thron: i met her last year december at a hotel, though i dont sleep with them but a friend took me out and persuaded me so i paid her and took her to a hotel and that was how it began. We've been seeing each other now and she anytime i go to see her, she's so happy to see me, she cooks for me and wants me to be happy. Initially i thought she's infected and wants to infect me but she showed me her HIV result and shes is negative. This is her seventh month in this biz. She's is neat, caring, godly, understanding. I'm thinking of opening a restaurant biz for her and she has agreed to stop. Now what does this mean?
Hana is she not a human being? She doesn't like what she's doing obviously. Give her a chance, even if you don't want to date her, help her out of that life if you can. God will reward you endlessly.

RomanceRe: Insult Or Compliment? by Daresh(f): 6:47pm On Jul 29, 2013
caramel007: This desire to open this thread was borne out of two incidents that happened to me recently and I want to know if my opinion is shared by a larger percentage of people especially the female folks. So here we go..

1. There was this guy I met recently and while out on a date, this was what happened. It happened that I was walking in front and he was coming up behind me. The next question thing I heard was 'has anyone ever told you that you have a wonderful backside?' I felt far from being complimented knowing that he had no qualms making obvious what he should have hidden.

2. I changed my display picture on my bbm today with a picture that wasn't even exposed at all. My friend (or shold I say aquaintance) pinged 'nice cleavage'. I had the same feeling I felt with the above episode. I simply ignored the comment like I didn't see it.

So for the ladies, pls share your experiences if u have one. Did it come across as a compliment or are u like 'no biggies'?

And for the guys ( u could share ur experiences too if u don't mind) would you go ahead and compliment a lady on her 'assets' (u know the ones I m talking about)? If its okay, wat would make u do that?

Would love to hear your views.

Cheers!
He's looking at u as a sex creature, not with respect
TravelRe: Wants Cheapest Air Ticket To Nairobi Kenya. by Daresh(f): 4:26pm On Jul 29, 2013
oolumide: thanks. how is rwanda air service like
I have a client that flew Rwanda cos it was cheapest, ol boy the babe nearly fainted. She said she will never ever fly Rwanda again. My advice, just complete the money and fly Kenya air. It's direct and so less issues with the kids and stop overs. I would advice you to purchase as soon as possible cos fare increases rapidly in summer and also hotel availability. Also remember you will have to pay for ur visa at the airport in Kenya so factor that into ur expenses.

sinie: Dear VO,

Thank you for this opportunity.

I have been wanting to travel to the USA, just to see the place, and maybe visit a few relatives. However, I've been discouraged by the stories I hear about visas being denied (I hate rejection embarassed ).

I have a good job, and so does my husband so the likelihood of absconding is just not existent.

But, I have never travelled outside Nigeria and I think it's silly to visit places like South Africa, Dubai e.t.c in a bid to appear well travelled, just to get a US visa (people do that you know undecided). The only place I really want to visit is the US.

My question is, what are the chances of getting a visa for someone who has NEVER been outside Nigeriahuh Especially when I have no special reason for travelling (except for sightseeing) embarassed
You don't have to have visited anywhere else. The first country I ever went to was the USA. I had never been anywhere else, not Ghana, Cotonou, Dubai, no where else. I applied and got a visa. If I had listened to what other ppl told me I would never have applied. And because of my US visa, getting visas to other countries is now a piece of cake.

Mavrick2012: Gooday folks, please i need your candid advice.
on sunday evening, while i was playing football with my two yrs old son in the sitting room,i overheard my wife making a call at the other end of our sitting room.About three minutes after the call i asked her who was on the line, she looked slightly ruffled, "uncle Amos",she said.I expected her to explain further, but she said nothing more,so i demanded who uncle amos is,she only said "you wouldnt know him".since i observed she wasnt ready to talk,i told her i was going to sleep.
The following morning she told me "uncle Amos" teaches in her sister's school, her elder sister has a school in keffi,we reside in kaduna.
The most shoking aspect of the whole drama was when i suggested she delete the number and stop all form of communications, mywife told me she doesnt like the idea, except if i want her to lie to me.she said she can guaranty its just platonic.
I try explaining but she remained adamant.folks, pleas what should i do?I detest divorce and infidelity.
This man are you possessed? Why would u demand she deletes someone's number from her phone for no reason? Abi she cannot talk to another man? You Kiki timed the call. I see you are a jobless and insecure man ba? Rubbish angry

