DrWise:Despite him being a great leader, he betrayed people's trust and he should be made to face the music. A great leader should take the glory (as you have given him in your comment) and also take the blame/punishment when things go wrong. |
Almajiri1:Despite me wanting exactly what you want, the President alone cannot change the structure without the National Assembly. It's not as easy as that. Let's keep clamoring for that and soon we shall all have what we want. |
kolnel:Truly they can't be. Also, no one fights the government and wins but this is a very peculiar matter. When a fly perches on your scrotum, i'm sure you will never try to hit the fly hard. You need tact to overcome the issue on hand. That Is what the Govt is doing now. |
chinchum:Patronized them too in the early 2000's. Suprised to learn he's Tee billz dad. The man had made a name like a decade before we even knew his son. Kudos to the man jare. For those that never knew Balogtech, it was equivalent to the Slot Phone company of today when desktop computers were the existing computer devices. |
I think I will like the kind of burantashi this guy uses. The guy is so active. I won't mind some. lol... |
RichDad1:Exactly. I was at the Gtbank today to Use the atm and the queue was longer than usual. While also waiting by the atm, the crowd that trooped in was uncountable. I must confess, either who took the pics is a dullard or is just a blogger looking for cheap traffic to his/her site. |
Ofemmanu1:Shocked to hear that too. |
Osakah24:True. Well, like I said earlier, I wish they are probed one day too. |
Sunnycliff:In as much as I agree with you for these guys to be probed but the list of people mentioned in this piece of news has to do with those that stole Nigeria's money and not Rivers nor Lagos states monies. |
Quakertellicus1:Funny you.... Like demolishing kidnappers property has totally eradicated the south east like you mentioned of kidnapping. For those that don't have properties and those that are totally unknown, how will you get them? Nowhere is safe (north, east, West, south) and will be safe in Nigeria until you reduce poverty, create jobs, improve policing in Nigeria, have an effective surveillance system in Nigeria etc. |
Sexytemi:I beg to disagree with your position. If you're not aware, the punishment for contempt of court orders is imprisonment so the official was right when he said he didn't want to go to jail. Or you think disobedience of court orders carry no penalty just because enforcement of it isn't strict in a jungle like Nigeria? You may be used to the system of Buhari, our politicians and even commoners disobeying court orders but i am not used to it. |
Sexytemi:In a country where we have many confusionists, illiterates on legal matters, dullards, sentimentalists who don't know what is wrong from what is right then you owe them a favour of schooling them. |
Sexytemi:This is not his private nor family matter where he can choose not to explain to anybody if he so wishes. This is an issue that is of great importance to the nation. Moreover the matter is a subject of litigation. He's also a public officer therefore he's expected to explain himself. Furthermore, you saying he doesn't have to explain himself is like standing in front of a judge (which in this case are the citizens of Nigeria) and telling him you don't have to explain the reasons for your actions. I can bet you that the judge will have no choice than to send you to jail. |
basingstoke:There exists nothing like Benin - Abuja Expressway. You described it like the whole route is a straight path which is not. Next time, just say Benin - Auchi express. |
We are estimating repairs on cars and some people that don't own cars and have no business with mechanics are disagreeing with people that frequently visit the mechanic. |
Firefire:Ahn Ahn....... 54.78% of Lagosians which is 13,742,691 people out of 25,087,059. (according to Wikipedia) either hawks or sells something on the street? It seems you just closed your eyes and picked the Stats that just appeared in your brain. |
Almajiri1:139,000,000 on 49 buses will amount to 2,836,735 on each bus. Looking at the pics of the damaged buses, the major damage on them were shattered windscreens & windows, then followed by broken side mirrors, punctured tires which may lead to damaged rims when towing them, broken doors (don't forget the doors are electronic). The bus maker is Yutong, i'm sure that's a Chinese company. Don't forget Nigeria does not make all the damaged parts mentioned above. Also the parts are not from your regular car makers (Toyota etc.). That means an order may need to be placed on these products from China. Factor in custom duties, shipping costs and probably travel costs (tickets, hotel accommodation etc.) of the engineer(s) that will travel to China to place the orders. After considering the costs mentioned above, do you see that the amount quoted by the Governor may be true? |
I can see that the representative of the AGF truly knows his onions. |
mineANDurs:Abeg quit this talk.... Which country do you see their government support this except the sport is done worldwide i.e Olympics If he wants the government to support him, he should engage in a sport that is widely recognized or enrolled in the world's strongest man competition. |
MrALIVE:Already, The government (FG, states and LG) is the highest employer of labour in Nigeria. There is nowhere in the world that Government is the highest employer of labour in the world like in Nigeria. Also our recurrent expenditure is way more than our capital expenditure. Now in the face of dwindling government revenue and governments cant pay their workers, you still suggest that government should employer more shows you don't have an idea of the challenge Nigeria is having. What you should suggest to the government is to create an enabling environment (give low interest loans, reduce taxes, provide constant electricity, tackle insecurity/kidnapping/militancy, fix roads etc.) for businesses to thrive like in developed countries |
