I don't believe 99% of men cheat, but an awful lot of them do. Worst part is they rationalize it and say they don't want to eat one soup for d rest of their lives.

Granted guys cheat..but the issue here is in committed relationships/marriage and in such relationships, statistics over the years show the numbers have bin rising but still well below 40%.

In 'general' relationships, agreed, the numbers are much higher 60-70% f guys as against 50-60% f d females.

It is here I heard 99% of married men cheat.

Am not new, infréquent tho, mostly because the threads here can be rather annoying.

NLanders on the family section seem to thrive on negativity, with peeps trying to push their reality onto others as d norm.

I sometimes pity the unmarried ones who come in here and become disillusioned from all the negative assertions/misconceptions about men.
It was after one of such threads I read that I had to create a counter thread.

True story..
There was this nice couple, the guy a fine, well to do swaggalicious person with a sanguine personality who suddenly started having some issues which put a big strain on d family. The wife especially, who felt uncared for and unappreciated and this affected them so much even intimately.
long story short, there was so much pressure on dis dude that peeps were advising him to stray, cheat, keep a mistress to kip d sanity in his home (including females) and as expected there were temptations then But, even though he thought about it, he stood firm and faithful.
They're better now, doing well and still together.

There are plenty men like this and stories like this.

The issue here is marriage not general relationships
Someone that has already bin 'sensitized' due to a prior infidelity will tend to notice more of infidelities in oda relationships

Having a realistic expectation is not the same as lowering expectations.

No one is asking them to compromise on their values to make their partners happy but having a realistic expectation and hopefully having them over deliver should naturally allow their relationship to be pure bliss

Majority of women form opinion using hear-says and media stories as acceptable standards on how marriages ought to be.

The problem is, in majority of cases, realistic is understood as lowered expectations.

e.g..unrealistic is expecting Ur man not to cheat, while realistic is keeping an open mind cos '99%