FamilyRe: What Do You Think Is Wrong With This Couple? Pls Read! by Daresh(f): 7:09pm On Jul 24, 2013
adetoks2010: Hello house, please I need your candid opinion and advice. What do you think is wrong with this couple. I am the wife in question and talking or chatting with hubby usually degenerate into misunderstanding. The BBM chat below is just a sample of what I mean.

Background of this chat: It was on a Saturday and we had planned to pay a visit to a couple who just delivered a baby. Coincidentally, a church meeting was summoned for 11am and hubby was to go while I do other things. He was to go for this meeting and later pick me and our baby for the earlier scheduled visit. (Please note that a day before, our car broke down and hubby worked on it, he was also talking about taking the car for servicing later). When it was 3pm and he was not back I called him to know where he was, he didn’t pick it but he replied via a BBM chat. The chat below is the mgs exchanged:

Hubby: Do other things b4 I come. Not through
Wife: Kk, but no other tins to be done o. Where r u?,Are you not thru wit d church meeting?
Hubby: Read
Wife: Where r u?
Hubby:I told u not through and u are asking where I am. Where did I say I was going to?
Wife: (the following emoticons were sent to him)
love
kiss:
love:
rose flower:
rose flower:
love
Hugs:
Hugs
Smile
winks
Kiss:
Love:
Gift:
gift

(At 4pm, he was not back)
Wife::Where r u now, still in church or at the mechanic?
Hubby: Did I at any point in time mentioned mechanic to u?
Wife: Relax bro God is in control and don't get worked up for nothing. Life is too short. (Hugs Hugs) .
Hubby: And who is getting worked up. If not that u just wanted to be silly. I asked u back where did I say I was going to. Instead of u to get d drift u remained stubbornly adamant and asked me where I am, haba

Wife (pointing out the negative words he used): Silly, stubbornly adamant (Emoticons- love, kiss, winks)
Wife: One good turn deserves another. It’s just that I remember how dis couple stood by us in our time, making several trips to d hospital and home even b4 d naming ceremony. During d naming nko? Who made most of d purchases? Dis may be d only time I'll have to say hello to them, it's really bad. Haba, God dey.
Wife: My asking you where u are is just to know whether you are on your way or not. It’s sad that such a simple question can generate such heat from you. It is well.
Hubby: I never knew you could be this senseless

Most conversations with him end like this. Communicating with him is really difficult as he takes offense at trivial things that many people will let go of or will not notice. He seems to be always defensive when I talk to him especially if I have a contrary opinion. To me I feel we don’t communicate except for normal day to day issues. I find it easier speaking with outsiders- family and friends as he is usually not receptive. I don’t like this situation and I am tired – It can really be so lonely even while married. This is just 2 years marriage o. What do you think is wrong and how can I help this situation? Thanks for your advice
Advice, don't bother yourself too much about it. A lot of men find it hard to accept they are tied down and still want to do stuff on their own. They feel bugged by you asking where they are, or what they are up to. Or he might have a gf you never can tell with these men. After going thru all this rigmarole with my own Oga, I started boning. If we say 3pm and 4pm I never see you, I'll send a message, "took a cab down to see them, I'll see you when you get there". Remember, you don't have to go with him, don't let him insult you, be calm and don't take it seriously.

PoliticsRe: Nigerian Senate Used Child Marriage Issue To Divert Our Attention by Daresh(op): 1:36pm On Jul 24, 2013
Timcy01: True talk. Moreover if the law on underage is passed it will left for those who support it to practice it. But the millions that will be paid as pensions to there people can be used for other better things
My thoughts exactly! We can bellow from now till kingdom come against child marriage but who will enforce the law even if it is passed? But they are trying to pay themselves for life and to knock out the Presidents need to assent. The legislators are our biggest problem in this country. How long has the electoral reform bill been in front of them? They will overlook it and be looking for how to set themselves up for life.
PoliticsNigerian Senate Used Child Marriage Issue To Divert Our Attention by Daresh(op): 12:39pm On Jul 24, 2013
It was a wise man who once said that to see beyond what others have seen, stand on the shoulders of those that came before you, or something like that, you get the idea. I’m not going to belabour Section 29(4)(b) of the CFRN 1999, or the Marriage Act, or the Child Rights Act again. Those have been adequately elucidated upon by my learning colleagues; Saiddigge, Legal Eagle and Legal Prince). I believe they have done justice to that aspect, and I feel no need to add my voice on the laws regarding child marriage anymore. Talking about law, law can get tedious.

