And for that reason, the majority of employers get away with doing certain things . Imagine that a person's salary was withheld last month only for the reason that he failed to record all of his time—not because he failed to meet the deadline for the month. The employers now were once employees, so what are you saying? That experience should be enough to handle new hires more effectively, true or false?

This is way too funny, the year was 2001, I was in SS2 while she was also in SS2, living with my Aunt in the village, attending the local community secondary, while she was a boarder in Anglican Girls Nnewi. Our communication then was through NIPOST. We exchanged lots of letters via the post office till when we decided to take a step further.

On a very good day, she wrote and informed me she would be visiting me, local man began to sweat, then I was also a virgin, I never spoil and was among the best students in my class then. I confided in my best friend Chibuzor on whatsup, that my babe wants to visit, he was aware of her . Chibuzor after thorough thinking advised me to let her come between 10am to 1PM on a particular date, as my Aunt been a teacher in one of the government primary schools in my town would be in school.

I communicated back, sharing my home address with her, and told her she fit show on our cleared date. Na so my babe come oh, meanwhile, I came back early from school, when all, including my aunt, has left for work. My lucky day, I went with my guy, Chibuzor to our main road to receive her, see butterflies doing acrobats in my tummy, Wow, only seen her once on a crusade ground in her village, Awka Etiti. when St. Barth. Anglican Church came for a crusade, there we met and exchanged school postal addresses.

With my little savings, I bought some biscuits, short cake biscuit by Nasco, not short bread oh as I could not afford it, then I bought a bottle of fanta and coke, so she gets to make her choice and I take the left over.

On arrival, Innocent me, I did not take her to my room, rather I took her to the living room, less I forget, I don discharge Chibuzor after we reach house. We were in the living room and I offered her my little refreshment, she took fanta, while i sipped my coke . We were discussing about Physics, Chemistry, how many topics she has covered, most difficult topics, and the like when our main entrance gate made a noise, the gate usually makes noise when someone is using it,

Swallowing hard, I went and peeped over the window!! low and behold, it was my Aunt, you suppose understand those Aunts that teaches primary six in government primary school, she was a no-nonsense lady, very strict. I evaluated my situation, we were not in any compromising position, me stuttering, informed my girl that my Aunt was back, she had nothing to fear, I would introduce her, she was scared, but so was I. However I tried calming her down.

Local man was in a fixed , however, I await my fate. Meanwhile, my aunt arrived before their normal closing hours, as she normally closes from school around 1:30 pm, but it was just after 11 am, I know someone must have snitched on me, but then, we were not doing anything bad, that was my thought, so it was going to be easy.

She quietly came in and entered the living room, I came out and greeted her, she asked why I was not in school, I stuttered to answer that I had a guest, she now asked me who was the guest?

I answered my friend.

She asked again, what type of friend? while walking into the parlor. When she entered, I blurted out... she is my Girlfriend, told her her name, her surname, her village and her school, her class, her last position in class, and many more things I cannot recall now.
Next I saw was broom landing on my girlfriend and me, men!!!! local man is finished!!!!

I never knew how she made it out of our compound. That was the end!!!! I could not write back to apologize and soon we wrote our SSCE exams, contacts were lost. In retrospect, I smile now and have played out many scenarios I would use that would have saved me that embarrassment, but then it happened.

Very funny and interesting story. She'll most probably be somewhere married now. I'm sure she will share this story to her kids some day

Na mumu dey date a guy wey dey squat. I did it in my naive days. Never again. The mumu later got his own posh apartment in lekki and started entertaining different girls with packs of shower caps stocked up in his wardrobe for their sleepovers.

Those days, I would sneak out of my boss's house at festac (daily) immediately after the day's work around 7pm. Oga don see me say I don return from work and he don enter him duplex, me wey dey boys quarters go sharperly do everything to please oga and wife and children and as soon as 7pm dey reach I settle dem finish. As soon as I was done, I go blow bike to weigh bridge ikorodu for aunty joy house. Sometimes after all the who wahala na only 30min I go spend with this girl for aunty joy backyard (just gusting o). Aunty joy never knew what was happening. The stress of returning home upon every meeting is what my girl (now wife) never knew till date. I lost my phone twice during those days but I never told my girl. I just Sha have to be home before 9pm as the oga of other umu boys. Fast track to 2023, she's my wife now and she have given me 4kids (3boys and a princess) and I've never regretted all the risks I took for her because I know she may have gone through more risks than I did those days. No be small thing o.
If I remember those days now I go just dey laugh and after the laugh I go praise myself for taking those risks to make the right choice. She's everything for me. I can bomb Putin on her behalf today (Putin na nice guy o, pls don't miss quote me).

Just reminded me a case of young man in his early 20s, left his hostel in Birmingham (UK). took a bus to Birmingham international airport with just his wallet, international passport and a flight ticket he printed in his room. His fellow students who saw him leave the hostel, thought he was going to get groceries.....11hrs later, he was knocking at his parents gate past midnight. His family was shocked, he requested a room should be prepared for him that he was feeling sleeping, he locked himself in that room for 4 days without coming out though en-suite but he didn't eat nor communicated with anyone.

The family being an influential one, had to be hush about it. It was the consultant psychiatrist where I worked, that was called in and got him to open the door and the guy looked like something else, it took so much experience to get him come over to our facility to be admitted. It was a very complicated diagnosis and he was established to be struggling with schizoaffective disorder and the 4 months he was in the facility was hair-raising.
