Christianity EtcRe: Thanksgiving.....what Are You Thankful For.... by DBestDoc(f): 8:32am On Sep 11, 2016
I've got too many things to be thankful to God for.

I'm thankful for Life and the near perfect state of health my family and i are enjoying.
I'm thankful for having an intact and sane family, especially for my dad who gave up his comfort to make sure i get to the height i am now.

I'm thankful for my sister who has been my rock.

I'm thankful to God for my mum and the endless prayers she makes on my behalf.

For the beautifu people around me, my job and career.

I'm thankful to God for always walking before me and smoothening all rough paths before i get to walk through, for holding my hands so i don't get lost and for providing solutions to life's problems even before i encounter them.

For my failures, disappointments and frustrations. They only served as lessons and open doors for better opportunities.

Infact, Baba God carry my matter for head. For everything so far, i'm very much grateful...And to think that i've not been to church for the past 4 years cry

He shows mercy to whom He shows...

This is more of family than what he stands to gain.

And what makes you think the boy is unfortunate?

Forget that story, what the op is saying is that people give the above courses more credit than they actually deserve.
Most nigerian parents will b shouting medicine engineering. Etc and its not good at all
So what courses do you think deserve better credit and hype?
Sociology, fisheries, political science, business administration...?

If i happen to parent and sponsor my kids through school in Nigeria and they decide to choose a course outside the OP's list of over-hyped courses, my 1 kobo won't be going in.

This is my opinion, my life, my business btw.

I would have excused and sympathized with OP if the thief got away before she noticed. But heck, she had the opportunity to retrieve her money but she let it slip.

Wisdom is knowing when to act and when not to.
When not to act=when faced with a hardened agbero in a secluded place, you better walk away to avoid having your teeth in your own hands.

When to act=when you're bullied in an open place.

See how an old woman bullied and chanced a young girl like you ...smh. If you were my sister...in fact my sister won't bring this sort of gist close to me cos i for give her additional slap on top.

You saw your money right in her hands and you let her go. You chose to listen to the foolish people there telling you crap. Since the money was in her hands, you would've asked her to tell you how much it was assuming she took more than a single note.
If it was really hers, she should be able to tell the exact amount and the denomination of the notes she's got in her hands.
As usual, Nigerians will bring religion into the matter and ask you to forget, that God will fight for you as if God doesn't have more important things to do already. He has given you wisdom, use it.

EducationRe: Most Overhyped Courses In Nigeria, the FACT!!!! by DBestDoc(f): 10:54am On Aug 07, 2016
@Op, i can't fault what you wrote up there because the word "Nigeria "gave credibility to your post.

Those courses you listed above are amongst the best and are considered hot cakes in saner climes.
An intern Doctor in Namibia earns more than a senior resident in Nigeria. The fact that Nigeria is a messed up place shouldn't deter people from pursuing their dreams.

Those courses you listed actually contibuted and still contributing atleast 70% in making our world progressive and a much better place.
There are struggles in every sector.
My advice is, go ahead and study what you want but don't limit yourself, don't be a local champion and don't put all your eggs in the Nigerian basket..

What a nonsesnse is this for God sake how can you a doctor I mean qualify doctor forget towel in someone stomach what is all these nonsense oh heaven and now he will say its devil that caused it. How could you do surgery and stich up without 100% sure all is clearhuh This was a friend elder sister was killed 3 years ago the doctor forget his wedding ring inside the woman stomach before the family the woman already turned pale and becoming white in a matter of few hours she was gone in attempt to remove the wedding ring from her belly.

This is very bad error please.
My brother, please stop posting dumb stories here in an attempt to portray the Doctors in a bad light.

Before any Doctor enters an OR to operate on a patient, the basic requirement is that he scrubs properly and that entails wearing of surgical gloves et al

How could he forget his ring inside a patient when his hands were gloved?