I’m here to talk about something that’s more fun. I’m here to talk about Magic.

Yes, your eyes didn’t deceive you, I said ‘Magic’, and just as you start thinking what does magic have to do with child marriage or any of the things that are disturbing us at the moment, I ask you to have patience and bear with me, it’ll soon make sense.

Ah! That profession, way of life, mystical wonder, that has always been the subject of awe, sometimes, criticism but mostly disbelief. Does Magic really exist? I don’t think so.

Magic tricks are usually performed with the aid of illusions, and some of these numerous illusions are performed by means of the technique known as the SLEIGHT OF HAND. You will then ask the obvious question, what is a sleight of hand?

A sleight of hand when used by a master, serves to keep you looking at the meaningless display on one hand, while he performs his major trick with the other hand, ergo, while you are focusing on the hand he wants you to see, the hand that has all your attention, he performs the actual trick with the other hand, the end result being that you are taken by surprise and then you are wowed by the magic of it all, not realising that it’s because you weren’t concentrating and you allowed him to control what you saw. It is the art of misdirection.
According to Wikipedia:
“Misdirection is perhaps the most important component of the art of sleight of hand. The magician choreographs his actions so that all spectators are likely to look where he or she wants them to. More importantly, they DO NOT LOOK where the performer does not wish them to look.”

In other words, he controls what you see.

Some of the readers at this point who are familiar with what I’m saying would probably already guess where I’m going with this, but let’s still proceed together.

I make the bold statement that Nigerian Senators are some of the best magicians that have ever lived. They have gotten our attention solely focused on the Child Marriage issue, we are fighting that fight with the wrong weapon, but yet, it’s all we are thinking about while we leave them to carry out their main purpose unhindered and unchecked. The most amazing thing about it all is that some of us are even aware of the other provisions that are to be reviewed. Revisions that have far-reaching, absolutely negative impacts on our great nation, but for some peculiar reason, it’s failing to register in our consciousness. We are setting up registers and rallying points to prevent the review of the infamous Section 29, yet that is going to have absolutely no effect on child marriage.

We need to learn to start looking beyond what they want us to see and start looking at what is actually going on. No wonder another wise man said ‘Eyes that look are common, but eyes that see are rare’. Nigerians we need to stop merely looking and start seeing and understanding the big picture.

I applaud Saiddigge who first brought this to my notice in his earlier published article, and Habibi my VP, who pointed it out specifically on her Facebook update.
Here are the other items that are up for review which will have huge effect on our nation, but which are not being focused on, It hurts me deeply to see how apparently we are being manipulated. I reproduce them here:

“-One of them is the provision of terms of office of executives, this is currently being deliberated upon and it is possible that we may end up having a person staying in executive office of president and state governor for six years if the amendment is approved.
-Two, the intention of the House to strip the president of the power of assent to any amendment of the constitution, and grant outright power to the legislature to make any bill passed into law irrespective of presidential assent. If passed, the implication of this is that, the men of the House (who have been proven from time to time to be composed of dishonourable men) will be granted free reign to make laws and modify any part of our present laws, including the constitution itself, to suit their purposes without having the president to at least vet these laws and grant assent.

- Three is the inclusion of former Senate President and Deputy Senate President as well as former Speaker and Deputy speaker of the House of Representatives in life-time pension, this means that in addition to the huge money they’re making from the nation, they’ll be fed from the nation’s purse for the rest of their lives, all four of these men.”

Nigerians, we need to wake up and stop being so easy to control. We need to break free from the shackles that have been placed on our minds.
The same activism that has been going viral about the country should be brought to bear on these issues as well before it becomes too late.

