Mr.Uzo:Some of you are misunderstanding the whole thing to mean that candidates from states with high cut-off marks are assumed to be very brilliant while their counterparts from the other states are confirmed dummies which is not the case. What this means is that each state of the federation is allotted a specific number of students in unity schools and while some states have too many of their pupils showing interest in these schools even more than the places allotted them few others like those ones in the core north have very few pupils compared to their places in the same school(s) hence the disparities in the cut-off marks. However is personally feel that federal character should not be applied when it comes to admitting students into our schools because it creates room for laziness which off-course is not good for us academically and otherwise. Students should be given a level playing ground and the best in every one shall come out..... That someone is from the north does automatically make a dummy neither does anyone becomes an instant genius just because hails from the south, every man has the potential of becoming a success academically if given enabling environment. |
LastApostle: It is a joint ticket. They are both voted for at the poll on a party platform.Nobody votes for a vice presidential candidate on a party platform. The Presidential candidate emerges and chose a running mate. |
texaco1:I don't know why several Nigerian who claim to know it all appear to have problem with simple but logical reasonings when it has to do with their interests .... Here is just a political gossip that is yet to be confirmed by any quarter and people are already reaching conclusions and giving credits to some persons as well as giving name(s) to a supposed tactic DIVIDE AND RULE)..... And assuming the story is even true (which is quite unlikely) how is it a plus to PDP and GEJ?.... A party has 23 Governors and felt winning the 2015 election would not be easy ( According Tony Anineh)then 7 out of 23 Governors are said to be planning to break out of the party and it automatically becomes a plus to that party...... Over the year i thought deflection by major political powers like state Governors is(was) a minus to parties but today our 'Nairaland Political Analysts' are telling us something else . Orji Uzor Kalu left PDP before 2007 as a sitting Governor and PDP lost the state, Isa Yaguda left ANPP as a serving before 2011 general election and ANPP lost the state...... Its either many Nigerians are bad political analysts or they are just blind followers that are not making good use of their brains( or both). |
touch4mony: who was the council to pdp in the court when the vadict to stop any action against amechi,so the court will jst hv to hear from one person and give injuctions. the both partys must b in court or the representative b4 action like that should b taken.nawa for the judiciary this dayz money can buy vadict this dayz anyway.you mean Counsel? |
Wale112: why cant Nigerian learn from GHANA ?Learn what from Ghana? |
babyosisi: I believe Benue,Nassarawa and plateau people are being punished for the violence they visited on IgbolandYour view is just too myopic. If the only sin of the middle-belters is that soldiers from the Zone participated in a full-blown civil war like all other regions (Zones) in the country then that is infinitesimal compared to the sins of other regions ... So when are they other regions going to punished for their many crimes that cut across participating in the civil war to kidnapping, arm-robbery, ritual killings, internet scam just to mention but few. |
brownlord: Good news everything working for our good, Kaduna, Nassarawa and Benue, then Kano, meanwhile JTF is helping us with the other 3 stateYou glory in the death of fellow human beings just because of ethnic politics.... Just mind what you wish for other because sooner or later that very thing may befall you. |
Inik: Missleading reportHow is it misleading? If you think the report is not correct, then give us the correct one. |
delors: Months ago, una say na Benue, because of that I purse all my Gboko girl friends commot, now na Rivers! Habi una don dey madt!!!!!!So you don't know the difference between 'pursue' and 'purse'and instead looking for ways to improve yourself grammatically and otherwise you are here making jest of people, when are an object of caricature yourself. |
oshyno: Wow these ACN apologists never seem to amaze me. How can u support this meaningless move by Fashola. By the way is that not tax payers money that hez wasting on an unconstitutional body like NGF. DO u know what it takes to bring in Falana and those SANs to take up ur case. How can u condone illegality simply bcuz is Fashola. SmhHow is it a meaningless move?... People like you that have lost everything that has to do with honesty in you just because of dirty politics are the reasons why our so-called leaders do things with impunity.... The NGF was patterned after the American Governors' forum where we copied our system of Govt from, it was registered with the appropriate bodies which means its not an illegal association. As for you calling Fashola's action illegality, i put it to you that you have you have not the slightest understanding of what illegality means.... Illegality is when a man that lost election goes about portraying himself as the winner.... Illegality is when a President endorses a man with 16 votes ahead of the one with nineteen vote.Illegality is using a purported endorsement done before election as against the out-come of the real election. Fashola trying to use the court to stop Jang from parading himself as the forum's chairman is the legal and noble way of doing things in a civilized society not the malfeasance and depravity that people like you are supporting. You said Fashola is wasting tax payers money by instituting a legal proceeding just because its against your interest, if i may ask, whose money is Jang spending by renting an alternative secretariat and hiring a new administrator for the forum? If 35 state Governors conducted a simple election with its video on net and the out-come of the election is been rubbished what then is the hope of the average Nigerian, that his vote will ever count in that country?...... Its high time we began to be sincere to ourselves . |
