Lilimax:Na property or product... |
ukyeyibio:Laugh catch me.. Lol |
midolian:Everything you wrote got me reeling in laughter but it was the bolded that did the most damage to my ribs. |
Omotayor123:You didn't even bother to ask some logical questions before you concluded they aren't muslims after all. You should ask which neighbourhood they stay. I for one know that in some neighbourhoods in Lagos, you can't just go on the street knocking on peoples gates and sharing sallah meat to them (you and I know some of us are not going to be favourably disposed to receiving food/meat from strangers/neighbours because of religious/security reasons). |
JayJustus:I almost spent half of my allowee eating oasis bakeries cakes n bread back then in Jos. |
@Jethrolite, My business as at when I embarked on those journeys was just at the idea stage hence it was a startup and therefore couldn't have had any cashflow either positive or negative. I think you need to explain further on your definition of financial net and cashflow. As my own understanding of positive cashflow is when the money going in (revenue) is much than the money going out (expenses) which virtually means the same thing as your definition (where you still have some extra left after the cost of doing business). Abi no be so? Also what you meant by financial net is that I have a job (another source of income even if my salary isn't more than 70k of which I spend almost 50% of that on my car and the remaining on bills and help out friends & some unemployed ones after which I have barely nothing for myself. At my age I should be married but I'm afraid of doing that yet as 70k can't conveniently take care of my standards not to talk of a woman especially in this tough time) Again, no be so? Now to the issue of loans to startups ------ I understand your fears with regards to (bad) debt at a time like this we are in a recession and that is why every business enthusiasts needs to be honest with him/herself and be realistic with his/her targets, rework his/her financials because truly, many businesses will end up failing as a result of the present slowdown in business activities. Take for example, Yobe state is planning on going after beneficiaries of its state's YES programme who haven't been repaying their loans according to the terms and agreement. As for me, I don't fear debt so long as my revenue can pay for the business expenses + debts and still have cash to spare and truly, despite the recession I am convinced my business will stay afloat as I am involved in the Services industry precisely Transportation. I come to see you as an upright person and I have to commend you for also being realistic. But I will implore you not to give up on this journey although continue to use your head and bail out if you see your decision is akin to digging a hole for yourself. Don't worry the grace of God will see us past the cohort 2 until we get to achieve our dreams without pain (bad debt). |
basilo101:With how much? When the budget of Texas alone is bigger than the budget of the whole of Nigeria. And despite the revelation above, we still compare America with Nigeria. The truth is there is no basis for comparing as them pass us by far. |
Jethrolite:1.)I was employed in a govt agency and when I wanted to go on these adventures, I requested for casual leave from my annual leave. My circle of colleagues knew me as the 2-3 days leave guy that they got tired of me and never bothered to ask after me when I missed at intervals. I used that strategy (while giving different reasons I had to go on leave e.g visiting my ill father in the village, burial ceremonies of old cousins/aunties/uncles, attending to urgent family matters etc.) until I use up my 21 days I'm entitled to. Although, my travels has drastically reduced (as the process of getting approval for casual leave has become stringent as we are in a "change era" but particularly as I have been able to kickstart my business albeit not yet on the level I would have wanted but thankfully I have made so much progress compared to 2 years ago when I started the journey.2. Start up business idea not existing business idea. 3. Yes we do now. |
shesAgem:In addition to the free knowledge, when we become beneficiaries of the loan package we get to pay @ 9 - 10% unlike conventional interest rates of 24 - 28% and we still expect to be paid 50 - 100k for training? Although I empathize with applicants who have to attend the in-training away from their states of residence but you just have to understand the era of free (government) things has gone forever. As for me, I don't consider anything in life as an entitlement. I believe all the teachings and struggles we have to endure is part of the lessons we need to shape us to become better managers. Since I embarked on this entrepreneurial journey, I have had cause to travel from Lagos - Ondo, Edo, Delta, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa (with my own hard earned money) all in a bid to raise funds for my business and despite my travels, I ended up not being able to raise the funds I needed to Kickstart my business and I wasn't for once disappointed nor angry with myself or these people. I even considered it an adventure needed to toughen me up. Once again, I will implore us not to be discouraged but to endure this struggle to the end. I will travel to any part of Nigeria (using my own funds) notwithstanding the distance provided I have a 60% chance of raising capital for my business which in this case we being selected for BOI-YES we already have a 70% chance of getting what we need to achieve our dreams. |
EzeNri:When I said reimburse, I didn't mean for past deals but for him to bring the extra costs he incurs to the notice of the man so that he can consider placing him on some sort of allowance so as to take care of those costs. In my former place of work, I was a field staff so to say as my duties entailed calling and visiting companies and I was always giving a monthly "transport allowance" (to take care of the calls and company visits) in addition with my salary. |
@ moscobabs, the following sentences highlighted below made me laugh so hard... Even though I see mosquito blood all over the wall 5 inches television Only speed 5 is working This shows they just finished playing wrestling on the bed GO 90 But I accept it because I know she knows more than me Callous creature And the bedsheet was full of blood as if I just disflower a virgin I sleep in my chair and I carry my leg on top table |
