So once again, I go back to being strategic. Give yourself an 18-24 month plan to be on the conservative side. I would use this for someone coming from parts of the world where their post-graduate training is recognised by the Canadians and you're looking at just going through the process of them formally recognising your previous training experience and writing the exams.

If you're coming straight from Nigeria - then the two pathways are looking at residency (difficult but not impossible) or a sort of practice assessment - very provincial dependent before transitioning into commencing practice.

Canadian rules are convoluted and can be frustrating to get one head around so don't let that discourage you.

Finally, if you're really keen on making the move, start looking at applying for PR. It puts you at a relative advantage when it comes to job application and even things like practice assessments. They do positively discriminate in favour of Canadian citizens and residents - its just the way it is they don't hide it. There were a couple of hospitals who were not prepared to go through with me because I needed a work permit coming from the UK despite already having all the necessary Canadian qualifications and a fun medical licence.

PS

1. It is all capital intensive, takes patience but in my view if you get things done and a good deal, there are fewer places in the English speaking world to practice and enjoy medicine better than Canada at the moment. It is not without its challenges but in my view the benefits significantly outweigh any such draw backs and it is not even close.

2. If you really want to pull this off in a smart way, I would suggest looking at the UK as a mid-way stop. The exams are cheaper. Your chance of getting a job/residency relatively easier compared to Canada. You can earn some money to pay for your exams, gather the necessary clinical experience that serves you well towards getting Canadian clinical equivalent recognition - i.e if youre looking at working at the GP level. The specialist route is longer and more tenuous but a man has got to do what a man has got to do.

The early christians never paid tithes rather, they gave offerings and donations to take care of their needs. The rich amongst them sold their properties and shared the proceeds with the poor brethrens.

People gave donations to move the kingdom business forward, no tithes were paid or received by Jesus, the disciples or the early christians whom we should model after.

Giving is supposed to be done willingly and cheerfully. You all put a 10% tag just to defraud people and drag God into your madness.

Same prob i'm having, i also sent them an email and i got same system glitch reply.

It's been that way for the past 2 weeks and in my case, the accrued interest is back to 0.00ngn.

I have another MMF with FbnQuest and it's been running smoothly. If ARM do not get their acts together by the end of this month, i may just transfer all my investments to FbnQuest.

I don't see any sense in govt subsidizing education for starters because it's a scam minding the level of rot in facilities and backwardness in the educational standards of higher institutions. I have seen a doctor who saw himself through school from start to finish without one kobo contribution from his family in the same Nigeria.

It's cool, that's what we do for ourselves.

I also took up part-time jobs as a student, not holiday jobs, part-time jobs meaning i had to combine school work plus my job.

What we're looking at here is an increase from peanut to peanut, less than 28USD for a full year's tuition. This shows that the school authorities are actually very considerate and should be appreciated. They understand the state of affairs of the students and decided to review it accordingly.

Lots of graduates are just going to school to get certificate and don't pay emphasis on the skill it affords them to acquire.
If you value the education you would even do manual labour to save N200k as buffer to help see you through school and enjoy millions in subsidy.

I'd advice you open a mutual fund investment account with Firstbank, FbnQuest.

You get better interest added to your original savings than the traditional savings account. It's a good way to earn little cash while saving.

Paul gathered those offerings so he could send them to the brothers in need . That is what the early church, the real christians were known for. They shared all they had with those that didnt have . No one collected from the rest in the name of being a pastor or prophect.

Even Paul you quoted never took anything for himself. He said he worked with his own hands, that God forbid that he becomes a burden to anyone. Even though he had the right to tax them, he never did.

Try and study the bible very well, and when you do, desist from picking a single verse rather, read the preceding and subsequent verses to get the full message.

Tithing is very unchristian,whether you accept the glaring truth or not. But offerings are recorded everywhere in the bible. Jesus gave and received for His ministry, the early church also gave and received. But giving has to be done cheerfully like the bible commanded that is why the widow gave. Willingly and Jesus hailed her for that.

You can give jets to your pastor, nobody stops you from doing that, but saying you're giving it to God is where the problem lies. God is nobody's mate. Tithe to your pastor and his ministry but don't drag God into it 'cause clearly from the scriptures, the only way you give to God is by giving to the needy, clothing the naked, feeding the hungry, visiting the sick and our services to God. Don't add or subtract from the scriptures.