Did he operate on the patient with his bare hands?
Nowhere in the world will a Doctor perform a surgical procedure whether bloody or not without wearing gloves. Provided it's within a hospital facility.
HealthRe: Lagos Doctors Forget Towel In Patient’s Abdomen After Surgery by DBestDoc(f): 1:49pm On Aug 03, 2016
The theatre nurse didn't do his/her job well.
He was supposed to take record of every single surgical instruments, guazes/towels used for the operation and he failed.

It's his job to count and recount them to make sure he got them all back before the patient is closed up...

The only mistake those Doctors made was failing to double check and ask, unfortunately it cost the patient his life.

Food don don for people who know nothing about how an operating room is being run or organized, they will start shouting quacks angry. The real culprit here is the Nurse, but as usual the Doctor is charged for every mistake that goes on under his watch.

RIP to the dead.

Killing another human extra judicially is satanic...that said.

But mere laptop? I dont think so. What if by his stealing d laptop he had stalled the getting of info that would be life-saving for someone else.
What if by stealing d laptop he was able to get info with which another person was traced and killed.
What if by stealing d laptop he was able to wipe someone else's life savings.
What if...
Its not a 'mere laptop', my friend.
Thank you my brother. This is one of the 2 comments that have got an iota of sense in it after reading 3 pages.
Nigerians and sentiments...smh
Sentiments brought us where we are now as a country and and it will keep crushing us till we decide to think with the brain God gave us.

For those calling it a mere laptop, i smh for you guys. Do you know what the owner went through before being able to buy that laptop?
Do you know if he saved up his 7 months salary to buy that laptop?
Do you know what purpose that laptop serves in his life?
Do you know what pain you cause someone when you steal their stuffs? It may be something they sacrificed a lot to acquire and you just take it away from them.

As for the dead guy, i got no sympathy for him.
Is he a foreigner?
A typical Nigerian knows how aggressive Nigerians on the street can get if you are caught stealing something as small as a cube of Maggi, it's nothing new. We hear, read and witness it from time to time. The fact that he decided to gamble it means that he weighed his options very well and made his decisions which was to go ahead and steal, regardless.

I'm not in support of jungle justice but anybody that picks up an insect infested firewood, should be ready to face the music...no sentiments if they run out of luck.
Those screaming politicians bla bla, is collective property same as a personal effect you worked so hard for?
How many politicians can u lay your hands on?
The economy is hard and everybody is feeling it both home and abroad. Just as Mr A is hustling, Mr B should also hustle and not try to rip other people off their stuffs.
These guys that steal people's ATMs and clear their life savings, do you know how many families they cause pain? When karma catch up with them, Nigerians will start screaming.

A friend of mine lost 4 phones and a gold necklace within 6 months of returning to Nigeria, one of the phones was stolen in a hospital. Hospital of all places shocked, stealing from someone that is meant to help you out with your problems is the height of wickedness.

The relative that found a car online, liked it and paid some money into the guy's account to deliver the car to her location because she didn't have time. It happened to be a scam. I called his number and he said we should do whatever we want that he won't refund the money, when this particular guy runs out of luck and gets paid in his own coin, una go begin shout...

There isn't any justification whatsoever for taking someone else's life. The answer is treating others how you would want to be treated.

It doesn't seem fair in any relationship, be it marriage or business except ofcourse the entire amount comes from your pocket..

I have two first bank accounts and the last time any transaction was carried out on either was 4yrs ago, my last visit to Nigeria. But first Bank of Nigeria keeps deducting money from my accounts monthly or once in two months, and they call it SMS charges...SMS for what?
I got fed up once and sent them an email to please deactivate the sms alerts 'cause the phone number they send those alerts to is probably owned by someone else now.

They asked i should provide some documents from the Embassy and stuffs grin, i had to give up 'cause the requirements were much.

The deductions have not stopped. Besides, those accounts are not linked to a BVN. Why the transactions ?

