 4 job offers from all these companies. Something fishy here And only IRCC can know the answer to this.
Which of the following jobs would be better for a work permit application: - bank marketer for a major bank - PA to a CEO of a security company - HIV mobile tester for a HIV clinic - English teacher.

I now think it is better to omit any mention of co-op income.
@uchenation.
Originally, I thought it may make sense to have enough funds set aside and allude to the co-op. The co-op income was not supposed to replace funds. This was in the context that the OP was talking about someone who could massage statement of account or something similar.
Predator188: The bolded will result in refusal under paragraph 220 (a) (b) (c) of IRPA ..applicant must satisfy an officer that they have sufficient funds without working in canada to maintain and accommodate themselves and any family member accompanying them to canada.. Furthermore co op was designed to obtain work experience in canada..
I haven't heard this before but it makes logical sense tbh.
olokings: you see, i may be wrong, but you are not supposed to touch a financial bank statement mostly when you tendering same as evidence. You can quote / reference page, line, etc and give clarification. However, i think using adobe to highlight, comment, or affixt notes in the financial statements invalidates it eligibility. that is walking a super thin line if you ask me. I may be going overboard. But come to think of it, if you can highlight financial statements with adobe app, who says you haven't changed figures there in? The VO may not totally red flag it, but you are causing your submissions to be subjected to more scrutiny and validity checks, which you don't need.
I think that is the reason why MBS are directly transmitted to the embassies. The VOs are trained to review and analyse bank statements, hence simply referencing it in your SOP or LOE is enough to guide them to the transaction you are trying to clarify without altering the financial documents.
I don't think you understood. I'm saying to show more than enough funds for the months to live in Canada as well as the tuition (after the scholarship is factored in). Then, the co-op money could be factored in as an extra, not necessary for life
He seems to be suggesting altering bank statement to show a lot of money, much more than is necessary. Based on the particular case, he has a scholarship, his actual tuition fees are relatively low. The main thing is to show enough funds for living expenses while simultaneously explaining that in fact, he has started studies online.
People have also been refused when they had large POFs but could not prove the source or the reason they were leaving Nigeria despite all that money.
bepositive11: With all due respect, I don't think it's a good idea. 99% of the rejections we've seen thus far are because of insufficient assets and financial situation. If he does what you recommend, he'll get rejected for sure because he's admitting that he's assets are insufficient.
They don't even care about whether he's already studying online. Some people have even finished their course online but still didn't get their study permit.
IRCC may be lenient on applicants from other countries, but definitely not when it comes to Nigerians.
I keep seeing this talk of "altered" bank statements and suddenly I got scared cos I highlighted a FD credit and debit on my father's statement of account to show inflow and outflow of the funds. I didn't alter figures, I simply used Adobe highlighter to color the column in yellow so it can easily be spotted. I couldn't use MBS because it is a Microfinance Bank and they don't have MBS.
Hope this isn't a problem? Also, as at the time I submitted, the funds were fixed, closing balance was low, although with the same bank but would have matured around August 9. I attached the certificates from last year to backup those highlights too.
IRCC gets roughly $100 million a year from govt. This is in addition to ALL the monies generated from all the different application and penalty (if you apply late while in Canada) fees. If you use a fake/modified/altered account statement, they will catch you.
The funds you need are under $10,000 or max $15,000. You already have a scholarship and have started studies online. This shows that education is more important, not moving to Canada. This will also reduce the amount of months you need to prove
You have NOT yet submitted an application. Your application is mostly for the Co-op work permit. You may include co-op earnings (perhaps using 20% higher than min wage as a min reference).
- You need to submit NOW - Explain that since you have started studies online, months in Nigeria should not be counted towards your $1,000 monthly need. - Have enough funds to cover: fees that have not yet been paid, 18 to 24 months of living expenses, explain that your co-op will afford you the opportunity to work for X number of weeks (as specified in your admission letter); explain that this should also be considered a source of funds (using 1.2 x min wage x X weeks). - Go straight with Canada, not the corners my bro.