Brand_new: What a bad combination.A terribly bad one indeed. |
arcbabe: Dangote should have established most of his businesses and factories earlier on in northern parts of nigerian and this would have gone a long way to tackle poverty, insecurity and almajiris being used by Boko haram as terrorist. Dangote should really concerntrate on investing and working with northern governors to help build the north and develop it. They have a larger number of population and it really baffle me that most shoe shiners, mairuwa, people hawking on the streets 'talaka' and also begging on the streets in different parts of nigeria are mostly from the north. What is dangote and the rest doing to help create employment in their respective states to assist these people? The north also needs to be massively invested into, they have able bodied men and also women willing to work and help their families but there are no jobs available for them. Why do we have the likes of dangote being the richest man in nigeria and also from the north for, when his people are suffering? He should seriously look into it and start investing in the north so people will not remain jobless and this will go a long way in developing northern part of nigerian. There is actually no need for this sermon again because Dangote has already made up his mind to invest in the north. And talking about why he didn't invest all these while, am sure that if Dangote chosen to start his investment majorly from the north rather than the south he wouldn't have reach the level he is (economically) today... I personally feel this is the right time for Dangote to turn to the north, except for the security over there. |
Are you sure its not boko haram that has relocated to Niger? |
gerald09: Really! This creature is actually trying to justify their failures. That system didn't cause unemployment u thieves did. That system didn't cause corruption u thieves did, the system was designed to help teach children about the peace and love of islam d same way with our sunday schools in church. If dis fool believe unemployment is d cause of terrorism as he claims, what have they done to improve that, our old statesmen are all bunch of primitive looters n they lack the basic common sense. I know these corruption didn't start with David Mark but he has shown so signs of tryin to end it. The PIB that has bin in senate for years no gree finish, dis bill according what I read on NL will ensure that Nigerians get jobs from oil products which can help reduce unemployment by 40% or more. But while shell n dem big foreign org r bribing dem fat f*ucks the youths are lookin for an alternative means to survive n David Mark finks with these wickedness dey will find peace. (Peace is a 2 way street) If he wants all these terrorism, kidnap, senseless killing to stop they know what to do, Ѿε̲̣̣̣̥ are not our parents who stuck dem head under d sand n eat d left overs, or ran to UK and US to clean floor, Ѿε̲̣̣̣̥ own dis generation n if u oldmen fink na by treat n money u go use intimidate the youth of dis tym den u guy are in for a big surprise. Its either you are not able to read and comprehend the writing above or you had already programmed your mind to go against Mark and his colleagues regardless of what the say or do because Mark didn't say Almajiri is responsible for corruption and unemployment rather he said politicians are using the system for their selfish aims and that the system is counter-productive hence it brings about underdevelopment to the country........ Again Mark said Nigerians should use unemployment and poverty as excuses for perpetrating evil because Nigeria is not the only country in the world that has problem of unemployment.....So if i may ask, whats your squabble with that?.... I don't know who told you that Almajiri is to Islam what Sunday School is to the Christian but that's definitely not true. How many rich Northerners have their children among the Almajiris? All their children are in the best Schools abroad yet they create a system that enables them to brain-wash and use children of the poor to achieve their selfish aims..... I have the privilege to school outside Nigeria and i can tell you that Out of every 10 Nigerians studying oversea at-least 6 are sons and daughters of wealthy Muslims yet they are busy telling other children to go Arabic Schools in this 21st century. |
If i may ask, whats so special about Obama's visit to Nigeria, is he coming to raise the dead? Will his visit change the situation of things in Nigeria?..... I think Obama cancelling his proposed visit to Nigeria should be the least of our worries now. |
dgov: I dislike that man (Ameachi) since January 2012 when he stood and suppoeted FG that their is no going back on subsidy removal because of his selfish interest. I hate him with passion. You hate him because he supported FG (GEJ) on ur subsidy and now that he does not support the FG (GEJ)on few other issues you people are calling a traitor and calling for his head, what exactly you people want? |
Good job but think they need to visit Abia State ( Aba) for some cleansing as well. |