I can believe this. You have a full tuition waiver and monthly stipend, yet you can't hustle your way out?
you want to be spoonfed abe?

When i left the shores of Nigeria for studies too, i had just 200usd on me. That was about 45kngn.
My flight ticket was 278kngn, all cash hustled and arranged by me 100%. I was also around your age. Totally self(family) sponsored, no scholarship from anywhere and no guarantee of monthly upkeep stipend.
Not everyone is lucky enough to be born into wealth, but serious people work their way to the top.
You have 100k which is well above 300usd, full scholarship, guaranteed monthly stipend and you are asking if you should forfeit the opportunity lipsrsealed?

You can forfeit the scholarship so that a more deserving, self-motivated person can get it. Perhaps you are here to garner sympathy for someone to dash you money instead of hustling. If that's the case, na u sabi

The question was, is it possible to get to the heart from that stab wound location? In my opinion yes. Consider the length of the attacker's weapon and compare it with the distance from that point to the heart. Maybe a 3D reconstruction of the thoracic cavity will help. Although the apex is at the 5th intercoastal space, but remember that the knife must have made a superior travel at an angle other than 90 degrees towards the heart.

When someone holds a knife to stab, naturally the upper extremity is abducted way from the body, this increases distance thus more force.

Talking about learning, I learn everyday from real-life cases. Sometimes it is not what the textbooks say because people are different. Take a closer look at that victim's body habitus, then you will get my point.
I get your point, it's a good one though. But if that guy was brought to me in real life and i'm to guess which organs are injured, the heart would not be among the top two on my list.
Lungs, Diaphragmatic and liver rupture would be considered first judging by the level and severity of hemorrhage around him.

RIP to the dead.

Do you have knowledge of anatomy at all? Where do you think is the easiest part to get to the heart? If you go through the front, there is a bone there called sternum which might protect the heart. From the back, there is no such protection except your shoulder blade which is way up and lateral. Look at the precision of that wound, the aboki knows what he is doing, he avoided the backbone which would have offered some protection in the mid-line and went straight through the right 8th inter-coastal space. At that point, there was no chance of being stopped by either the backbone, ribs or shoulder blade.

RIP
Are you sure you did Anatomy?

Look at that picture again bro...

From your analysis, you said the injury is at the Level of the 8th ICS @ bold. At what level is the heart's apex, does it run down to the 8th ICS? even if he was dextrocardiac...

We should be talking more bout lung injuries like pneumothorax and atelectasis.

Reading through this thread I saw about 4 quotes trying to correct you, but you just won't learn...

Exactly the response i expected from you. From your first post, i already deduced your kind.
It pays to be open minded my dear and logic should be applied when and where necessary.

Your main concern should be your lady's level of spirituality and moral uprightness which is not necessarily determined by doctrine.
We cannot keep being myopic and intolerant of others different than us and expect a good result, if the difference in doctrine (not religion) is the only reason you called off your 5yr relationship, then i don't know what to say. You both are christians, yet intolerant and unwelcoming of each other's faith

That's even what surprised me, she will be 28 next month and she gave me such a silly response, it seems she has already gotten another option
i laugh at you bro, so you were expecting her to gravel at your feet and plead with you not to call off the relationship because of her age?
what she did is what any right thinking person with a healthy self respect would do, regardless of gender or age.
Why must she be the one to change her church when two grown adults are obviously involved in the relationship?

she is a human being too remember, with a mind of her own and a purpose to accomplish on earth. her life doesn't have to revolve around you.
you got it wrong by giving her an ultimatum to either change her church or the relationship is over. That is not what a selfless adult that really wanted the relationship to workout would have done.

if the issue of religious affiliation(both christians) could end your relationship, it means you guys are way too immature to talk marriage at this time. You both need to grow up.
For relationships to succeed, sacrifices need to be made but it cannot be forced. you love being a Pentecostal, she loves her church. You could meet each other in the middle and love continues.
The way you handled it is poor, i wish you the best.
