Shame on you people, Ibos!!! You thought this protest would not achieve anything but Yorubas and Hausas have proved it that power belongs to the people, at least in democratic dispensation. Those who died didn't die for nothing as most coward Ibos taunted. And we will use this miscalculation of yours to taunt you on nairaland for many months, years to come. Shame on Seun too, who failed to see another SAP in the making. Remember, many countries are now practising mixed economy, you can't just leave masses faith and everything in the hands of few greedy capitalists in the name of deregulation and development. If GEJ really wants development, he should tackle corruption. Subsidy for 160m people is not a burden, corruption is.
Has it occurred to a conniving dullard such as you that Ndigbo wanted, among other things, disintegration of Nigeria? You can shove the cesspit called Nigeria into your dumbass for a change.

@merengue

I had thought Dayokanu is the most idiotic person to navigate to nairaland, guess what; I am close to the mark. In fact, the honor of most idiotic person ever to approach nairaland goes to you.

If I had not been to a typical village in Urhobo, curiosity would have become my drink because you posited a typical village in Igbo is overrun by empty mansions. At least, the mansion-dotted landscape of typical Igbo village is better than thatch houses laden with gallons of “Akamere” that grace typical Urhobo village.

Igbo stood forefront in a war against Nigeria and yet were able to achieve what you enumerated in your post including the positions such as Vice President of Nigeria, President of Senate etc. May I ask you which political positions were willed to Urhobo in the cesspit called Nigeria even when the Urhobo people served as water-boys to soldiers from northern region during Nigeria/Biafra war?

Remember that Ndigbo and Biafrans fought to bring Nigeria to its knees. Are you lost on the sentiment to bringing Nigeria to its weakling knees has not departed from Ndigbo?

If you were not regrettably moronic or schooled to think crude oil belongs to certain section of Nigeria, you would have realized that the killings of southerners and christians in the northern region of Nigeria by Boko Haram carry more important weight to Ndigbo than the hike in fuel price.

When you wrote Igbo land is landlocked and informed us you performed national youth service in Oru West LGA, you created a huge doubt in my mind about your academic background. Even my fourth grade child knew Igbo land is not landlocked. By the way, there is nothing or sign in physical geography that tilts economical advantage from landlocked countries to the ones with miles of coastal lanes. I have known many well-meaning and good-nutured sons and daughters of Urhobo land, you are not a true son or daughter of Urhobo land.

You guys are so funny & uninformed.

1. Our enocomy in the South East is more of entreprenuership than civil service & oil companies. Most of our income is not slary based. We work hard, and I mean that we work hard. If fuel increases, our goods & services will also increase. Market forces will simply help us to balance up,

2. We have more concerns for now than subsidy. We can't cant be demostrating agaist a policy that will save the lives of our brothers. Subsidized fuel is smuggled accross borders in exchange for arms & bombs used by Nigerians to kill our brothers. We are in mourning mood.

3. Subsidy is not worth dying for. When NLC/TUC calls for a protest against 8oko Haram, and all the senless slaughtering of our brothers, then we can join.

4. Those championing these protects are the ones that ruined goverment parastertals. Its the members of the NLC that ran down the refineries, NITEL, NEPA/PHCN, etc.

5. Project Nigeria has failed, we are busy brain storming on alternative.

Em, one more thing. Jonathan will surely bring an end to free oil, its only a matter of time.
In addition, when the idiotic leadership of NLC/TUC deemed it necessary to spend 500 billion naira on luxurious buses built in south east via INNOSON MOTORS instead of the buses built in Republic of China.

Thanks philip0906 and Mr. Globe. May be a a good number of Eastern leaders were paid-off, and that will explain why Igbo top-shots are not supporting FSR.

But GEJ can't buy the common man in all Eastern states.

Igbos are naturally egalitarian, independently-minded people who are not easily led by their noses by their leaders. So, even if their leaders are "settled", the people will still protest.

It appears that the common man in Eastern Nigeria does not identify. Why?
There are more important things that occupy average Igbo person’s mind such as “Abandon Property” in Port Harcourt, Rivers State than a hike in price of fuel.

said they carried out the jan 15th coup to install Awo as the PM. Yeah right!!!

Like i have always opined, you ibos are smart but your main problem is that you think all others are dummies.

Unfgortunately, for you lot, others can smell your "smartness", miles away hence the abokis are always using you guys for target practice

You are a conniving slimy maggot who seemed to be inflicted with dementia. If there is any group of people used for target practice by aboki, I guess your stock of people comes to mind. It has been a pattern of inherent display of silence even when the son of the soil was murdered in the capital city of anticipated Oduduwa republic.

