By this latest public asset declaration, Seyi Makinde will now probably rank as one of the richest politicians in the land—one who amassed so much wealth before actually assuming public office.
Not even President Buhari and Vice President Osinbajo came any close to Makinde’s numbers when they declared their assets publicly in 2015.
For context, President Muhammadu Buhari said he only had N30million in the bank, 270 cows, 25 sheep, five horses, birds and economic trees, five houses in Kaduna, Daura, Kano and Abuja, a plot of land each in Port Harcourt and Kano; farms, an orchard and some cars.
Buhari had added that his Daura houses were made of “mud.”
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo fared better on the asset declaration stakes.
Osinbajo, a lawyer before his foray into politics, declared that he had a bank balance of about N94m and 900,000 United States Dollars, a four-bedroom residence in Victoria Garden City, Lagos, and a three-bedroom flat on 2, Mosley Road, Ikoyi; two-bedroom flat on Redemption Camp along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and a 2-bedroom mortgaged property in Bedford, England as at May 29, 2015.
On Monday, July 15, 2019, Makinde picked up his asset declaration form from the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB). In this explainer, we unpack the governor’s assets declaration form:
Gov Makinde is actually worth N48billion in assets, companies and cash in the bank.
*The current value of Makinde’s companies stand at N48, 150,736,889 (forty-eight billion, one hundred and fifty million, seven hundred and thirty-six thousand, eight hundred and eighty-nine Naira), with 33, 730,000 units of shares as at May 28, 2019.
*Gov Makinde owns the following companies: Makon Engineering and Technical Services Limited, Energy Traders and Technical Services Limited, Makon Oil and Gas Limited, Makon Group Limited, Makon Construction Limited and Makon Power System Limited.
*All of which tells us that Seyi Makinde has invested in oil and gas, power, construction and engineering—all of this while fighting to be governor of Oyo State.
*Makinde’s four companies have additional assets denominated as loan notes including Makon Engineering and Technical Services Limited (N1.7 billion), Makon Power System Limited (N148.4 million); Makon Oil and Gas Limited (N341 million); Energy Traders and Technical Services Limited (N1.159bn) totalling N3.389 billion.
*Now, wait for this: Makinde has cash at hand and in the bank worth N234,742,296.01, while in dollar terms, SeyiMakinde has cash valued at $30,056.99 as at May 28, 2019.
*Take properties in isolation. We have just been told that the governor is worth N2, 624,800,500 (two billion, six hundred and twenty-four million, eight hundred thousand, five hundred naira in properties, including developed and undeveloped ones.
*Let’s strip it bare to what Makinde’s worth comes to in international currency, shall we. In Dollar terms, the governor also declared property, developed and undeveloped as well as household items valued at $4,400,000 (four million, four hundred thousand dollars only).
*In South African Rands, the governor declared buildings and household items worth four million, four hundred and fifty-seven thousand, five hundred and fifty-four and four South African Rands.
*The houses declared by Seyi Makinde include nine buildings in Nigeria, two in the U.S. and one in South Africa. One of the properties in the U.S. is described as ‘jointly owned’.
*The governor has existing Bonds (Eurobond) worth $3, 793, 500 as well as shares, debentures and other securities valued at N120,500,000 (One hundred and twenty million, five hundred thousand naira).
*To put it mildly, Seyi Makinde is currently richer than most states in Nigeria. Only Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital, makes close to N48billion in a month, for context. Lagos' internally generated revenue stands at about N34billion monthly. Oyo state generates about N4billion in a month. Makinde can actually pay his state and keep the change, if it came to that.

