onatisi:I understand your point but you think its as easy as just increasing price without putting something in place? Importation isn't bad in it self but reliance on importation is what is bad, which is the position we find ourselves in. In an ideal situation, your strategy is the way out but Nigeria's situation is not normal. The way you have painted it on paper is sweet but you and I know that putting it in reality is the difficult part. We have just semi-floated a while ago (then we got into a recession. Although that's not the cause of the recession but you and I know it had an impact on it) we should wait for that to bring the desired and expected results and when that has happened we can then move on to the next stage. Once again I agree with you but what I don't agree with you on is the timing. In my opinion, a free float should be carried out say in the next 18 - 24 months depending on how this semi float and the market responds (coupled with ending the recession, less dependency on importation as a result of us starting to produce many things). |
mrvitalis:I disagree. Nigeria is a peculiar country!! If the CBN dare allow a true float, then Nigeria will be doomed and everything will grind to a halt in the short run. Is it now that we still don't produce anything and all we do is import or the speculators who have warehoused dollars waiting to further attack our Naira. Are you aware that Nigerians have almost $20b in their domiciliary accounts? With that amount to play around with, then the naira is going to be totally murdered. Or is it the price of fuel that will shoot so high? Or the terrific spike of inflation beyond levels we have never witnessed before? In as much as your advise is truly the best way out but with how Nigeria is currently, it is going to be the worst way out. We should get out of recession first, start producing something in Nigeria for export, decrease dependence on the dollar then can we now allow the naira to float to heaven or to hell. |
beautiful232:I laugh tire at the bolded. The guy is really a bush man!! |
1goodECONOMIST:if e buy original, Na una go talk say him buy 250 pounds shoe for him 4 year old boy when other 4 year old boys for him state dey where nylon for leg or no wear shoe at all!!!!!! |
@ stormcars, which year is it? |
NurseEze1:There is no official age to start paying tax. I guess you're thinking its 18 and above but its not so. If you earn profit or income then you are liable to pay tax. Take for example, If a 1 year old child whose parents bought a property and registered it in his/her name. If the parents sell the house and make a gain on it, it is expected that the child (since its the kid's name on the property) pays tax. Tax laws doesn't recognise minors. If you make profit, then you definitely must pay tax... As for you, at 26 years old, haven't you worked with an organisation (either private or government) before now?? |
Olowozain:How is J-town? I have missed that city badly! I promise to visit there in the nearest future. @ Jethrolite, come lagos come do your training jare... |
Einl:I'm sure those ones job is to arrest sinners. Since some people are of the opinion that Sambo is a sinner, we should just let catholic cadets handle his case instead of DSS, EFCC and the other agencies you and the other guy mentioned o... |
Igwevalentine:What time of the year did you go to jos? Did you visit Quan Pan or stayed there (note visit and stayed are two different words)? |

snadguy007:LSD is Oshodi Isolo while AGL is AJEROMI IFELODUN. Ajegunle is in Ajeromi Ifelodun. |
Young03:Be deceiving yourself... There were unseen eyes (special agents) watching over him when he was in Nigeria. |
soberdrunk:Na lie!! The behind no even reach B out of the whole BARCELONA... Shine your eyes well, that behind can't attack anything of note. |
When is the next auction, I guess 03/11/2016? |
martineinstein:Lipstick is frowned upon at every point in time. During tithe and offering collection isn't an exception. |
lofty900: Pidggin:Maybe you seem to forget or you're not aware that this is Africa and not North America or Europe. Africa as we all know is a undeveloped/developing place. Even South Africa that you will say is ahead of Nigeria don't have the level of database obtainable in the two mentioned continents. Its not a Nigerian matter, its an African thing. |
otokx:Dem know wetin be website? Even those that manage to know, have they for once visited it in their lives?? |
GoldCircle:CBN policies have always been like that from time immemorial especially since 2005. I can give you good examples. |
I shouldn't drink cold water abi? No problem! But can I use it to drink garri? |
@ hippyseason, Active participation on the platform may also mean that you actually registered on the site, enrolled for the courses and completed them. I believe the only way they can measure our interaction on the comment page is if they key in our names one after the other and do a word search or go through the pages on after the other and pen down the names that commented (I know a software can do that but it makes no sense to actually go through that stress). Hippyseason, please tell our tutors not to put spanner in a wheel of progress. Abeg o................ Lol |
Sent you a mail @ Jethrolite |
@ Jethrolite, I promise you a token (I am serious). Thanks. I tried sending you a mail from nairaland but nairaland says I have sent too many anonymous mails so I should therefore wait. Do locate the last mail I sent to you and extract my email there. Waiting for your mail. |
hippyseason: Jethrolite:As for me, I have never participated on their platform despite AMI saying our interaction on the platform will be a huge deciding factor. I find that impossible to implement. Jethrolite, I want to ask for a favour, kindly help list out all the courses from the first to the last as in the order in which we took the courses. I want to save them in my digital library. |
Miles300:Na only Nigerian politicians dey keep that kind money for house. And me and you know say politicians and judges in Nigeria are 5 n 6. |
Pastor is doing PR stunt |
Holywizard:I hope the rehabilitation facility is not in "the other room?" |
@globa & freeze001, I agree with you that it is now a national matter although I'm not wrong by saying it is a family matter as the said incident happened between a man and wife. I repeat, I agree with your comments. |
Everyone now has an opinion well which we must respect. But each to his/her own. I know Aisha Buhari the one the comment was directed isn't complaining and can't complain because she knew what she was signing up for when she decided to marry a former General in the Nigeria Army (Nigerian military men that are dictorial and only understands go and not come), a far older man than herself, a man from the core north and lastly, a stubborn man as Pres. Buhari which we all know. This case is a family matter between husband and wife and it should be treated as such. It's their cup of tea. |
Built2last:Buhari can't go and meet Tinubu, its Tinubu that has to go and meet Buhari as he's the current Leader/Emperor/Boss/President. I understand Tinubu's distance as well, he too is an Emperor in his own right. As for Buhari, he's messing up politically as he seems to be standing aloof when it comes to his party matters. As the current leader, his party members are asking for his direction but since the start of his government, his body language has indicated nothing hence the different actions from his party members. Less I forget, he has never proven to be an astute politician but only just a military ruler. So far with his inaction and actions, he's on a path of destruction. |
brightballer:Like 230k per hectare. Where can I source seeds from? |
brightballer:Likewise myself. As for me, I have gotten like 4 hectares of land in my village in Osun state. I will be visiting the land and making payments in like two weeks time. |
adewad13:As for you, what do you know too? Ko da ipe iwo na mo nkan nkan loju mi.. |