Think.

Till I roar your way again, keep your pride, sometimes it’s all you’ll have.

Doctorazz: I was severely slapped on the ear/face for reading ur "toasting msg" to a certain girl, that was not in any self defence MR.Thanks everyone,i know i will leave sooner or later, but as advised i will go to court to get a restraining order.
Woman, what do you mean by you will leave him sooner or later? No you would leave him NOW! I was in your shoes you know? The first beating came when I was pregnant. I cried for days and was in total shock. Like you I said, I will leave sooner or later and like that fool PortHarcourt boy, he said to me 'go, there are millions of girls wanting to be here' ! For years I lost my self, my self esteem. After 3 years of pain and beating, one day after another round of beating I picked up my bag and I left. Took my son and said nothing to him, I just left.

I have my self esteem back, I'm now sure of who I am and what I want from life, don't let anyone fool you it is not easy, but it is worth it. I don't know why I waited so long to take charge of my life. I dont know why I let myself be hurt, suffer and rejected for 3 years while he beat, cheated and treated me like i was nothing.

FYI we are back together now, on my own terms and there is no more beating, cos I won't stand for it. Know your worth woman, you are worth more than that fool you married.
InvestmentRe: Should I Build In Lagos Or In My Home Town or buy Stocks with my N 11 million by Daresh(f): 6:04pm On Jul 18, 2013
manie: A friend who works with UBA Capital invested 4 million Naira on the shares of UBA in January 2012. He planned to hold the stock for 36 months that is till January 2015. The average purchase price of the stock was between N2.35k and N2.50k.

The guy got a dividend of 702k from his stock in June 2013, after which he sold 90% 0f his shareholding for about 10.5 million Naira. With the sale of 90% of his UBA shares and the dividend received he has over 11 million Naira. He is now contemplating what to do with the money considering the various alternatives that are available.

Firstly he does not have a country home in his home town, that is Odogbolu in Ogun State. His younger brothers all have a country home at Odogbolu and he is the only one left out among the 3 of them. He is therefore thinking of using the money to build a house at Odogbolu.

Secondly he has a fenced plot of land at Ajah, he stopped in 2009 at the foundation stage. He is considering using the 11 million Naira to build a moderately finished 2 units of three bedroom flats that will give a minimum rental income of 1.1 Million Naira.I currently charge my tenants 550k per annum, he may decide to charge same or higher rate.

Thirdly, he believes stocks like Zenith Bank, FBN, UBA, UBA Capital, Access Bank and ETI are currently undervalued, investing in this stocks should give an average dividend yield of 6.5% is over 700k and an upside potential of 30% to 40% that is 3.3 million Naira to 4.4 million Naira in the next 12 months.

What will do you if you are in Supo's shoes.
Build in Ajah.

biggirloya2: WOW is it just that easy? please do not think i am asking a stup question but does not eating junk and going to gym help weightloss for real? coz i hvae hear other people saying ohh no i have tried bla bla sometimes they discarage me and say sometimes its just how pepple are born. Is there such a thing as a person born big naturally and your body would resist all sorts of attempts for weightloss?
first of all stop the self pity. lift yourself up and stand tall, proud and beautiful. How you look on the outside is not who you are inside. when i look in the mirror, the outward doesnt portray the inside. Stop being a victim and stand firm as a conqueror!
if you are serious about weight loss the first thing you need to do is cut out the fried food, the dodo, fried chicken, fried fish and all that goo. reduce your portion sizes. dont heep ur plate like you are going crazy. eat smaller portions. dont eat till you are full, eat till you are not hungry. then work out. start with taking walks, then start jogging. when you feel hungry, eat fruits and not biscuit.
Cut out bread, biscuits, pasta and all refined flour. their job is to make you fat. eat vegetables alot. try eating grilled chicken and salad for lunch. make it a habit. drink lots of water. keep out juices, soft drinks and malt. Just drink water.
I know this seems like a lot, dont do it all at once. Just start small small. everyday try something new or different and gradually u will go down. but in all this remember, you are beautiful! God made you bbeautiful and dont ever forget it!