Dede. . . it's your nemesis calling! tongue tongue grin grin I gave a suggestion and you extremist folks say I am not "Igbo" enough, I should confirm my tribe, etc? Okay, no problem. On this same NL, you people have upped the ante on war and violence and while I and others tried to speak objectively, you are the leader of the tribal fight. Well, the war you have been calling for is now nigh and the gauntlet has been thrown, so pick it up and I want to see you lead from the FRONT! You will now see that war is not a piece of cake and the violence will far exceed 1967-1970. I don't want to give more advice because I know it will only end-up with you and your marauding tribal warriors abusing and insulting every contrary opinion.
I am not yet sold on the current political shenanigans in Nigeria instigated by those who felt they have been wrongly robbed through the election of GEJ to presidency. From your clone of erroneously self-acclaimed military expertise, I believe you did not suggest commencement of a shooting war because goons in your social class have decided to breach the public peace in Nigeria. Ndigbo do not need the advice of a punk who can hardly differentiate child’s play from shooting war. smiley smiley smiley grin grin

If you beat the drum of war simply because of a hike in price of fuel in Nigeria, I am afraid you still think violence as a form of war is likened to “operation watie”.

I have fought in one war already and would not mind another. smiley smiley smiley I say without doubts that any current war in Nigeria will be as violent or exceed the 1967-1970 attrition but it will be short-lived because many sections of Nigeria have grown few senses they lacked in 1967. grin grin
Politics › Re: Boko Haram Kills 4 Igbo Traders trying to flee from Yola by Dede1(m): 9:57pm On Jan 12, 2012
The amalgam of my political philosophy towards Nigeria was shaped by the causes and battles of Nigeria/Biafra civil war. I have never and will never believe in the unity of Nigeria or the phantom known as one-Nigeria.

There are no bases for unity in Nigeria because of distinct cultural orientations among different ethnic groups that share territories within Nigeria. Ndigbo will never engage in acts of wanton destruction of lives or properties belonging to other ethnicities leaving among them in Igbo land on the pretence that rigged elections in Nigeria did not pan out according their wishes.

Even if Ndigbo jump onto reprisal attacks by killing innocent Hausa, Fulani and Kanuri who seek means of livelihood in Igboland, it will not change a thing. There have been such silly and senseless attacks and counterattacks which had resulted in lost of lives before now and yet nothing changed in Nigeria with respect to ethnic relationship as it affacts religion, culture and polity.

Any massive retaliatory measure undertaken by Ndigbo in order to settles scores with idiotic Boko Haram without creating a national boundaries between both sides shall remain a waste of time because we shall come back to it again since there will be more elections in Nigeria and definitely will not go according to the wishes of certain folks.

Based on the irreconcilable differences among ethnic groups in Nigeria, I have adamantly and resolutely concluded Nigeria’s political solution lies in the simple act of disintegration.

Nigeria is occupied by deluded and comical individuals. Good numbers of them are in the news print business and visit nairaland very often. In addition, they are very despicable and shameless in their futile attempt to make current saga in Nigeria an Igbo affair.

Where are the corpses of the thousands of Ndigbo murdered by Boko Haram in northern region of Nigeria? It is funny the ethnically biased Nigerian news media houses have not shown any corpse transported to Igbo land yet.
Politics › Re: Boko Haram Kills 4 Igbo Traders trying to flee from Yola by Dede1(m): 1:53pm On Jan 12, 2012
Aigbofa: Denial is not the solution this serious problem. You can deny it all you want, but the truth is the truth.

How is this even possible?
There is nothing for Ndigbo to deny about the current saga in Nigeria. I can assure you that Ndigbo will definitely react toward misdeeds manifested by the actions of any ethnic tah caused death of Igbo person especially when corpses of murdered Igbo people arrived in Igbo land. Unlike most other Nigerians, Ndigbo will not bury their dead in foreign land. When dead bodies start to arrive in Igbo land, cheap press releases embarked upon by loudmouths will not be needed.

Ndigbo will not be spurred into action of wanton distruction of properties and lives because one airhead is cracking up unfounded rumors and innuendos about killings of Ndigbo in the northern region of Nigeria.

I guess certain Nigerians are the most hopeless, idiotic and foolish human beings on earth. If the alleged news of selective killing of Ndigbo in northern region is remotely true, Igbo land would have been flooded with corpses of Ndigbo from the northern region by now. I brought fuel in Anambra state before and even the most rural area fuel was sold for 70-80 naira maximum, so spreading lies that fuel was 100 naira in the east is just funny but people chose to ignore them. It is disingenuously reprehensible and unacceptable display of idiocy on your attempt to invoke words such as betrayal and NLC in the sentence with South east of Nigeria. It was not too long ago when the same NLC/TUC leadership opted to buy luxurious buses from China instead of buses manufactured in South east via INNOSON.

NLC is worse than betrayal; they are evil to Nigeria and its labor force. NLC should not worry about south east of Nigeria; it should concentrate all efforts on the welfare of the labor force in China.

What Nigeria is experiencing now is increase in prices of crude oil byproducts such PMS (Premium Motor Spirit). I guess the entire Nigerian public had been hoodwinked through nonsensical nomenclature.

A healthy competition shall exist among emerging nation states. Also, people of each nation would like to emulate one another in areas of comparable interest and ideas such as election of visionary and quality leadership.

The citing of functional points of contacts with outside world without political or tribal inhibition would usher rapid development. I recently went through the so-called Port Harcourt International Airport; the entire place looked like abandoned crack house.

The patriotism lost on Nigeria by many Nigerians will be vigorously reinvented on the new and emerging nations. People would want to sacrifice their time and money to the development of the nation they can proudly call home.