Uchenation: Thank you so much for your response. It is scanned statement the man wants to alter electronically for me. You said people have used it successfully won’t it be figured as fake by IRCC? Should I do it? that’s my fear as my agent says I will be banned if I submit a fake statement. He further said like you mentioned too that if I don’t have money for POF interest I can have someone pay the money in my account without any interest then I print out my statement immediately and send to him to review if it’s fit to be submitted or not and refund the person’s money. I don’t have anyone for now just my sister who can send 1MILLION to me. He also said if not I can do 2 months POF using “sale of property” as transaction description then print out and send to him. The POF company I got in touch with is asking for 3.5% and just two days ago I stumbled on Naija digital @3-3.4% they said they will do 3.2% for me. My questions actually now are; 1) What do you advice I do? Won’t it be an issue at port of entry if I’m asked to show SOA when I finally get approved? 2) Has anyone successfully used Naija digital for POF please I need vouchers. 3) What do you advice I do. PS: I can’t afford POF for 6months because my savings might finish trying to do that, if push comes to shove I’ll have to go for it.

My apologies for the lengthy timeline. God helped me to package this application without any online/offline Agent. However, I will not fail to appreciate everyone who has contributed in enriching this platform. I promised I would give back to this platform in details (as it used to be back then) when my PPR arrive cos I have learnt a lot here. I earnestly pray that PPR will rain soon upon everyone waiting for it.
If you have that kind of money, use a business or investment pathway for PR directly.
Peace634244: Hi guys .. I’ve been a ghost reader for a while now but please I have a question that has been on my mind for a while now Okay...I’m about to submit my application for Canada study visa but I seem to have a problem with the sponsors account My father is my sponsor and he has a company So we actually planned to use the company account which has over 1billion which is the total Credit balance for six months...but recently I saw a thread on twitter which says we shouldn’t use any company account for our study visa so now I’m confused on what to do should I submit his personal account?... just that the personal account is not huge compared to that one His personal account is 250m total credit balance for 6months So please guys how true is it that I can’t use my fathers company account when he’s the sole signatory to the account and I’m just 19 plus the company will write a letter indicating I’m the CEO’s daughter plus bank’s reference letter will also show that I’m the sponsors daughter
And should i just submit both his company account and his personal account
What are my chances of being given a visa considering financial capability?
You underestimate Obi's pull in the SW & NC. You also underestimate the anti Muslim Muslim ticket in the North and SW.
You assume that northern Christians won't vote as a bloc. Finally, you underestimate Obi and Datti's pull in Kaduna, Kano; as well as Kwankwaso's pull in Kano and Sokoto.
Is the hotel business in need of your attention every day?
You could compare your earnings now (NET) vs IT remote workers and show that to be why you want to switch back.
As this business is also a strong tie to Nigeria, you could show how it will be managed while you study. Your level of involvement, etc.
eddykelechianya: Please I have some questions. I finished my bsc in 2015. I studied information Technology. but right now I have 2 lounges. but I want to go back to my IT sector. will this be a problem please? since my business is different from my undergraduate course.
Please focus on school. I know people try to work but please, if at all possible, get 100% in your classes, talk with ALL your teachers: let them all know your name.
Volunteer with profs or even TAs. A top grade is the best gift you could give yourself.
lolathegenie: LANDING GIST!!! Hey guys, So the drive to the airport last week Friday was pretty stress-free for me, my dad and my brothers followed me. They each carried one of my boxes so they didn't have to bribe anyone at the entrance to enter. We got to the check-in queue for Ethiopia Airlines which was a bit long but we were able to skip it by talking to one of their officials. So within 30 minutes, I was done. Saying goodbye at immigration was the hardest part of the trip since they couldn't follow me any further. I just swallowed my tears and I keep on trying to remind myself that I'll see all of them again. My flight began boarding at around 12:40 and by 2:00 we had taken off. This was my first time traveling alone so I was a bit nervous but I met a very nice lady who was also transiting to Toronto so we stuck together. Finding the boarding gate wasn't hard, but I had to open my carry-on almost 4 times , it is well sha. The second leg was longer (14 hours) but I occupied myself with some movies and shows. (Please try and bring a powerbank don't make the same mistake I did). We sha finally arrived safely on Saturday morning 8 am Toronto time and everyone clapped for the pilot because omo e no easy. I followed the signs to arrivals and filled in the declaration form. They sha led me and a bunch of other people to immigration where we waited for a while before the CBSA agent came. Please obey all their instructions word for word o. He had already printed the study permits so all he did was stamp my passport to show I entered and wished me goodluck! He also liked my name and he apparently graduated from the school I'm going to.