Sunehri_145: Confirmed!!! 6 bodies found. eye witness said that they were members of cultist, they has misunderstanding within them self. Before i got there police and market task force has cordoned off the place and were not allowing people to snap pictures'They were members of cult or they were cultists'...... there is nothing like 'they were members of cultist' |
Sunehri_145: Suspected cultist Killed 5 people this afternoon in Alaba international market Ojo LagosIt's 'Helter Skelter'.... |
Libkid: Abeg make jona kuku ma Declare a state of emergency in all d northern stateAre you high on something? |
I like maturity with which the papa responded to the different issues that were brought up except for saying that APC is not built on ideology because even PDP do not look like a party built on ideology to me. ACN, CPC and ANPP (APC) may have their short-comings but i believe they are the only reason why we can say we are in a democratic system. They are the only reason why PDP will sit and deliver on their electoral promises. |
Pakonte: senate approves state of emergency in three states...i dnt think dis ll improve d lives of so many graduates roaming d streets lookin for meagre jobs to get involve wif for sustenance...i hate dem senatorsNobody is talking about graduates and employment here.... We are talking about the security of life and properties of Nigerians... People have to be alive before talking of job.... And mind you, no govt in this world can provide job for all of her citizens so if you are waiting for govt job to take you from the street you may spend the rest of your life on the street |
Willgates: I'l certainly choose d europa ova n over again...reason being dat d EPL aint realy dat tense esp.wen d tournament z approaching itz end n a team z leading d table wit a gud margin as compared to d former. [my thoughts tho]It's ridiculous that someone who knows about football would chose europa ova epl... Ordinarily europa league is not for big clubs like Chelsea, man u, Barca, Madrid, Bayern munich etc. For Chelsea to drop to the level of playing europa league which is for average clubs like Newcastle, Everton, Athletico Bibao, Lavente etc, when the like of Barca, Madrid, Bayern Munich etc view anything less than UCL final or even the trophy as a bad season means that Chelsea had a bad season hence its not sentimental only but also fanatical for any one to claim that eurapa is more than epl just because Chelsea fell to that level. Beside, for big clubs the league is very prestigious because on like europa or even UCL, its a prove of the club's consistency over the season. It takes consistency in 38 games to win the league whereas in competitions like europa or UCL just being lucky in crucial games is enough to win or on the order hand few mistakes or injuries or even bad decisions by the referee at crucial times may send a good team out of the competition untimely. |
This papa better respect his age before they pummel and scatter his face in the name boxing... |
uncle2010: Before I used to take their critics serious but now I know ACN lack knowledge. They shut themselves on the leg by condemning the SOE thinking they will gain support in the North. ACN should remember that Romney was having an upper hand than Obama before He made the silly comment that 44% of Americans are depending on government that's what made him lost election. ACN should be careful of what they say because Nigerians may vote GEJ again out of sympathy. You just sat down in your house and arrived at the conclusion that Romney lost election because he said 44% of Americans are depending on government. How did you arrive at that conclusion? Where are your facts and figures and analysis did you use, qualitative or quantitative? and what is ur scope for that research?..... Instead of limiting yourself to the issue at hand you are dabbling into American politics which you know little or nothing about?.... |
Omotola is the most elegant actress in Nigeria and by extension in the whole of Africa. |
That miracle of Resurrection is nothing compared to that of our first lady ( Patience Jonathan) who resurrected after 7 days. |
Ile-Ife:You are a Nigerian like Melaye hence you have the right to sue Lawal Keita, Buhari or any other person you think should be sued. |
babyosisi: Ojukwu died at a ripe old age of 70 plus and was celebrated by NigeriaI guess Aguiyi Ironsi too died at a ;very ripe old age' and in the 'comfort of his room'! For the record, i do not hate any individual or tribe but i hate it when a particular tribe rejoices over every calamity that befalls others. Death is a mystery which no man can explain.... Anybody can die anytime and anywhere...... Several people that alive today or even some of the people died at 'very at ripe old age' are not better than some of the people that died prematurely..... Next time when talking about issue as mysterious as death do not all your hatred for other people or tribes to get the better part of you. |
apalemighty: If u don't understand politics. Pls shut upPolitical Philosopher please educate me on politics....... |
Professor Peter: Seun, pls don' t ban me. I know that Tinubu is ur uncle, is a APC a registered political party in dreamland or in Nigeria? If any of you discuss unregistered political party(APC) lead by nobody again on this platform, there will be no nairaland forum this time yesterday 10/05/13Its is not APC but CPC rally.... Its a requirement for merger by Inec. |
Nigeria is on fire. Innocent Nigerians are been killed here and there and all Politicians are busy doing is holding rallies and fighting about 2015 election..... How are they sure that Nigeria will be existing by 2015?.... We need to keep politics aside for now and face the reality on ground..... |
