EbolaParasite: In no way do i support poor service. I am highlighting a point that at THIS TIME, it is a nationwide problem. If you want 64 page passports, you will get one ASAP. Her specific issue was about the delay in getting the passport. It is unfair to lump all the blame over an issue the high commission has no control over. Of course, i am aware of other service delivery issues the high commission has and i am not supporting them in anyway If this were to be a private business enterprise, I am sure there won't be shortage of any type of booklet. There is no acceptable excuse for booklet shortage. Passport booklets are not given out free, but at a price with good profit margin. |

EbolaParasite: Exactly. She is just creating unnecessary noise. 32 page booklets are scarce. If she wants to pay for the 64 page she will get one ASAP. She no wan spend money. Even in Nigeria, the 32 page is scarce so it's not the embassys fault at this time. She should take her noise to the nigerian immigrarion seevice or whoever is responsible in Abuja. Nigerians that are comfortable with poor service delivery should learn not to complain about others that cannot tolerate it, when they air their opinions. |

MasterofNL: I need some clarifications here, I thought the magun should be put into action if another man apart from the husband should sleep with her.
How come her own husband began to tumble after making love to her?
Yorubas, please come and explain this magun well. 7Alexander: I'm not in support of what the man did, but, isn't the magun supposed to kick in when the woman has extramarital affair.
If yes, then why is she scared? It will affect the first man that has sexual relationship with a woman laced with magun, irrespective of whether he's her husband or not. Equally, she is in great danger (resulting into death) if she does not have sexual relationship within a certain period, in some cases 21 days. Some people could discern people laced with magun which is what happened in this woman's case, and in order to avert death she had to trick her husband to have sexual relationship with her. |

cosade: I thought you're a moderator or am I missing something out? I don't expect a Moderator to be insensitive to others' perspectives on issues. Referring to other NLanders as nitwits because they hold different views is unfortunate.
By the way, this issue was a campaign promise and DT got elected based on that. So why is it difficult for people to understand that, this is the wish of the majority. I am not unaware that Nigerians may be affected as its being speculated but I am also not unaware that DT got elected to serve the interests of Americans. "B4 you blame Trump read this" ********************I still DO NOT understand why there's so much noise about Trump's decision to ban refugees from Muslim countries?? There are '100,000 empty fully air conditioned tents' in Mina- Saudi Arabia capable of housing 3 million people yet Saudi Arabia refuses to take the refugees, who speaks same language, same culture, same tradition, same religion, yet Saudi Arabia feels it's 'a security risks to accept the refugees' but wants the Christian world to do so? I'm trying to understand this thing called 'common sense', how it's been used. Is Saudi Arabia not too wicked for turning it's back against its own? Why blaming the US? Remember it is part of Trump's election promises, yet the Americans voted for him, meaning dats what they want. Germany took over 1 million refugees and Saudi Arabia came up with a proposal of spending billions to build mosques in Germany to cater for the spiritual needs of the migrants, but won't accept them in Saudi Arabia!!!, what kind of ideology is this, and some Christians are debating these issues. Today, Germans are paying the price and defence budget had doubled because of these migrants. "Why cant these Muslims migrate to Muslim countries" and live in peace with their kind and practice sharia to the fullest without issues. Why is Islam always in conflict with Christianity when their are too many other religions. Christians are barred from entering Mecca, yet no issues!!!. Jews don't travel to Saudi Arabia, and some Arab countries yet no issues!!!. In all fairness it's cheaper not to allow these guys in, than spending money monitoring them, because it's difficult to separate a genuine refugee and a terrorist!!!. Muslims need to do internal in house cleansing and reorientation, on all subjects that makes good Muslims suffer because of the activities of those "extremists", by making sure that their Imams do not radicalise young people thru hateful preaching and intolerance. All muslims around the world should come to Western Nigeria and learn the tolerance and civilised Islam, where a Yorubaman is peacefully, and happily living with his Christian wife. There are 1000 and 1million examples where some of the children goes to mosque with their father, while some goes to church with their mother, and to Crown it all, on ILEYA AND CHRISTMAS DAYS, the entire family celebrates together, it looks simple, but not easy because it requires high sense of understanding to co-habit in this form without issues."I want a world where religion unites the world instead of what's going on right now, irrespective of whichever religion anybody is practicing, instead these hates and prejudices are everywhere". - from unknown source. |