During the date I noticed he has a very hot and quick temper and he listens to gossip a lot so I do tell Gracethat I don't see a future with him but he was too persistent, Grace always had words of encouragement and considering the fact that for some strange reason, it was mainly married men always approach me for a relationship with stories of how they got married to a wrong woman and they are or are almost divorced, dating a single man with no kids was very tempting and I decided to give it a try.
He asked me to tell him everything about me so there are no secrets between us and I did. Apologies were said and received and we continued.
Another time I visited him and we had an argument, he gave me several heavy knocks on my head and I developed a headache and began to insult him which resultedin more heavy knocks. I broke up with him and left. Later my mum called him to ask why he laid his hands on me, he denied it swearing with his life. Said I insulted him and he lost his temper and insulted me back that he's sorry. He began to drop messages everywhere and I eventually gave in.
3rd incident happened on our way back from an event. He saw a message from a colleague he told me to stop doing business with cus he feels the man has his eyes on me which is totally not true. He flared up, stopped the car and was even threatening to beat me up. I came down from his car and stood by the roadside. He came down too and gave me the insult of my life in full public view and glare and told me to enter the car which I refused. I had no money on me and had to beg a stranger for money. By that time he was coming back, he quickly took a picture of both of us and sent it to everybody of how he caught me in the act with my lover on the road. He called me and said that if he must marry me, I must break my business sim card and look for a wife friendly occupation or sit at home.
He later apologised over it. Meanwhile he and my sis don't flow as before as he once called her a prostitute.
I want to call it quits but everyone around me feels it's a mistake and he is saying everything out of anger and if I'm patient enough, he will change completely.
I must admit that he has changed alot since we met but the progress compared to the timeframe and the heat I face everyday is nothing to write home about.

You used the word "spoilt", the extra attention lavished on such children and increased positive interaction with the caregiver may be just enough to push them into higher levels of attainment.
The parents may also trial a different way of raising that child from learning from the ones that didn't work on the previous siblings. Equally a younger child may observe and learn from the errors of his elder siblings

You just earned my undiluted respect with this analysis of yours, like I said in my post, I'm not much into biological science or genetics for that matter, I'm an Engineer and I also happen to be a university lecturer and I have met so many students with varying degrees of intelligence hence I developed an interest in this subject matter.
Your analysis can be said to correct to a point coming from socio-cultural influences and also lending credence to nature vs nuture argument put up by psychologist, but I beg to differ a little bit with you on this, but so I don't argue blindly let me continue my research will get back to you later.
There are more genes of intelligence on the X chromosome than on the Y and this is significant for male children. Intelligence just like any other trait is inherited from the parents. The trait here could actually be the ability to acquire intelligence because environmental factors contribute immensely to intelligence, depends on how you may want to define intelligence.
For instance, if an unintelligent male (XY) crosses a genius female (XX), with each 'donating' one chromosome to their offspring and they have a boy (XY) and a girl (XX). For the boy child (XY), it is certain that the X chromosome is from the mother so he will have more genes of intelligence from the mother. Note, that there are also genes of intelligence on the Y chromosome only significantly lesser than that of the X.
For the girl child (XX), both X chromosomes come from each parent, so she will have theoretically 50:50 share of genes of intelligence from each parent. If she turns out intelligent, it is the mother's X working, if she turns out unintelligent it's the father's full X working, if she's average a hybrid...but the boy would be smarter than his sister in theory.
To test this, look at a family in which the girl child is way smarter than the boy child -with the assumption that they had identical exposure, experiences and desire to learn- You will find that the father is likely to be the more intelligent parent, although even hypothetically, you cannot be close to 70% certainty. But if the boy is way more intelligent than his sister, it is certain that the boy is intelligent because of his mother. The latter is more likely to be observed in real life.
To cut the long story short, If you are an intelligent man don't marry an unintelligent woman for the sake of your unborn male children because they will reason like their mother . The girls will be fine. Also, for a woman that is intelligent, you can sleep rest assured that your children will get equal share of your genes of intelligence even if you decide to marry an ode . If all the children turn out to be unintelligent, don't worry, it's the father's doing . Unintelligent women in contrast, have it real bad compared with unintelligent men for the sake of their children's intelligence.

1.The genes contain every single information about an individual and I also noticed that most times last borns though spoilt, display a higher level of intelligence than their elder siblings, probably because the genes/chromosomes of the parents at a later age have gained more intelligence and wisdom which was also stored in their genes than when they had their first kids.
2.There's also the question of "late bloomers". These guys appear to be totally dumb while growing up only to turn into freaking geniuses say in their mid-twenties, and late thirties. While others highly brillant as kids but grow up to be dumbos.What made their intelligence suddenly spike up or take a downward slide?