Mrjo:Question 1: There is no right nor wrong age to pay tax. A two year old baby whose parent bought a property in is name and now went ahead to rent/lease out the house, if the profit (rent) received on that house goes into the account of the child, that profit (since it's owned by the kid) will be subjected to tax. Likewise if a 99 year old man has a property he rented out and receives rent income on the property, he too will be subjected to tax based on the profit realized on the building. Bottomline is, so far you make money/income/profit you should pay tax notwithstanding your age be it under 18 or over 60/70/80/90. Question 2: So far you make money (profit) from any legitimate business whatsoever, you are required to pay tax. Question 3: There is something called minimum tax. Anybody that makes less than N300,000 in a year will be subjected to 1% minimum tax. And if you earn above that, the maximum they can charge is 24%. Question 4: We have different types of taxes e.g Personal income tax, Company income tax (30%), Capital Gains tax (10%), Value added tax, Education tax (2%), Petroleum Profits tax (85%). Tax calculation is a seriously complicated exercise, I bet you can't do it yourself. You will need to secure the services of a tax practitioner or consultant who will guide you and explain how the Nigerian tax system works. Additional info: So far you make money (profit/income on a legitimate business venture), you must pay tax. Income is classified into two (A.) Earned income e.g profit from business, or salary and wages you receive in the course of you being employed, pension (B.) Unearned income - this is income you made not as a result of the work you physically put in e.g rent income (from renting out your building), dividend ( from the shares of a company you bought), royalty, interest (money you kept in the bank and you were paid for saving it there), director's fee e.t.c I repeat, tax calculation is a complicated matter which requires expertise advice by a professional. |
Of course that is illegal mining going on in your area. I can bet it with you that they have no license to carryout operation on those fields. If they are caught, the government may seize your lands. But op wait, hope it's not in my village in Osun state. I and my cousin are going into the business (legally or illegally) next month when I visit home. |
Tolexander:dude, left to me i wouldn't mind this package as it is therefore she need not change a thing. The belly and boobs is just perfect for me. |
TopsyKrete:Answering the question asked in the topic - Of course it's lawful for the government to ask for your BVN. The BVN is just like the SSN used by citizens of developed countries. It contains data about you. The government can use it to track it's citizens with the info contained on it which is lawful. Answering if its not a scam - That I don't know. What scammers usually ask for is your account number, atm card number and pin but not BVN. Because someone has your BVN doesn't mean they can access your account unlike having your account number and the above listed info. |
safareegurl:And who told you white men can't jump? In football, na them dey jump pass. Checkout Oliver Bierhoff, Oliver Giroud, Andy Caroll, Miroslav Klose..... Those guys can nod anything shaped like a ball into the net. |
I remember that video vividly. Obesere gave her the chance to limelight and she has clung to it since then. Obesere a.k.a Obaadan, Alasakasa, Papa tosibe. I wonder how he came about those names. lol.... |
No where in Nigeria is safe.... And we expect Foreigners to come sightsee all in the name of tourism or Foreigners should come invest in South-South where militancy and cultists reigns or South-West & South-East where kidnapping & armed robbery thrives or the North-Central where fulani herdsmen is decimating them daily or the core North where some crazy dudes can just wake up in the morning, start chanting Allah akbar and go ahead to kill innocent people all in the name of religion. Nigeria is one hell of a place.. |
Puresolutions:And you really think they have to snap the picture of the whole farmland from an helicopter just to entertain you? Don't just sit by your chair to ask for pics on the Internet. Nothing should stop you from visiting the farm in Nassarawa to confirm its existence. |
cckris:45k hectares is not the size of a football pitch o.. Which camera will capture a stretch of 45,000 hectares all at once ![]() |
usmanktg2:That comment was way back in 2012.... 4 years ago!! After buying a car laptop charger in 2015 (3 years after the comment) that I could adjust the voltage from 16v all the way to 20 something, I am now better informed. Thanks.. Although I still stand by my earlier comment that the black boxed charger advertised below the blue one on this thread couldn't be adjusted past 19 nor below 19 as at that time. I used the charger for my personal laptop back then in 2011. The charger was the INEC charger used for Voters Registration during that period and it was specifically designed for those INEC laptops which were all rated 19v. NB: I know 18.5v rated chargers do work with 19v rated devices as experienced with my car laptop charger. I hope I didn't contradict myself? Lol..... |
Halleydavid:I don't think you understand what it means for people to doubt you and your credibility. You are not Jesus nor a spiritual being, so why shouldn't you prove your doubters wrong? |
futurenix:Just to enlighten you. It is Dangote refinery that is only allowed to secure forex at CBN and not Dangote Sugar and Flour. Note the difference. All the same, that the said forex collected by his refinery can be diverted to other areas is highly possible. That is a matter for another day. I believe the importance of Dangote's refinery to the economy will be greater than yours that's why Government/CBN favours it above other companies (They don't have a choice. Dangote is a smart and shrewd businessman). |