My aunt was waiting for me at the arrivals and we were able to set up my bank account and also get a phone number and plan for me. We also did some shopping as I was to move into my accommodation on Sunday. I've now moved in and I've been attending classes physically now, the only problem is remembering where my classes are
Thank you so much to everyone who answered my questions no matter how silly they seemed. Let me go and read o.
Should s/he put their own job/family/career at risk because of you?
Give the story complete.
Jeff5gold: I have heard so many stories of how Nigerians treat their fellow Nigerians here in Canada, finally the breakfast don reach me. you are in a top position in the organization, you have no sympathy in seeing your fellow country man get fired, thank God my papers are up to date. Nigerians are not united both home and abroad
Could you apply for Express entry or direct engagement as a practical nurse?
That may be a more straightforward (and cheaper) process for you.
If you study/speak french, you could come through Quebec and pay local fees.
Angela2023: Please I need guidance oooo Am about to start my process for September 2023. I studied Biochemistry n graduated 2016,served 2017- 2018. I volunteered at my public health center after which I did auxiliary nurse for 3 years. Now I want to apply for health care administration or public health or even practical nurse please do I v chances of visa approval. Note* my brother is my sponsor and a gift deed from my dad for ties to home country. I ll be happy for u guys guidance n opinion.thanks
The landed properties, business registrations, tax documents, should show strong ties to Nigeria, and elucidate on income. If you yourself are making good income as well, show that.
What are you studying and how could you take that with working in Nigeria? How will studying in Canada help you to earn more money in Nigeria? Are you changing careers? Rebooting a dormant career? Studying to get a Canadian credential for remote work? Explain all.
How young are you? Do you have kids? Are you done having kids? Could your previous earnings be lower than would have been because you were having kids?
Lawlah19: Hello guys! I need help oh! My study visa was denied on the following ground.
-assets and financial situation is insufficient to support the stated purpose of travels. - your current employment situation does not show you’re financially established in your home country - you have limited employment opportunities in your country of residence.
I want to reapply and this time I want to use my mom as sponsorship cause my mom has like 4 landed properties with buildings she use for rentals on it, and also my husband as co sponsorship, cause I’m married, I don’t know if I can do it that way or please any suggestions on how to go about it, but the landed properties has only receipts from way back and one of them has building plans.
And I’m also in fabrics business, I have a shop, but it’s not registered yet, but I pay taxes every year. Please what do you suggest I do? Can I make a strong application with this? I only submitted bank statement and sop in my previous application. Please what documents do you think I can submit or advice I submit? Please guys I need guidance
Therefore, when one is doing it, one has to be fully invested, and working towards the exit plan.
Pearl1910: Can't remember their names now, There are two guys that always motivate each other and wake themselves up at 4.30am to start the hussle , I think both of them have traveled out of the country as we speak. Even if u don't want to do ehailing, whatever u find yourself doing...
My uncle/aunt adopted 3 children including a niece.
The niece has left the house to her first foster family, the others are good children and part of the family.
Your experience is not the norm.
JackDaAlienz: I remember early 2000, my dad was planning to adopt a kid Into our family. Later I found out that my father's friend adopted 2 boys. My uncle warned my dad not yo try it. I even remember going to orphanage with him to see how it goes. For some reason he didn't adopt again.
Fast foward to 20 years later That my father's friend is living in hell, He says those 2 boys he adopted turned out to be into yahoo, drugs, cultisim. They even beat him up and steal his money.
Till today im forever grateful to my uncle for preventing my dad from adoption. Because all the families I know that adopted kids back in the 2000. None of them have peace, they always fighting, quarreling It's a huge mess. This is why i think Adoption is not worth it at all
