I would like to open a corporate account with an SME friendly bank. A bank that can provide assistance in the form of loans to businesses with fairly huge turnover or small huge turnover.

My research discovered two banks namely First Bank and Diamond Bank.

Corporate account owners, kindly share your views and state the advantages and disadvantage of both banks as a corporate account holder.

In as much as I agree with you, but you used the wrong analogy (Usain Bolt).

Let me inform you, no matter how much I train be it for 100 years, I will never run as fast as Usain Bolt neither will I be as skillful as Ronaldinho nor Messi.

We all have a talent deposited in us which is different from each other. What you should first tell people to do is to discover their talent before they go on to nurture it but alas you placed the first in the position of the second and the second in first position.

At least revenue would be boosted a bit

The economy dwindled as a result of the fall in oil prices. As Nigeria is a mono-economy, it has thus affected us badly which prompted the CBN to introduce control on foreign exchange.

CBN intentionally hiked interest rates as an incentive to encourage foreign investors to return to the country so as to boost our foreign reserves which has reduced badly.

CBN is aware the economy is dwindling but their main priority at the moment is the boosting of our foreign reserves as we are at the risk of being stopped from trading amongst nations if our foreign reserves drop below a certain threshold.

After our reserves may have risen back to a certain level, they sure will reduce the interest rates back to low levels all in a bid to stimulate the economy ( I believe that will be announced at the next MPC meeting which will be held in October). So relax, they know the right thing to do but Nigeria is currently in a bad state that it will tale a while before we see the results.

Lastly, I subscribe to the idea of relieving the CBN governor of his job.

I pray you don't cry at the end of the day.

This business you want to put your money is not meant for people using their last savings nor school fees nor borrowed money. Its meant for people that have money to waste and won't feel a thing if/when they lose their money.

I repeat, I hope you don't end up crying and coming back here to ask us to donate school fees for you.

What is the value of other inputs, sugar, milk, labour, know-how, additives, marketing, advert, distribution channels that makes it possible to earn the difference. You'd be scared at the huge resources deployed by Mars to earn $ 18 Billion compared to what Cote' Ivoire invested to earn $2.5 Billion. We are too quick to look at the results without pontificating on the work we need to do to reach the goal.

It is a no brainer that adding value to a primary commodity will earning additional revenue but the chain and societal linkage to achieve that is non-existent or grossly inadequate in Africa. Are we better off not having the primary commodity and still not having the expertise to convert raw material to products?
If we go the way of Agro-processing we still need to import all the machines as we lack local capability and still import expatriate to service and maintain the machines with huge capital flight. Eventually the machines breakdown as we make little sales while trying to compete with established markets.

Societies are not grown on emotions but on deliberate and meticulous planning which is still lacking in our current plans for agriculture neither is the crux of the problem addressed in the article.

Government provides the land, Private investors provides the funds and the people get the service. At the end of the day, everybody goes home happy.

Although I asked God for this favour but after checking the list and not finding my name I didn't lose up and wasn't really downcast because I knew other opportunities will still come up.

When the list of successful applicants was released, I searched for my name amongst them but couldn't find it. What happened was that, when looking through the list, I only checked my surname but not my first name. Apparently, the personnel that collated the list left out my surname but instead repeated my first name twice e.g Cutetj Cutetj.

I found that out by searching for my name on the list using the find word option on the webpage (by pressing Ctrl + F) which revealed my surname was omitted and my first name listed in place of my surname.

You have a point.

But you and I know that in a sane country, that guy will have been declared wanted, brought in for questioning and released (if he provides the info the security agencies need or if they can't pin anything on him) but he will be monitored from then on.

Once again you have a point but notwithstanding the military's approach, that guy ought to have been brought in for questioning long ago.

Declaring him wanted and arresting him are two different things.

He's been declared wanted so as to clear up some issues about BH because its obvious he has access to them. That is the way to solve this matter and not let him roam around shielding BH while acting as their courier. At this point, The only way we can solve BH's matter is with force (not force on Salkida but) on the terrorists themselves.

I don't blame people, they don't understand the situation, they assume there is one magic solution that the CBN has refused to use.

True... Many Nigerians are educated illiterates, most are stark illiterates while very few are the ones that are literates.

Can you blame them? No! The country has terribly battered peoples psyche to a point that we cannot reason objectively and logically and hence cannot believe the true pics of things. We hope things get better so that we can all enjoy Nigeria.

Why would companies be in Nigeria and be demanding for Harvard certificates? They should better pack to those places with the Harvard certificates and skills.

You really cannot blame them. The high unemployment rate is the reason as they themselves operate in a very harsh environment.

Why they raise the bar so high (by asking for harvard certificates) is to get the so called best among the rest and most importantly reduce the workload of having to go through 100,000 cvs just for 1 position.

Take for example the Police recruitment exercise earlier in the year where 911,483 people applied for just 10,000 positions. A private employer will not want all that stress thus will increase the requirement hence the request for so called harvard certificates.