Pentagon, Joint Chiefs, Homeland Security were not consulted before emperor baby fists swung into motion, now he has left poo for them to clean up... Frantic efforts are already being made to get waivers for people from these countries acting as spies & translators for them....
In all of this, it speaks loudly that Saudi (Terrorist.com) UAE, Qatar and co haven't been included.... Business/ PROFIT over EVERYTHING ..., Trump really echoes the sentiments held by some peeps...

cutieme: @cirkbutler,thanks for this thread you.opened.Please I have some question:How is living standard there compared to Nigeria? How much can one get a room and parlour self contained apartment there. How can one get a permit for legal stay there? How is business, environment, there and what actually sells, faster there? Finally, how is their women there and can one marry them to obtain citizenship that would enable you get access to.their passport? Thanks. Tanzania is one of the world's poorest economies in terms of per capita income. So don't think you can get jobs, there are no jobs there. If you don't have good capital to start business in that country, then forget it. |

Getbizzzy: ....and how many graduates out of say, 170m Nigerians re earning upto 500k/month?
I bet you they will not be upto 500 people, (I'm talking of graduates of 1-5yrs working experience) not to talk of fresh graduates?
Fresh graduates here, it's a big miracle to start with 150k monthly pay.
Abeg, this is not debatable bro!
Let's not derail the guy's thread joor.
There's no basis for comparison. I am really surprised that so many graduates are finding it difficult to understand a simple hypothesis. It's simple! I said a graduate earning N500,000 monthly in Nigeria is better off than an illegal (graduate) immigrant earning $2,000 monthly in US.
Does that not mean that if you're a graduate earning less than N500,000 monthly in Nigeria then an illegal (graduate) immigrant earning $2,000 monthly in US, is better off? |

cosade: You're either quoting someone else or quoting me wrongly.
My submission was that a graduate earning N500,000 (half of the equivalent of $2,000) monthly, in Nigeria would be better off than a graduate working illegally in US on $2,000 a month. And I still stand by this. ttmacoy: This comparison is mute, how many graduates in Nigeria can earn N500k.
And besides don't forget the $2k a month the guy mentioned was for someone illegal and not a graduate in America with the right papers.
Eg Deloitte in the US starts audit graduates on around $55k per annum and for consulting about $70k. Are you telling me most graduates in Nigeria are better off than that? I am really surprised that so many graduates are finding it difficult to understand a simple hypothesis. It's simple! There's no basis for comparison. I am not debating with you but stating facts! On the issue of salaries, I posted links to credible data yet you disagree. If there is anyone out there thinking of staying illegally in US or Europe, please don't try it. It's not always greener on the other side. They can only work under the table, no bank account. You can't take health insurance, just pray you don't fall sick. What's the point staying in a country that you can't even travel out of. The person is completely cut-off from his family in his home country. Most of you don't know what illegal immigrants go through over there. Many of them are full of regrets and can't come back home because they have nothing to show for their sojourn. It's a different ball game for those who have good status. |
Travel › Re: Yankee: through the eyes of a village boy. by cosade(m): 7:09pm On Jan 24, 2017 |
Getbizzzy: Those linked stats re big time errors that does not represent the reality in Nigeria.
Nigeria is one of the most dangerous and poverty stricken places to live , with stack poverty staring you at your faces at any where you may be.
Common laborers earn 11-20 C$ in Canada per hour while common laborers here takes home 1500-2500 naira per day job---working from 8am to 5pm and they takes that back home to buy a (custard) paint of garri for 1k; how will this laborer survive?
You talk of graduates? How many of them re employed, gainfully? Most graduates here re condemned to doing 50k/month jobs while only very few work in big coys like telecos where they earn 100-200k/month.
I think anyone comparing naija to Yankee or any of these European clans re plain evil. You're either quoting someone else or quoting me wrongly. My submission was that a graduate earning N500,000 (half of the equivalent of $2,000) monthly, in Nigeria would be better off than a graduate working illegally in US on $2,000 a month. What private company in Naija that re bigger than coys like Glo, MTN, and the likes where graduates re earning less than 150k after over 3-4 yrs of working as engrs?
Your stats re grossly erroneous. I didn't invent the information stated on the two links provided. I don't give information on public fora without providing credible link(s). |