The 33% you receive is fair enough. Don't think you are indispensable. The man can replace you (because any other person can do the marketing) and that is the end of your 10k but you can't replace the man (because not everyone can teach). Be contented with your 10k but let him know about the cost your incur in marketing the business so that he can/may reimburse you next time. |
hrykanu231:The only sensible comment I have read on this thread. |
obailala:Ehhhhhhhhhh! Bayelsa will not know peace which will extend to the whole South South region. Please drop the thought because me thinking of it sends shivers down my spine. |
Ebunuzo:hair extension in this period that people can barely feed and have cut cost? In my opinion, investment in luxury items (which human hair is part of it) this year isn't advisable as people have drastically cut down on their wants and have concentrated on their needs e.g food, transportation and basic services. Therefore investment in people's needs (things people cannot do without) as mentioned above is what you should be thinking of going into. You should think of something else and drop this human hair idea for now. |
emalek86:On a serious note, how much did you get it for? I'm interested in buying one too. Kindly reply. |
engineerboat:Are you a boat engineer? |
Hadeyeancah:Dem blow powder for these ones face or dem nack them with juju ni? |
I would like to open a corporate account with an SME friendly bank. A bank that can provide assistance in the form of loans to businesses with fairly huge turnover or small huge turnover. My research discovered two banks namely First Bank and Diamond Bank. Corporate account owners, kindly share your views and state the advantages and disadvantage of both banks as a corporate account holder. Thank you in advance for your advice. |
Jalubarika:And what should we learn from the pic, that because she was Muhammed Ali's daughter she never lost a fight? Even the great Ali himself lost fights! In life you win some and lose some. All you people forming motivational speakers, you forget that your teachings work only in "ideal situations" or when "all things being equal". NB - Pardon me if I seem confrontational. I just wanted to point out to you that the picture has nothing to do with the op's current situation. |
@ naptu2 I'm really mad at you right now. How can you post a "still picture" youtube link. Instead of watching Kanu's goals and other highlights, I just stared at a picture for 7 mins. I'm seriously mad at you wasting my data to download a still picture that ran for 7 mins. |
siraj1402:In as much as I agree with you, but you used the wrong analogy (Usain Bolt). Let me inform you, no matter how much I train be it for 100 years, I will never run as fast as Usain Bolt neither will I be as skillful as Ronaldinho nor Messi. We all have a talent deposited in us which is different from each other. What you should first tell people to do is to discover their talent before they go on to nurture it but alas you placed the first in the position of the second and the second in first position. |
At least revenue would be boosted a bit |
Chukazu:The economy dwindled as a result of the fall in oil prices. As Nigeria is a mono-economy, it has thus affected us badly which prompted the CBN to introduce control on foreign exchange. CBN intentionally hiked interest rates as an incentive to encourage foreign investors to return to the country so as to boost our foreign reserves which has reduced badly. CBN is aware the economy is dwindling but their main priority at the moment is the boosting of our foreign reserves as we are at the risk of being stopped from trading amongst nations if our foreign reserves drop below a certain threshold. After our reserves may have risen back to a certain level, they sure will reduce the interest rates back to low levels all in a bid to stimulate the economy ( I believe that will be announced at the next MPC meeting which will be held in October). So relax, they know the right thing to do but Nigeria is currently in a bad state that it will tale a while before we see the results. Lastly, I subscribe to the idea of relieving the CBN governor of his job. |
I pray you don't cry at the end of the day. This business you want to put your money is not meant for people using their last savings nor school fees nor borrowed money. Its meant for people that have money to waste and won't feel a thing if/when they lose their money. I repeat, I hope you don't end up crying and coming back here to ask us to donate school fees for you. A word is enough for the wise! |
just2endowed:Everything isn't about "Zombies" nor "Wailers". Grow up. |
repogirl:Which people do you say won't dare publish this if they never had their facts? Is it a nameless group of people that we don't know where they are. They should publish their name and their facts and we will start from there. You are the naïve one, believing all you see and hear. I stand for justice and fairness at the same time. Even though you and I may have weakness and may be termed bad by our enemies but that doesn't mean we do all the bad things they claim we do. Have you ever being a victim of false accusation and your whole reputation was at the risk of being dragged in the mud? If you have, ponder on what I have said but if you have never been, then I understand why you are saying what you are saying. |
adwem2003:Dude, there is nothing investigative about this. Investigative Journalism is about getting real facts but this one you support has K-leg. A document with no seal and not on a letterhead is not FACT and therefore will not hold water. Anybody could have printed that letter. In as much as I want Dalung relieved of his duties, facts that are verifiable and undeniable is what we should use in sending him packing. |
49cents:Idoro's class was so boring, I sat at the back throughout those classes. Was surprised to learn he is now a Prof. As for Baba, baba was a very funny man reason being that he was the only that laughed at his own jokes. I also remember Prof. Nwokoma during ECN lectures. Those courses really bashed me! Even though you and I know that our Great Unilag is crap but truth be told, he should not have openly bashed those guys. The rot in our educational system was caused by our government(s) and not by the lecturers. They too work in an harsh environment. |
gbadexy:If truly the guy in the pic is the one they called "J-pron", then they have the wrong guy. |
Ovamboland:Calm down... You and the writer mean the same thing although he seems to be thinking farther than you are doing. |
The Ram is to be shared Not for personal consumption..
but particularly as I have been able to kickstart my business albeit not yet on the level I would have wanted but thankfully I have made so much progress compared to 2 years ago when I started the journey.
